Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

2 v0 C! z" F& Y0 ?, _/ I: Mthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 0 u6 Z( n9 k$ `8 ~; f
the Board of Directors; C) {8 x# g4 g5 P/ I& d5 ^
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
6 C9 h; i [0 L0 c1 {$ {including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ) g- _% u+ {1 I5 l: \! ]' w" t
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
$ K5 E. k2 \1 ]3 d, ~2 e' j• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
! x V& x) U0 g1 n: lobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
: `/ P5 i- J; G' h• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion & U; P4 S- E# W+ I
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
! R: ?9 _7 ^4 Y- N• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the / w7 v8 `/ `$ g ~+ I: }
changing needs of the organization and community; % H7 D$ S9 i, q. o7 }
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

4 ]" G# L: \6 `% ?. N: `• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
/ L0 n" R* T0 Q• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
8 S* |0 S6 {$ \selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
( D+ n6 t- _" l" D• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
/ ~% ~# G4 }0 A0 v0 q• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
- d& |( {2 V% @$ }8 h) Y9 Oeffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
5 v( M3 N' ]/ K5 [" |8 g) ?, \the implementation of systems to manage these risks; a! K) m$ L8 P" F5 ?
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
( C4 T9 \# a1 s3 k+ j8 D6 B( e* N: q* zperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
( T/ R% m+ d2 q5 T' B) Z2 gthe forthcoming year; : Y* o9 ^: `/ l* q+ b
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ! l6 P* r2 X5 j& I0 C, b* J
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Professional Designation / Certification
! G' Y) I! \* ^% g# e• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.
2 K0 V, e# |8 ^ a' X K* s - P/ s$ b% a/ o2 C( X
Required Experience 5 W) i5 c0 Y* ]3 j- e" M' e
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
4 \1 d2 d) i# r1 H• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
& v1 p0 M$ B! h/ E4 W2 }abilities; 4 j3 J, _* ]! K' ]$ ^
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, ^0 K5 C( W" n" p: K. d
Networking and Fundraising; 5 W, q% G* y2 z) \4 T
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
& q. m* T$ T3 r; _6 f& Gand financial statements; and & d, [; R1 H1 {/ ~
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
