Position: Motor Vehicle Body Repairers (Automotive Collision Repair Technician NOC 7322)

Wage: $24.02/hour, 40 hours per week
Shifts: 8am -5pm, with a one hour lunch break

•        Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
2 z' g' `" P! M) j•        Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
•        Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
•        Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
•        Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
$ B9 Q3 b; b$ N7 x# @2 }•        Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
( u! ~/ G; z9 E& |5 v•        File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
•        Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
  ^. V5 B# c% R/ v. Y' a* ~% v•        Mix paint, blend and match colors
•        Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
: H* Q" M6 X" W6 _$ ?" Y0 Z•        Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
•        Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation
; z& ~+ W4 Y- i8 Z. F2 X•        Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling
- s# f, J+ T4 `Education and Experience Requirements:
•        Completion of secondary school is required
•        Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program

A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
! j4 u0 x/ J2 N. c! }•        Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
