Hours of Work: Part-time (21 hours per week)

Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. 7 M* I# I1 H4 h3 a1 A- Z

) G" P' v( P+ L: Y' R• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
u7 ^- A8 l# Y6 I+ b, ~5 Z• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST* t# d$ O* j" F5 ]. |1 I; U
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately5 ^. H( O2 A3 k% I8 x4 L
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
5 u/ W6 Q# e# f& I2 H" Q- ]• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents* ?" O) t* L; X8 e" d
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker0 T7 F" z. X: o
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events$ f6 v @4 J$ W u
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
# z( N- f5 C ?& t7 M3 q• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
4 D8 b& s, j, w" }• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
, s p$ h* X6 k9 }9 n• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person! N* y: s2 c& _: F. a+ q# `; g
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
: ?$ }& P4 ]' B& V• Good English writing and oral communication skills, d( W5 z' P% @( z6 q% Z$ G' D8 T
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients0 _ b: P0 e$ A3 v* @# ?3 @
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook6 E! [6 @: |4 ?% G% L4 _! d
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately 6 ? M# E: w/ A, F2 v7 q
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds
+ l/ q A5 {0 v' O1 q• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

* f, W( x. J5 a3 ^2 t# GQualifications:
' {" i! i1 L. \8 E U• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience . l2 ~8 U) p; X- b ?5 p
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment* b$ t2 U- V+ W0 x. Y0 u5 D
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism* D" N n8 t d% }6 `+ L: i1 R
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision; {- T0 Z! W5 _
