0 C' x9 b' F8 H5 MTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 0 A3 p6 ~/ i- j0 b* {* Z' v+ H

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

( h; X% X, i4 l t3 t, M• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
- ]) M8 d V5 t• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;8 K2 F- D3 Y9 R; a3 L
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;

• Risk Management and succession planning;

• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
S* c+ ^, b# _3 `, p e1 w• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;+ P: f' k% ]" N9 o
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;6 q3 U8 {& c. d* n' p8 `4 w" D
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
- Q9 K6 j% M8 w' w• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
2 I. x# G- d8 H1 b5 b• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;

• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;7 ~; k+ R4 [. a$ Y

Qualifications:/ O' l; X4 j J' f2 M
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
% \- L. d# B+ N! P3 H9 @• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;9 K8 K7 z% R. B/ l. ?
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
* b, y) @" z7 Z' Z' l• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
; N1 |5 s2 r9 O& n- G N6 o• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical. o+ `# K( l6 u' P
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
( @0 ]! r2 d* E' g' ?• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;: L/ O2 i, Y9 T1 k8 _3 u7 R4 i! P
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;+ `" M% M7 y$ ?9 Y2 N. w
• Current valid drivers license; K# {$ _( d* _& o+ ]( d
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
& t, c0 n8 x- Z4 c* d* s• Conflict resolution skills;1 U- y! S% X8 w2 i0 o; a9 ~; {
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
