currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

0 \" [; M" e! ?8 d. sSalary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
pay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

/ [: U0 {% o5 T& Q. wHours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
the student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
7 U/ k( ~1 w5 x7 Z. F3 \5 r' a. ~school year starts.

- t3 K) d- i1 x! V" ZDuties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
- S- f4 R; u+ [+ ~1 f: N; r# \* X; m9 VCIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
  ~* M0 `* l9 H3 r, L/ `* Ovenues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
7 i! V; F3 T1 V' E/ N+ setc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
their program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
their program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
venue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
outings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
9 g2 E. E6 E7 L/ d/ C" N, l$ Xexcursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
' a) [: K, t' P- Afunctions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
4 P; A" p+ E9 s! Z' c# K! Ysuch as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

Qualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
& ~4 v: }, U" Z% b8 H, l: mfluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
6 o" G& J: ~4 J* ?& X9 h# S- mof co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
$ d/ e" n- c/ i& a% T. zskills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
  Y: l6 @) K: l: jExcel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
+ u# D9 W* n" F1 Y" F) R) Qexperience coordinating group activities an asset.
