Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

- provide volunteers to update membership database; ?# C. V" n7 q3 p) _
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers: g" O! t* ~ K
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties3 L# ^/ q8 s6 }6 [. K
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
9 Z* \2 |/ y) h4 P3 N- provide volunteers for various programs
& X) r7 \; Z# c. j1 C- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual2 Y* r+ H; @# q4 K
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation: ]" j% k; }2 \1 b7 L. z/ M$ p
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
( t# V2 h9 r) f/ R7 e& A# i3 j- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services$ D: G( Q1 @( M+ a7 x
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
7 i5 p5 E! H) B% g' r# @- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed4 M1 W- j. V, `: R
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed" X4 j# ?7 E. k
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
! w6 U) P. `) R* b9 k- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events * v+ M- `/ W' [3 g3 c
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 6 N% D% n: T+ [& o! J
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers ; q$ M1 \. E% l% b2 L7 [7 P6 x* u
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
9 K0 v2 x$ H0 e' \4 Z7 }- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis . ^4 M6 b) Z N" s* N' t% }4 B- s
- evaluations % ]+ ?. j" A v1 M
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education3 i: t; }% x0 F6 S3 y; z
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
1 Y e3 ^: r/ m6 V9 k: W& @1 H- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services' Y5 ?- P% o+ J: `* `

- management and supervision skills
