BARTENDER - Room At The Top (RATT) - includes some serving

22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  % F4 R& T6 ]1 s4 f+ t  H5 f7 ?8 s
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
- \4 y- ]" i0 K: s) yprocedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
( E7 k4 K$ }0 S5 Bcleanliness and order in the bar./ |& k0 T3 S* K/ G; i
% I2 y+ w4 w  P0 q/ y
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
# M7 f$ H( q8 e8 w! w0 T1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
9 m# t. u: o$ C+ j' ]beverage items.
$ g0 V; U( p/ I$ A! v; P# K5 q& @8 ^/ y  ~7 P$ Y
2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
  \( g7 W9 N0 Bbar and debit floats.
/ i! i3 h8 Q  @8 s1 M
% B% _- l2 g! I, m: M! v3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  3 b, ?$ H. S, a  _
each shift, and upon closing.

6 R8 R/ k  B9 E, a4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
  Y! A/ p2 N( Eattention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  0 r& i5 J) K7 G  f- N% H
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.8 b* ^/ H0 V* }; q  a
& ~9 r: G: u, i$ ?) m4 b, f: G5 `0 x
5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
0 M+ q8 \1 L8 v% u; Lstorage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
/ m/ f% M7 b7 }2 x; K/ P+ \products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

; @! V3 Y! D& P* O6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  4 ?. G* m7 N7 W  ~/ q
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
4 B" X% ~9 ^) u+ w( Q3 c. v8 S, Dhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  4 Q7 v5 I+ r. ]  @. Q
accordance with Students' Union policies.

- H$ N: k1 t  E) r" k- M7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
4 Q+ d1 W+ j/ i: r5 N6 z& nhigh standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
8 |  ]+ M2 Q- o# Z2 S* ]2 G To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
% c; u+ b: x: C. YAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
& ]) E- c/ S% Q6 tSenior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:
, x: }+ \4 m5 I3 ?  p: c, |1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.3 `( K/ f( t" k
4 j1 l1 p6 l% @* x' \
2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
8 E# b1 \  c- foperation.
8 T) H7 `; X. ]) X# s7 m! `$ p+ B1 p% ?$ U" L+ o
3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  9 s$ V, L: A4 \
accordance with Students' Union policy.7 K2 b, J- P3 I( [4 l

" m' V* U2 i. h# B1 G. I' Z4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.
$ [. l% i  W, E, T& o* n/ q1 G* a2 q/ n
5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
# K( |1 F, ?, b2 a) D9 j! [Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  5 i7 J9 F- Z6 b2 {5 J/ N% |
attitude.
