- |+ f7 I8 S1 i3 {SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
( H% m' o: Y/ G/ mSEDI is staffed to:
, s; J7 \0 s9 U8 V& c8 k• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
% w5 p4 w+ Z; k k5 o3 H3 g• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners 1 J0 Z8 p' W6 y
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
% N4 F& `! t/ L4 N• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
7 E$ j) z+ w+ a5 q8 l! F4 x1 Z" `• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits 0 L5 I& }% o+ X g
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

Primary Responsibilities and Activities: {6 \+ u$ ~ G/ {, T" m+ h
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada 8 S6 m0 l2 A! _4 F
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) # J# R: }' m% C, G: j5 L7 F
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required ) r$ d0 a4 M; b
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities * c6 \0 F) g# ?4 F
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
* |$ b h% @6 M- x* N: u• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required & B+ ]/ W% L6 N* g3 Q. }1 ?8 _9 |4 B
Other Activities:# _3 L3 S+ n9 k* {
• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies % t# p1 [9 J! I" W6 ?
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
3 e6 h9 A$ K7 |4 h• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting , I; E0 C+ j: h& g
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports . V2 o* y. } x- }: z
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning 5 s+ l; r7 g2 J
Primary Qualifications:
+ {2 ^" b. u0 W* E+ ?" A0 R• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
, @8 N) e* K8 [' F* {2 _+ R• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
% M o5 i B- m. i/ U+ H" p, c• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training " I0 K: Q! k, A4 y( _ }2 d: U$ i
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
/ }7 B8 w. T, _1 [* t9 z8 R0 G• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams % t) J- ^1 |. w$ F' U. \

• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts + F8 m7 L+ ?2 ^5 f$ h9 f
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
0 ^ k, I- A# u6 u2 f9 F• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc * U: ~2 w8 s! P2 l, J
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education
