ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action. 3 a/ y' M6 Y! Community Initiatives Documenter

P. {7 X* `: h4 M3 nThe CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.

T. P' u' G" U5 OEducation Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.

Qualifications:
1 {2 a# j( o8 \4 N6 J/ S1. Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.% U2 k! V1 D: a) H1 \' Q5 U0 D/ N) y
2. Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.1 M) a3 g6 w# N. q: O
3. Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.! b8 y& e+ a: g, a9 m
4. Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
