Key Responsibilities
: j% f, H! X$ ~& F! j+ O: I7 P- submit information for community news + ~4 ?& t8 M( Y1 Z# H K
- provide volunteers to update membership database2 E( S: ^# W9 s
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers1 F$ B7 ^# L3 S5 ]
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties" h1 Q3 d% `* Q. ]1 u
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties( R( ~# f! ]5 i
- provide volunteers for various programs
7 M% ~; S! N2 J7 p- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual+ s! C7 A% F% ^
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation, x. w+ i$ v3 X* z8 P
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities {2 H* h$ ~2 l! R; X5 e
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services& m3 S* _. H9 H: ?& S; w
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports2 t2 }$ o/ _0 v( B6 A
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
. c( a/ K. _/ S4 |- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed

- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
g3 I+ ?& x7 g- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
g) P, W9 ^) ~: k) R0 u$ G l- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers 2 C( n+ q' B, _9 ]# [
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
! Y* r2 O! F7 \* o- good oral and written Chinese and English skills7 D: D5 z, S. u6 Y! S: V6 X- j0 |
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services

- management and supervision skills
