this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

execution of the YWCA Strategy # C3 }5 X8 Q6 q' {

$ |+ l8 f# S d' R. S6 X, j# v" R• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
/ n) N! X( B) d3 b* L jthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by : L8 B/ ~( Z" F) k( I; [/ n E% K
the Board of Directors;
/ d4 C0 |. |% m* C• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations : s5 K5 v& `: Q) y
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to - \. q. q* H5 Z8 o
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 6 k- G6 a" W3 K" n. U* n1 S7 f3 w, o
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
6 ~9 d: X( I9 @, zobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 3 I8 q4 r8 M& W5 S6 D
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
! {: m0 b% \% d C' x2 \the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
7 v- F- b I7 |" S- }• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
( z% S4 q( C% ]1 e* \/ K# Rchanging needs of the organization and community;
0 X+ H1 ~. R$ R- k• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
: e; ]( \/ l2 [3 k" U+ q7 u* ucommitments;
3 R- o% [, N+ w3 g. K+ v" [: z# ?• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ( j5 f# \4 {+ t( C
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 7 } T, n) |# q2 C* i# N1 l3 L
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ' w- `4 e0 N5 c+ Y! j
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; - t: f8 K1 ~! g0 I* m2 r2 K3 {7 }
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

- D- S- i% w7 T$ @9 D' O3 X• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring + F, v T2 V0 n* o9 f
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
* h/ z: }' d6 y9 |2 \+ j4 Z• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
4 J2 m/ Y! L5 @8 H& `" Hperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
" f a$ F3 I. T$ M0 Z2 Hthe forthcoming year;
6 T3 ?& x) z- g# k5 R• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
$ _% m7 N3 J( z( t7 E" }( mpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
/ P& ?3 w m5 y) F, A% r" MYWCA Canada; and ! d: F! d0 L0 l" |! l- w ]8 e
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task
& B6 W$ Y1 n9 W$ D" C3 {- ^ kForces.

Required Professional Designation / Certification 0 E8 `# [& I/ U: i
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience 9 M& ]4 Q& B! H( U1 f
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 9 a0 u9 {/ K7 ]% Q3 Y
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation & n/ s d* d3 @9 ^- }
abilities;
/ D( {+ z# w* E4 V• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, % b4 P1 `% c" e
Networking and Fundraising; % y8 W4 ~' m3 F! R" u) B
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
8 Z4 S9 a u6 d& c+ d vand financial statements; and
