Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
0 P5 Z" j) m. V( v• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
( f( \" K% ~ D$ B: c, {• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
$ l. g5 R+ Z, n7 `9 y+ `+ ]• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
5 c! F8 ?" ?0 s# q0 _• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
\9 I( g/ f: _9 [# k! a9 S• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
0 I8 R: ~5 p* @$ g• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events# K) R0 e% Y* {' ^' i
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
5 p9 e0 p: P6 J1 d• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters0 W! z. Z2 M/ W+ d3 l; R1 N: i( ^2 M5 i
• Maintain front counter service files1 ?( g T* S% o$ T7 S3 t
• Perform general office duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
2 T5 y2 H o/ r! | k1 [) Z& v• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
$ L5 L, r$ f9 S8 o# D• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
' J- j& R6 g. l5 R. @• Good English writing and oral communication skills* P' m& ?& l" L& M' }- o% W, o
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
+ O- v/ k$ I2 {; y( @- X• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook( e" J1 m1 u8 h4 N0 o) t$ K2 ~
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
/ h" z/ W. m9 V5 N& D$ P( I1 [• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds
! R+ H) v- p! ]! M/ O% z; h; c• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

Qualifications:
# R+ v0 D0 M* O: t• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience O( g P N. Q/ O9 E6 P8 q4 A
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
: Z& j* [$ a$ s' l• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism; c$ }4 `$ w5 b% g/ m
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision* s# w- p9 x+ l7 o4 [: }0 P+ A: X
