this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

execution of the YWCA Strategy 0 R; \# l' g% z/ F* y

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ; ]. S( d$ b' _1 j
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by / M+ G6 [* }, y
the Board of Directors; 8 H- C: u* [) _( \2 r3 G9 G: q+ @
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 0 h; @- x; s! } u. _
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to & n* r; u, v0 K) ~
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 3 n9 H6 a. f2 z
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 0 n/ Y2 _$ j+ [- H3 K, D* r6 C
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by . s5 i) b# I" J9 e5 c, e

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 6 Q$ _0 U+ I9 ?/ s. W# F) P- A* e+ V
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
3 d- _( l& \4 r6 c% p2 Q5 B- k0 N; N6 G1 Athe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 9 t1 l5 e; c* P0 ^, J' n3 x
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
# U$ K& U# W1 Tchanging needs of the organization and community;

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; & y7 ], l* S& U
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
; ` U- w, L( Y0 V* y5 _selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; % H, |4 x+ h" u- b6 `
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
$ D4 L, ]3 b" n! U• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
/ M h# L: s7 O1 L( Ieffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
; L8 L" k0 z* E% v" T( w ?8 wthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 1 d1 x Z* p2 F, j; ]! ?3 e
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
$ q( {: n( g& I2 \performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
6 L, X" k% W5 R$ z: r; f( Qthe forthcoming year;
( r) B' @; p, V2 f. R• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
, Y ?8 o) V3 i- x% _practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
( ^8 d' h( z6 ?. @% h& w# kYWCA Canada; and % c+ ?! f( U: y) F8 p. n) @
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. ' K3 e2 M# W, q! P3 @

Required Experience
+ }( G9 c4 g; r& L6 B$ Y) S• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ) V+ J6 X7 O K7 P, N
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 2 X/ S% Q( A6 e% t0 e
abilities; 0 U8 `+ C3 n4 C# ]
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 8 K% [+ D3 q; @
Networking and Fundraising;
' t1 u6 R% B# M0 C! P& f9 V6 B• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting ) H& r2 C# E3 e5 k
and financial statements; and
9 }* t' c. k) q t: `- s& M+ }" N• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
