Specific responsibilities include:

" C4 g% V- \5 m! o' Z• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 4 |8 t+ O6 {! J; E; c" {6 @
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by $ U7 U8 y1 v5 I/ \# Q" ]: r: [0 A
the Board of Directors;
T- n1 i( j: d8 ~. H• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
) [3 }" v- C7 v' ~including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to $ y" w9 y3 l0 C* |% q4 n1 f
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
+ L9 a, b8 I7 q7 i3 a• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
. d2 {' A: N7 lobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ; Y4 |! i8 _1 n' t& m" c
the board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 1 b. D! N4 {- n7 c: ^
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
+ J4 y' {- z8 L8 l. S5 n7 F• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 4 ]! ^& I. y( |. ~
changing needs of the organization and community;
$ D1 t1 i; {7 m6 K* Q9 j• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; : _6 I v* Y8 x( g$ U
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective

• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ; G6 l% K. N) x. u5 I) m- L, e
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
' o7 a5 i1 v/ m% d% u, y: Fthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; ) @- b5 b0 G C% C i4 S
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal # X; c! ^5 n' v9 h7 j
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 6 U( |, K1 w5 }1 l
the forthcoming year; ' p7 d% h7 A8 |+ q Y" ~
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical

Required Professional Designation / Certification
# j1 Q! ?8 u' z7 ^! M/ K$ a* B• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

& K$ h, Q8 k$ l7 H6 z: u• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; R" {* H" l; ^, A) `
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
- e1 [1 ]4 N4 G% ~1 {abilities; - ~* X* p( {9 [" z; B g, J5 o1 [
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
4 ?, v0 h6 T+ G- n4 l% C! a' ANetworking and Fundraising;
