Specific responsibilities include: 4 x% T1 @ Y3 Z1 L8 X

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of % S- b2 k' _& u |1 I; ?
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
' ~/ n: |( S7 t' M6 @8 Ythe Board of Directors;
: e* T5 F+ Y" g9 Q• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations " n H+ k0 O+ c
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ( D# {& J) n( G6 X/ c
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
& Y8 s% M+ w: o8 L8 c0 v* _• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 4 c; J6 s6 K% j: c, b
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
' T( b ~( T6 {the board;
& J# ~, u: p, n• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; % h% e2 r& T! Q3 S
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion : ]2 v) P: ?" Z( ~
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
( J& M! v ~ W9 y% v' Y• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the . c0 x* {% s | Z5 Y a$ e1 ] n
changing needs of the organization and community;
! {$ S3 y1 D- u E# m1 W0 f3 M• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue $ c, d* a: M, z
commitments; ; d: x7 C+ X& N' d
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
8 q- {& |: H% R* o8 ^• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective / ^) I0 c# m8 D" g( |
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; $ t; j, w8 m4 h5 ~
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
, Z6 i2 F& v0 u0 A( D/ S! K• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 0 e7 R/ p }; M ]0 g: C
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 3 H' i" y* F! b$ k& r }4 H3 s
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
/ \$ ]: [' B' H) F! Q9 [! Z• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ) r' s2 C: U* W( G2 d
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
" R0 G+ A( V# K( O7 y- v* jthe forthcoming year; 0 Z& K5 A$ G1 d8 a" n
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
! R+ U" J+ k# w8 p* `practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
8 ?6 e# }% Z+ d% {/ lYWCA Canada; and $ X) g0 `! U0 K6 f8 y4 E
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task
2 U( e+ I% h" E- BForces.

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. : {2 N, @3 A' n' z0 A& [* K7 p

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
9 [, ~7 X3 q2 x! j! E8 x: v6 I7 `. P• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation : o* w& x! l; j5 f1 M6 }6 I, s
abilities; & b) t4 c5 [: u5 w/ p$ a: k
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, % G% G- O3 z; O1 |' \
Networking and Fundraising; & ^4 `( k% T$ Q) m) y% g; M, b
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
