Job Description:
% K9 _3 r! v; V) F• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
- ?; u+ z. f9 |• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components& A& j- L0 n+ E& J
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
5 B6 v. m# g4 ~) ~) p• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams7 f" i- q; X' ^$ e' \
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
- O1 i; h Q5 E* P4 `3 X& L• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment/ C9 @# t* _+ x& X4 g, b3 s
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
" x$ R# k. I4 }' _, d8 h• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
- I0 Q8 j% Q$ G$ \• Mix paint, blend and match colors+ I% G! z1 T& D* Z3 o! q4 A
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
7 y5 z. `, J) y6 h0 }$ S! k. o0 F• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
8 l1 X8 _5 J: Y6 b/ ]/ k• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation4 |# S5 D+ d) J4 ?* Q
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

• Completion of secondary school is required
* L& M1 i' ?& A2 h• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program

- M7 Z; E/ B. ?* e& A* bA combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
+ X4 W" R- X/ p• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory N& l2 F+ Z# f& N
