; S. t3 g0 P, y* H6 |The Coordinator is responsible for the over-all management and operations of the
, S( U% X3 j( y7 Vorganization. The Coordinator defines the objectives, policies and goals for the
- P; U& }, a: o- poperations of the organization staff within the general board policies. He/she has* s& S, X, j0 N: _% y% [2 h
the important responsibility of accurately reporting on financial progress,
3 v2 Q8 w6 l6 Z! `$ ~7 Y9 Aoperational concerns, organizational problems and accomplishments at regular2 W( t0 V4 _; f8 @
board meetings. Short-range planning is the responsibility of the Coordinator and is
# c: v+ ?' t1 E6 Dconducted within the policy guidelines of the board. The Coordinator is an
2 I8 Z/ c3 _% G6 E6 k8 Bemployee of the board and therefore should not be part of the board which hires
- @, C& C s% A* c! j8 Q; Z8 kstaff and sets their salaries. However, the Coordinator should be required to attend- d% P% e6 c. q* t t& a: v# Q

Functions and responsibilities:

1. Provides over-all coordination of Coalition activities in consultation with the- G4 @4 s+ h# P3 T' Y

2. Builds and sustain relationships and partnerships with ethnocultural- F# u& z" x, G! P
organizations, immigrant and refugee communities, voluntary organizations

6 W. h. E, S$ m: O0 V% x3. Seeks opportunities to ensure sustainability of the organization through

4. Liaise with funders, public and non-profit organizations and community

Administrative responsibilities:3 X5 O# p$ a6 X
1. Maintain an adequate bookkeeping and accounting system; provide for its# o" n7 z# _& C- |7 ]
regular examination by competent outside auditors, selected by the board of9 s3 g: U; I, I
directors, and at the regular annual meeting, present a statement to the
; a8 \# |4 y+ N. g3 fmembers of the Coalition’s financial condition.

All operating decisions, employing and supervising personnel, choosing ways to/ W- N" h+ i* d1 s0 {9 X4 B
implement policies, planning the Coalition’s day-to-day activities, and coordinating
" b, s0 @# N: ^( I& m$ coperations are a part of the Coordinator’s responsibility.! c8 O9 i; e% S, j! p
The Coordinator shares some responsibilities jointly with the board, such as longrange planning. The Coordinator usually provides the initiative and then assists the board in decision-making. The purpose, future directions, broad basic policies, and
. i0 d* B/ i1 V* Q7 b* Zaims and objectives of the organizations are decided upon by this process. It should
4 t1 J+ _( A3 o( Q$ V6 Hbe noted that the board members make the policy decisions guided by membership
( M$ J( T! H, h: K/ N; b: k. k% vparticipation and the Coordinator should confine his or her activities to helping and B$ s; x: _/ q: F
facilitating this process with the Board. The Coordinator attends all board of
, `' M2 K" b# N, [directors' meetings and make available a business report and a monthly financial
, T: x" j+ n2 Y& r# estatement as a minimum requirement. She/he brings to the board's attention all h& v/ o; B$ `6 N F0 c& @
matters requiring board consideration and action. She/he confers with the board of
