Duties
4 P* L, A7 j9 \6 s0 C$ cAssists with the creation and implementation of computer software as directed by the project management team (includes leading edge machine learning techniques, robot control, gaming and simulation)# x* A; q# x$ C" ~0 O! v
Provides techical support to end-users as directed and is responsible for ensuring end-user usability and satisfaction when required) t4 H5 s, G, U: k% p
Performs other general programiming tasks such as building GUI (graphical user interfaces) front ends, etc. as directed8 L- m! l: ~! H- i/ v8 `/ N9 G
Performs related tasks as needed) m2 |5 h/ N& L# b' E/ S( e
Qualifications
% q1 l- E; T1 O; g( i. {- ^, eDiploma in Computing Science; undergraduate degree in Computing Science preferred7 N" ?" j7 \# M0 ^! R" X
Demonstrated work experience with Web programming and scripting tools such as PHP and Perl, and mySQL database design and management; knowledge of MatLab, Weka and CVS repository system preferred
7 L' c3 R. N! H5 j$ n2 eSolid knowledge of microcomputer operating systems (Windows XP as well as Unix/Linux); experience in other domains (Bioinformatics, electronic entertainment, ecommerce) an asset; Dynamic programming an asset( N" ]4 J% {4 I, h& p
Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies preferred
) _' a9 N! o% n* K6 r J* eFamiliarity with object orientated analysis and design and project life-cycle methodologies is a benefit! V2 z6 r$ ?5 ?( j
Relevant programming experience using Java, C++, and other programming languages5 x9 q' H& T' F( R7 ^
Ability to adapt in a high technology research environment
