Position: Outreach Worker

Job Description/ }7 b2 W6 N9 Z7 l! i
- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
8 d4 v( O& C; p9 X/ `8 z t9 {4 s- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.0 _ T i& ~4 B) f9 t
- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP: a- r7 C" M- u r- F' c+ m% `
- provide support to ISP staff4 K! @1 Z- ^" W- c2 S; V5 V& a
- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members1 _* \9 X+ y1 d U1 W" ~% ]
- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
, |- a& ^) L+ z) j2 ~- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated" K) g# F8 C! @
- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants! U. X8 C7 Z$ l$ k/ n- }- s c
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
( z/ t9 M0 U" s2 R _; d% x- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
- Q: L1 b1 ?8 B, f3 q. m- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.: V% t1 p Y* w5 e- x) c
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities0 m& [, {+ u( U6 {
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned

- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered8 \/ W5 H' o* `3 |
- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
/ r6 ]- Y a' ?, {( H( Z- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers! ~5 d/ o! q6 S' Y# K+ I: z: i% P
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software1 `6 R7 A: G) I+ `7 k; `+ N
- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)4 }' a, p- G$ O/ ?5 O3 w
- good interpersonal and people skills7 b! I0 y* U1 U& q ]
- good organizational and coordination skills* e) W7 G& S" Y) V& j5 ^
