11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
customer service and room cleanliness.


) ]' ]2 N! K5 p$ X1 P7 `4 NDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
9 ?# a4 t) c2 P% z1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.

2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
+ e  }. o( Q  N/ G. Z. E: H# L6 |high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
% o! P% C9 r2 B' iaccordance with Students' Union policies.

  y9 ]1 c6 J3 u2 S; S8 _3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
" k$ A: G5 e7 J' S% e* B  dtotal cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
including regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
4 K" G4 N5 P1 W  R( @" A  P# ^and ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
! F- `/ x+ a6 z0 W, a; O' gaction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
" r" ]9 c4 Q6 Wintervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
' O- f1 Q! s. X) D2 b$ M0 \1 qManager.

0 g6 D2 D* a, [# hQUALIFICATIONS;
2 e! V2 Q% _5 y; f% |6 r1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
) M- W5 x9 M" J  K% m" T3 W
2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
" h. d0 ~: y1 I4 D5 y( s9 ]/ Qoperation.

& Y9 G" e* w) I$ i3 K9 F+ f, u6 M' ?3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
. r; Z9 o( ]# l& I/ f: R; ppolicy.
" ?- Y( S  F+ E) l% v# O
4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
& y; {) Z( k: I% r7 ecard transactions.

5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
; j; }( l" U. f, Y1 k7 eprofessional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
2 V& X# V5 }+ w! b! b9 N9 Y. Ipurchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
