Position: Outreach Worker

Job Description* O" t! w3 @8 `, _+ t$ Y
- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information' X1 r; E9 @7 A9 |5 R
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
" {* t9 ]0 F7 V) D6 u- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
. s* T- S" q' z7 a: m ]. I9 N" W- provide support to ISP staff+ P' k. t3 ?9 `" S$ m
- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members# J# d* @+ C. d# H9 }6 f+ W/ E) q* w+ h
- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
" T2 S# V+ U& T7 ?3 }3 w- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
* u& _5 |$ o* z% g; P/ O& \- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
- d: G2 }9 R7 x6 v. L' R- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
7 _/ m3 z4 |- R2 m- s) n- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
" S& D# u/ S) M" ~( M6 D8 Z" m- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
o Q# S6 L F4 `# B5 h6 {/ G- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities

Qualifications9 ~$ ~! n! Z% U2 o
- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
7 h; J7 V2 k3 W0 f" e6 V- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
/ m7 b; X: R2 a3 L7 J- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers: m3 }) Q' F+ d9 P2 V9 {
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
% K1 {# f* \' S6 A4 @- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)+ R9 j/ C! Z1 t+ a, K$ }; N1 [2 Y
- good interpersonal and people skills

- valid driver’s license; h* g6 a+ w! J& \
