this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and ! u$ a+ G# _3 c/ ^! }, [: Y
execution of the YWCA Strategy ) s& t4 ?% O5 X7 b, G; H3 I8 Y% |- }

Specific responsibilities include: 1 p* ~# Z3 B' B

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 4 s( c5 K5 Y; N; ~
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
1 X, Z' z K5 E5 J% A2 lthe Board of Directors;
2 g* W, i# R% {1 B$ y( x4 z• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
/ w/ X: n+ A: A8 _2 uincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 2 Q/ Y# Q' u0 h5 }
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
" J0 F% W$ Z& F) C2 _' K, ^• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
J3 |6 F3 y7 C- s; Kobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
, t5 p# R0 z+ r0 h• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 7 M' h! m1 s! R+ \. o, o& V
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; + a4 J2 p; a. v3 T% `2 b# W
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the , d# e# H# z+ O1 `
changing needs of the organization and community;
( q" N7 f q" o! {$ _3 m• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
' Q6 q" ]9 W3 {; ^+ R: X4 mcommitments;
( U+ w1 I# S J/ G: m3 T; }( `2 x• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ) z f+ a; c& a) ]6 e* z
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective R4 E0 l1 r2 s) B, R
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; . a1 ~% S. j. R! Q5 B8 h( m7 `+ L( {+ A
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

/ d( N9 R- ~- q& N2 G6 ?7 \• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring " y+ E5 u. B/ b% \' v5 N
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; : O5 }* j4 S+ J6 t/ V! v
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
' ~4 t; J: r6 F4 I0 y! w/ cperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
/ ^; L2 t6 [0 X! o6 o/ m6 U0 Mthe forthcoming year; s0 y: B6 V" {7 w# n
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical . _9 R7 i) X9 A7 N' A2 I+ o
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of $ Q% F" O. s: g# _' P# e) e U
YWCA Canada; and
7 F- M& R7 G, z6 h• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification
+ p- H9 X3 X g' A• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 6 G# Z, |8 ]0 ^
; a) L2 o- u* h- rRequired Experience
# m2 H6 ]+ k& s• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
1 W3 _& p1 w$ w# `8 j3 \: d• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
6 @% A9 o. g" Mabilities;
4 I3 b4 P( [8 I9 M• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, , A; z1 @0 O( F
Networking and Fundraising;
