The average days on market of Edmonton ComFree listed properties are still among the lowest in the country at only 32 days yet some home sellers are becoming impatient with the time it is taking them to sell their property.

Real estate activity slows down in July and August as compared to the normal spring increases in market activity. Like most other industries, holidays and summer fun affect the pace of business. Buyers are taking holidays, as are lenders, appraisers, lawyers and home inspectors. Sellers need to be patient throughout the summer as many potential buyers are delaying their search until the fall.

Ultimately, Edmonton home sellers will be successful but they do need to be a bit more patient in the current market. Real estate agent listing contracts are usually 60-90 days, which should be a signal to private sellers about how long they should expect their property to sell if priced appropriately.
