Job Description:

- V" h& a' X, h8 |; W& W8 @8 G5 _• Support capital projects and network build activity with coordination, installation, and commissioning duties • Respond to corrective network problems, performing effective/efficient problem analysis, rapid troubleshooting diagnosis and prompt repair of equipment to ensure service restoral objectives are met.

; y6 M% X8 z3 ]• Coordinate with other Technicians and departments as required to obtain maintain service levels.

• Plan for and implement preventive maintenance routines to ensure network standards of performance are met.

• Perform cutovers and upgrades on the network as directed by work orders.

% ]) H  m, F5 o• Maintain "up-to-date" site documentation as outlined by the EWO initiative.

* g' i3 T7 C- n9 `• Perform acceptance tests on newly installed sites and equipment to ensure results meet design specifications.

9 z' y# f% @  L! }3 y) q• Microwave and Transmission experience (e.g. DS1, DS2 ,DS3, OC3, OC12, IP) • Gain in depth knowledge of key quality service indicators in geographic area of responsibility.

• Optical Fiber, SONET and knowledge of TCP/IP • Participate in retune activities associated with network optimization and build activities.

• Maintain inventory of required parts and perform regular audits to ensure availability of parts.

• Administrative reporting of Mileage, Timesheet, Expenses, Equipment and Deficiency ticket updates etc.

• Test hand-offs, RSSI, transmit level on mobiles, dropped calls and investigate any changes.

• Shift work, overtime, and 24 hour on-call support may be required on a regular rotational basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5 years of telecommunications experience.

• Diploma or Certificate in Electronics from a technical institute.

! k+ A9 Q, X9 N9 u, G. B9 ]  z• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

-Telecom Diploma with at least 2 years of post secondary education -Experience working at a cell site -Must be willing to travel around Alberta (expenses will be reimbursed) -Experience with Spectrum Analyzers, Internet Protocol Analyzers, RFC testing and Microwave testing *The manager is not looking for Engineers.
