A scary moment for employees at the Maxxam Analytics Tuesday afternoon.

Around 2:25 p.m., Edmonton Fire Rescue received two 911 calls to 50th Street and 67th Avenue. One was reporting a fire, the other reporting that someone had been injured at the same location.8 R& \' Z* o0 T; B% x- s4 x! d/ O
7 p Y2 G$ z% m: H) dFire rescue's Tim Wilson tells iNews880 there was a flash fire in a lab where the chemical Toluene is housed.

"The fire took place in a room at this facility that did have some sort of flammable products stored in there," says Wilson, "and somehow, this ignited and caused a fire."6 u& k* P- ^0 p5 K$ a3 }

Wilson says fire rescue responded with trucks from three houses because of the flammable chemicals housed in the building.

& h, Q! T( [# ]2 O9 C"We had eight units on scene, with about 30 firefighters," he says. "The fire was out in just under 45 minutes, and was under control in 15."
