Job Description
8 k* \4 B9 _! [- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
& Q. A7 Z6 q( r; D8 _- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
-  develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
- provide support to ISP staff
' {& o4 e6 R' ^! ]7 d- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
8 C+ g1 F1 N4 n6 D5 ]- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
5 }9 z% l9 l  }' h- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
: C7 Y# [* N, l) S; C- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned
- other duties as assigned

Qualifications
5 O% `# G) K# ~! v4 H' b1 _- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
) |4 Q. `0 I% [- c5 u# B& Q- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
- good interpersonal and people skills
) J, l+ U: u8 m. h+ D8 w" s- good organizational and coordination skills

- must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

Salary
- $12/hr for 17.5hours/week, April 18 to March 31, 2007
