ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

Salary: $12.00 per hour

The CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.

" K6 l0 h0 B* H. @  FEducation Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.

1.        Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
  M" ]' X6 I" H) v" O7 s8 Y# i2.        Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
8 {! U/ L; X+ U6 x2 J6 r4 A" A' m3.        Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
0 w2 U1 T4 f. O$ u4.        Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
