1. It's cool.
9 ?) c0 R$ g! A  Z9 H- t& e+ W( P# @2 y5 ]
(可指人或事物)也就是 something good or acceptable;situation is under control;being calm, gentle, courteous or good-looking;meet teen's standard.
% Z  E7 {7 U  z( ~# T    That's cool;he is cool;this is cool. # F% m% T2 G3 R, T5 b" V. }
    Skydiving (或surfing) is cool.(跳伞或冲浪运动很不错)- B. k6 L0 ^1 B  b8 d5 h) U

" \6 X) f8 ^6 Y. O8 i* R主词可用任何人称的单复数 (I, we, they 等),动词可用 verb to be 的任何时态 (is, was, were, will be, have been等)。
    She (He) was cool in the past.
5 x) l, b# f/ K! }" o    That's a cool T-shirt.(好看的运动衫)
2 m% K- G! c. ^1 x" e& \    He (she) is a cool person.(文雅礼貌的人) 2 o$ W& z  W  _# @

, r3 b! F" `. y但是如果说:Are you cool?
* x+ L: R4 A& }- V    She looks as cool as a cucumber. 又是恭维语,是说她很 calm and charming; not 8 W* W) _  j# A( m9 y3 C2 t
    emotional. 但为何用黄瓜 (cucumber) 代表,则不得而知。
1 X5 s: l0 O; X. f! G7 Q. w    (注:许多华人把 cool 译成「很酷」) " }4 A  d& R  P; E

$ S/ U+ j. F8 a* `4 @2. Are you trippin'?
& r" B' P7 i3 u* r6 |
' ]. A0 A& i% G% qtrippin' 这个字,是由动词 trip 演变而来。 这个字是现在分词当形容词用,是指行为异乎寻常,也许受到吸毒或喝酒的影响,而显得神魂颠倒、奇形怪状(to get high on drug such as LSD),也就是说:要不是受到药、酒的影响,你为什 显得这样古怪呢?(Are you under any influence of drug or alcoholic? Why are you so crazy and bizarre?) I3 W( r" P, o! R/ }; N; r
    They are trippin'. (= tripping) ( N. S3 z6 P, _5 U+ v
    She (he) is trippin'.
% b4 t! U9 O7 F3 J5 ]! B* Z3 H- cMr. A must be trippin'.
9 l4 N* y2 t5 n" y!
- n6 b8 V4 a/ P: P) f( l 4 f7 W$ h: M" g* ^, z
3. He is a nerd
  ]8 h: O& i) m8 u  }
9 i. (A person always buries his nose in books, but not good at social situations.) G
    He used to be a nerd in high school
( z: H- F2 M  {0 p% Q6 ]' d) x+ K7 U( T. V
4. Yo baby
: J# d0 j/ p' {: t) j' I) E) e9 z' B. J& t
(He thinks she is pretty and attractive, so he wants to speak to her.),也就是找话题,想要「打开话匣」。(to use as a form of opening line or pick-up line or to begin a greeting; try to know her or date her) 如果说:
( O9 s- w0 F: T" y3 j4 _: `+ g. I3 w    Yo baby, are you trippin'?
: P8 f8 b; Y) P) sMay I help you with something? I think I have met you somewhere before. 3 |5 u4 Q  C( o" `) f
诸如: 1 o+ g  ~* X- ~/ c* Y% z6 e
    Hey, hey, hey, what's going on?“what is going on?”就是年轻黑人打招呼的用语 (a form of greeting or open statement) 或 Hey, hey, hey, are you going to the movie?(帅哥,你是去看电影吗?)
$ I# ]8 t  Z/ U
" }# u5 C2 c. [" I! P7 }& x5. She is a ho
( ~" u; K- P) C# |0 `2 E/ {; _2 M& F" n
(a girl or woman gives sex freely without charge),也就是说:She is very loose. 或 She is a loose woman (girl)。
    They are (were) hos.
% _9 I0 \# L0 Z    There are quite a few hos in high schools. (a girl or woman is paid for sex.) * q( d: x( @; G! ]1 Z5 H+ n( A

/ q  v! \- H! I0 R* ^9 `6 d) [6. Catch you later!
2 N. N$ f' L6 t* m4 R& F
(a form to say“good乡bye”) 也就是说:现在没有时间与你交谈,以後再谈吧!(I don't have time to talk with you now, but we can talk later.) catch 後面,也可用其他人称代名词(him, her, them 等)
" Q9 @' C' Q% Y, \8 k有时年轻小伙子也用:I am off. I am leaving now; I'll talk to you again. + h* N( X; g% h, p, |2 F
