FUNCTION:
5 H6 F. e) ]$ ?* [! \; jAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
9 \/ Q9 I  I  ^" y9 _• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
; O( Q7 h, e7 ]+ ^• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
) U* d) y# E6 U4 T% c• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.

" `, M8 u1 @- \9 F0 l/ t# c• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
# W- n) o# N8 o- H. ?* J• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
. S3 ?& u' G8 `  s. Y# u1 P• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
; [9 q0 w" o- l  u* F$ L4 T" K• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
& E% i- O8 D' u+ B8 h, Y• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
6 D! |7 F8 h! L! D• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
5 d1 ?" Z. U7 ?& D• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
: N) X( L  @1 ?• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
