Key Responsibilities & Duties:

5 ~6 Q  _" b. T* r9 A1 a. } Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
+ p3 K1 g$ e4 w# X) k Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
$ t& A) r/ ^5 ^& G7 N7 p4 \ Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
7 X. f( P  F, O$ | Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
9 R2 @# @: h2 L8 E; _: \1 t Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
/ ^9 I$ n0 b9 Q4 r3 X Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
( Y2 C1 Z- d' T1 t6 B$ ]1 H Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
+ m4 h0 P' W' p& S Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
5 s2 A# `1 i# V9 ^8 k Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
3 u5 c; x, A! x" P Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

* e$ ]  o) \; h4 D7 cPosition:
  F9 B0 C- o; d, \5 V5 JThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
2 M5 t& Q8 ~0 i* F6 G3 ~starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
