Calgary police have now laid charges against an 18-year-old Calgary woman following the death of a little girl at a crosswalk in the city's northwest.: b1 @# S% @/ N6 u
Police Sgt. Doug McIlwraith said Tuesday that Angela Ta has been charged with passing a motor vehicle stopped for a pedestrian at a crosswalk, failing to yield at a crosswalk, and careless driving.9 t& C2 u+ F2 `& k4 u% o5 D7 `
McIlwraith says the charges could mean a licence suspension, a $2,000 fine or six months in jail.
# [: T6 Z/ ~% \* b% ^Six-year-old Jenna Chang and her mother, Ye Qiao, were struck Jan. 18 by a black BMW while using a marked crosswalk at 32 Avenue and 37 Street N.W.
