JOB SUMMARY: The Chief Returning Officer reports to the President of 7 F2 l7 t/ r1 y& M0 r
the Students' Union and oversees all electoral logistics as per Bylaw
7 D' \ z4 `% G/ [4 m" w/ n$ J2000. The Chief Returning Officer shall be recommended to Students'

year following their appointment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

4) To organize polls during elections/referenda, including appointing + N; {2 A9 M9 C5 f# G9 Z
adequate poll staff and situating polls at appropriate locations 7 a' H+ t5 G3 C. @3 h5 o! l
across campus, and advertising the poll locations.6 `* {- r4 S; y

5) To oversee the physical count of the ballots during elections/ * P. J& I) e% B ]6 }2 K2 t# M

% D2 j) c/ x( l5 nminimum of four (4) working hours a day, between Monday to Friday, 2 i1 v+ ~/ X; A; V: D2 m1 T
from the first working day after nominations close until the last day ! t9 q* {: h5 h/ }
of voting. These hours are to be posted in advance.

11) To act as the arbitrator in any dispute which may arise during $ [# @! s+ f. D. n h) m
the course of an election/referendum.% [% q; a7 B! w$ A t4 f
. g& }5 k* J1 O+ J, z! J12) To ensure that a cost effective and accurate ballot counting % I. C$ x7 K9 |6 \
process is in place.

13) To submit to Students' Council, prior to April 30, a final report

Union member.

any of its standing boards, committees, or any other paid position / o3 e4 u" Y# K- P) Z, K% y8 O
with the Students' Union.
