Responsibilities

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ) Z _) k- z) L3 [$ i/ G
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
+ m4 u9 x! n/ M5 H8 V/ Ithe Board of Directors; , l' q" u' d- Z* I, T8 r: d
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations . F. {4 X2 s" E) w
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to " Y0 L Z1 ^3 i2 Q5 C: [1 o: b6 U
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; / f8 B( {$ f& E
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
- T* G/ f7 A. ~' ~( k! F: Hobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

; [$ u$ C8 z# I* U. E) h• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; - Y1 k7 Q( {& T* J
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
( D* F& h8 |5 h7 b5 H3 s1 kthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
/ n- r9 q# B# M$ B2 ~8 i' c/ t• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the & i' u; [( W. w
changing needs of the organization and community;
. z0 e/ ~ Y( K# ~ [* a• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 5 g3 D. @0 V* R, C5 n
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
1 c( U2 l' |0 h5 C4 zselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; , Q/ g( ]6 ?; o" } Q/ f) ] X2 ^6 [
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring - j6 w3 r3 g5 g0 R& D) |0 T" g- @
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
* F( h3 [! l8 p' b/ L) s F• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 1 M$ Y& [3 b& L& V7 V; r
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
I1 C# n# E8 b7 m! X1 }the forthcoming year;
9 n) n% x' U$ s( Q• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
& p6 z2 [0 o+ e( D5 L' w$ i1 Vpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
5 f+ Q8 j0 ~% f# NYWCA Canada; and
. ]0 G- h! z3 M• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task " I2 e7 j4 o& P# @5 Z
Forces.

Required Professional Designation / Certification
+ M B2 R0 U5 S' \1 p3 }# [* X• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. / v: z! A& c9 F2 v( n5 X1 W% W

Required Experience
/ r# T j: G# v8 u• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
0 Z5 s" v1 }' ~5 a4 y# E, Y• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 6 t. [7 d6 t" _; `5 P
abilities;
! }9 j3 |5 J1 a6 L3 F% m• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
- J9 W* ~/ k' D. f. C* ]" SNetworking and Fundraising; * C" @0 d. J: F& o/ G
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting $ a4 o' g5 P" m( _
