The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
2 N$ x4 d6 z: |, c+ n# P& F• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.+ I; m+ j }$ v! O* k) E
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
`9 b6 ^6 `- u3 f• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills. O9 p# L% F! x* s) \$ ^
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
4 Y" \- i2 C3 `, i2 k8 d+ p0 j• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
; J( F3 s; X5 A! D7 F3 x• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
5 ~2 o) W' U' |& N• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities3 p3 `9 j! `* H c
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
2 c+ T2 I5 c- ? H& F$ {• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up) d$ d8 W% |+ P0 q3 }( _

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
% g* r3 G/ a9 }) J! ^; n• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation2 q; }* M/ _, m2 I
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
/ P* \5 I6 t& G: P9 Y [• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department8 E r' Q6 }) K |; o$ A
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required & q b! ^5 h8 p6 d1 c
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency1 H; q% K5 l2 ^) n, h
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services" b. F; w+ C& [! o" i1 C6 C: i
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE
" {& k8 a% d: X1 a- g• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
, K2 X& U* y2 l• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

; W( M# r- c' D6 N& J8 A$ [INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
) l/ U5 D" r! a$ y5 H1 S0 t; P• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
: M- \% ?, S9 g- i' K# `• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
- {5 ]# z2 {* }) w: B• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 2 g# K. d2 N+ Y' M
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
7 y; _- l: k5 }- @• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
% f' \( l6 y* Z7 _* i• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills. {& N9 y6 w" M& ^; A$ J6 T' j8 G
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
1 d* @( p- h7 |+ q• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure1 |# J1 l3 ^; @( Q6 S; _
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
: P7 n- A' n7 W" N% Z• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
8 L/ S6 D" [3 e9 {• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
