Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. ) \( C' D5 M0 e8 Z8 q

Key Responsibilities:3 ^1 P9 O7 L5 f9 ~) [
• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
D" x# z; @, b. T: L• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST- [$ L; ^* ~$ D; l, l8 l
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately$ D6 L7 ^. F% p6 V! z3 ?! Y5 l: |
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter5 t* { ]4 n+ G! @/ |9 I B% m
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents0 L* ?9 |, O# j4 U" A) n5 R
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
% ~* I6 l, U1 a" U$ C3 }6 @* J' H5 h; U• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
& g- z# O7 P1 U: @• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events7 w. [% @6 ?' ?( T$ `5 n
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
/ Z3 o4 ?% Z' u- f0 D" ]! n' x• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters$ x( F" F k, O: m7 ^3 s# k
• Maintain front counter service files

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
! p* i1 b5 X$ M# C( Y [" K) B• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
! b' u9 e* g6 D& {9 s• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset% y& n$ G( A1 u; t+ E& c
• Good English writing and oral communication skills
- O8 u5 \# y) m H3 s• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
. r4 F9 V E) Y5 i• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
" U7 a: V0 u, H% j' n$ K• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
" P5 {/ x/ K. x. f; {3 k, X• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds( W1 \4 F6 F8 N, t
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment1 N3 t9 r5 G3 N3 P" [ K
• Knowledge of immigrant services

Qualifications:# C* ~3 c- Q3 ]0 _; u
• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience - Q* T! f J2 I, [8 n3 }! |
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment; p: e. g. J& Q% S4 S& }
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism5 p9 c/ @' Z. R
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
