SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
& U7 ^$ ^% m0 O5 ]$ Z, fSEDI is staffed to: # w _. Q6 d Y0 `7 q
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research ) S. k' Z& d; d5 ^
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners # e4 {1 @7 }3 H7 J* M1 F* x
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
1 V: Q4 R0 A# V• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs " a: Y1 O/ u2 {2 I
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
: G: e5 C+ r3 |* N; |/ S• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses
) n- x) n4 G1 W6 C- W" y# f• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada
9 a7 ]- c h8 g: JPrimary Responsibilities and Activities: ! r" S% V5 p2 ^( b: G
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada ( A) \: `* {7 M" t {6 n
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
1 D$ I5 p* d% M; R; I& W; S• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required 5 C+ Y4 K1 ?9 V1 t) T% S
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
: p& D6 h1 Y4 x8 j* P* Y+ m• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
2 I* E# t' I. a1 I• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required 0 {$ G' q, F$ C8 P6 O; l( T
Other Activities:
' R$ J% H6 r* O* B X; @$ h• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
- D& j& D6 f2 B6 ^9 T; x) R4 I! R• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
8 p4 [0 t0 C* E• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting ' n2 i: [9 i Z) l
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
9 c7 c3 ~# @( C0 z" |1 n7 g. o• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning 1 F6 {' f( u1 b4 E: {* P
Primary Qualifications: , I; O0 R. t, I5 [
• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
- T1 z% A+ V4 P5 O" h. M• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
. e l& `2 B! i% O; j5 x: F& g• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
: N, V7 C! h! U• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
7 E7 U. Y c8 e9 K( l+ h, C# G; p• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams 3 P: X& D+ S! N/ D ?
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals . K- Y2 O* x# W* R; @
• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts ' }# F/ D2 p6 n, p9 q; N
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them ) ^1 \/ s7 q- e$ T9 @
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc % b/ n' j: `! m7 E5 \
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education
7 d1 T' r1 C. ^9 \ `! C h5 A) s• Content / curriculum development experience

• Excellent organizational skills

• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset 0 Y+ H i4 e/ x
• Policy research skill set is an asset
