Resource Room Advisor/Resume Writer. P( H/ d) o3 }, W* `& p4 D& A
 Provide ongoing positive encouragement and support to clients accessing the Resource Centre.
8 n; c5 X, w3 A' D7 l Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met.
7 \* h: z( h% N. m  @+ ], t" f Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.1 M& _' ?, ^$ }+ _( R' ]5 {
 Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.
6 ?$ `! Y+ h( L Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.

 Be required to work flexible hours, with some evening and occasional weekend work+ _  I- K; u. Z7 p+ C$ o

Settlement Counsellor
  \  L3 _8 w/ w# J Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.5 L. L& e; M7 d1 c
 Support newcomers participation in the settlement program.: L1 A$ V. V1 k& O, |4 e0 u6 [. ^; C
 Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.1 ?# }3 k: a/ \" B4 s
 Encourage independence and self determination in newcomers& s0 `9 W2 V  ?2 w
 Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.* G( P$ V5 h7 R
 Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.! v/ r  E0 G2 ?  q6 V  g2 V
 Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.
' E# j7 B; I! B7 q5 h( _* s Ensure that newcomers know and understand their entitlements.. R, {, f8 `! p3 h  p& Y
 Keep up-to-date all other administrative tasks as directed by the Program Co-ordinator.

 Responsible for intake, orientation and completion of workability assessments.8 g# y+ e; E7 G- j1 o
 Deliver program overview to potential clients, as well as other interested parties.9 G$ A+ Q0 ?* A; M( {# t1 V( Y7 m
 Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.# i3 J9 L( k; P5 ^3 J5 P
 Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.
  b: t2 }3 v$ }1 u+ t Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.: d* V  E/ f; b, q
 Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan.

 Interact with participants on a continuous basis so that the Service Plan progress can be monitored throughout the program and into the follow up period

 Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan
) j! y! }( ]2 n4 _ Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment
, j2 w5 O8 _0 Y4 k$ m Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada. b( S' q' l; i1 k6 `! _7 B+ j& N
 Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants
! ^9 l0 y- Y4 {/ m. y Complete participant reviews with the participants* A+ B& u. ]3 f' u. q0 c+ T
 Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion: Z% }% m* J& ]" P$ ?8 p; B
 Perform other duties as assigned by manager/coordinator+ W2 }, a  H: g8 G
