@/ T' r+ A! y0 b: _& @Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management+ |8 K) ^0 `0 _# I) u% d# s
and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a; c* q% @) I9 I# I
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta. The ED$ O# m% @4 w, F, |; G2 W2 h: _
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
' |: I0 G+ J; A7 k. x# \policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
+ v$ n& N+ O2 _$ k; I$ Y! ^% Naffairs at all times.4 _" b0 h7 |2 c3 X

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a8 u$ g( u8 Z3 } p6 y3 W' r; }
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative* h3 `# |4 z% G* R$ y' y
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,7 W/ ^' f# k; s& s% v
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports) w. Q3 V& B2 O P- |& a# n
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
3 x( B; P& u' v3 t$ n7 Y2 Kto implement the organizational policies.

PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded5 P. U8 U* M1 P- l% @
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and! h k+ k. J {
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
" W& B; W% w S, ?/ R& j- uthe right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

( k, D5 s8 U3 {( TIn addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the

that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups# U* E O3 G: i1 L, }# b
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government1 f' j, N0 M1 v3 c; Z6 S& A
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of, }& }2 j) h, N. }& z3 Y
organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to2 A% C1 v3 [1 M3 K8 a& Z
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
n, T- Z$ A" ], o1 s4 S7 d# lmanaging projects and budgets.- ?& M0 |9 p! C {7 {6 o) v
