Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. / q) b; x! Key Responsibilities:- k& F9 \: H* {% X
• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person" a- n7 |) X$ w1 `+ L7 p' W
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST! U% v0 w5 P+ T. Z
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
' G' a8 y! ]% M& X+ h4 {• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter" c$ c0 m" Y' N) h& y% V$ ?
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents3 X$ G( N4 V9 G! f, _+ O
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker; j) [7 `4 e8 s/ ~! h( _
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events! Z5 K* q/ D2 w }7 Y; S+ X/ f
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events; j& d' I; q6 Q
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
6 F- {$ U" k# g7 q( y7 V' q/ z• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters( L0 q* T6 c. n9 K
• Maintain front counter service files

' b5 [8 f! m- l( {• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
- n6 N* a4 S# a. s• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
& q( u8 t5 s. p4 ^3 q7 i• Good English writing and oral communication skills. W4 O; W, V2 a8 k1 l d$ K
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
6 d: `0 D7 A( a5 M5 `• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook

• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

Qualifications:
3 j& ~" C n8 g. t) x• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience 4 J- k$ g2 K) s6 h
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment6 b9 x2 k8 Y6 \$ H
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism2 y, k% ?2 D+ T
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision9 d# t% l. x; X1 |& _ L& X
