22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday  
through Friday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
cleanliness and order in the bar.

$ q9 e7 |" H( e) @, k2 Z' hDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* m, r7 _9 p- U% n# T7 j2 u1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
0 O4 _" B( I8 h9 F3 obeverage items.
5 m% Z3 X+ @+ u$ E+ J) i. M
' @: C# {+ o0 Z; Q6 ?2 L' f2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
bar and debit floats.

4 ]/ Y- ?$ A* L0 `0 }/ A' ^: a/ q3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
2 s9 q0 c, T& Q, f8 C* }' peach shift, and upon closing.

" V" s; s  D  `7 o4 b" E$ c8 B4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
, w6 P: D0 u+ T1 e4 \% @attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
5 j& a3 ]+ X; x* C9 H" U9 Tseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

" c8 Y% U0 Q0 X* n; f5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

8 f4 [" c0 K* C6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
8 x  V. r- v/ ^4 {9 i% o! Caccordance with Students' Union policies.

7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
* v: q/ N+ G" CAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

0 A9 b3 g; p! \/ c. x! n' T9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
Senior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

: G# r! u5 h/ q# q5 WQUALIFICATIONS:
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

. O9 c0 P# }. n0 p4 g; D9 V0 u2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
( t# f* t  [# d& g( q* t  S1 }operation.

/ V* r+ n, b% i; ~3 H8 g9 ?3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
* N6 }2 }: c; q* e5 [" qaccordance with Students' Union policy.

8 f0 ~( I. R) p4 C4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic

Union position
Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
