Key Responsibilities

- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
4 G ~9 I9 Q( Q9 _, i7 }- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties/ y D" e2 D" |
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties5 K" G! l6 q" K# @9 c/ W2 V
- provide volunteers for various programs 7 T Q3 t- l4 R J: s
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual% I3 W3 T. R0 l4 `% j& g2 j; n8 u
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation( m& X2 ]$ v; \1 w+ ^/ k- s- W& j
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
1 k2 y) L9 r. _. W/ h/ y7 u- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services ^% J4 o4 B, L7 g: ]
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed4 t8 @3 q+ ]( H# q
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
% Z( |% ~, }. A1 J% C/ o- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
$ b9 q" F5 r; b0 L. i* V- development and distribution of a volunteer manual ( j- A C H5 ~5 G6 o& V$ V
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers 8 w5 E. W/ L# E8 Y: d/ s* j
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 5 `. g9 Q8 }, o
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
9 [0 X1 A' S9 S5 n( v- evaluations

Qualifications
& W4 ]& {" e% W5 I: e4 J) y# _- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
$ J- J6 t0 P% H2 ?( v9 Y2 z- good oral and written Chinese and English skills7 Z' Y3 m% W4 V
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services+ F( W6 y% ~: A# G$ z
- leadership skills
