3 R1 M9 P# H; F, L2 g( uAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

* r9 y% n1 w3 j2 fDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
. f1 w8 n8 H: E6 w1 x# e9 u• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
, ^! z7 H# _3 g% S9 D• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
- e0 P' c6 S% m5 m, f# \• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
# Q( o1 a  g; {0 o3 Q# q• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
1 @& u) @! [2 \; H• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
$ k" J) W0 a: }% g• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
! a; ?# G5 D/ N: I5 h) J4 i• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
* P( n5 t% |% e% t, e$ [7 I* v• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
' N. ~! B) K& G7 F( y1 \+ L2 `" Y• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
7 h+ g! e" C1 Q3 n- n+ L6 u$ j, v• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
$ X$ a5 M" A0 M8 F5 c7 O# {• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
8 }# y. m1 L; m* i+ ~1 k* L0 m' A• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
$ F1 o, a0 q$ Y• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
% t4 M2 I8 h- ]  w; Q; _7 V# V7 o• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
