The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.9 m0 f( `! U# L1 g

OPERATIONS/ n6 P- X. ?$ |# P" O
• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.8 w7 N) u3 Z' h; O
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
# S7 W& f% k5 y, {5 R" K• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
) @ J& u8 l& Y$ D• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills., V1 A3 |: U8 a& O9 u
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
) y8 c. B# z1 u1 _( p• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.( p* d. P# l! t! t7 F8 N, v2 _
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
1 ~' k- e4 y) a9 G; v• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities i$ i6 {' B9 K! J
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required; Y8 r- S& V' b2 f+ v- D

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO+ X$ A% c/ n" Q5 J, c
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up* P3 P0 k& x5 A0 F: ?

# O$ }% I! M1 M• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
, u/ E0 W, s2 C& i7 K! B2 o• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
0 @: M! |8 L% a( Y$ Y/ ^8 }• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
% i, K; M; R; z' i• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances- p x6 S: U2 `4 G5 s9 S7 x
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required0 I6 H7 i2 g# ^; o, N

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS) t% R0 P5 ?2 ?# F- O% p
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers& E, T9 F" P0 o n& i# O+ s
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)6 L( }0 x/ j: U' }9 G* y) E
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
; `# H1 ^' {5 w2 N/ Z6 r• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required% f& `, `1 @' }* u+ }3 _

Qualifications:/ ]6 [' A) e8 Y# ?2 a' b `* l
! C* k. H# P4 {7 M% q: H1 R• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination* g6 R+ Y) ?) Z' S
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability9 l3 X" W& _) @8 t1 B
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills6 o( S0 S0 X) J1 h4 V
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills - y* @" {0 a# w+ z5 t% p+ C
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure

• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
