Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 4 P5 l }# E/ P! p9 ?3 f2 [
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
- f3 [, y2 g- u6 F6 Zthe Board of Directors;
6 j' ]0 b; p7 y+ i• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 6 l/ Z3 x7 D* r2 e7 X- ~# x% o' e
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
& J L2 `( I* `9 G' @5 Senable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ! E' ~2 c% V3 ?' b& g0 q
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
2 ?" n5 p3 \) p6 Qobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 3 Z/ d* i% g1 l% e* ^( T
the board;
* N @' m" [& D' O5 D1 n• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; & h* u' p- a+ r; F
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
& X, m$ |7 X' l5 N& xthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; + a, r' C: A: ~1 x
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
4 F: ^$ E' I6 Y) W! ?changing needs of the organization and community;
- r# [3 W$ L% K% T1 s, i% k, s• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ( v. E! z8 b: \
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
7 Y' f% ~. @/ n0 D4 F! w1 V5 Bselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ( k; D8 G0 T. z3 N- E
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
5 M7 o8 C0 ]/ q& w' Gthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
' I' [5 f- P. }" X+ A• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
% t6 A$ V d! T Pperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED + S' d9 u( D6 a8 h( }* `* f$ w
the forthcoming year; ' ^1 w% T u5 L4 ]) C. f1 }) T
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
$ b Q- k3 I( t* Mpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
! |; `6 B+ t% O, C$ Q. XYWCA Canada; and
$ T& N; m3 ]1 t• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Networking and Fundraising;
