Job Description
5 {7 e  v! K. y7 a3 g& N- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
+ |! I( S" \3 j1 _( N$ c8 M/ F/ d-  develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
- provide support to ISP staff
- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
" f# x7 g" G& i- t( F% i9 t- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
/ U! y+ ]2 N  ^% W6 D- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
3 h% a5 x2 D8 o' P0 b- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
0 |* a7 e: ~. V) r' v( T- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned
- other duties as assigned

% w  {9 }9 m4 C" xQualifications
9 s0 V& x, J6 f7 k) v- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
7 n6 [& o! O1 ~  B2 K- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
3 b4 k1 c% [6 r6 R! B* ^, |1 k- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
% A6 H3 ?" i% y& r6 r( P! W- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
6 ]3 ?6 O! V" i9 _- good interpersonal and people skills
- good organizational and coordination skills
- valid driver’s license

- must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

- $12/hr for 17.5hours/week, April 18 to March 31, 2007
