Specific responsibilities include:

& b. @. k) n9 P! C, }7 J) m) m& P• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of : x5 G8 Y2 w8 L$ l9 k/ z
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
) ~0 N% q" m/ B6 ?8 @the Board of Directors;
& C, ?2 V3 Q" r& h- k• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
: i- T8 `1 z2 s& `! o3 hincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
: X. @+ r- E$ o4 Xenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
% L( s# J& i7 Y* o! f( g3 T• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
& b1 C' c% z5 {, p i% ]# Nobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by y# e# d6 Z8 o8 ?4 \

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 7 N; y) T, X; s# e, C5 Z
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion * i4 L f9 C8 S: R( l C" A
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 3 N1 j, ]' n M8 ]4 O1 a7 B* S0 h
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
4 m8 y" ~8 [' q" r" c. nchanging needs of the organization and community;
8 M* F5 t1 u' k7 C+ V$ e• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

: f' t" j/ {- f0 B! E• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
* X K, _! I/ L1 E/ P9 a• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective # ^0 g+ q- Y& k
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
0 L# I x0 w5 q2 G3 g, W' S8 ?) V• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 3 } f4 F w1 K# V( B7 p
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
# c/ Q9 q4 v/ @4 `( E* {% H' g+ keffectively and positively represent the association;

! `! v! o0 e% K) }• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 7 y# S$ d6 r, w5 \% K
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; ; H! M' {! w1 m8 ?) N0 b, I$ Q* \
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
# H1 v9 \8 E- y3 e, z* K3 d A" sperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 2 U* F. C& _; G
the forthcoming year;
: t& G, s5 c: x0 N• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ! J3 K( @+ D# w- O8 `: _
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Professional Designation / Certification

Required Experience
/ |& H3 v6 K: z" b* ?9 h; D• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ; l! }- K9 q0 P9 F
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, & O/ ]+ W; W7 H: j9 G& |
Networking and Fundraising; ! ^; Q# ^/ }- Y4 {. i
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 4 M2 R- v2 ^2 @+ p O' W$ A
