 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
% n. H$ k" N) }9 O8 n  |) T Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
* Q! U$ q% G- M' |! t# a Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
( y: d; a1 K0 B6 ]0 {. B Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
9 y6 x, m. o9 e6 i Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
- d/ T2 R9 y% q9 h% T* @ Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

# S* J4 o; p4 c' P/ o" D# R7 s6 Z/ M' Z! q Social work degree or diploma
. G+ a. j: K- x+ X9 z Current RSW designation preferred   
7 |* P5 p2 X6 T) S7 ~6 W0 ~3 _ Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
6 Z/ V4 Z! {/ X8 ^ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

EMCN is a community agency that provides a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees. Further information is available at www.emcn.ab.ca.  Salary for the position begins at $34 879. A cost-shared benefits plan, including RRSP, is available.
