Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
9 I3 [- O$ Z- Y+ p Tthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by - c2 b# t! x* U0 _1 x, v
the Board of Directors; & S3 `) }" \1 |5 @" _
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
2 [0 \6 e3 e! o dincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
, d0 `! b$ B3 Renable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
5 K2 _* z: b& Z) f C• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and + ^6 w; n; l' z B2 W; H2 s' ~8 i
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by " Z8 }( q$ F! g$ K% \5 B
the board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion * u7 y7 }3 `2 A" F: t
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
: [9 o3 R/ |/ D9 q• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

& ^9 k" ]) I. k) i4 I• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
, }( a; `7 _; K5 z5 L# t7 @• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 8 u8 {2 ] v& [7 ^0 V4 n* s
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to / e L% Z, G+ l) ^
effectively and positively represent the association; $ p) B: }: @! ^; D9 {, B' j

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 5 G9 A0 ~+ ~: A* }4 `
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; + [1 [5 M: K" \$ k& G
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal - w+ \) ]: Z' ^% S5 k1 l8 G9 W
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
1 x4 O! M# P" x* r/ L$ H0 d+ _the forthcoming year;
% k* S& U S: ^• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ) ^6 Y; j' O, s( B; k0 b
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of & O ?- C/ N& k' @/ L8 F$ L

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

. Z( v0 L/ k0 K( r* O• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
, x$ k Z; N& ?- [+ i& L1 W9 o6 W• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

! U5 R# z6 Q' Q• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
