BARTENDER - Room At The Top (RATT) - includes some serving

- i- H; i* W: l+ Z5 AJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  - W4 r5 B4 V8 U  e0 E; A
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
2 R4 A% B; V. ~procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  : j; z3 P6 `0 `$ U7 D
cleanliness and order in the bar.9 I7 f* a/ p& W( y
  g3 q' X, c, F- [  \* e+ `% s" P
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1 E+ W8 Z  h$ i3 f, @
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  $ t8 j1 n1 c: t8 _2 [& C  a7 H
beverage items., i" R0 v( `. j* T/ O! }5 ]8 {
2 w9 e+ g; d1 L/ t
2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
# D' G3 `! t0 K  N# |bar and debit floats.: Y% C- o+ ^: l& v  l* L8 P

: k& e2 }) r& B( X3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
' j% h2 o! o, V3 ^- b" M, ^9 beach shift, and upon closing.* p( O5 N0 K" H* S' u( ]4 i

4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  4 a! t( ?2 v! I+ }
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
7 y8 L8 f" j* Eseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.7 p" i  B& g% g+ R) u0 B/ i! s
9 w! V( r) L8 _& x4 z
5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  ! n& f5 p8 y$ T3 `/ r
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  , ~; U) @& s0 }
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift./ p6 y6 ^+ F$ J2 \9 o

& K1 W/ V! q) L; i& {  O6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
% e6 b# N) _. B2 ~8 Y8 Zmonitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  % Y& p- q( [3 p: l) W7 r) S
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  7 a) _; `) L2 |! u: O6 {
accordance with Students' Union policies.. _7 }4 I2 ]" T+ R8 q4 H$ N5 [

7 ?; d% _! I6 R7 i/ W* j; O7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
4 U7 t( P7 y" O. ahigh standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.% h+ Q, O# N! z# V7 c, l4 U5 \7 e
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
$ Y% Z2 L2 i; I3 \Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.* g& C0 f/ R9 M

9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
0 k- L- ~6 d: |& @Senior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

8 n4 c+ d8 X3 r( w9 LQUALIFICATIONS:
- I; i( K6 K# n8 C* Y1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.# N) r; H' y) n3 H  `& P' z" ?
3 r- ]3 u3 w0 y. C4 J4 {3 u
2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  7 X- d6 P4 y' L9 L( x
operation.; a) D+ V0 ?8 w2 ~6 C

7 @. J1 E( w2 K6 H% y0 ]& B3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  7 g  |# G0 t$ N1 v* j
accordance with Students' Union policy.! ?6 w" ?9 c. s, A

0 W  H, [" e3 m9 v- h. n4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.2 L' S) T, y/ ^5 t/ d- t7 ?

5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  ; [( ~# l$ q, k' B4 P2 H! _, o
Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
- O; Q9 Y$ P4 |* W( O7 |- ?! {attitude.* Y" H; ?5 b0 U

Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food
