( d7 `! x! [+ i" i# rReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and # L: D- x' y( [5 Y2 S0 q. x
execution of the YWCA Strategy 7 [) T( s3 G8 }+ v# R& F; p
- ^# ]& k/ @( F9 TSpecific responsibilities include:

; Y* a6 a& l9 g2 a• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ) f2 U5 Q; R7 G- M2 y
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
0 p! Y# J& S% g3 vthe Board of Directors; , O3 j) S$ {3 E/ a
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations . i7 f/ ~' X2 m+ U; J
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
' H- a s% s! j' c! wenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
1 ? a$ T' g$ f2 l( N• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 3 _3 n5 ?' Z& k( Q" i: H
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 4 b& O. f6 z; K9 l" s% I6 ?5 `
the board;
4 t3 J; {7 k" Z, j" D. f2 R4 r, U• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
3 \; G. s* p& B• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
* u, ]( ]. s: x% V2 N) }* s0 A7 v# _the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 8 g! [/ [1 G- i/ ^" u+ J
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
+ q G; X2 u/ @' N* N7 q( }changing needs of the organization and community;
2 E8 p4 l; M% }• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue . r ~7 l* R6 D: f5 ]
commitments;
! F8 ^# ~8 Q* z7 P r- P• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; # a- o% ?3 {4 O- G
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
( {8 R( X; t2 d( O' B3 L0 @selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 0 C9 D. M+ Q1 x) k9 {' Q
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

$ b9 @; e' H# I# q• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring * \5 D- h- U/ Q- k) V
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
3 [. b/ k* m, N! B: t• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal % P* b2 h! `9 g; B) |" ]) p
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

# _- H* R D' w2 }9 c9 ^• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
' P" d& a) p0 i7 o: v4 I Bpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of R; C6 Z3 s8 n. ]2 t$ m# g- l8 N7 p

Required Professional Designation / Certification , y. \9 F' X- P0 O* ?
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. - u7 t; P/ e+ ]- ]. }/ o$ W

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 1 D+ f0 G% H+ P2 J
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 6 c6 L5 ]8 l4 c2 U0 @: u
abilities;

Networking and Fundraising;
