5 D( w* q# X9 s* p5 q7 z8 m1 H1 y8 yAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

( h4 M$ }& B7 q• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
  R9 m* Y$ D6 a# t• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
; u2 w& i7 T: \# \/ |9 b# q( D  g/ B• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
* ]/ t  S$ h( D1 R1 E3 S$ D• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
# a' d( t, V9 l+ @+ b  k• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
* C/ |) Y# L) P9 t. D5 T5 Q) e• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

! f- U+ h7 n" F: t* `! M* ?" W/ s3 D& N5 SSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
! x* ?9 z# {+ M& Q9 e1 s• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
9 u( D* \: Y1 g8 Z" F# |% v• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
# N- g  n, h& C. n, r& ~9 f& x• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
) k: R( z/ D- K; k$ M8 Z# |• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
( w9 o" W( A6 e1 a$ r- b( w8 _• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
6 ]: U7 ~+ f7 W0 @3 B3 T0 `3 i/ S" y• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
