Job Description:

Recruit Participants

9 n! c7 O( S/ Y/ I0 o) n-        facilitate recruitment of participants for the Keshotu Leadership Academy
-        conduct interviews to ensure participants have necessary qualities

" a( J, }) ]' t5 y! Y0 nOrganize Leadership Training Sessions
-        locate an appropriate venue for weekly meetings
-        set up a plan for the span of the project (Jan 08 – Dec 08) for weekly meetings
-        use project proposal to ensure time is spent with all identified areas

Plan and Facilitate identified public events
-        with youth participants

- M6 v7 i) o  @: L/ sMedia coverage
# }" ?4 Y% V- _" S8 T1 f8 O-        work with media consultant to ensure good coverage of project

Networking
-        attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate
-        create and maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations

Professional Development
6 v, l1 f/ Q7 r3 Y% Z-        Be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position.

Proposal Creation
0 I( c+ f/ m3 Q* W! @4 k- C-        With program manager, create proposals to continue funding of this project.
. o* e4 Z4 T1 t. |# i-        Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators

Reports to Funders and Program Manager
8 z& H, k' U" p$ J, ]1 r; ~-        submit quarterly reports to program manager and timely reports according to requirements of each funder

Project Evaluation
-        work with external evaluation consultant to collect appropriate data for evaluation
-        include in all interim and final reports, outcome measures using indicators from logic model

Qualifications for this Position

+ m6 P& w* V/ O. R, ~$ `-        excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society
' V; w- F" Q6 u-        demonstrated leadership abilities with youth
-        experience with project coordination
' w: e' g# I, L3 G8 @9 h* l6 D-        degree or diploma in human services field
. i$ j  O- N% {1 f) P9 e! T-        developed knowledge and skills in one or more performing arts
