Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 1 {8 I5 ^ A. n2 v Y

Specific responsibilities include:

3 X# ?, E9 F- E1 ]# E5 k• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
% @, F0 e7 Z0 h, o4 B' N6 y* Bthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by , K; k( r) |1 N C, _) k$ M
the Board of Directors; $ x2 ?1 q8 c/ H
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
7 N$ k M7 b/ Z/ W0 o$ k7 K- Lincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ! k# A7 w3 h9 K
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; & Q5 }$ ?- N# m3 y
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 0 O' P$ c- S" j7 t# g
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
# }3 K+ F- i& Pthe board; % L, Z. v* ]# T" q1 V+ |" O
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
4 |5 H6 I5 D* G2 s4 N2 c; f• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
0 ~- S7 ^0 Y0 O9 bthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
' o- m3 {8 \$ |• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ) p1 a1 |& X* Y$ e
changing needs of the organization and community;
" b Q" m7 b7 E2 [+ A4 S' H• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ; ~- u |* k' R$ I" a J8 i! H
commitments;

: c1 Y5 q# x; T5 U• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective

effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 5 I: d) _. H0 s
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; * A& l# F8 x) ~8 w$ `% H8 ^. k
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
' ~ Q, f$ ]$ d( y3 G% ]8 operformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical # Y0 }- d A# \& m
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of " X: N- o0 w5 c: E) @/ e& b
YWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. o+ N! u3 G& l8 q) J

Required Experience
% Y, [. _' S# T* ?• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 0 k5 R* o' J4 c4 Q
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
/ P( K7 p" j6 aabilities;
* R0 k: Z, E7 @3 c. J• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, * e1 S* q; D9 K- l3 D! d- j% ]
Networking and Fundraising; ! d* E$ j* m0 t, w8 f$ F) ?
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
- G2 y1 M# B. N$ P! Vand financial statements; and
