Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:
$ E7 N0 ?- {6 j9 ?. vTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)& b1 x6 e* O+ b1 ?8 b' ], \

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:+ d! Z6 @# i+ x& _; }. j& [8 K* T
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
# C0 N7 `0 N% u9 A' I9 `4 D• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
- [' j" p! Z7 P) }, l; f7 k- L" z• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;1 M5 I. s0 n& H" a& @ Y
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;

* c* Y1 ^) @" u4 r' uProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:
# W( h- A5 V- m+ S• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
3 g" }8 X `# u1 f5 l I5 j ~• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
N" ]! t1 G/ \- O4 v& p3 x• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
% H. z- U% y: }2 O; @- s0 E6 L• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
$ v# d7 v( X( Q+ m$ S• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;4 U+ H. k) ^2 p2 Q
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;/ ^; U& j' a! t& @6 O; _9 y
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;

Qualifications:( G/ D, D9 s, z' m. h
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
& Z- I" q4 J4 u Q. d• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector; [; ?/ x/ n7 i U# u, |' b
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
# h8 G* F2 n2 D+ \+ k• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;9 b1 S7 E- [8 {
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.7 _3 O/ A$ y% U: B. Z6 n! ^% ?
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
5 K! x b) _" V' C3 `: ?, `1 ?2 n: z• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;( v- Q; e3 z" d6 |# T2 F
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
% O# M6 Z, R0 [7 B0 ^1 f3 J* Z% e8 U• Current valid drivers license;
m' D( @ v+ i• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
x5 n. H5 `3 T) z! q3 D2 T• Conflict resolution skills;( U5 a8 j4 \8 I+ N' }" X+ b
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;9 C K+ S$ t h) h, d! |2 F
