6 o4 T5 w7 q, a; p+ U Nature of Work: The Social Worker will report to the manager of mental health services.

newcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social " z' O- m7 _7 _; Y9 u( P
Worker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as 5 @5 P Z9 Z0 a, c, Y4 P# z
needed. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for " B$ @7 c+ c8 X' D
newcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial , h3 r% }6 Q' q- y: o' s' P' f
assessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-7 T) \) b- p1 v/ p9 D# B

Accesses comprehensive, up-to-date information about services and resources available

Providing holistic information or advocacy services for immigrants and refugees served.

Work in partnership with settlement workers or cultural brokers to provide supplemental $ l: f3 t; ]8 m& r

Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers.

Extensive knowledge of community resources, including in depth understanding of family $ b3 X" M( g5 `1 k! B9 i

Experience/facility with MS Office computer applications

Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle with appropriate
