Responsibilities

) O: R! j) b6 M7 _, zReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and % M1 O- Q: C7 y4 ]% K
execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
( ^" |, F+ ~+ M6 R. zthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by / k7 r4 {5 p8 d$ J, \8 A8 \
the Board of Directors; b6 o( l+ H1 k5 Y" \" K! V
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
( z( p0 G! K; ^( l8 vincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to . [+ K* w! C# c- @* |/ A
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
7 E8 d2 I8 F4 ^8 v" V• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
! F5 Z+ }4 O& F: C" A5 Pobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

8 [7 |: l4 R) l3 ?( M) x. b• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
3 s2 j1 G' Q" s- n• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ! o$ c5 \0 A9 I8 i. m# C/ o
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
- l9 K0 u7 ?. r, y- W8 ~• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 1 G% T9 K% b Q) [4 C& s
commitments;
- W5 u# r( v% i& K1 ~• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; % d, c( W9 d, p: l6 B
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective & E/ e. L) b7 z5 i6 k
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
$ x5 ~/ i F0 k) d. X( P, `, k' j• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 2 t2 A- V6 v, x5 b
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to $ }4 M% w# _* t( t+ }
effectively and positively represent the association; . M, P9 ^# f2 |7 A8 ^0 S

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
: p. k, Z! v- c1 c& ~0 {the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
6 l" K$ T" [9 j5 B9 E# H• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
8 X7 @5 j- |: T q ?performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED # E8 e q2 o9 _
the forthcoming year; * M6 F$ Q" o+ ?& g+ J( U8 U& k! l( j
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
8 m/ d9 v3 |& \' Z5 E6 Zpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task / m5 q5 u7 F/ \% j( E

Required Professional Designation / Certification ' K4 B9 {& m* e3 i
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 2 O$ s" S# {0 P
/ L: ]( \& Q: SRequired Experience , n+ m% M( Y' m/ D* y, ~3 p; S
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
9 k' P0 n6 @- r2 f4 v• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, + M; N0 y6 o! {1 N* x8 i4 \0 z

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
