community cultural brokers from New Canadian Health Network partner organizations to

The position builds working relationships with New Canadian Health Network partners’ staff,
7 _, w" X3 |( c1 onewcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social ( {+ D7 T1 `2 N
Worker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as
& l7 G! o# H1 zneeded. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for , y2 Q* y: ~2 T/ r" k; {0 G' b
newcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial 3 W1 v. [& c' @4 Y
assessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-+ c+ N7 D1 S* N. d R, y" v }. y

Providing holistic information or advocacy services for immigrants and refugees served.

Work in partnership with settlement workers or cultural brokers to provide supplemental

Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and - p! p6 X/ M, S$ r1 O

Extensive knowledge of community resources, including in depth understanding of family & [' B/ O) a; i" M4 y2 ?
support needs
9 V! i9 V2 F& B Experience/facility with MS Office computer applications
( P5 J6 W/ g1 q3 ]- | G( h, a Proficiency in both official languages is an asset, as is fluency in other languages
9 S6 b8 M: ]$ K1 k Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle with appropriate
