To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. + V2 G8 \2 g8 C
7 t4 M& T" h2 X0 JThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:- F! v& q: j7 |3 t4 M7 M7 ^
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;9 b8 e/ L: M9 r; v$ K5 U3 D
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
, y2 q: d8 E0 v$ g" T• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
: _1 `- D Z7 |6 R' ~: Y- D- \• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;

3 K8 q* N6 n" W, OProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:
' w- N2 t; T( c$ ^8 U, b8 g- T• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;) {, s! z- {9 ~& V+ R: K
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;1 Q" f2 S3 i; r$ O. n
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;; I' U/ B/ \& ~( p: |% j5 @
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
2 U& N/ j# ~# L5 }# q- c6 g3 s• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
2 M7 T0 o8 G0 C, { s2 [• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;

• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;% [4 m- B. P' d$ e1 @( Y

4 _, k2 \9 `; r- n& i• Degree in communications, human services or related field;. ^9 k3 t& h/ O/ ^1 u; N
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;. N* A3 V0 G) c5 Y/ v
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; / X/ h: {+ l1 p6 \% @
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
2 T( v, B) a* W [ W- x1 T• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
+ s* Q5 x* v/ O+ z) e• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children; m. _9 M- r; i0 ?5 i% l
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
1 D' i0 d9 J" B$ k; v; ^• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;& |8 x/ F: w* G3 ?: m* z$ a: a
• Current valid drivers license;
" x+ ~+ j9 ^, H* h• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;2 H' W% b$ C. Y3 f# J5 [- P! x
• Conflict resolution skills;# z5 K" n6 i; L$ |% M! e7 z& a
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;1 o* E" y8 k! u5 H, R
• Committed and passionate about children;1 T, ^3 }5 U% ~' m K7 H

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
