The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
' M$ p) K6 h! @$ y- f• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.5 e- s T8 M4 S; w
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge Q5 |& I1 @1 ~' L* P
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
) _1 L4 K. V2 a" m3 K5 O) v• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
7 P. h7 K& z$ h- X* J" A7 f• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.

• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities) h* L6 ^( `: n' R) v' K, D5 I
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
2 O" |) t8 B3 d; y, ?• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position, H3 L: M2 L, X
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
- `/ |9 @$ g* J" X0 D+ K4 \5 K1 ^• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate

• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 3 s5 p3 b0 u; v, M- ^3 v1 H8 T# _% F
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency% ^. V9 y8 O. o5 z" f$ i! _
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

FINANCE
4 i) A6 T1 q7 c, G# g6 b' E$ D/ Q• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
$ B# l3 I! `$ n; E0 O5 l( P• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required$ I- v+ ^% H, r O# k# @

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
* W7 S& y3 Z, W1 U. {- K• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
; B% {: ^) e" Q• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
4 O# K/ y1 a" B' U• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
4 l: G$ x, ~% a! ~: O0 d• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required$ Y6 k. q6 j# r- A. C/ Y7 i

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination

• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills6 K ]# L2 X9 |" B$ b
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
& K$ [* [ l- G, R5 d• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
