Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
8 f9 L0 C$ ]+ y6 u7 o3 z/ Z* p Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
! R* D5 ?* `& V7 N: p Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
, T5 M/ Z  ^& o/ e/ c. B* s Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
) ~5 X$ g+ a) o) [% ^# T5 ^' @3 s Social work degree or diploma
7 G8 H6 p& `% a$ { Current RSW designation preferred   
7 h" G& [6 X3 S& ` Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
' F& Z9 ?/ d% O  M Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
) x* B9 }; ^1 `: F% X Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
