Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news

- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers0 A5 f2 V3 v( W6 V1 a3 b$ b( u
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties K: T% i5 Q' x4 {3 ?& d
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties* L, s* K0 a8 s. X" W) Z9 {
- provide volunteers for various programs 0 Q* F1 v, Z- S. \( h
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual# J) d. X- A: D+ J: [% _
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
' p6 H! {9 l- ?+ `7 V" x- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities: e" ]0 J$ ?+ z
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
3 _5 d9 A% M7 J2 k O- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
& a/ ?3 z8 t( y5 E% J! j- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed. w4 C! T) z" N$ v
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed, ?8 s. D5 V/ o4 \6 o/ M
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
+ }" X3 E4 X9 y, t" a" I7 M1 \, s- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
' k0 O- A/ Y6 m- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 9 V- d! _. l7 `1 i& `3 U
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
' ]- ^* W3 _% M9 r- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
' X" }, M- ~9 c- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
' a P6 d$ C* w! v2 U+ M- evaluations
% N; V* R4 [# T$ V- l7 ?- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre& i' O& R" f) g& D8 U* t
1 C$ j d" m' k' a+ A) U% iQualifications
/ E) V$ A! o3 F! Q& {# ?- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
2 F9 D( o$ I! I0 f5 v; \- good oral and written Chinese and English skills0 m$ u* y% r/ b& w/ w4 P( ]
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services" b5 o8 j7 Y8 s
- leadership skills/ q; k8 _" H' I1 R6 N' q" I
- management and supervision skills
9 A; h8 I0 C& v; U' N- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
