GE Consumer & Industrial's Motors & Controls business is seeking an enthusiastic electrical engineer with a genuine interest in the design of large motors and generators (rated up to 70 MW) for a variety of engineered-to-order applications. The position offers the engineer the opportunity to use the latest in design and analysis tools (e.g., Maxwell 3D, ANSYS, and various GE-proprietary tools) while developing innovative solutions for rotating machine applications. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in multidisciplinary project teams that include many of the world's leading machine designers.

Responsibilities

5 q$ G; P( ]! I6 e/ m*Electromagnetic design of large electric machines (primarily synchronous machines).

*Provide leadership in advancing the competitive position of GE's large motor and generator products through continuous innovation and improvement of product designs and design processes.

*Plan, coordinate, and provide technical and project guidance to engineering teams in various global locations.

*Provide support to sales and marketing personnel in the pursuit of new business opportunities.

*Provide technical support to CAD design, manufacturing, and test personnel.

*Electrical engineering degree (bachelor or master).

4 P( L# |3 l. D* R, V*Demonstrated experience and success in the electromagnetic design of large electric machines, preferably in an engineered-to-order environment.

*Familiarity with the application of NEMA, IEC, and API standards to electric machines.

+ E9 ^: W3 D4 I$ }8 E% ?- F% k* G*Experience in electromagnetic finite element analysis preferred.

*Registered Professional Engineer or eligibility for registration.
