0 X1 W7 ~# l3 o: d* `& fReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
0 K" M$ n& @* Z& |. \execution of the YWCA Strategy - F2 y0 o) {' I$ d( L% l) u
: Q/ k: _- ]+ M- USpecific responsibilities include: 3 s" Z' x' E: u: w. M6 N

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 2 U; s% a8 j* G$ s. l
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 3 `2 G, d' ]1 v) D- |5 W% L
the Board of Directors;
) Y. u# q/ W! X I- N9 u# V• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations / t* X0 j( s* q+ s. g8 Y$ G
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to s& t9 }% b( N# R
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
% R5 X2 q" p/ y6 W; a% ~• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
1 @/ _ J1 `1 C6 kobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
$ g' {8 Y- }& \0 gthe board;
2 G1 {% N% ^3 Z* S1 h• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; }) o& N4 F, o
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
+ d$ \1 O3 [3 g+ y. R4 hthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
l7 Z, b# S& b# T1 E1 @• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the * M( c9 m- ]8 j5 R& g$ t, ?' z% M
changing needs of the organization and community; & E- o4 A/ c5 E1 ]! `* c$ Z4 V
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
* ?- ~/ c( a" d! c. Z6 xcommitments; 6 F& i4 P2 r% ^
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
. b5 n4 W7 v8 y$ L# K: }" e• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 9 u# M2 q3 m" ]& Y
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; : z. ~) X+ T" X
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
7 S% \$ t) r8 d• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
N8 f) W; D Heffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring " x( Z/ Z; G* h) ]- ?" ~
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
. E7 W9 j3 }" p; X5 W+ C• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
/ F5 y+ E' S; r- ~: z8 rperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
* M- q% Y7 Y, l0 ithe forthcoming year;
# t6 [4 {$ Y V6 |0 p• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical : i( N! i, [) m$ A, {4 S
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
' g+ t5 B2 a0 R/ Y v4 {+ P& q# PYWCA Canada; and # h+ h8 n! q& {3 l
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

around decisions, plans and actions;

and achievable with realistic timeframes;

• Superior negotiation skills.

1 V: U; V' \' K" f$ j6 d, Z• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; l4 o8 @# {/ C- d
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 3 c2 A" X. a: L
abilities; % w+ k, W9 Z2 S0 n0 F5 N0 Y: k! d7 v
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
. f4 H& E; U$ }" |Networking and Fundraising;
% k, Y# f) {7 \5 \( n# a- _• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 9 V+ j* ?% O' V7 i) P0 L. x. U
and financial statements; and * k# d# k3 I& x
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
