Today I was volunteering at a post office. A man in an old jacket with uncombed hair came to the counter. He had a wallet in his hand, and put it on the counter. He told me:

$ d) P1 F5 {0 lI did not understand what he meant by "it", because usually people would send a letter or a parcel back to the sender, and I did not see he had any of those. So I asked him:
) {9 Y- v0 j/ n5 S$ S: t: q* B "I am sorry, what are you sending back?"
0 `& \* p- Q; p; g0 AHe said, "the Wallet, I am sending back the wallet." Then he added: "I am going to pay the postage."
* S2 T0 k* g: A3 [# I"Oh, you found a wallet, and you are going to send it back to the person who lost it?" ( i) E c/ G( L1 r6 C8 ~0 C
"Yes, I did."
% }1 t r+ M* H! z3 [9 O4 B% kFinally I understood: this dishevelled man found a wallet, and he was going to return it to the owner by post.
& M% Q3 k; T* Y6 qHe took the ID card from the wallet, and showed me the address of the loser of the wallet. I saw there were several one-hundred bills in the wallet. 2 ~$ y1 m) H5 `1 _) l& s, w
"Are you going to take some money from the wallet to pay the postage?"
% _/ E; N V2 [2 N; k# V"No, I am not. I do not do those things."* d ^+ N7 q$ P! b
He took out his wallet, which was nearly worn-out, small, and almost empty. There were some coins inside. . J- g u' W; i7 ~1 g/ Q
I gave him a bubbled envelope, and instructed him where to write the addresses. He wrote the owner's address, but stopped at writing a return address. He asked:
! L7 m9 j0 R. w) R"Is it okay that I do not write this part?"1 s V9 m7 @" N, s; W, l
"Yes, you may." I thought he must want to be a nameless hero. But he said:
3 g4 @. i; ^$ r, x* `' ?"I do not have an address."
# G3 d0 D1 o& gI was surprised: "oh, where do you live?"
2 a8 c" H! \6 MHe did not look up, and said: "I do not have a home."
% i+ S) _7 S% |- p& ^) zMy heart had a sudden jump. I realized that this is a homeless man who found money but was sending it back to the person who lost it.
& E; G9 p+ P! B4 M$ S( GHe did not a posses a home, but he had a big heart. He had the precious fortune of being a man of integrity.
