The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
/ _0 i* v; y8 L7 wexecution of the YWCA Strategy 7 M' e. w* w* a5 O9 c2 G* r2 p
( c% }& Q" a+ L% jSpecific responsibilities include: 5 m& |+ a3 J. r2 K; a' I, o

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 1 J$ K5 r7 }8 C% t+ Z
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
& H, |' O4 O, e6 {/ o e5 }, Zthe Board of Directors;
+ j6 Q6 A% i4 D• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 0 V P# N$ @ Q) J5 [" w* q' i
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
, v1 s+ w8 V- I# K+ Wenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
: d: _& g' ]7 T: ]) Z) W4 K• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
1 K- z" O2 J8 i* c7 s* ?objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by / f+ {0 n1 W% w! W8 }
the board;
3 ]& v% h$ p9 U3 t" T• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ) @' }7 \- b0 ^
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ) V: F: W6 t/ l$ K
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 3 q0 [) t6 C- g/ ?, j1 y8 D+ ~
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 2 U- D0 k+ ~1 ?# R4 w+ I' f
changing needs of the organization and community;
) U+ {9 Z B* b7 _• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 7 T2 E9 k ~4 R3 J& a

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; * f7 {# \( `5 U
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
/ h" a/ f5 s W8 V3 t7 b. Iselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; * h$ `# A9 D5 Y" E3 ~
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 6 W6 l5 e7 Q: r3 q, D( S9 ~
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
( f, H' }! [, l7 z% e6 ^the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 4 G2 v6 ]- [; V! S: G7 I
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
6 ~% z& S0 i& w" S) W% Operformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ) l, V- z: @6 D( F, r) P1 T
the forthcoming year; * B5 P5 u& v- t' x6 @" @
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 1 d: [4 [" h" D
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
8 a1 h7 O+ {- z2 A" ? e• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
. k: c/ e6 X: t5 k0 f• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
6 n% X$ ]( P- Q( S! aabilities; * d, f, z" i& [/ ?7 t9 A! r. h/ R
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
- Y: f' B7 Y6 x# r3 d; h& MNetworking and Fundraising;
0 H. v7 o. m. u: Q- [; T• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
. J: j, W* Q* z+ \and financial statements; and
1 u3 E y( |- r7 z• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
