Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:5 B3 m  I  D: c/ D
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 3 W% L5 T$ A' l; D% \1 |This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)3 p9 }$ d! O5 D* X

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
/ |( X* u" F. \9 ]•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
& I" R+ ?. N4 f+ {5 j( T•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;6 V+ D4 [! R6 [$ S
•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
* E. H9 @2 b: \9 T& [+ u  \•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
' }/ [" O  T9 z•        Risk Management and succession planning;* |0 k, n3 Z; D3 j( @# O

8 M; d  g' D  O, tProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:  2 E& P4 U& {: `; y3 D, J$ X7 t) h
•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
6 e3 R; q. d+ E$ w* A/ A9 \•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
1 C' B1 }7 f  V' P" D•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
. w; y6 Q# c6 w( d, d•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
% {* L- h+ y' B/ `! a1 E•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;6 F6 e5 x" |* Q7 |  p; j8 V1 g
•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
+ j5 h( w+ }( r# X•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
5 S. L* R; }- T•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;! Y* d2 `7 l; G; U3 j
& K# i* ]3 Z" j+ O( ]) Z: w5 ^
Qualifications:
& o- U! |1 B$ O5 l1 A$ B0 t•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;& H# u( L) A' Y2 E5 q# z
•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
5 r8 j( ]! I: V$ b•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  ; w* h7 T/ T! b4 t4 }
•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
& x; P' a) k5 Y- N* M. m" O•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical./ x6 Q; W9 B' F
•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
  m# V( j3 N. M6 U$ G  n: J•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
% P) @; k) p2 Q' V7 [6 T0 p•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;( B/ l3 x6 n' t" N  H( b. X
•        Current valid drivers license;
& N3 K) H7 D; H0 Z4 S) p# E) T•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;! |6 X+ p; m- y: p1 N
•        Conflict resolution skills;
1 |3 ~5 U+ I7 @* u1 n3 r" }; @8 g•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;& I2 P* n) m2 {% R! P
•        Committed and passionate about children;

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
