Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

7 ?+ p# |3 |. |- o4 o# q" TWithin the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. 2 m0 ^. i+ g/ f% p: [+ `! Key Responsibilities:
9 p4 `( n# ]2 ~8 X n• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
$ X% j$ A/ G8 _1 V9 g% Y9 A; [& i• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST8 e; A+ F& d) D+ _. X r. d
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately! V: t+ C4 A4 v' Y
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter$ g" F q6 I7 N! X4 h9 e; ?9 Z
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
+ J9 M/ G5 n/ }$ v% h% B• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker% C, d- s S+ R2 @, `7 F' D/ J4 ]
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events2 k( _3 \. k# P' r
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events" }% C( o0 E6 u! T K3 ^
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean! d8 p- }; ], K; B S0 l9 y
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters- G0 Q9 M! c' {3 o
• Maintain front counter service files

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
7 P' F( t7 P, Y• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
/ Y X3 G( G3 `0 T8 n! B• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
$ m$ @$ v" B j• Good English writing and oral communication skills
* I r' W( }' R3 @• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients$ [* P9 ?& C2 v- W+ c
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
' G0 R) C* W2 d# U" ^+ W9 ?; g• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately % U8 z! M$ X# J3 e
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds0 a) ~% Y" I2 \- ^
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment
$ F' f2 Q8 o( l' R: q• Knowledge of immigrant services6 R' I7 D% Z! X2 P" x

• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
, B; H( I" ], \, \( P& b• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
3 P' K; `/ {/ `# C6 i Y( `• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism2 U+ `+ l: ?; A: z" K: X# \1 d
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
