Position: Outreach Worker

Job Description
% Y0 m+ a$ O( k: f/ c3 ~! u& D- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
-  develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
  T; ^7 O2 r! J& r) v4 w- provide support to ISP staff
! n! s! u/ `+ [- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
. ?, e4 x4 _+ E* P8 ]- e1 t- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
3 |+ e+ O1 B4 B- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
3 j( ^9 p" F0 A% d; p# }" e- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
' |0 D" f" X# \5 N, C# o6 X" d- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
# e2 l3 {6 `  |/ Q& J0 y% h$ Z- {: |- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned
- other duties as assigned

# K& K- p6 M; U% Z" m- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
# `3 i% q9 A6 R# r2 w6 q, q- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
* G8 D/ F# w4 G1 G- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
9 b2 Z8 }5 m: ]4 j- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
- good interpersonal and people skills
- good organizational and coordination skills
- valid driver’s license

- must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense
