Hourly rate: $20 ($40,101 per annum prorated at 12 hours per week)

Job description
" }% j+ E# L) G3 o- _Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and5 @# d/ ]: q4 V% s6 d
weekend hours.0 R' d7 J9 [8 ~. C5 I6 V6 q
You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer' v. H; O# z4 U6 s, R. N
lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
% ~( V0 Z" w6 p. Bcentre.
4 e$ z5 _5 ~ v; SThese responsibilities include:) v% `* M% k0 M& b1 n
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
2 R9 A6 J! K( W# f7 P. ^) m-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
: w# p& l( J! C0 A6 e: T-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and4 [, F) o6 a* x W
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to ) \2 d6 m% o# q: F, [, o
facilities’ maintenance, etc.
9 T- a, J2 T- X0 T6 I-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic
/ R, v+ y% n; Z" xclients’ files etc.
! o3 j& u/ \: i" q" { MStatement of Qualifications
+ H L6 r0 k% f' E2 Y+ NEducation: . _& B9 T' a, y7 \6 T
-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
* i+ l4 t' [; `- r" A6 m$ leducation, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination 2 a# x. |* o9 L0 [8 h" b8 a g& G/ s
of education, training and /or experience. 1 }1 z# g) V% B7 k' \
Knowledge/Technical competencies:
T2 [1 L) s* H-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.6 Y& P4 {& @: u% t8 ]
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word8 d1 B! f( Y1 Q9 Z- W3 h: d; \2 O
and Excel.
8 m9 _/ q% I6 h7 O7 ~* w-Experience using and updating an information database. - U9 O, ^/ K5 N" O
9 N' x( L) h6 _3 mAssets:& c" T* C) K8 [3 ^3 j+ h9 A: Y
-Experience in using MS Access.
% B) ?+ R) t) B7 g) Y/ S-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
. f9 y0 q$ t7 h/ R3 t2 J-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA$ f3 c, M: @9 r8 z1 K

-Ability to operate a computerized system to research information.
