Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. z6 z3 V4 F/ \# y9 m& A

• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person9 I1 X! o# y& z# F/ n7 q
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
8 K7 m* o3 ]* |! q' u• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately; v8 p. r' {/ _0 o- d0 v
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
# I. R0 u2 a7 _0 H• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
( g" s2 D) P/ f- h( h- n. e. e! ^• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker! P3 v; ?( G5 R2 {# M9 g/ V
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events+ |7 Z1 F5 d, X) |; w4 e
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events) H7 l* s3 l7 r7 o6 L5 @* y- ?* \
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean0 N9 |( q% c4 E. H
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters3 E8 _5 f& K z0 w& O' f' \
• Maintain front counter service files

• Report to ISP Program Manager3 i' M) j9 P, u% }7 V& i& f7 s' f

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
% |8 R7 H2 P/ C: r" j9 J6 E! R• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
" a) C7 W& H. y i% c• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
' a: x& L, a1 s! _$ A9 c# z• Good English writing and oral communication skills
7 _" E4 ?( g2 w# N; D, Z( A/ y( ^; A• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients1 M" w, Z" X) ?* Y5 W1 z
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook

• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds% I7 W1 w4 @' M
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
. C* s5 q: M) i! i' n+ t5 P• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
) J% T L8 g- q• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism3 P5 `/ F% h o2 U( \% X' Q6 G: N# r5 ]% X
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision) L; X4 S0 \2 ]- ?9 V! ~; b/ W
