Specific responsibilities include: ( T* a: L3 w0 Z4 h$ f: T

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
1 E( m2 n9 {5 s9 L, ^0 xthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 9 F% s( [, E% e; P% B! p
the Board of Directors; 8 B [$ K9 q; S7 n: i% ?
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 4 N# p* c' `4 \& I" K4 {
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
* P: ]8 R0 W7 {* Q, ^enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
/ L% ~* ]1 v! n3 u4 ~* T• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
9 |2 B0 K; \% [' d; H/ O+ l+ oobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ( `" H, a8 J* b# r2 J/ d0 A r; M

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ! `7 c2 n# c8 G5 M4 J9 F" V& x
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
2 z4 G6 Y2 j& D' Ithe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 3 V6 c/ D& r7 w% S
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
7 q3 K* l9 [4 O) w! r5 A' a, wchanging needs of the organization and community; ' ^$ L" [ Q. t) Q. E: b
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue / f$ q% w1 G9 i* K1 a
commitments;
- }6 O: O* \! o( U) Z• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
8 [- ]$ T+ p5 a& ^• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 0 U8 E0 Y$ S4 q4 n- i! o; Z
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
$ I4 v* I) J. t% y" ]/ Q• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
: n( X) F' `( \' q8 E, V• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

% Z$ r% N; I" ]9 L4 ?& ^; O7 B• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 8 L3 P7 P' T2 o% O5 @. I5 L1 U, O" j
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 4 a) }' @5 Q! N H H/ J
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal : P$ |0 A! ?$ X& V( e$ C D
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED - I0 f, {4 Y' i7 Q
the forthcoming year; $ j) {8 d2 r) s+ e" i
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical : N# ]# @3 g8 Z: H( P' H6 H- g
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

+ f& F5 m3 Y2 ?, n• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

" j" Y& f; O1 | Q0 J% E• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. " G: {9 V; e# I
+ a9 e! S& m( ?( ]5 ~Required Experience
3 n9 _( s9 `5 m% K" v• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
k ^ E+ \6 ~' B& p; S0 J• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation : j' i( _1 Q% [
abilities;
% W, J2 y& D7 J9 L T2 n5 y4 n# A• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, & ^8 M$ |' M3 o, x; C X
Networking and Fundraising;
