Mechanical Engineer/Specialist –Research Equipment Design

An engineering start-up, which is committed to support the R&D and industrialization of process technologies in North America with expertise and international resources, now accepts applicant for the position of Mechanical Engineer /Specialist through Industry r&D Associates program, Alberta Ingenuity.

Major Responsibilities:
•        Process research equipment design;
' J. u( O! l& w•        Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;
•        Equipment fabrication guidance;
6 u4 A8 l! w2 h! h0 |' m& Z•        Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;
4 o' u. m( r2 I' b. n& j•        Others.

3 W3 {- ^: K, l1 ~& V6 i( kQualifications:
2 ~% v+ Y( s: X, w•        Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months.
/ _' M% a% Z6 P2 f6 n" B6 [0 `•        Equipment design experience is required;
•        Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;
•        Familiar with CAD software;
•        Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
' d, Z6 Z/ k- X! `, u/ t) Q/ P•        Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

5 z. C5 ~  v/ n( ~Successful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term.
