) [0 p- C+ e* l$ E# D% V1 b# z8 X• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of " F6 q6 N$ x+ {% w2 s7 \
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ! r3 U; D; k$ B' A: n0 R& q7 R% n
the Board of Directors; 3 N; G/ u/ a# Z* w; } P" p- L$ n
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations + i" {) h$ c6 M' k3 a
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ) B, J- ]- p3 _& [
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 7 n% |! y3 w8 n4 v' X$ Y
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
$ X# R q% ?, ^# uobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 1 ?- I, _% \6 W2 N% x
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 7 z* e x4 g$ y
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the & j9 Y" E8 J8 N! U( }
changing needs of the organization and community;
9 T8 q6 H% n- {. T2 K+ r! p• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 7 i0 \& e+ H8 z( c- h
commitments;
l* ^( a2 S" z$ ~' [, K9 p' f• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
+ ]) ?2 _8 Y) }6 _; q7 m• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
: \4 m C1 Y4 H# d5 @: cselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ; \" q" P3 i+ L3 L
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
/ g+ S& o$ ^( |5 U# u• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 4 H. M( Y' \: s/ `* E- |% y
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
" x- `1 s8 n/ c6 k, a* v! Cthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; + G% \ d( k& B* S5 T
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ; Z8 ?' G& U8 R2 Q' }
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
* F: x2 ~4 @3 t" x$ c. f2 Hthe forthcoming year;
2 B k, ~% V# y+ C( D) N• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
% O# y% M8 R1 X( Gpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 2 u$ v, f' V3 h# A: h
YWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

( Y" b3 C/ b4 { r3 [" i• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 3 N; f: I) y! R3 d" H# K
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
% V. \# m1 t8 ]) Iabilities;
" n/ g8 f4 p/ \' u( L9 D( ]• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
; c+ i$ ~" e5 ]# g* J8 \8 y. MNetworking and Fundraising;
