Job Purpose:
' F# h) g1 t0 o" ?7 u& x' }To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

/ u3 b! Y4 Y' a5 Z5 s3 `( E# yThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

- I' p: E( v1 w! k6 @! H2 I' ~$ AAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
, c, F: J& \0 b. _•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
7 p; }/ `# W, H( N" u( o•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
•        Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  
" G$ B) M* r) u$ ?9 c2 x% H- j- B# I•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
" a! m  N8 `9 u$ q: p6 q$ p; F•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
% S& M6 x' f% \5 `2 h•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
. u1 k$ R8 u! }9 b) R+ {5 ?" [•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
2 x2 D/ j! o+ F+ O/ r3 h•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
1 f9 [3 I$ K' B6 ]4 p) y4 h# z•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
3 k7 c. g% T( j1 E•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:
( m+ E5 E$ K: R2 k% H& p7 I•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
$ q4 @( N0 T/ G0 u; z& Y•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
+ {- q2 U& ~- z2 C•        Current valid drivers license;
•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
# W  `) [9 S8 D$ [1 z8 q•        Conflict resolution skills;

# h2 Q/ R. T# t0 g$ a# ~* ?) X; F% n•        Committed and passionate about children;

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
