2. Marketing and Promotion

! F% c5 x K! j- T, Ja. To develop and implement a marketing plan for the venues that

students, and internal and external clients on an on-going basis. 3 I1 |( z0 u& N5 ]
This strategy will include implementing and/or delegating the following:5 m* }9 o; ^, J( L6 A5 K$ t
· To develop and maintain promotional materials, the Horowitz & n) O" g% O3 }; {* W- [) [0 I
Theatre and SU Venues home page, newspaper and other advertising; to
( Z7 N' G0 {" o+ |take advantage of other internal and external advertising + I. a/ a p6 ?' Z5 ~' K4 s5 T
opportunities; and to develop press releases and other promotional
5 m& e2 ^, B+ z$ \$ Sliterature on an ongoing basis.2 r/ l/ r) r+ R8 j) q4 T. g
· To coordinate tours of the venues for potential renters.

3. Staff and Supervisory Roles and Responsibilities- \+ I) K$ d: g2 V" H

a. To ensure, at all times, that the venues are adequately and cost-
5 b0 o. F' E. c! yeffectively staffed, and that the staff utilized by or within the / t6 }# j) A& N- B: d
venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and 1 J5 ]" E$ L% c$ y4 }
contribute in a positive way to the smooth operation and success of
+ Y. E7 d9 ^& X7 V4 C6 Kthe renter´s events. This includes, but is not necessarily limited
; M" p. y' ~2 c+ Tto, the following:- v3 t+ [8 g9 b& H" I4 l& O
· To be responsible, under the direction of the Manager of Venues 9 v+ \6 a; J: Q4 U( `4 g! a8 S
and Programming, for all staff issues including hiring, disciplining, 2 Q) ^* E+ H2 K; ]
evaluating and terminating, as necessary.
& ]' z9 d, r. X* G To ensure that the Horowitz Theatre is adequately supervised at
! N* p$ C9 S) R) @; mall times, this includes the development and implementation of such
4 Z0 E# C& F: v- _+ E$ ~7 j5 Eschedules and rosters as may be necessary to ensure the effective and + w& B! ~) L% H% Y
cost-effective supervision of the venues at all times during which it 0 L( X2 s7 W) f5 h' W1 y7 z
is in operation or needs to be in operation.
% j8 l4 v. J; N+ }· To work with the Technical Director, when necessary, to ensure
3 K, D# F5 o* e' H, H' Mthat an adequate and appropriate level of part-time staff exists to
2 G% b& l6 Q# j |8 i/ m1 n2 hfacilitate the smooth operation of the venues and to ensure all
% c. }4 k# {/ n, T- rrenters needs are met.- z8 q: i8 I( L! b
· To work with the Technical Director to ensure that the skills * D' ^7 ^( L; `. P6 a3 E, ]8 b
and attitudes of all subordinate staff are appropriate in light of $ G5 ]9 d C; M3 \
the roles they must perform. This includes providing adequate and j- c. _' C9 p O- z0 l1 u
effective training (and re-training) in all applicable and * p. \/ F5 A4 U$ y, b* z% u
appropriate areas, and ensuring that the Policy and Procedures manual ( _6 n- K! l i3 R. ]

· To ensure all staff are trained in and committed to providing

that additional requests such as licensed receptions are arranged.

· To manage the venues in a manner which adequately and effectively

administrative documentation covering the venues to be used in the

costing systems to be used in connection with the determination and

manner to the Accounting Department.

5. Overall Roles and Responsibilities

: q+ C, _) o/ |needs, and contribute to the smooth operation and success of the
, Z( ?6 U" j/ ^: M3 Jvenues. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:( F% V @) \- I" [. W3 T; S
2 e# @5 c' k5 [8 v1 @% g· To recognize, develop and set in place such rental procedures as / F r2 v' G( z
may be necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the venues, this , F" j8 x1 i( C
is to include but not necessarily be limited to systems and processes $ f% p% b. G# u" l/ |! K6 H
in the areas of contracts, inventory management, contract evaluation,

to ensure the smooth, secure, efficient, cost-effective and 6 ^# D% Z5 a5 Z F
functionally-effective operation of the Horowitz Theatre.

as may be necessary to ensure the smooth, efficient and cost-

· To negotiate rental lease agreements (contracts) relating to
& L( M. k/ n. F% S7 Bdates, rates, staff and miscellaneous charges.0 b5 V1 H/ x+ z" }) Q) s
· To ensure that adequate inventory is available at all times and
$ O0 X ]! g, B0 s3 e4 Z$ Fthat such inventory is stored and issued in effective and secure ways.
5 N% F# R6 R0 d+ t" w· To consult with renters as to facility issues in producing their

· To provide the venues on-site staff with such documentation and ( H- G; z5 i* \/ j
supporting information as it may need to effectively fulfill the ( b# {- w; x8 w, h

· To produce quotes in respect to staffing costs for a particular ; P2 h( y1 u1 m0 ^
rental with consultation with the Technical Director.
! _% X+ ~3 n5 g( H, l+ i· To ensure that all queries raised with the venues whether from the 3 ~' {+ H7 X: V$ o/ G' L8 O, d
SU or renters, are promptly and effectively handled and adequately $ v! A H T5 S& g7 a. {
answered, and to ensure that such action as may be necessary in " k& |* ]& U/ K; t0 i
follow-up to such queries is taken in a timely manner.
* q& F1 {' O C+ ~* { To ensure that the venues and its capabilities are adequately,
9 M2 @' t0 U& E, Aeffectively and cost-effectively advertised and promoted, and that
. q" G1 |3 i: ^- Q; g! v7 Nthe cost of such endeavors does not exceed the budgetary provision / Z* ~5 y5 d. K& T1 B/ P7 s
made for them unless prior approval is given by the Manager of 3 q. v1 {% h9 i3 {) b! }: F

· To act as an informed and knowledgeable resource in the case of + c2 r Y6 g, o) n/ O
significant challenges and/or problems surrounding the tasks of
