Key Responsibilities & Duties:

4 f! M) N6 Z9 V8 K- x" L1 q( W- O& z Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
1 q+ |* j) e/ q% e$ V4 W7 B Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
" I. e$ t( F( D, v Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
4 U# U3 l9 c4 I Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
. Q* h! U5 H3 ?8 b7 q/ }6 x6 P# ?# ~ Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
) E; B" G$ J5 `3 I Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
5 w1 w2 O6 z8 k+ Y) N' z Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

, u" A' {# Y3 ^+ GQualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
& o5 X( s6 y1 {4 e Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
& \- W2 Z+ M. O6 _ Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
+ G& y- U- T+ N4 m Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
) ]8 I( F7 Q: D+ P& C Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
