Key Responsibilities & Duties:

- W9 [+ g# r/ D, q+ U: f Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
. B+ o# k  z  t5 p. Q( S2 i; L% e4 f& ? Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
6 r. j& K" G3 {5 \ Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

* d( h, m- J. f2 k# CQualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
/ |6 m% p6 A) n& W( I Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
6 m% n& C5 Q; W Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
4 V( l& u( O& r- M! \& s; w  g Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
