execution of the YWCA Strategy

5 i2 b8 g: J7 L3 R• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
$ M4 [+ e. f% H( z! [the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ' Y6 o4 K8 ]8 n# U
the Board of Directors;
0 l4 _6 s$ N4 S/ U* o• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations : S/ E6 h; m# |9 h
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to * b* v) y5 e3 f/ c/ Q
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 7 Q0 d, G# t) ~* H: T$ ?1 f$ s
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ! J' ?, K, Y) F9 [$ n3 _
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 6 [/ ?) @0 Q9 Z6 D$ |4 v" F0 Q5 _
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 1 ]& d: c# n; g& o
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
% u1 Y! T% b" k I• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
. d! a9 `5 A! C; K0 ^! p: ^, Achanging needs of the organization and community;
7 P( u1 f- O: }3 s• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue $ ]$ T$ {0 ]! y0 o

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 4 S/ R4 y. ?3 G
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 8 y1 B$ R0 m* i4 V7 N& ~! s$ X
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to & e+ \/ ], E' `5 U+ H: F: t
effectively and positively represent the association; ; X' X9 \8 r ~

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
) U% E0 j! K( y5 uthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; $ V3 a. g" x5 q9 k- p. J
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal / k G0 C! X: c5 A2 Q6 n
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED / l4 ]) b" H' {
the forthcoming year; ! r+ z4 U) I3 K" e0 q* v# E% c
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
4 J& m% O+ r2 V( q' A! D8 _practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
% g* b/ D/ _* m" vYWCA Canada; and

) ]% Z1 i! J, k; s• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 6 N0 A. A# {' g8 u, r

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
& D3 G r- ^( x3 l: H• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
, ]% m3 c& ?- D: ^) }; @+ Q: qabilities;
3 @% N8 u( s y; o4 U N• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, ! l% ?, \) ?- K7 L8 v
Networking and Fundraising;
