Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 6 h* C, \7 [1 q
execution of the YWCA Strategy ( i+ J/ g8 R" n% k2 T
7 t ? q! P' h8 K8 E1 j$ {9 {, iSpecific responsibilities include:

9 r5 t4 q {) [* }• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of q) I: E& X, q
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
6 s p) H1 \: j+ Dthe Board of Directors;
4 A6 c# l6 ?/ j# @• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
$ R; A" g+ W- X( Jincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 9 F" D: P0 R. O( z `; V
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
+ N% S" r0 O# z/ M8 B• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 3 Z& r7 O) y* P+ b7 g" \/ ~2 U
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

' K0 n @9 e( \ L7 M4 V• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 2 K! j# e, n% g* P
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
) d9 Q5 l# @- K0 g0 X/ \7 n8 cthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
) v' p4 y' U/ l& L/ h1 A6 S5 T• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
) T# M0 K3 o. d& d9 t# y3 S" }changing needs of the organization and community;
" G9 z) q: S; F• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ; }) g/ U- Q- S# F* Q: i' q; E

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
; ^) W+ u6 B" F: s; y$ ~• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
: |% R" L. A' a6 u% _$ Qselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; & |2 g" k4 D1 s
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ; w7 e( F) w$ ~7 w
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
6 ?8 U; k; T* h b, K. heffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring : q4 P m1 Z: P1 B3 {" N1 E
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; - B0 c- C; i" b9 X6 ~6 Z; {
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
! d# U3 l# b( [7 L; rperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED & ]/ X0 Q8 Q4 [1 \/ U
the forthcoming year; 8 [7 @; C+ m/ D2 m* `' i1 ?
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
2 l3 {0 T) M8 m3 Q% r+ Ipractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

' w% s, M, g# B• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification : V* `! w7 Z5 K7 d/ r
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
! K- H( [0 u6 z1 w- J# }8 u# r• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 1 h( y3 `/ ^. z5 S
