Responsibilities

execution of the YWCA Strategy 9 J- ]0 p8 K3 D) M/ D

Specific responsibilities include:

4 R* Z4 |2 ?2 V4 I7 B$ ~• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of - h3 T$ G$ F8 j
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 1 l( Z" S1 O4 h
the Board of Directors; + T! R4 @: K' p7 z
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations $ F1 X' Q( k' B3 m7 g# A
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 6 ^- r" I! M7 P9 {$ _
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
8 @& C7 ?! v" v! ~4 A• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ' E8 x o1 o5 [
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 9 F) f0 X9 q( I' _2 T
the board;
+ J+ C* X- |9 Z% A7 i+ {$ u X8 m• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ( \" x: C' e$ s% i
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
" g. i0 Z% b5 l* o. X/ Mthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; $ v% E9 o3 x' K$ [, ^( G; y: O/ d" @
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ( b3 C p3 z2 }) U$ Z$ J9 V/ s
changing needs of the organization and community; . [& a) H: J u$ v
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
) `$ ?( Y; F* Q! n3 x k3 v! F8 o- Iselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 6 l/ U! P& T5 x6 R) l
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 9 }( A$ B; J* ` `+ W M
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to ( w t( ^3 o$ R7 g& U8 M4 g
effectively and positively represent the association;

9 T' Z# a# s$ N" T• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring

• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 8 j) ]( G$ H$ @# @
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
$ m4 ]: B8 g# E% othe forthcoming year;
+ O$ t C6 Y: S& z• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ) l6 i4 }- n: N3 z, H3 K( e8 {; Y
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of & k: [ b+ E' b
YWCA Canada; and

Required Experience
4 x A5 [, v& d& j• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 3 m% }6 |0 T0 K/ V) N
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation - @5 z' x" p. B& o1 w, o
abilities;
+ Z! ^- k4 @' F7 E6 c4 s; |• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
& W& u, j- t7 b8 n2 s* ?0 \Networking and Fundraising;
# z! U+ K+ i9 h" C1 I9 `• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
