Resource Room Advisor/Resume Writer7 B4 M; e7 }2 r7 i+ ?$ K3 y
 Provide ongoing positive encouragement and support to clients accessing the Resource Centre.4 e. _" S  E4 C# `* }7 _2 B1 c
 Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met.
4 P: @* o1 d) k# L% V' J Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.
; s" ^9 h9 l) x% N) ~0 d Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion., {; Q" P  R& w4 ~% S& h3 E
 Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.6 T; Y3 Z* H& {' [3 C! z

 Be required to work flexible hours, with some evening and occasional weekend work

 Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.

 Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.

 Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
7 P; q! n2 L: h Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.% [2 f" ]$ x2 Q% ?# }2 }( K
 Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.

 Keep up-to-date all other administrative tasks as directed by the Program Co-ordinator.

 Attend multi-agency and multidisciplinary meetings, as required! A* `; m# L% l: P5 s5 Z

Assessment Officer
2 ?. G# ?+ \8 z0 z) a& a# ^' | Responsible for intake, orientation and completion of workability assessments.
  X' F- H& \  U Deliver program overview to potential clients, as well as other interested parties.
  [9 y! P6 K: P- z Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.
5 [+ u% s! d; W$ v5 a/ b Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.
* ~$ G, z9 w/ l& n Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.' K" L' z  D$ N) {; O
 Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan./ w' m9 j, P4 |! {, n: N/ t" C% J4 D
 Create and update clients files on Mobius computer system

 Interact with participants on a continuous basis so that the Service Plan progress can be monitored throughout the program and into the follow up period

, o" ]( S# A) w Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan3 T# N; }, Y( o
 Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment3 s; G. A) `! `2 {9 Y8 ]# K/ a
 Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada
9 t4 t  f7 S' N$ `5 I" d6 u Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants
/ [* H) j" Z4 s/ Z0 A$ O2 n Complete participant reviews with the participants
8 _1 c( ~% U9 i' | Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion" ~4 ~% B! m9 ~* Y. ^. n
 Perform other duties as assigned by manager/coordinator
