死和干细胞研究而深受广大右翼保守派基督徒和穆斯林选民青睐的美国共和党高层人物

议题上持右翼保守立场，自身同性恋但是伪装成异性恋和异性结婚，为了政治目的公开

years, Jim West supported several anti-gay bills, including one that would

He also proposed a law that would ban all sexual activity among persons
under the age of 18 (the bill failed). He would later admit that he
( o9 f4 ?4 B5 H8 l, o9 zregretted voting for those measures.[1] In 1995, when West was a state
senator, he advocated the impeachment of then-Gov. Mike Lowry for alleged
sexual harassment.

West was involved in a sex scandal in 2005. He was accused of sexually
abusing two young boys in the 1970s and 1980s when he was a sheriff's deputy
# M( \8 e# Z6 h7 a2 @% _8 gand Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
) W; ]! ^8 D& x/ z* vto lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation
) Z  H7 ^7 M% W) \1 sallegations "flat lies". However he admitted to having private online
  @. p( f6 A' ~3 wrelationships in the past year through the Gay.com website (see ([3]).

West confirmed the accusations of meeting men over the Internet but denied
4 \5 w+ s& ?9 D  W. Z6 H' J5 n/ q, Othe charges that he had sought out minors (see[4]). Using the name "Right-
BiGuy" he allegedly offered internships to young gay men (some of whom were
just graduating from high school - none of whom, however, under the age of
18.

preacher. Known as Pastor Ted to the congregations he served, he is the

Colorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was

sex and methamphetamine. Initially Haggard denied even knowing Mike Jones,
but as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual
immorality" to his list of confessions.[2]

After the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive
+ w% s1 V  G' Bcounseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those
ministers, Tim Ralph, said that Haggard "is completely heterosexual."[3]
8 O+ E4 |# L+ O7 m) V5 T6 a% o: BRalph later said he meant that therapy "gave Ted the tools to help to
embrace his heterosexual side."[4] As of early 2009, Haggard continues to
receive counseling, and now he says that he is a “heterosexual with issues.

On January 23, 2009, officials from Haggard's former church announced that a
young male church member had come forward in 2006 and that there was an "
overwhelming pool of evidence [of an] inappropriate, consensual sexual
# T+ I1 |$ P5 ?4 brelationship [that] went on for a long period of time [with Haggard] ... it
wasn't a one-time act."[76] Haggard's successor, Brady Boyd, said the church
! J( c+ a* C0 }# ~! \reached a six figure settlement with the man, who was in his early 20s at
the time.[78] According to the man, he said the contact was "not consensual"
and this is not about "opening new wounds" it's about a much larger issue.[
