有关报税的疑惑

帮朋友发帖。人在国内，老婆、孩子在加拿大。朋友的枫叶卡过期，又没能注满2年。1.是否就不用报税了？2. 要和税局打招呼吗？3. 如果不报税，对今后的夫妻团聚移民有没有负面影响？请专业人士或有过类似经历的人士指点。

谢谢回复。但是我怎么觉得应该是deemed non-resident，不用报税呀。还是不明白。

朋友的老婆、孩子都在加拿大，并没有解除residential ties with Canada. 所以不能认为是deemed resident.
