currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
8 M. l' p" ~2 H1 i" d# }pay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
the student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the

, C; n, S+ X( B) o1 |5 JDuties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
3 T. V" D8 y9 h7 v5 ~CIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
venues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
/ m0 d  k1 j1 V/ y" b4 Letc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
) _3 R1 y4 y+ ]6 J0 w# \1 \; d# z- V' cparticipants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
" Z; D- z  I0 I8 v1 Ttheir program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
their program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
) ?4 @8 E; {; E$ L# K2 h6 ~% ^venue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
! h6 k1 }! |7 _4 X' C& C* Boutings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
excursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
functions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
9 C& a& c1 ~# a2 `! lsuch as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

Qualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
! M0 W  K/ [7 Q* fof co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
: m4 Z+ y3 Y0 t+ A! N% g" Kskills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
4 T. J- [1 i$ e$ o/ e+ |Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
" `# G$ I9 n  W4 G! a& Z' Aexperience coordinating group activities an asset.
