Essential Qualifications: excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society; experience facilitating educational sessions using participatory techniques; demonstrated leadership abilities with youth; experience with project coordination; degree or diploma in human services field. Preferred: knowledge of immigrant or Aboriginal culture and/or language; experience with functioning of non-profit society.

Under the direction of the Program Manager you will:

4 X+ m9 C8 {5 i# H( y- g5 y) u# e9 HRecruit Volunteers – facilitate on-going recruitment of volunteers to participate in the core group of PA; this is done by inviting members of groups who are being presented to, making contact with other youth groups, and by print media, broadcast media, and e-mail invitations.% @, q3 X. c0 F
+ j, |4 |# ]7 {- ?# gTraining – facilitate weekly meetings of core group volunteers. Training in participatory techniques, presentation techniques, and knowledge of race-related issues.9 I6 a# }( a' E# z7 M# ]. _7 P
& Y2 Z0 Q. m8 G0 W% K* dOrganize Presentations – advertise presentations through distribution of brochures and posters and by contacting interested groups and schools by phone, email, and mail; take requests for presentations, set up dates, and ensure adequate volunteers are present to facilitate discussion.8 F* y7 i) [$ @9 y0 Z ]4 C

Networking – attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate; create/maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations.& {# c& G& D0 O; e6 E. }
8 R& C2 J! M; S& z$ d1 w7 bProfessional Development – be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position.; }" m/ l% z* V# M# v
3 \# e+ T) y, U" ?1 g3 e* ?Proposal Creation – with program manager, create proposals to all funders of this project. Ensure criteria for each funder is met in each proposal. Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators. - K& o, @5 O4 ]: b n
, G& K: K7 T( }* f' QProject Evaluation & Reports – submit timely monthly, quarterly, annual reports and include in all interim and final reports, outcome measures using indicators from logic model.1 l0 W! V$ s1 N7 q
