execution of the YWCA Strategy ' y+ v0 F2 V4 y# T- W8 n4 W2 B+ X
7 O5 g7 E8 ^3 K0 TSpecific responsibilities include:

Z; j+ g. O2 w9 v' `• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of # ^9 e* T: w; `! B, S1 z* M' h
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
/ c7 G& I+ Q8 } b( E) E, Tthe Board of Directors; ) v, j* r- W% z9 G6 {2 q) {
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations + J* I. y1 z* @7 t! G7 o3 F
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
. r2 K7 a+ ~! @. Nenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ( d7 m7 S$ w# D/ _6 G( i+ K$ z- \
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and * o( C7 P0 ?4 a j7 [$ U- D& Z. k
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 2 C9 D" m; @2 Q6 n' R! P u& o
the board; ( X" ?0 J% r8 f* ~0 G
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ) q s1 r V1 h3 }- y# j6 D) G% |
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ; a5 @3 G. T; t
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
( e; X! @1 J( [ h# q0 x2 j2 a& N• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the % R* g; h ]8 X( D8 s+ Z# i
changing needs of the organization and community; 2 r+ g: l2 u9 E( m
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 9 c6 K4 p6 M- J3 d% l4 G( B4 t. B* o1 H

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; $ @$ l3 H# h: a6 a3 `
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ; P1 S& B, [4 q/ ]! ]# h+ Y( \8 |
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
7 L; o" O4 A; G$ \" @$ W, u. k* Hthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
4 v$ ~' k+ O) a1 x+ \• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
7 l3 ?' q) [3 p/ v- x, n0 i% gperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED . E2 ~' x/ @2 n# N0 f* k
the forthcoming year; # C' Y: G; o' _( B
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
# u- B* ?, J; F: Q/ ^+ R# h9 Fpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
k/ |' D9 r+ q6 Q) qYWCA Canada; and
, R' V8 k0 c# s. }6 V• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

2 N8 ~1 |8 D y: L% \ G3 `• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; % Z2 O9 f( p3 h
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation " c& e& ~2 J% U. o! a3 h6 f
abilities; ) }$ | O. q( ? {; ~
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
, q6 I6 a" e. U2 H8 ?( UNetworking and Fundraising;
6 x4 P. p1 u* x1 b% `* h# x3 W• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
