Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. / _' Z( T: C7 w& [

• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person" O0 X4 o. Z7 T4 {8 N
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
$ l. Q: J0 u/ H9 S3 ~• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately# f3 h# c" E( ]* t* {6 \& u" W
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter# h" U& r* G. Y$ K# N. O( m5 Z
• Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings
) L/ G$ C8 O9 R8 I( F8 Y! ~( U! N3 U1 N• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents# f% ?0 {$ _1 w) q1 C5 I% H
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
, b& B4 Q* w0 @4 ~+ }• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events

• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
( O8 i, \! ?* t. c• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:3 D$ i+ ]/ j- ]( O3 a
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person: H0 O0 P7 h9 ^5 {+ W3 c
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
( k }8 @, e% D# V$ n) X: o( A& ]• Good English writing and oral communication skills0 i% t$ q4 n" Y2 X, f4 x
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients& J9 h6 J0 [( W8 V
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook! o" P4 y0 w4 n. m# X
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
0 _1 y7 P8 ]7 _2 Z* R6 a9 G! |1 E• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

Qualifications:
; M: ^4 g: q* L4 g+ X3 l6 V• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience ) n7 v5 ]# I2 m8 n5 k+ g
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
7 C& V/ I7 S# ^( q! n4 L) O+ K• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism- O7 B5 u D" B+ u
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision" v5 }6 H4 I8 n0 J
