SERVER (RATT)

& m/ d4 n4 i1 m1 {% R) D! J11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and  
Thursdays

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
  _0 [8 g0 F2 a. A8 i& B3 |Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
& Q5 k  C3 h1 }6 `5 y% Gcarrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
customer service and room cleanliness.

& b/ x2 s, r8 c
: H6 F3 `6 S- A8 t( }DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
* r' Z3 `" c3 }! b! Z+ \1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.

2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
& e# M' w4 o* p( L' rhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.

+ f2 z7 l4 `8 {. B3 }6 d! R0 s3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
/ Y, P/ E  Z+ p* A% d" ptotal cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

  G- I" y1 M- b, U0 z0 y& O' J! I4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
including regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
* X, k6 b5 }  T* Pand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

4 s% E8 X4 x& J; w9 \+ u1 M  \& e5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
. q& g/ l- s: w) _! J/ a2 Zaction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

  l$ m* H3 g5 e! p% t% Q5 ~7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS;
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
& G1 w. a  d$ P7 W" G) n- _
3 r" f$ E5 b6 W2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.
/ t2 F8 Y3 `- q9 W& H7 a, t( H) q
3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
6 h. i$ |' R6 b, Y. _0 I8 qpolicy.
( L1 R/ y! p+ k; Y5 m
4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
card transactions.
" _& S6 M/ L/ M4 ^) a* `9 S, F( S
5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
