Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
; ?8 C: S2 Q4 T9 j3 z Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
( H# Q0 n, W" m Social work degree or diploma
: Z$ v- {/ b' N" ~5 i Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
. S+ }( j7 s# I Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
8 j3 U& L' `2 L4 a6 { Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
& w; w6 \, P; \( W. f, G Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
