EDMONTON - A woman was killed Monday when the truck she was driving turned over and crushed her beneath its roof.

1 v" c0 C" D$ D3 e; hThe woman was driving a gravel truck two kilometres north of Westlock when it veered off the road. The truck rolled across Highway 44, trapping and crushing the woman in the cab.9 K' B. N& e ~% G; g3 m
' }. B7 y4 u/ fAudrey Wiedrick, 57, from Westlock, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to RCMP. She was not wearing a seat belt.
; G1 @2 }, C* n: W! lWiedrick worked for Alberta Highway Services and was hauling a water tank and asphalt packer when the accident occurred, said Jason Maloney, spokesman for the Alberta occupational health and safety office.$ {/ x% h! G: H: u
. K5 h1 z6 N# I* ? `" s) r6 @/ gIt is not known what caused the woman to drive the truck off the road. Occupational health and safety and the RCMP are investigating.

"The truck is considered a workplace, that was the driver's workplace," Maloney said, explaining why they are investigating./ L, E& x+ n9 T* b9 E8 H" L. ^

Maloney said they will look at the maintenance records of the truck and trailer, the hours the driver worked, and the weight of the units the truck was carrying. |
