Orientation 2006: The Action Starts Here! Your registration in the University of

like to thank you for your interest in the My Undergraduate Groups 9 m, @3 w0 V0 P: M8 K V
(MUGs) Program; you have been signed-up for the 2006-2007 school year. By
- v0 n6 }1 ~9 ^( w3 C% \; nattending both Orientation and MUGs, you will receive a great deal of
* K( z/ `3 l6 k- Minformation that will make your transition to the University community

If you are unfamiliar with campus you can visit

" h8 X9 k1 c) ~of volunteers ready to help you when you get to campus. Specifically * R9 F* S" @- v; I
look for the volunteers in bright colored t-shirts, as they have a wealth
; ~6 |# Z. `3 q& r- _0 I" Iof directional information.% A6 D( C, @7 F: P7 z
* F. R6 i) r" D& O: O+ ^# vBoth days run on a similar schedule, from 9:30am to 6pm, with evening $ r, {- s: w; q! v; ~. Y
activities planned for both days. Throughout the 2 days you will attend . s% \. h" `3 r0 D6 B
a variety of sessions crucial to your success at the U of A. On Tuesday + I! e, ~% d2 ^) p" k5 Z
evening we host our highlight event, the President's Address, in 3 H0 u# O' Y- P# J
Hawrelak Park.

You will also meet your MUG Leader and the rest of your MUG group on
8 W m( [+ a& x0 C; R# ?( BSeptember 4th, with whom you will spend the two days at Orientation 2006, % O& y1 V+ B% { \( X$ w
and then continue to meet with for the entire year.7 G. y3 [( _: _, M- R8 {' L

Both MUGs and Orientation 2006 will provide many opportunities for you / f7 ^$ e1 H3 R2 I5 k! F# Y
to get all of your questions answered and to meet other students from
$ J" j% T. W0 O4 R( W6 s! yyour faculty. Among other things, you are scheduled to receive your + _, V- m6 g9 Q+ w" E6 U" K9 U$ C$ l
ONECard on one of the two days of Orientation 2006. To be able to process
) G% U( K1 w; K2 dyour ONECard, you will need to bring your acceptance letter and a piece 7 @( s4 g7 T1 U# g0 N8 o: T+ [2 Q2 D/ r
of government-issued photo ID. You will also need to bring your Campus
' t% ]+ p: v5 p c' }/ O# J. }4 dComputing ID (CCID), which was sent by e-mail from AICT (Academic
+ n E9 f) u& j6 L! g/ WInformation and Communications Technologies). Dress for the weather and 7 G& L; a& j) {& U9 g0 K0 J
bring either money or food for up to four meals (lunch and dinner for the " i( W& q7 O0 p5 I$ I
two days of Orientation).2 a! [+ c& B) U# _- n* y4 q
