execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
) d6 N# I0 ^& Othe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by _- d. x7 S6 W* b
the Board of Directors;
# {& P! v' _6 a' e: f. } k• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
0 ]8 |$ A# ?0 y' t6 Rincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 2 P5 J. f0 {+ k# Y$ p# B6 H5 P$ K
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;

objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by & V0 c" A' ~7 \: A. {7 E- e% s

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
3 _# s& ?! C; B+ `* L0 z6 O ~7 I! p• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion $ N$ ?) N- X- ^: L9 I
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
# Q, A! m& l. Q# H+ u8 j3 f• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 7 B- L, P! g9 g6 o' x
changing needs of the organization and community; - ~- K! f" ^" S* f' @; m7 u. B
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue / w& R p; p7 i; Z
commitments; ) j- L7 o. ~4 d* a. Z
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ' x, v* u. h) ]5 F
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
; c5 V) |/ L. G- l+ d# oselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ' E4 _! |" w) S! ]9 w
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 3 V7 p3 E) ?' d1 y( R$ c; p
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to , M9 W, c( a& d8 a% d
effectively and positively represent the association;

: Y Z$ A; _9 O B• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring j# K& K" o% K) h# r
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
C2 r, U) g# e$ x• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 3 D3 E# H: f3 T8 R9 ^* M
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 3 ^& V( \" |6 Y4 X! u% J( K
the forthcoming year; / \( r$ A4 L$ ~( w
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
/ R5 s" r5 e0 R4 P# r2 F Lpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
' P3 o6 A( w0 u, {7 qYWCA Canada; and
# y2 r% u0 I5 m• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Experience
: ^$ X7 c: e9 Q6 b' i) w6 U9 J( G• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 9 S j% O# S9 _4 ~: ]) J8 j# E5 m
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
+ I! W" P+ ^3 C ^abilities; 8 O, i, L# ?1 H' d; ?
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
' y* e: ?. G+ X- L# }- S- P2 {Networking and Fundraising;
, l" c/ R2 J, F# z0 Z• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 8 I; [* `( \$ s7 r7 S1 G
and financial statements; and
, b1 J$ n7 i+ X, K1 q• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
