The Human Resources Advisor is a generalist position, responsible for providing a range of support and expertise, enabling management to deliver best practices and human resource solutions which support the business operations of the PCN.6 D( E7 \8 o7 ~
This role reports directly to the General Manager.

The key responsibilities of this role is to review and ensure effectiveness of day-to-day human resources functions, includes, but are not limited, to:
0 F' \ d- r; P( I2 |1. Recruitment, Selection and Orientation
) H/ _6 X! R3 H• Provide guidance and support for recruitment, sourcing, job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and selection practices, as well as job offers
4 k* d% O- i+ ~* ^( L) l0 G/ y• Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests" \; r S( U" F/ y5 }# C
• Ensure job descriptions are kept current5 R7 g* u+ U# }( L" H( I, g
• Manage the new employee orientation and orientation programs. a$ Q1 y) ~) P# y
• Support the administration of probation evaluations for all employees; ^: z4 }# l1 U" z
) R5 G+ t% _) a2 f* R# O
2. Policy and Procedure
( i& h+ L( o! y6 i1 M0 _6 E2 w( J• Provide recommendations for policies and procedures; when identified as a priority and delegated by the General Manager, develop the necessary documentation and seek approval
! ~, s9 h* }5 e3 G Manage all policies and procedures to ensure consistency, references are correct and there is no duplication or contradictions
3 p/ W' b7 v$ F: x* K! O% I• Advise all employees, especially Team Leads and Managers, on interpretation and administration of policies, procedures, programs and legislative compliance

3. Performance Management Support
( r' v* b8 h c! g/ g. h• Monitor attendance/absenteeism and assist with the administration of performance management program, d3 T# ]9 i5 ?) |5 F; ~- x
• Support Team Leads and Managers in the administration of discipline and employee coaching
& h) U: e, k$ B4 W• Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations)0 q2 t& u, b) t
• Conduct exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations2 [4 v, \4 w" I S7 c" E
• Member of, and responsible for, the Rewards and Recognition Committee% M7 f' E& R o+ U% Y! t

4. Human Resource Information Gathering4 y2 D" n# G" F3 ~( L+ k( C
• Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data – e.g. hires, absenteeism rates, performance appraisals
- {8 d! f* c( ?• Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices/ u+ U; f/ \. r" G

5. Management Support and Planning
% D& d1 ~/ P! _) s• Provide input and support to the management team on employee relations issues

6. Job Evaluation, Compensation and Classification

7. Payroll and Benefits& U1 J* y$ L0 N5 o0 u9 l
• Oversee payroll administration and maintain relationship with payroll provider
& D4 `" W) W+ d$ L6 s• Administer and educate employees of benefits and maintain a sustainable relationship with insurance providers5 M" B, \6 r+ [# A
• Manage claims for short-term and long-term disability, and ensure effective return-to-work programs' N7 ?" e! ~- T7 k

Qualifications & Expertise% E C+ @7 |# l* t+ U' F
 Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR generalist (series of progressive specialist roles will also be considered)% m3 h: R( x6 V
 Minimum 2-year diploma, preferably in human resources or business administration specializing in HR, or related area of study (equivalencies will be considered)
6 E6 D/ Z* c. a& ~( T& b A CHRP designation is an asset
1 D6 g- y1 Q8 Y0 v: ~ Experience in the health care industry is an asset
/ @4 J* _9 h- i3 O$ v* N- o' k Experience managing change is preferred

Hours of Work & (if any) Special Considerations
