Orientation 2006: The Action Starts Here! Your registration in the University of
1 D0 q. f0 t) X8 Q0 G' HAlberta's Orientation program is now confirmed. In addition, we would
# l4 `7 y4 {! v9 _4 Vlike to thank you for your interest in the My Undergraduate Groups
4 c1 u5 `& J: @0 a% g0 F(MUGs) Program; you have been signed-up for the 2006-2007 school year. By
; h5 U( @+ A3 ]* c+ f: M" V3 A" B: p cattending both Orientation and MUGs, you will receive a great deal of
$ S( Y5 z! E' R: q- j! Cinformation that will make your transition to the University community
/ b6 ~3 x& |% L8 W- H- |more successful.

Orientation 2006 will be held on Monday, September 4th and Tuesday,
f+ A W* p* q# \7 O% w8 V" t' VSeptember 4th, 2006. Check in is at 9:30am on September 4th. Your check
* z K @# C# z1 ?! c0 K' v, min location is T B 105 in the Henry Marshall Tory Building, which can

Orientation 2006 will be held on Monday, September 4th and Tuesday,

to find your check in location all by yourself, there will be hundreds
& u: w; k, C' q* r$ P5 ^) \/ gof volunteers ready to help you when you get to campus. Specifically
' m0 X( N0 W/ Blook for the volunteers in bright colored t-shirts, as they have a wealth . c$ D# X6 Z q3 J5 J/ ]5 A1 g3 i% W
of directional information.

Both days run on a similar schedule, from 9:30am to 6pm, with evening 9 T2 q& q% }! v: r1 I
activities planned for both days. Throughout the 2 days you will attend
; v$ p3 f% \5 [" }9 ?, k- P4 g Ra variety of sessions crucial to your success at the U of A. On Tuesday
+ M9 e) o- ~1 i' _evening we host our highlight event, the President's Address, in 1 H% a3 P8 x: g2 Y4 k0 \2 s' }
Hawrelak Park.

& m+ S6 j2 F" O; f6 X' ~. UYou will also meet your MUG Leader and the rest of your MUG group on 9 \" z( y2 U: n) ]: n/ i/ l
September 4th, with whom you will spend the two days at Orientation 2006, 1 Q- R) T9 e: P9 `8 }1 f& i# U
and then continue to meet with for the entire year.

$ j- T+ `# W# V' ^" t) [0 bBoth MUGs and Orientation 2006 will provide many opportunities for you
$ B% V& f( `* C0 m# R9 u5 | `3 Dto get all of your questions answered and to meet other students from
[% G k _1 Yyour faculty. Among other things, you are scheduled to receive your 2 o7 X! [7 {2 \- x' T
ONECard on one of the two days of Orientation 2006. To be able to process ) p8 t' O( Z J8 f, {
your ONECard, you will need to bring your acceptance letter and a piece : n9 S' b% J4 v
of government-issued photo ID. You will also need to bring your Campus
% ]# K! ?: W8 f2 w1 Y5 G4 KComputing ID (CCID), which was sent by e-mail from AICT (Academic 6 g' }/ G+ Q& s; O# u# S: R
Information and Communications Technologies). Dress for the weather and
1 n$ {) S, C8 n( Xbring either money or food for up to four meals (lunch and dinner for the " ^ a" ^2 L2 ^
two days of Orientation).
