Key Responsibilities & Duties:

& x$ m* [5 E  c% M- ~ Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
) o3 p# e0 ?0 k Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
  ?; I" s2 R7 B Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
1 I8 d5 d* p. n" ~/ p Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
9 b- a( f: f1 `7 C Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
0 Y, H: o+ V- f' n% c% x  d Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
! B# o; M) e5 g- ?/ ?0 X Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

6 _: G1 n# R( A/ c) w6 E) B" `9 |+ vPosition:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
+ q/ g( R# c+ I6 `. U, Cstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
