The Organization: SAGE is a multi-service agency that has provided services to older people in Edmonton and area since 1970. Its mission is to enhance the quality of life of older people.

This position is responsible for assessing client needs and short term one on one counseling to individuals addressing the social/emotional needs of older adults & their families. The position will focus on assisting seniors or their families, who make contact with SAGE, to articulate/prioritize their needs, deal with issues they are facing and to make informed referrals as necessary.6 `, Q# P( ]' m. As a professional social worker, the incumbent will adhere to the Social Work Code of Ethics as published in the A.C.S.W., and be a member in good standing of the AARSW. This position will work with the Housing Coordinator, Seniors Social Worker, Safe House Coordinators, the Full House Coordinator and volunteers on the reception/telephone lines.# z4 u n& w- ~! @. ^
. l' m" r ^; ?( x; J9 ^The Ideal Candidate: is a Registered Social Worker, College or University prepared, holds a valid First Aid certificate, is able to provide a Criminal Record Check that is free of criminal convictions, has (and be prepared to use) a vehicle/possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license, and is able to obtain $1 million auto liability insurance with a rider that permits transportation of clients.

8 ?8 ?% l6 ~8 { {He/she has experience in community-based case management/assessment, is able to demonstrate a good understanding of the needs of older people, is knowledgeable of community resources & services related to older people, is self-motivated/able to work as part of a team, has excellent communication & problem solving skills, has familiarity/experience with issues related to senior volunteers and is computer literate especially with MS Word & Excel.# }3 z8 `5 Z+ U6 T% r.
