Volunteer Job Description

Position:        Youth Leader
Duration of Commitment:Summer T.A.N.G. Youth Program
/ u) v% F7 v( ]4 q8 RCamp 1 – July 04 – July 14
Camp 2 – July 31 – August 11 (must attend an overnight camp on August 10 to 11)
Time:0915 to 1600(Regular Program Time)
*might work in other time in some specific days
Place: ASSIST Community Services Centre

Duties:
To assist the T.A.N.G. Youth Program Coordinator by providing clerical and/or activities support in the followings:

 Distribution of promotion flyers to schools, churches, communities and relevant social agencies and professionals
 Take attendance if available
6 U6 I( k. N* a$ D. T Provide positive modelling to youth
 Facilitate or assist in ice-breaking games and/or other activities
7 b% v# f6 J( _2 t2 C0 Z; r Facilitate or assist in small group discussions
! c7 b3 d' x' w Research activities related to the session’s topic upon advice of the Program Coordinator
 Watch out on the safety of youth either in centre or fieldtrips
6 t8 B; X5 r3 |! M8 l, h4 D3 | Report to the Program Coordinator for any doubts or concerns and/or any troubleshoot behaviour
 Act according to the guidance or direction of the Program Coordinator
. d. d0 M" L1 B# a Must follow guidelines or procedures stipulated in the manual/training
7 y9 w2 w3 S9 [5 e7 n7 Z2 W Attend debriefing sessions/ongoing training
 Assist in program planning/design
 Any other program related tasks as assigned by the Program Coordinator

* |" f; b; t7 d* a3 _3 y Mature, sensible, patient, organized, willing to take and follow instruction
6 H* j; b1 a2 m% U Be open and willing to initiate and maintain a positive relationship with youths in the program, or youth who is matched on an one-on-one basis
# A8 O( R5 `' } A team player, can get along well with other staff & volunteers
! U9 j$ T% }  B2 p Concentrate efforts in the group session or activities over other distractions
 Able to work independently with minimum supervision
 Value building on strengths in children, youth and families
/ C4 t1 s* f7 G4 \* S Able to get along with youth and/or youth who might at risk
7 `/ F+ q% i) }  c$ Z1 P5 G Certain proficiency in English and Chinese
