The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.: Q" X6 M8 S& H! g: m4 w8 Z0 I6 q8 E

OPERATIONS
6 g( ~4 e5 i' F( w• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.+ \% h) _% R1 }. ?3 Y* }
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
/ N2 {" u6 u6 Z6 M% w( s8 b• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge; {- U/ @1 d$ i6 \) L/ ~* \# l" n+ K2 {/ ^
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.

- F* z9 S' Z1 Z1 z7 C6 M& I+ Q• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
/ ]5 h/ [0 {! N• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
( b( l1 y1 Y! Q' _• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
6 m0 ~7 Y! _- s8 \ ^• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required5 s' e5 l1 K; j7 a4 _; V

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
, f2 @( s7 j( B6 Z- ~9 Q% _6 d• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up$ s% y. u+ S% L4 ?* ~: J
+ \+ {- f# j7 P/ W3 y7 SADMINISTRATION2 F+ z: o2 C& n0 a c2 [7 [7 X# R
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
# _4 Z5 t- w) O$ i: n- K• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
b5 P; q; f6 C9 {• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate! C4 T' X' S- x6 t8 k+ r; D2 a# T0 \: M
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department1 ^0 H3 J. O! {& g3 V4 ?; m
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 5 ?8 `2 p" z, B, Y
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
) {3 s) }/ V! \0 q: z• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services/ ^: O2 d4 ]% r5 m( O! P
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes+ S7 \$ b9 m' h* d8 U. n% K7 E
• Prepare a regular monthly program report. H$ C8 N3 w1 f$ |3 z6 G; e4 j

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances, n+ o6 x; n Q) J" w
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

/ V- N2 }& R7 @$ M5 y1 aINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
0 C8 [2 o4 m2 e• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
* ~0 k# \" V/ U) y2 x• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)7 p$ r, i9 V" R% x4 f- r
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
Z' j( F0 y2 X7 w• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability/ L" X6 v- {/ a! v1 e5 o. [ M1 F
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills% H1 J* x0 Q+ J; a
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills ( M/ E3 X2 b1 I7 v) @2 @
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure4 b6 ]2 K2 z7 d- j
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects

• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
