Job Description:         

JOB FUNCTIONS:

* g$ D2 V' o3 k• Support capital projects and network build activity with coordination, installation, and commissioning duties • Respond to corrective network problems, performing effective/efficient problem analysis, rapid troubleshooting diagnosis and prompt repair of equipment to ensure service restoral objectives are met.

• Coordinate with other Technicians and departments as required to obtain maintain service levels.

+ k# W2 W. w8 q3 {• Plan for and implement preventive maintenance routines to ensure network standards of performance are met.

• Perform cutovers and upgrades on the network as directed by work orders.

• Maintain "up-to-date" site documentation as outlined by the EWO initiative.

• Perform acceptance tests on newly installed sites and equipment to ensure results meet design specifications.

8 ]/ @1 u$ [1 B- l, _1 p• Microwave and Transmission experience (e.g. DS1, DS2 ,DS3, OC3, OC12, IP) • Gain in depth knowledge of key quality service indicators in geographic area of responsibility.

• Optical Fiber, SONET and knowledge of TCP/IP • Participate in retune activities associated with network optimization and build activities.

• Maintain inventory of required parts and perform regular audits to ensure availability of parts.

/ [3 c5 L. D$ h! U* g8 Q3 u; c! h• Administrative reporting of Mileage, Timesheet, Expenses, Equipment and Deficiency ticket updates etc.

' w) ^; [# v  l# b. Y4 W2 L• Test hand-offs, RSSI, transmit level on mobiles, dropped calls and investigate any changes.

• Document activities for future assessment analysis.

: R7 Q5 j) i! N! T• Maintain current documentation of site status, complete trouble tickets, incident report and other required reports.

• Shift work, overtime, and 24 hour on-call support may be required on a regular rotational basis.



QUALIFICATIONS:

$ L( i1 y+ m* r0 h• 5 years of telecommunications experience.

' q; H1 n+ D& g4 d8 w" J4 E3 h• Diploma or Certificate in Electronics from a technical institute.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

-Telecom Diploma with at least 2 years of post secondary education -Experience working at a cell site -Must be willing to travel around Alberta (expenses will be reimbursed) -Experience with Spectrum Analyzers, Internet Protocol Analyzers, RFC testing and Microwave testing *The manager is not looking for Engineers.
