& O% [  V7 k5 z+ Y0 u! m" a( A. HAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

, B+ m0 G8 g& ]3 R) q1 E0 `6 K• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
* Q0 b) F7 r4 ]/ s• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

' i; h6 f' g+ p( u$ X7 x" [& T• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
6 {* T" c; e  t5 S7 C• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
* n  e) K6 W1 j1 C• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
1 X3 e9 w  o, b' R$ R* }6 T! X( r2 c• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
$ c9 p0 q. q! }6 P• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
) k4 u! ]( c3 n- P( _+ H• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
& m( z; x' a/ R• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
9 |" T2 X* @1 @3 P• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
- [% ~' x$ n# q• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
* H! H9 g' p4 K: e: B: G• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
# ~$ D# }' e0 i3 I" k% [1 j: ]• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
4 G) h- l6 H6 y" j• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
