The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

! Q& e: t- r* _9 U5 O" ?( ZDuties include: working closely with graduate students and research
3 n* Z. e) i8 _8 ~technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
& s5 \5 O, ~; M; }for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
% `$ K. F7 n$ C1 y/ linclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

( x! s9 i  v. i9 t% k( AQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
