YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.

Payroll:
; h" c0 v( M0 J2 r0 w• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired- o; a4 Q" x6 ^
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
# o- s/ U2 x0 u# Y: W2 A• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records , L; g% k1 K0 ~- H- b ?
• Input benefit deductions into payroll
& v W y2 ], D7 ]" E2 Z( o. M# s
; o; y: ~" p! T, q- ^6 u8 k6 kReporting duties:
8 F- X4 T2 o- ]8 j/ P7 x/ E4 a. S• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider8 \ H4 N0 ^( M4 r6 e' n! V
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website {. a' O( V1 P$ H6 w1 K9 W2 `
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s+ H! P* ]3 Z# g" n5 T& _
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority
; W2 }* e) S" M! n0 n• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations0 L+ [* [1 [- `( ? t# h

Compliance:
6 o* g% ~, Q2 _: B$ t/ v• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
- K+ M# @" T, ]3 ?• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
# ?8 M1 a' H% B) Z' s5 h; E! e0 q• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies. c$ Y( E3 S7 N P5 I
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting. A) X" ?3 c7 f3 k
8 o2 l4 K) S" N1 A: jAccounts Receivable:
! y q: Z* K; f9 D a$ U# @• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
- q9 |5 j. q$ F+ ~, f4 O• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department) H }( h/ V7 Y
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments* s; {6 r8 k9 p) M2 m* ]1 B
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing! l1 p1 J+ j5 X7 y5 o! A4 j, n
t, q V- V1 d: hQualifications:
- S6 Q3 g# }* v2 `. \7 g, h) X6 H: I, B3 t" T7 j `( [
• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
' ?* i( ^/ g7 _- z0 D• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
4 @' ^0 B7 k* u6 J% ]1 O• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position8 z7 L; [5 ~- y5 N$ E0 I
• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
* Z: R4 G+ e5 w$ f/ d" X2 f6 f• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work
[3 z7 l; j' M4 i( r• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
