Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of % r/ \5 r/ p" d0 [
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by . h- V6 V) {! [( R* x' y. n
the Board of Directors;
( s( S/ q5 M) J( w$ D& m% J" d• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations % r7 ^+ {/ P! _% r! b2 g7 U
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
8 m1 v6 k9 M4 ~1 { _- V! Y9 f• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
# m* G V! m* m9 }the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
# y% h% J/ u$ Z• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ; ` o; n4 N% E& K8 W6 D
changing needs of the organization and community;
. Z5 a" X; U1 E+ k• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ; Z ?& ^& }5 ]6 F8 Z+ s2 ?- a

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 1 ~' v% m( A( l. ^0 J8 s
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 1 M! D5 c k2 L; }: o& W) h: t
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ) X9 e$ j/ b7 \7 E. T0 C/ \) h
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; I( h. N5 f/ l- }0 E
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

/ @ V5 E7 n+ s0 J5 D• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring

• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 6 ]6 E! c7 g; n# u
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
! b- E$ z$ R# w, l) hthe forthcoming year;
% t5 p% _* p7 k. \% ]• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
2 K- F; N& }& \/ W& Kpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of " v6 d/ J8 V1 }, V( L5 f0 ^

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. ! T7 O0 E) m: {/ n" H0 c

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
% l; i3 l) x! [+ @5 y" B r. o• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ! [4 ^8 Z9 W! O

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 1 V( T$ B2 o- H2 S6 L
Networking and Fundraising; 0 g- `3 ^8 T" q5 }4 i8 `0 a
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting * y M- T+ k) `! ^, X5 K/ Q1 w

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women 8 e0 A. F: V5 I8 S
centered perspective.
