What is the criteria for reporting a traffic accident? Can I phone it in?* q) I$ Q1 s, \3 c Q( n
Effective August 1, 2002, Saskatchewan motorists will only have to report motor vehicle collisions to police if the collision involves:
* \% L: L2 O' i8 }# w! o1 F1) Any bodily injury or death;5 J2 p8 V8 [$ I
2) A Hit-and-Run;
% G) Q& O; z% T3) A driver impaired by alcohol or drugs;+ d. i" Y, B( ?8 k" ^6 P0 s7 A3 }
4) A motor vehicle towed from the scene;1 K9 I' b! h) m1 B6 I; j6 u
5) An out-of-province vehicle.% y+ d/ M/ R; i7 o6 e: o, p

Normally, police would be dispatched to the collisions described above. One exception may be an owner's discovery that his/her vehicle has been damaged in a hit-and-run, but the vehicle can still be safely driven to Police Headquarters. In such a case, the owner could make a report in person at Police Headquarters.
