Orientation 2006: The Action Starts Here! Your registration in the University of : g5 v7 S( g5 B" A
Alberta's Orientation program is now confirmed. In addition, we would
0 w |4 }4 E+ Alike to thank you for your interest in the My Undergraduate Groups 7 f( I6 I( m( P; X, C
(MUGs) Program; you have been signed-up for the 2006-2007 school year. By & e z# U$ T q" x0 i- S9 n
attending both Orientation and MUGs, you will receive a great deal of
( p% J6 P. n4 Tinformation that will make your transition to the University community
+ ^# W( t! R3 T# q1 dmore successful.

If you are unfamiliar with campus you can visit
) C# {" l: v: [6 f0 |- Ewww.campusmap.ualberta.ca to find your check in location. However, don't worry about having 6 r! T5 I9 j* i; v( w; e7 B1 H8 ?
to find your check in location all by yourself, there will be hundreds ) L1 X4 ^+ g* a: Z9 b9 {6 a
of volunteers ready to help you when you get to campus. Specifically 0 }" S& L2 r5 b+ y8 N
look for the volunteers in bright colored t-shirts, as they have a wealth ( G' T* _& y- K' L# R- I
of directional information.
& C0 K' ?6 c9 l1 j* J8 H* s* ~ y# o7 O2 e/ L' e+ z q
Both days run on a similar schedule, from 9:30am to 6pm, with evening
6 ~' J- e6 B" L0 q7 O/ Hactivities planned for both days. Throughout the 2 days you will attend
+ H1 ]: s7 W3 L' w0 f0 ha variety of sessions crucial to your success at the U of A. On Tuesday ! l7 {- Z* C5 q5 e3 j6 `
evening we host our highlight event, the President's Address, in
) }+ M0 N: m8 B% LHawrelak Park.
" X: i ?8 l& h: x. U, |0 e, N5 b7 m/ H) N0 r; |" f" j/ S
You will also meet your MUG Leader and the rest of your MUG group on 1 V2 d% j+ L( K1 n# l4 c3 J
September 4th, with whom you will spend the two days at Orientation 2006,
; o* M" _# R! D4 k, dand then continue to meet with for the entire year.
l }7 ?0 _1 E1 F0 x2 o% \9 z* Z" [+ G6 o9 K
Both MUGs and Orientation 2006 will provide many opportunities for you
+ a* N& G" b0 ~, l$ K. T, Vto get all of your questions answered and to meet other students from
1 O* u+ `8 z6 h8 t% Eyour faculty. Among other things, you are scheduled to receive your
& p" N1 u! r& KONECard on one of the two days of Orientation 2006. To be able to process
, H. X% E! A wyour ONECard, you will need to bring your acceptance letter and a piece
& o) n" q# k, Uof government-issued photo ID. You will also need to bring your Campus
/ N m6 [/ h3 p8 A; YComputing ID (CCID), which was sent by e-mail from AICT (Academic : I3 ]) f' U4 q& W
Information and Communications Technologies). Dress for the weather and ! x! ]6 B" J) [' p7 K5 [
bring either money or food for up to four meals (lunch and dinner for the 5 }' v4 I/ C' e( ^( l v7 P
two days of Orientation).( e& r8 I7 {3 L, }
