Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
. U/ \% ~+ b" ?/ F2 K E& m# D( rthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 5 _6 r( e; z2 B
the Board of Directors; / T6 V b; h, j @1 [
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations - {. ~* _. {" k$ M
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 7 Z) J4 W: w: R) d; R) v) [ g
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
- ?! H/ u1 O+ r• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and * }# k% w/ A& _7 [/ o
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

" f* V3 a) c$ L% w• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 3 t0 F( ?, t% N( a! a! z/ P9 s8 q
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 6 K7 m7 s4 u' w9 ^4 a/ }
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ; q2 R. _2 T4 P2 S/ F+ Q* [
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
r9 P( b# V, y& L* }9 S/ Wchanging needs of the organization and community;
) _" P& U( D: q1 s• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue - G+ `7 u: Q, J( ^% g
commitments; " v! [6 o* L% m6 l
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
: m; m% }9 @& o, i& O• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 5 B6 m* l3 u2 q' E4 Y" L X1 h
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 3 C* D7 H2 @+ S; Z6 s3 I t: K
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; # @. a7 t1 W- k; t4 |
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
q$ M3 m# ?# w) Veffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring . x. _+ {& v% J
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 2 S r( Z. @" l- Q- r! \
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 4 S# B8 j+ M$ L
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
) e2 N3 ]& W( d. jthe forthcoming year; - v3 T- t. {6 ~% K6 x3 Y- f
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
( _. F5 t1 D) s1 d0 Fpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of * X: Q! I2 z+ B r1 B

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Experience
# W; E; U8 q' B/ b/ Q• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ' M! g; t: V. v5 r. S+ `2 k
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
9 p+ |8 W& ?; g+ z3 w0 u habilities;
8 [7 Y7 `2 X4 K" R- Q$ \• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
L0 L: f7 {9 j. I( ]Networking and Fundraising;
& D( d+ ~) [$ X; e+ `4 h• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting $ m" X+ z- A" d. j3 i2 A
and financial statements; and
