this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

" p- s% k# u( w5 p" q dSpecific responsibilities include:

* a5 m; z; n0 k+ d [• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
* V1 V, p: Z" Q# [ Othe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

/ U T3 y! K2 r% {1 _% t• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
1 p$ P' c: }" Eincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to I( j" E! j; Z4 |
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; , s& }& k* v- ^6 a
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
?- y" S9 O+ m4 n2 }- F1 d4 x, ^objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
5 i" |# F3 ~9 l2 i0 d, B* j" J6 mthe board; 7 a& d' x) J- d# L. a
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ) N% X& E1 \4 g- l
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 8 Z/ _8 }# \6 \6 c
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
# P% o6 Z$ p9 w( @3 m$ n& S% c• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 4 r7 L% h( }2 b" n4 p) R" s
changing needs of the organization and community; ; J; C' Y: f8 F: U
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
/ D( V* @6 }3 I6 q* I4 Wcommitments; & y% y! H" l. ]* A, {+ A
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
$ p9 c. Z9 c2 A• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
- @4 T7 h. d: k8 Y. [) J. N4 gselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
" E6 E; \, _: K# ^• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
$ y* i: j( B" O: L s! @; R# V• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 5 E/ x1 }8 p" _) ^- ^
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring , v9 x, ~9 ]# e: Q2 s2 g
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
2 d; @: Z5 N7 K• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
5 v( R( x' a, P- fperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 9 V# v5 L' ]! Z0 Q6 t
the forthcoming year; 7 H* u+ x/ q, {7 ]; Y, f6 `- w
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
9 e4 A ]; ~* d8 n2 V, kpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Professional Designation / Certification
' H2 r V/ b" s• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

# E* Q" m2 }2 ]: o• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
9 _; z! T. S0 W; {5 `• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
, P9 r) C3 O4 nabilities; 8 T6 z/ a" f& I$ m5 f% f$ [
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
9 Z% E9 Z# G* f- ]; \Networking and Fundraising; % W Q& n) q# {" a5 n
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
8 x& C2 ~% X$ Z1 C8 Oand financial statements; and 4 Z% }5 Q6 H2 i
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women : s" T% Y1 U. b$ z9 u) `' C
