5 X4 k  C+ Q! Q% s7 u$ r% [; dAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

2 ?; s2 U) b- Y: O# b2 H/ u• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
; `: P% _9 v% N; {2 Z1 k- i9 }1 l• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
  N+ q% R3 D! B9 R& A6 U• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
. k. [6 ?! ?3 F. y# J* w% }3 p• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
: U+ _1 e- e+ x3 o& g3 S! \• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
( e& z3 @' s' o: b3 X• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
* ^+ w5 q: x% A- O+ D0 d• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
% w; r* K- K7 W% F. u6 g* M7 G• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
; H( w5 j" I& O• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
