Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project6 ^& }. L+ y6 R( f% H

Job Purpose:8 A( C: k# Y9 M* Q% g
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 8 E1 o$ R% l; V

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
; n, _% \! j8 I, v•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;/ d! ]+ d7 T! m  E/ }; V' ~# E* Z
•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
; c4 [7 |- F, s+ `  \5 Q) ~) F•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
4 q, }- \- @. g; l6 Z7 a•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
! ?+ U+ P2 x" C  k* `  `4 J7 P•        Risk Management and succession planning;0 X4 K8 y3 \! J5 ]6 v* {9 R6 {6 D  d
0 A4 C0 k' n3 \! }% B4 _* K+ M6 B
Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  
5 q! X3 t; b% g/ o% L•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;  M- i2 ~$ ?4 f5 H- D
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;" \' S/ q5 U  _8 a* D6 e& G3 _3 v
•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;, q5 ]; Q; E1 M4 j1 j5 n
•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
. m$ c4 `$ Y" H( M•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;/ b! f8 {' S5 [, I, F
•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
8 d1 T8 S6 f% r+ m4 {( I8 J( p•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;9 {0 x5 W9 P! F  O- S. R' ]+ W! h, o
•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;$ x6 ~# P0 _- H( c* f+ N

- Y" F2 P1 Z) C% u5 k' c, bQualifications:: h* g- J' n/ x/ j* o0 W
•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
6 V; p! d: J9 p' n5 R•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;, W$ W% N+ b- |* l! V; H4 e- i% U; a
•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
1 B; ~% J. K, m0 }•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;; ~" G% _& u- y+ M
•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.' d; X$ Z" L6 W$ E, Y3 L2 t2 n
•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
- j* j8 b" x0 f' D+ R8 z•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;8 _, O/ _( i" F0 t* Q
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;0 p& K5 H) Q8 G& ]3 `5 }
•        Current valid drivers license;
6 y1 f  l( W0 Y  U3 u2 D( O) V•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;+ N6 Z7 a- r. v; Z( p' f
•        Conflict resolution skills;  _0 d' D% a0 n3 K
•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
! i0 c9 |7 P7 e' d& j6 a•        Committed and passionate about children;
; q/ ^6 a: y! P7 ]) d, p8 e
