' @8 r# v5 y+ ^/ b, o" k Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
/ p+ `9 e8 V1 O5 r+ u3 Y2 ~+ r Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
0 P  D8 }) v5 C" w* v8 } Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
7 b( `, b* F: R* c Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
9 i6 H; J. S2 k# Q% W& b Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
: E! k: t0 c1 x" u$ X Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
% I2 O" ?# q: Y' u# U1 j2 U) v Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

/ a8 ]* |0 L7 Y" H3 d Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
. J0 r" L/ z/ A2 a3 h Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
/ ^% V  k* o. b3 N Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
  W+ D2 H9 @  R Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
5 s+ j- j) L& s0 p; s, F Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
