11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and  
Thursdays

% w; _& p9 ^5 y4 ?2 {: b! ZJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
customer service and room cleanliness.

3 z; m2 ?2 Q  }DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
2 X9 Y( `2 C" lorders.
) a% d0 S) ^' U. o
. z; F+ l/ _# k! o2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
9 V: V9 F2 u  h0 _- k. F* H1 Xhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
% S& E: O% O: `, t. A  _! ?accordance with Students' Union policies.
) N# w4 S/ S4 c: F$ w
3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.
+ W4 z! h8 f" o9 ?3 w
. t/ E2 }6 a. K  D4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
1 a" D/ s. J( e# p) g" Cincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
and ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
$ ?1 K- n2 l2 M/ c6 v' Aaction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
! X/ a; ^# S$ vAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
$ u9 e, h: O# t& [; wManager.

. `: T# E% [1 h) PQUALIFICATIONS;
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

6 P9 o2 i. K! a1 k- c* }( H. p2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.
* K; t5 n  _% P1 p& Z
3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
% j+ S2 U9 G) u- q! j* Kpolicy.
3 g* g, _7 i2 p4 ]( a
( O' M  t6 i9 m1 A4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
1 e. a; {4 R% s! x. j8 u9 D8 Y, ccard transactions.

5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
- b; N+ J3 T: U3 o- ^1 Pprofessional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

) L# i. H7 U/ uWage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
