SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
4 p- @' b" v( h0 q! m3 z3 a/ B7 WSEDI is staffed to: 1 X B4 s, X6 `2 E6 J! @: A
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research * [+ |+ u5 M% p8 c
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
2 T: w" @; c: S• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
6 x: j: w; A3 K# h; d) V q• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs 8 u6 a8 v4 b7 A; F) x
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
7 w4 G) r# |8 w* C• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses # C, e k2 ]% f2 `6 U U/ a* @$ C
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada
+ A! a% |% y' ^Primary Responsibilities and Activities: 3 w+ V4 N1 ^" W; r V: h
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada $ r& m& r( f, T9 P1 y
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
% K2 `. U; y7 g3 ^, F0 j• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
0 u$ T: A4 h6 ?8 `2 t7 z, [& `• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities & V+ R5 V- L- F* Z4 a' g- ^
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team

Other Activities:
5 }/ I) t# s% Y- ~3 x( W+ o# S- J0 A• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
. J6 d0 ]: d4 n w0 K• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
}7 g* Z1 P2 x$ r- K; X• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
) i2 E3 x! i7 e• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
4 M0 \* n5 q& `, B$ O) F# M• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning 3 V" z0 C! K: x
Primary Qualifications:
/ r, j- G+ M% H: ^0 r) P3 V% H H• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
3 g( U' _! |5 z m• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media * n0 T$ v& o7 j. D& g Q7 @6 I
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
- B- w$ c! q x+ S: b( N• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
: A# M- x1 E* D+ D# k2 q# T: c' ~• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams 0 }' e3 N1 s, h6 _( k ]- C
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals
' N0 a2 P' ^( l) i( X' p• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
* j1 x1 { o- v' ^2 `2 A• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them / J- N+ C& |3 u
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc ! i6 V0 c' `( h3 L4 I/ L: V. Q
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education # F; K- ^5 y2 ?6 ]+ O1 c0 v6 `1 D( |
• Content / curriculum development experience

• Excellent organizational skills
+ K: u% H% [0 [, ?4 z6 M• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.
