Responsibilities

+ C% W5 c* _6 O; CReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
$ f* ^: Z" d4 v0 [, aexecution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include: : y/ ^0 _' B" ?2 B$ J$ |' e
% c1 a6 ?. B7 X% _* L `• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ' q2 @4 g( O) o( s0 g2 N W5 `1 b
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
7 L- U! Z" o" m7 P8 a7 `6 lthe Board of Directors; - K3 D) I" ~9 e6 n1 h4 i+ y: {$ g8 z+ ?
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
( o. T/ f4 i) Eincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
( D" H( b$ T0 }& @' ^. @& j6 ^+ z3 Eenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
, i0 {3 C, i. u( z• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
" s9 ?8 M1 g4 I& a. k7 C. ]objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 6 m' _; ?. d* C+ ]

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
! m% ]; B8 e; @# f& E2 j• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion $ M) y4 S- i* Y5 C+ u1 a/ `$ `; V
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
7 U, Z7 a, L! h9 s! \: }• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ; ?$ P' T3 o1 d
changing needs of the organization and community;
4 O1 Q6 D* n3 z( i• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
) c- g$ i2 E# h3 t' Lcommitments; ( r& x, r0 m% R( W; Z. }
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; $ {5 m! H- `+ @- i: Y( U) \4 O
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
& N }+ ~: A) r6 R; Yselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ; N, G9 f( @! }
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
3 V+ f' p. S5 ]3 @% g• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
+ ^- r1 N U$ a6 K, k3 d( }. zeffectively and positively represent the association;

8 n4 _) u; I& d! D: }• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ) S( z- F4 P w6 \8 v* n
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
4 S& R+ d7 `2 h. z6 v+ `3 W. {. ^( a• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
S: m$ t7 k; o# K z h' Dperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
2 d9 N! O, [% xthe forthcoming year;
2 ]3 j" b( |" M8 N; i! I• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
! K7 M( p, _9 x; O1 apractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of - B$ f' Z6 `: M, c* W% j

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task 5 A) Q& J' ^+ O( E

Required Professional Designation / Certification

Required Experience
8 `1 M( O) D/ a* E• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
' [. V2 x" N5 w2 E" n• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
4 }; } P0 C8 d" z( f- Q9 Sabilities;
$ _! i2 S, _1 ?5 x• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, y$ P; D! S* D6 l8 m6 M- F$ c. d- y
