Job Purpose:
' F# h) g1 t0 o" ?7 u& x' }To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. . o' m0 W$ p* s7 Y' ^+ p) i

• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;; I" {5 l: [% D+ Z$ j. y
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
, c, F: J& \0 b. _• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;

• Risk Management and succession planning;7 }) x" H7 v7 j

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
" G$ B) M* r) u$ ?9 c2 x% H- j- B# I• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
" a! m N8 `9 u$ q: p6 q$ p; F• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;6 j& J1 ^/ \! ~! H
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
% S& M6 x' f% \5 `2 h• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
. u1 k$ R8 u! }9 b) R+ {5 ?" [• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
2 x2 D/ j! o+ F+ O/ r3 h• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
1 f9 [3 I$ K' B6 ]4 p) y4 h# z• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;

Qualifications:
( m+ E5 E$ K: R2 k% H& p7 I• Degree in communications, human services or related field;0 |5 d1 I0 Q' j0 _% y! M; X8 n
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;* c8 ]# f" u5 q9 D" M
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
$ q4 @( N0 T/ G0 u; z& Y• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;' z2 ]; |- W- ?( {. a; Q
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.& f6 J% v( k) w5 d" ~( R' A
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;! ^1 |- J& \# u' L: ~
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;" ]# N8 d4 \. W# @; X w
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
+ {- q2 U& ~- z2 C• Current valid drivers license;& z. ]9 K) I8 j' k% K' l! K
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
# W `) [9 S8 D$ [1 z8 q• Conflict resolution skills;
. F0 w! G; Z% }• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
# h2 Q/ R. T# t0 g$ a# ~* ?) X; F% n• Committed and passionate about children;
