this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 0 }0 @! l& w2 ?: Z0 K1 \
execution of the YWCA Strategy

the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 9 u% H3 u4 L* z @8 k$ e
the Board of Directors; 5 U% A; T5 x+ y# A' S: o
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 8 ~5 j* u4 p* ~- P$ g
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
' a) Y' P7 `8 p. g3 h* L6 v5 denable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 4 C( b/ M4 K6 F3 R1 U9 z: G& j v! F9 V1 p
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and + R" S- x! o$ a4 n
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
# ^; G. r+ c I( x; X• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
/ \7 E1 q& F9 athe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
( i+ k5 ^/ v. ^• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ' A( t0 S4 G5 b: m4 }3 I/ H
changing needs of the organization and community; 5 W: S' [9 h3 v& V- G% q" n3 k
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue : m. D. z' U! _& i2 d0 R
commitments; V& w4 I2 j- e. {. F9 _5 G+ u$ R
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
" D _' o0 C, d' S( {• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective / E7 \( h' C) t7 N7 S
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
7 b1 o- L9 t, a6 K• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
9 J6 z2 u; y2 W$ O2 |: r• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
3 J* E+ S/ [. o# Deffectively and positively represent the association;

8 A5 \. A% C! p( `1 G5 |• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
# \$ h( ?, K4 d9 B, l4 t& zthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
8 L0 h: q1 S! S1 z• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 9 b2 K. Z# T# D% |, Y* S7 ?. x
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED , y6 G; H% ~: g5 ?, v
the forthcoming year; ! ]( Z9 ]7 ~* ~- g0 q( _5 B# A
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
% E0 X7 V& K$ Z9 ~practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of . c+ M$ K$ l* Y2 y( u" ^( `' y. d
YWCA Canada; and

Required Professional Designation / Certification
7 N$ i8 C( O! r1 q2 F• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
% l4 F, l/ y: Y# g• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
* n) \ l/ Y( S6 m& [• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
5 |% u6 j9 [1 c1 m9 [4 Q0 J8 k+ \abilities;
2 h: S0 L Q0 T/ j: J$ n+ g5 y. s• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, # A6 O u8 @* {: M% P8 D
Networking and Fundraising; # t: R; W; I7 f/ m1 m3 I! e
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
