Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. 8 |* h% O2 N7 ]6 @- b' y

• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person3 |5 w+ d" R7 e7 Z; q
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
; _4 n. h; h3 B- c; a- k/ P! I• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
* K* n; n% k" x7 K) G5 W9 p& M• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter/ A/ Y: z! ~. O
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents1 ]* K1 H" j; D* | R
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
) @0 }7 ^- l* b. o• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events* K0 W6 E( K( B e* [
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events% G# T$ j# {; ]" ?2 ]4 r, q3 ~
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
9 S( X2 q1 e3 o; M• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

• Report to ISP Program Manager

• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person0 k& Y K! Q9 w" W
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset9 D0 h! I# l& @3 M+ m
• Good English writing and oral communication skills

• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds8 i: ?- L) r4 n+ Z% _7 Q
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment9 N% V+ S6 ~, D' N# u
• Knowledge of immigrant services

Qualifications:
/ q( [) W& s# C0 r2 Q' \ E% W- M• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience $ D& y( R1 z) l# `
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment: Y$ A: J0 i5 }2 m- l2 q
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism3 U; ?/ L, o) }5 L3 F
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
& [0 p! C1 m) g9 f1 h& B3 i* p& T0 L+ e5 l* \
