Drilling Engineer

Reporting to the Team Lead for Drilling and completions, the Senior Drilling Engineer will perform all aspects of well design including; Casing and Tubing Design, Mud Systems, Fluid Hydraulics, Primary and Remedial Cementing, Specialized Technical Software for tubular design and effect improvements in drilling efficacy.% q7 q ^7 ?$ J6 l

Must be proficient with technical software, specifically related to drilling engineering e.g. stresscheck
/ R4 k T. v' q! T' k- pFor each well, confirm casing/tubing stress analysis, mud/hydraulics programs, cementing program, collision avoidance criteria& D( G! e' Z7 [! y
Prepare Drilling Program, Basis of Design, ADW and other special operations programs as required in the course of the operation ( ?9 `3 ^* H! n2 \
Steward to the recently implemented Well Delivery Model for Suncor including multi discipline peer reviews and post well reviews
% H! [, o9 q0 r& L- w% K; \Prepare End of Well Report which details cost analysis, operation analysis and provides recommendations for continuous improvement
- m- ^+ D/ {3 A" S# O7 y- d; lPrepare technical specifications to be used in tenders for materials, services and equipment used in the drilling operations
0 P$ I8 T, V: p( S$ T( Q5 {8 f6 gStays abreast of current technology and Best Practices within and industry and recommend the application of new technology
; M5 m: F U$ oPrepare management of change for drilling programs as needed; j+ w9 Y6 B0 _. r3 k7 a3 o( }
Communicate regularly with the cross discipline members of the NAO Team on progression, lessons learned cost and efficiency improvements as well as investigation on operational setbacks

0 H% H# O4 ^( O; VParticipate in cross company technical forums on drilling and completion technology

The preferred candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA
" m- Q* _7 M3 f. r4 t. bMust be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word & Excel as well as casing design software such as Stresscheck or equivalent. f: D+ ^2 |; u$ M- T8 m
Service company or oil company drilling or completions operations experience preferred: S5 j6 ?9 M. L/ i# M
Field supervisor experience will be an asset7 K( {8 H) g" T2 D; y( s3 W
