execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of * t" }% [' R1 D. v- S4 a+ F8 }0 h- e
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ; d4 ~" `1 u. t5 S
the Board of Directors;
- C% O! c4 i2 F; C0 g• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations * ?* z8 k# O9 }6 S4 W
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
1 v3 @4 F: |8 {; z* } e1 b5 `6 b0 m8 M; |objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
/ z% Z' d& _, x7 W7 q• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion / D+ x2 I; J! y( w
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ; m. B t1 E0 f6 w; Z1 A3 ]
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ( ]0 f7 G9 L. ]7 n+ r
changing needs of the organization and community; + H% g/ S: g' v/ u5 ?8 J7 d
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue / u# o+ i$ R7 Y$ Q3 k
commitments; . y/ M: C9 V6 P. ^1 Y' o* d g
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
& C/ f5 a. K1 n4 u• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective O$ E! [' u" j5 Z
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
( d8 C: S& b. I1 A2 i• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
* x3 \$ Y$ F! n2 Z4 D. \( {the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 6 C7 V5 ~ b H. L: ^, q8 H- k
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal / A% e; g# S" Y, L0 d
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
8 ~0 U' d: A* V& bthe forthcoming year; 8 l$ _: k6 O# q
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 4 t" i& r7 i) o/ a
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
% M% A& c! `: q, ] [0 z! k/ N' Q1 r6 wYWCA Canada; and
% V7 V2 c& |9 Y# j• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task 7 J2 M- K4 g7 c D

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 4 M# I/ U4 D e
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

1 t( _; p/ b( Y% [* k0 f; d5 @• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, i& ?' _6 a3 W8 X, j
Networking and Fundraising;
