Duties# D/ H l4 Y, g9 I0 F
Delivers, sorts and picks up mail, parcels, courier documents, cylinders, crates, dangerous goods, furniture, tack boards, tables and chairs, surplus equipment, and any related incoming and outgoing items8 z' M& J/ C; ] o% v
Obtains signatures, scans traceable items into Palm Pilots upon delivery to departments# N0 w4 {- ]( s0 d- G% L
Ensures Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations are followed on TDG shipments inbound and outbound1 Y5 y" v- k! F: m
Prioritizes workload and requests from dispatcher and team lead' K; V% m4 V+ j# v! _& n( D4 _
Operates University vehicles from small vans to 3-ton trucks, including standard transmissions- R/ ~, l; P- X( f& M4 M
Performs related duties as required% N0 g3 Q2 D# E8 b- W
Qualifications- `7 L! l& s" O2 F, N l' h
Valid Class 5 drivers license - the successful candidate will be required to provide a Drivers' Abstract and have completed a Defensive Driving course in the previous 2 years.! W) u6 G" ~3 S+ ^) s
High School diploma; previous driving experience required
. v( f* O3 g8 _4 ~4 z, P- E8 ]Current certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods; Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) certification
