ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

The CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.' l6 D0 j; }" a2 d4 a: z

Education Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.' f4 n G( _0 K

Qualifications:
4 G; E& f, Y) R2 E5 N1. Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
/ ~$ t: C4 u8 ?; W( U2. Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.2 E7 r" b3 A( Z
3. Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
4 N- a2 k2 K, ]/ Z. V5 X4. Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
