focuses upon advertising and promoting the venue to faculty,

Theatre and SU Venues home page, newspaper and other advertising; to + u7 O4 v; W5 v$ ]( W

opportunities; and to develop press releases and other promotional

a. To ensure, at all times, that the venues are adequately and cost-
. f+ J8 ~% D/ @0 O+ o8 \3 Meffectively staffed, and that the staff utilized by or within the
: D3 ]* ~8 A- x& lvenues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and ! ~6 r1 H$ L+ h `( ?7 Y2 q
contribute in a positive way to the smooth operation and success of
. c% g1 r" x7 S; |the renter´s events. This includes, but is not necessarily limited # w( k1 u1 Q! `: f7 a
to, the following:
|1 b( p$ l# {% }· To be responsible, under the direction of the Manager of Venues 4 @: p1 u# C% ~! V& ^, K# @. Z
and Programming, for all staff issues including hiring, disciplining,

To ensure that the Horowitz Theatre is adequately supervised at
; u& a e# W1 z( x; u1 Y& |1 v1 J: xall times, this includes the development and implementation of such Z( U; ^: a0 A+ s( S0 x
schedules and rosters as may be necessary to ensure the effective and 2 c& ]! l+ M" N' {5 @' X$ X
cost-effective supervision of the venues at all times during which it 0 c4 ?: K7 Q5 v; E* ^
is in operation or needs to be in operation.6 ?/ y* J% R) V5 Q6 V
· To work with the Technical Director, when necessary, to ensure 4 m3 g, w, e7 ]! Y8 ~
that an adequate and appropriate level of part-time staff exists to
$ V# ` N: {% ^# b+ p+ P" tfacilitate the smooth operation of the venues and to ensure all
8 Q E* X9 u, |' \$ Xrenters needs are met.
5 b' y$ M# ~ G5 F8 w6 H- e1 e# p" [/ X· To work with the Technical Director to ensure that the skills
/ S& c+ ]" @/ @* k8 nand attitudes of all subordinate staff are appropriate in light of
0 y1 W) z# k- Z9 g" o' K6 _the roles they must perform. This includes providing adequate and ( Q* m( h# D' c& ]- y6 v
effective training (and re-training) in all applicable and . P+ |1 ?2 {$ {9 A+ Y- \3 k5 l8 h
appropriate areas, and ensuring that the Policy and Procedures manual

scheduling. To handle payroll related matters, under the guidance

· Working with the Manager of Facilities and Operations to ensure

that additional requests such as licensed receptions are arranged.

appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and contribute in a

operating budgets covering the venues to the SU´s Manager of

reflects the budgets approved for the venues and/or which reflects

administrative documentation covering the venues to be used in the

aimed at improving the financial and/or functional effectiveness of

· To ensure the existence of adequate, effective and accurate job 1 t( w0 z$ R* C+ n& h: j7 h
costing systems to be used in connection with the determination and
3 M5 C+ X' |$ ]: @setting of appropriate prices for rental and staffing rates for $ e( C# r7 K7 F/ X/ ] T) o* S

· To develop accurate documentation to be used in connection with

and administrative procedures and systems in a manner which reflects

contributes positively to the smooth operation and success of the

5. Overall Roles and Responsibilities
3 x5 O6 K) v5 ra. To ensure, at all times, that the systems and processes used in
& u% i! P) P( j: J/ l [( krenting the venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and 6 u1 d+ D3 r; r" H }
needs, and contribute to the smooth operation and success of the / a, _1 [, {& G8 v( E
venues. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
+ D0 n; |# Z! D' c( H7 v5 b# u5 D F0 E" [2 H! k8 H9 g7 K
· To recognize, develop and set in place such rental procedures as . b$ W3 ?$ j& e( A( _- H# U
may be necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the venues, this
" w$ E$ n" A/ ?& `1 `. |( V7 Eis to include but not necessarily be limited to systems and processes 9 u6 D, O: A7 l
in the areas of contracts, inventory management, contract evaluation, 3 c1 D9 W- }' r( C- K# r) @
pricing, costing, equipment usage, rental/contract invoicing, - `- O' W* _, Y/ k: k
together with such other systems and procedures as may be necessary ( l- T I0 ~ m. i
to ensure the smooth, secure, efficient, cost-effective and ( I$ _1 z$ Z6 @$ s# d. k1 J- i
functionally-effective operation of the Horowitz Theatre.
* w. ^* t! O! E" I- a. k· To recognize, develop and set in place such operational procedures
~1 |% i# N9 v1 g: U' `as may be necessary to ensure the smooth, efficient and cost-
( Z2 N( {: N! V) O* e' I$ ]- Qeffective operation of the venues.
: E! a$ G p7 J4 U8 [· To negotiate rental lease agreements (contracts) relating to
0 j/ B4 s2 M! k% u# @, @" R3 zdates, rates, staff and miscellaneous charges.
4 d+ ]. w8 F9 X" l" F! R· To ensure that adequate inventory is available at all times and ' W `: f1 I, m9 e/ P" U- z* T* _
that such inventory is stored and issued in effective and secure ways.
. {5 E: R' w. X" O9 Q7 @8 a· To consult with renters as to facility issues in producing their , p4 P% W' o/ q, }8 x
particular event in the venues.
4 Z0 t& J% }3 M0 B6 x, f· To provide the venues on-site staff with such documentation and 6 T6 v; X$ z' q9 W& U
supporting information as it may need to effectively fulfill the
- d- \ N4 J/ ?roles they are to perform to ensure the success of the renter´s event.0 U. b% j/ L& u. C0 [+ p
· To produce quotes in respect to staffing costs for a particular ' F$ T5 \9 ^9 n" L
rental with consultation with the Technical Director.6 X" m3 B- @& Z" v
· To ensure that all queries raised with the venues whether from the
/ E$ W3 J( F# O C4 p5 lSU or renters, are promptly and effectively handled and adequately & |/ K! t4 U, C
answered, and to ensure that such action as may be necessary in
3 t- h5 G8 R* g1 ffollow-up to such queries is taken in a timely manner.
+ V( O, L3 b$ ~) z6 [ To ensure that the venues and its capabilities are adequately,
$ A' w+ p6 D8 d. m% L( e2 a3 _effectively and cost-effectively advertised and promoted, and that
1 ^: r) f5 R$ i, j& U$ Hthe cost of such endeavors does not exceed the budgetary provision * p5 ~4 ?, t, G
made for them unless prior approval is given by the Manager of 5 R" `; X5 i/ }' o0 v1 u
Programming and Venues.% K$ X( u% d6 t) @+ v' a% L e
· To act as an informed and knowledgeable resource in the case of + R" v. Q' U" Q$ a
significant challenges and/or problems surrounding the tasks of * o. A# q7 r" F+ P
marketing, administration, operations, and any such other matters as 6 b3 @7 N- F w* d2 U% ?
may provide such challenges and/or problems.8 c# l5 U$ M+ w4 G, _$ X+ R+ a' J
· To attend such meetings as may be required to support the smooth

1) Minimum two years related post secondary education, or
