Job Description:
' P7 h9 d1 e9 ^# d* D• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed( A( V# P% b3 Y: Y7 z
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
. v+ B& E0 B9 p% K: l2 |1 \• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
: Q* H' n- j, f6 b& V; o. c• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams6 k, b, K* `! E+ d
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
3 {. p# i" U6 |' Y• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
& @ j. c6 ]' S8 x# ]• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
1 ^9 A) t0 E: }7 |' e5 b' y• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
* v2 s- m9 ?7 M; a• Mix paint, blend and match colors
2 o4 @1 M* l0 N- T$ T6 `• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
: E; e B/ t# F% Z• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
E8 ]0 ~9 y W( m! h" }" l• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation" {1 P4 U7 d8 G
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

• Completion of secondary school is required0 j* O }7 z+ u
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program

1 w$ g) R7 c u2 w5 V- A• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
