The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
' z( h3 }9 f" B2 H* H0 U& w% kthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 2 E2 R( s/ B6 N3 D: c% L5 M9 A
the Board of Directors; - [% |& {8 v% W& z
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
0 U: _6 |4 m) q1 v+ Q- `including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
" O1 ?4 G3 b" K6 Fenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
2 ?" ]: V& Y; U, S• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and E+ @% |3 l0 x1 p% z B
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 1 h5 ~! \) c8 ]* G: u
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ) G+ Q! L- f" U# J
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
) Z) K8 I$ ?% K; h: J& o( y" Schanging needs of the organization and community; . } W& N6 x% a9 q- ?+ t% z
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 6 N, M4 @( [# s( W% j
commitments; # U, I# K" d0 ^5 i" t0 z! p
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
; L1 ]& _& s1 k8 x# m' {• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 6 I& C2 u7 ~2 s
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
" @% M' ]0 {$ n1 V• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
! j. T( X" \% S• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

the implementation of systems to manage these risks; # N# @! Z* u: U( U" V, n
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 1 ]% \1 N% I' x& l9 b- @
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED & T7 \( Z8 }/ K
the forthcoming year;
7 x7 r8 R8 a0 X' ?• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 0 R; ~7 s9 O3 g! }; @! R
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of & p4 k6 v9 a5 N/ A+ X3 Q! ^" `

Required Experience
7 F0 F3 e% b- h7 P# {1 y0 }5 c• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
3 Y- [ h& H+ k* @: D. I9 B q• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
8 A6 K$ H: \9 C5 labilities; ) @9 ]" J4 ? }8 j8 l
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 3 v/ z7 z. i" a$ J
Networking and Fundraising; : S' I6 Y) z0 T, ]' @0 L' r
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
9 D) f) A& O1 U4 Iand financial statements; and % T0 e1 b- J% s) ~
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
