% U8 X6 Q- [1 mThe two-year project, facing 111th Street, will add 126,000 square feet of leasable space on the ground floor — and two levels of parking above.

“Part of the redevelopment will include enhanced site lighting and closed-circuit TV security systems monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Southgate general manager Paul Fairbridge.

The expansion is expected to create at least 500 new full-time and part-time jobs.. e) m( a( R4 }7 H* H, K I9 `: m! g
& t% M2 n8 }/ @1 G* J+ uSouthgate, a 36-year-old mall located south and west of 51st Avenue and 111th Street, now has 130 stores and services. It is owned by Ivanhoe Cambridge, based in Montreal.
