The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
5 t$ v$ }$ {2 A, Z" h3 r+ gthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
6 O2 {$ k/ S, M, `the Board of Directors; 9 ~7 p2 v5 f( y A8 v1 D
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
" J/ J& c1 M8 d0 w6 b. f2 z5 yincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to U, Q: X- ~: V; Z5 j' H
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; * ?) e7 N" a0 a2 M) v4 X1 ~% ]
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and , `/ E4 A6 E8 j4 P8 `
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

+ e: Y% j& ]8 M D; M/ N9 c$ t• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
4 Y& h8 V0 v0 d- T( L( f• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 1 h8 Q9 m8 q F- l1 U* e1 x
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
5 o5 I, j7 \: R5 G• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
% D+ s$ U4 x7 }* C9 w: }changing needs of the organization and community;
4 }" v$ y/ Y8 v* P! C+ P/ w$ a( R• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ( r# B0 v; F" k! a) _8 G A

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 1 _- B* l( o+ w m
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
0 Y0 b+ ]) A5 A2 w4 W" S) eselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
9 \3 x% @$ g* s- C, V( r6 L i• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
o+ R# m- u F• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 4 Z$ n' v8 }7 }8 o, Y2 ]$ i
effectively and positively represent the association; 6 v2 |$ t* x6 _

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
, |$ Z0 Y: c0 Q: u0 Xthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
1 Y9 o$ U+ O! H |: F- E• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
5 p6 f) C9 Z+ |, Y! E3 vperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ! ]( q# j" _1 d! r9 J# _ x
the forthcoming year;
% n6 z* ?9 U* U" b: x1 A• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 8 t5 `% z, [3 I
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of / y6 K9 k* r8 v) {7 Q1 D9 g

Required Professional Designation / Certification 5 C; q; K: q6 I
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

) G6 N5 X6 Y* D. h• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
0 A6 C! @& E: x l• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
9 \% i2 ~! M2 H& T7 k+ r2 qabilities; % \+ Q1 o6 [! Q- ]' e
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 9 N: G) c4 B* n$ ~) D
Networking and Fundraising; 0 }3 c8 p) a2 {# `& P
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 0 B/ B. D( e* \) Y
and financial statements; and
