Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news # S- _- c) G$ c' U; k: H1 ~' @
- provide volunteers to update membership database8 Z9 t/ F& ?1 D3 o _+ V% W/ i
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
- F d/ U/ U/ i/ E: B0 ~- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
! w, Z# c% _' Q9 }% d( b5 _- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
5 X! {1 m% K- Y- provide volunteers for various programs : R- }$ A q* C5 w
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual# F. v) s5 S/ q. @ q1 K8 V
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation3 z" D$ y$ l9 M
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities- D- W, L3 y0 s2 W$ k8 Q
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services# a; w0 Z1 q c" Y. v
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports6 f. K: R9 N$ n/ u- G
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)$ k$ m, `- e) q; @! i1 _4 L! c. w
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events ' E* t$ ?9 j' j
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual + q# z9 p- M5 y8 Z5 N
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers 7 I2 o `9 j3 @5 o! W3 W$ X; }7 J
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
7 |; ^/ K3 O3 e8 y; F- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre9 X3 P% }4 ~9 a8 f- B# [

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education% ^) E% q9 G8 } ?9 N* ~
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
# \* F7 Z+ }3 s `9 |2 C1 R3 D, Y' w* L/ |- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services

- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
