Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

7 M5 _$ G+ K; Y$ {5 O2 t• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
' J+ o/ ]- F( q2 Z3 Wthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

' u2 ], ?, o Y. R# O, t# y( P• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
; Q4 _" x3 v, d, t+ Y& Vincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
$ X5 u1 f, U! B, `# A) P6 Menable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; / e% X5 _" y5 i) p% w% o
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 2 Z4 l& Y' k! e! `0 t6 Q9 v
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
" R2 e& t6 {$ Wthe board; 7 a* f n$ C9 z! v5 O# E
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; * g7 I0 J, u$ o- |$ W0 Z$ C, R
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion & Q3 c( j5 Z9 g$ A
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue : } r/ J( ^5 Z! V
commitments;
- h/ s6 m! D2 v, d" E• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ; j) @7 R% y! m2 J$ o$ f6 G: n7 Q
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective , f" p. w* u4 j" S: C
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; " C/ z7 w) n- e. g" g! n7 f! v0 [
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; - `- ? [/ q7 Q
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to L1 ]% R* ~/ y4 @! `4 e
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ( L2 j% C$ l0 D3 ?: T" S4 Y( U
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
( [/ P4 Z( x/ j* e4 i: K! r• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal * H4 g, o9 X* P" L; Q
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ! V# j: R! J( c
the forthcoming year;
6 C0 J( L* g; p& K, h• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical $ q7 k0 s3 w; {! j1 y, ]* d
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of & l+ \3 w& Y2 R- x) n7 o
YWCA Canada; and
* v) x: r" t9 `4 S; d; L8 u8 r• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification
, N4 p& e% S7 d" h H2 W• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. : P" N6 E+ H4 Z( U, L( Z# }
. ]0 I) h [0 Q5 J& J0 d# VRequired Experience
% t8 H8 F. h9 {8 E" X0 e• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
/ @5 Y* _7 }7 y( n+ v3 o/ }8 \• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

7 o Q" S e: ~+ k3 T/ r1 s• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, + k- Q& W U) P3 p- f9 J- |, U
Networking and Fundraising;
