ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

Salary: $12.00 per hour

Position Responsibilities

' U, S6 N4 \6 Y8 d& g2 f: rCommunity Initiatives Documenter
( |3 ~% c" o6 C+ j8 N% e* m" ZThe CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.

Education Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.

Qualifications:
' v+ j: b: Z8 T. c1.        Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
8 O: a0 k' s' F# M2 `- D2.        Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
$ g& ~, T4 F! ^! w7 s3.        Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
& `" i3 F) J$ w, z8 A1 q! X- B. l4.        Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
