Job Description
, ]+ R/ R& A- D Z- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information( C/ @5 g$ E4 t
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
% K5 E" f, w, {! `# J! I4 w' f- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP2 _' v, a' T& |' K! a
- provide support to ISP staff
. ]" V% U& r, F+ e# I7 h0 ~- F- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
" G3 C( }; V- J% S: T- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
2 F2 M$ R1 h6 I% g- X- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
' q: [) Q7 t5 ^: {' X0 v+ i) r- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
9 u1 F) v9 E6 o- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
. d% t- V$ Y ?% u! d6 Z- w- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder# @$ {. A: R/ L: V, ^) H: _
- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
- ]$ c) @9 {: l+ k' C$ P% r3 o- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
5 `; z9 x4 x5 w* {- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned
- q7 J2 B' n4 A& K, N. m- other duties as assigned 1 G' I: Q+ n2 q0 r5 { v
3 o) R# J' W1 oQualifications4 R5 R; @# D) H- }; q) o
- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered) P7 k. Q% Q4 R" ~1 Y5 G
- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
$ J7 y% l/ {- L9 L# R0 j, d4 u- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
0 z8 y* g1 q6 y0 ? K8 _- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
7 A: ~, R: T" Q, c- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
W9 w1 u8 { h0 ^! |' O- good interpersonal and people skills
. I+ d- }2 E8 P" x, B- good organizational and coordination skills
