Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and ' I. k Y2 B6 |+ C, K7 I% p
execution of the YWCA Strategy ) Q4 ]+ i- S( ~; i( j$ p
T' q* M2 ~9 `. p( n* QSpecific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ; ^+ m) e: U7 m6 ^. Q; I( q: ?( R
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by & }; W. h$ q; n: M7 M e) c
the Board of Directors;
7 n. w0 K' Z- O, p; h6 |$ F• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
6 ?7 v1 ?( `2 h1 ~$ x1 W1 |; zincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ( ]6 Q; `' }, n8 |5 \) u( X
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; " _3 f2 o) o+ O% p7 E9 K8 e
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
% k: U* v0 Z' l- t% F' aobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by * t6 S0 ]. S% ^( p: C. a$ P' O
the board;
: y( I: D$ l- l3 J• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
- w; B' c; ?3 \8 z. Z, K( |• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion . b; o Y8 s' G1 O
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
& k. N. P: S& q' a+ S+ y4 K• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 2 S3 v3 I8 I9 G( B) c
changing needs of the organization and community; ' H7 x w8 M! x) f4 f3 a7 \; |4 y
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue : g2 l5 l8 u# P, v" K& w
commitments;
% q; @3 a! s& v. ^• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
x) I% c+ H8 v# K$ |9 p* v• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
$ d/ P% `: Q5 G3 ?selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; / D7 O, Z# u$ r3 P6 j2 Y" P
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 5 H+ @) K3 f/ T6 z! f0 w
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to # B! Z+ j4 Z" Y) J% m6 ?5 n: i- ?9 C
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ; H6 O" E0 w% U! q9 f
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; ! g1 B5 n q8 r1 _3 n3 E
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 6 R2 d; c( g+ \" L
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
. _# }* k @8 E/ r$ q6 w, w5 m: ethe forthcoming year;
% U' o4 ~' _' ~7 Z* w• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ( [2 X. O; w" Q; g1 ^
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 2 J# o4 U+ G$ @, l0 J
YWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; " m+ k3 w! _* ^7 a' Z/ v8 z+ V
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 6 x7 w7 T: e% x$ P
abilities; " L1 R3 s9 N- \9 c; }
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
& t& z; R( ~3 vNetworking and Fundraising;
' K, Y' h) T6 g) x, b• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
