2 E) M/ _2 {4 `( @/ E4 KThe Coordinator is responsible for the over-all management and operations of the
/ O; S2 h2 ~+ S S$ G- ?; v. worganization. The Coordinator defines the objectives, policies and goals for the* ^% w6 D; t, Q$ t! g S0 M
operations of the organization staff within the general board policies. He/she has
0 f6 B8 T, E5 a1 Z# y% ]3 U0 _the important responsibility of accurately reporting on financial progress,; C5 j$ Q: n: U8 C, [
operational concerns, organizational problems and accomplishments at regular' P6 [8 w5 f6 _3 U. i- x9 ^! Y
board meetings. Short-range planning is the responsibility of the Coordinator and is
6 ]# A ~+ R( l+ R6 i- Yconducted within the policy guidelines of the board. The Coordinator is an
! i3 d& D1 _7 m" s" Y& Hemployee of the board and therefore should not be part of the board which hires- A( ?& l$ l, e. \+ O. E5 b# H$ ?
staff and sets their salaries. However, the Coordinator should be required to attend

The specific functions of the coordinator include the following:
/ j, d7 h# E9 M! R1. Provides over-all coordination of Coalition activities in consultation with the

+ @& T6 r1 Y# M) }/ a$ h2 M4 H5 I2. Builds and sustain relationships and partnerships with ethnocultural
) t& _! I! f: { O$ }organizations, immigrant and refugee communities, voluntary organizations9 i5 J: l ~) z8 r2 ~: z! b
and public institutions
6 A+ u' U( N5 ], L9 e3 u3. Seeks opportunities to ensure sustainability of the organization through. f1 R1 J0 y- e) @# d
funding opportunities and maintaining initiatives
# `9 j% _' L& e6 V2 I) u+ }) U4. Liaise with funders, public and non-profit organizations and community) P+ j7 _; d, ?3 Q% t' q5 |/ i

1. Maintain an adequate bookkeeping and accounting system; provide for its
2 U. ~& l! g0 K% f. j% vregular examination by competent outside auditors, selected by the board of
" I- H. F& ^8 Bdirectors, and at the regular annual meeting, present a statement to the" n4 N) e: A8 G5 x* H% B# s
members of the Coalition’s financial condition.
& I% Y1 V3 H0 q$ H% v1 R2. Recruits and hires staff for programs and other initiatives of the
* x# l9 a6 s# K: a4 @2 CMulticultural Coalition: U7 v" @2 A' Y
Relationship of the Coordinator to the Board
+ j* r- T( b0 s3 x' Z. d& MAll operating decisions, employing and supervising personnel, choosing ways to8 [6 j! f0 L C
implement policies, planning the Coalition’s day-to-day activities, and coordinating0 h/ Y* Q( ]4 I2 d' r/ p
operations are a part of the Coordinator’s responsibility.
1 [* G( E5 |- r, ]) T: H1 V- rThe Coordinator shares some responsibilities jointly with the board, such as longrange planning. The Coordinator usually provides the initiative and then assists the board in decision-making. The purpose, future directions, broad basic policies, and
' Z A+ M' |2 J' Jaims and objectives of the organizations are decided upon by this process. It should0 ^* Z9 M: v; I5 c, I; N. e2 c4 Z) N" |
be noted that the board members make the policy decisions guided by membership1 \0 f# p3 D& [9 _$ [& h6 y
participation and the Coordinator should confine his or her activities to helping and q% e/ V0 f$ m# W- S _# h" s; k
facilitating this process with the Board. The Coordinator attends all board of6 A, r+ |* M( M9 D$ A, g, z
directors' meetings and make available a business report and a monthly financial+ s7 i* l l5 G) I
statement as a minimum requirement. She/he brings to the board's attention all
# @" k2 W* K( Qmatters requiring board consideration and action. She/he confers with the board of

Pay Range & Terms
