Hours of Work: 17.5 hours per week

& t+ ]: o$ j& B. ^2 Y$ `$ R- provide volunteers to update membership database
: h& o/ q' J" m0 D* b+ b; Z- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers% k4 ?4 ^6 v8 C' ^3 \6 D) n
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
7 O4 j( S! f/ A! k' }8 v: i- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
: M0 `$ J( V5 T# P% V7 {7 s- provide volunteers for various programs & D& e0 o M; N; J n7 ~( a$ J( a, O
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
. R# H0 D1 b `" F! U- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
6 [4 ?4 n; e; L# Q- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities& V4 X- V* g$ A9 x9 }* ?6 _
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services5 n% U* K6 T& ]( n; s0 L
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports8 e0 k$ _" D% F/ t# T+ x0 Z8 p) r
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
; p) {& ^$ V/ K5 ]' K' U- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed

- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
. T# O1 h( r+ @4 L+ {' j a- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 9 I% v. |& B5 J R8 R1 \
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
% y* j. x y. w& X+ l. F: j- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
% O3 w6 A' G2 ~* U- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis " a5 v- e3 R7 w3 G3 P
- evaluations 0 T4 o7 A. B5 V' v5 T1 T
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre; j p# X% I* N% C) l X
8 y* p/ X, i- e0 `, _2 i2 gQualifications2 s. P, R) }+ W) c! f$ ]6 z% K
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education1 L; R# [& a; \: c5 {: \
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills: [. j+ j, w" F% y2 o
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services; \" \( G2 U( t$ r' S
- leadership skills
