Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 1 }% o0 R1 t" c9 W& H) q& F) y
execution of the YWCA Strategy

+ d$ A$ a, F& F8 D( Pthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
+ W. t. B$ A# }0 ?* U9 T# Kthe Board of Directors; 9 N+ l7 i/ b- O; c! |8 f- O
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
! e0 G+ y1 h0 n! I# _! Oincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
# S N% V% F& zenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 0 N+ k9 I0 I0 E8 R% T D' V
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
% g1 S. R# i& ^# W2 l6 Vobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by / o, D: o& B" B+ `6 y1 e/ ?

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; $ e. U1 O) [( t6 {* }
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion $ a$ b# Q, W- A/ B6 s4 _
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; & c8 z! `* p8 m" ?: A! E
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the / Q' X' I9 L: S1 ^* l% Z1 j1 a1 [
changing needs of the organization and community;
6 \& v% F6 v) X1 o* Z3 C/ _7 L( K) @6 F• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue & ?% c* C7 M+ q \4 F! i

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
+ M6 D, H* J) q3 \* c* U• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
( R( U0 s/ H& B$ H7 }' ~2 Uselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; \$ w5 ` e; @1 Q
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

. V# y* U0 Z5 @7 g$ \0 H. Deffectively and positively represent the association; ) V y3 ^( ]0 S, l9 R
# E" M/ q4 M8 N& @' o V• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring " p3 x' x% P/ M" c8 M: [# f
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
# F/ T4 l% K( K5 w& I0 j• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal $ n9 a4 C! t0 Z: Y" p8 E
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
$ `& L0 G( H0 G k, S9 d1 `the forthcoming year; 5 g: U3 w2 Z* |& U
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 2 N5 _ ~& @2 e5 e
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of . r9 N5 A! v/ Z u4 X
YWCA Canada; and
& g5 b- J5 @0 U5 [0 h• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification
; j2 Q J/ j+ R1 A• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 6 y% V' R! {$ w( B
. |+ ]* v" M) B0 h/ v1 NRequired Experience
/ b6 `5 Z9 } I0 T8 B! t z• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
2 m, c% V, P+ h& {; N' L, j• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation " p/ u6 m( B7 O! {, ]
abilities;
( ~+ i& k4 v4 F4 T( h• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
" @. a0 f: U8 u: g, bNetworking and Fundraising; * P) m+ e2 e, {7 J {0 g4 l
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
; h P! a: z# q, `7 iand financial statements; and
0 u1 D- ]. X6 X• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
