This is a long term posting with the successful applicants being called to fill positions on an ‘as-required’ basis.

• Transport passengers to and from destinations on prescribed scheduled routes.

• Respond to customer queries concerning transit information.
+ O; K* P1 Y- I4 {9 X4 j• Operate a Transit diesel bus and/or trolley coach, on a day, night or split shift under varying weather

• Adhere to schedules.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:. v: u' ]# `9 q8 y7 R& F
• Grade eleven (11) or an equivalent educational level is required. Formal training in driving or public relations will be considered an asset.
" P* z6 w; C- B. u' p• Proven ability to deal directly with the public, with well-developed customer service skills; the ability

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job (operate bus controls, re-set trolley poles, provide passengers with assistance i.e. strollers, wheelchairs etc.).
* k8 i9 w" M: w" `3 S• Applicant must possess a valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's license (non-probationary and non-graduated) and must have held a valid operator's license for (3) consecutive years.
! G# \ A. D4 V* [! x7 o3 X• Selected applicants must pass the Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's class 2 written test, at their own expense, prior to training. M* \3 R0 l# M! _1 y( D: w
• Applicant must provide a current driver's abstract (obtained within 14 days of the video test date) 1 [1 F0 Y8 G* m+ g5 L" ^4 l
showing no suspensions and no more than 3 demerits recorded over the previous 2 year period.
/ \2 J+ H3 g3 T• Ability to pass a written English comprehension test, a public relations video-test, a driving skill # P; E+ F3 g7 o$ M2 s7 R
video-test, a Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test, a pre-employment City medical examination and a Police Security clearance (at their own expense, prior to training).
