The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.' e/ T2 Z& j- i

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

OPERATIONS
8 \- s F9 I' R0 \8 h; q• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
% t4 i' S' c! p: r• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.! D5 a g: W3 B9 f
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
; P+ ~& w( ] b* I3 @$ x# e' g• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills." S% ?& L1 a) Q3 V6 W' K
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
# v& }5 j5 F7 ~9 G" `7 q7 @• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.5 K% o% n! q6 Y8 b
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
( M' G2 y; ~& K5 l7 z, D• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities u% z- p4 x4 {- O
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position6 E! i3 d V6 D
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation7 e6 H# {% [3 Y- P! I+ W7 W) v" a
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate1 {- V- V) p# A; R6 u
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department' X) N' A8 F5 A& d% Y+ g1 j
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required . F* U& l+ T( c+ m# J5 i7 B
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
+ M' u2 L6 H8 {% S3 P• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
) r" O8 C) L' f# K2 ^7 j7 i& c• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)7 e8 \. h& \$ R Z' M6 J
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
2 \9 e- `, N) |: p9 W• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

* [0 x A7 ^# E9 K) t4 P• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination. y: }0 K w- b: G4 }
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability+ s/ M# K7 o% O$ G: {$ u8 Q0 M. ^
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills( j$ |$ p$ p& Y( `6 ?
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects 6 e0 ?4 i; j" g0 F- K& ~/ y1 W
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality, s2 p4 J- o9 x' `% A/ H0 ^
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial 0 q3 g; w' F4 `/ n- E. G" p$ h6 _" k
