Key Responsibilities & Duties:

) \9 u# j, R! F# c- L/ E& _ Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
+ Q- r% }# o( Y4 c Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
) T2 ]. Q6 B. W! F Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
* ^) [. G% q- q- [3 F& l Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
+ W0 ~* s4 L( w7 A Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
1 U, Q, p( I( S' D Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
: z# F7 \1 h5 d- `/ h8 y: R Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
  \$ k/ {# f! p: n9 v! i* Q" X Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
* t) x6 s& E2 d% J2 W$ c Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
- w) \  C" G# ]5 {: Y" j+ d Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
+ }: Y, T; v1 i, ~) B7 g' G Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
7 K- x7 h- R, ?/ b. h* p: I5 cstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
