• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
, [/ {) G+ R; n/ ~# K* K5 bthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by \+ j' g1 @( l: c8 K
the Board of Directors; 4 Z1 h! u% h9 t* N+ Y7 @" N
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations / w' V4 c8 M" v5 D: k9 M
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
% S6 l2 ] _7 d: ?4 h# c9 y6 [enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; z, Z. J8 Z- k/ `9 {/ |8 V
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
5 [* `; h6 y$ [0 B/ T$ i& Gobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by $ G/ M5 z+ x+ T1 c. W; L4 Z
the board;
$ U9 Q4 _' W5 R9 k( l' X$ ]% [ Q• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; + I9 D) R8 W( ]! ^1 V1 z
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 1 Y: M" k k" t& E/ N: N
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 0 q% O7 p1 ^6 X" E! {) ]
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
' D2 R4 Z6 v: w2 achanging needs of the organization and community;
! B3 Z7 P& d0 q* G7 v4 o6 E i• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 9 c" k. S# C6 C, j' T
commitments;
7 B% E. N6 z( c• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; / N, e0 o8 Z. v5 J T
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective + [, N; L6 j; g# {: g. L
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
5 U, t! X1 s% u• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
9 X; q' ]- s4 c8 `# Z) r• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to : f' N5 z8 v$ J/ g& I. i) I: ?8 d
effectively and positively represent the association; / O/ y, I9 V! E

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
/ X. |' S/ u" V6 y" @ R- y$ Dthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; & b) P( w a+ L. ]5 s$ U
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal + S! r* u/ w3 A+ [) r! l* @
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 7 P h' e5 E7 \% ^
the forthcoming year;
$ `" \, D7 v& C+ B) C W5 ~; S• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
7 K" `" Y& i& Spractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of / B9 J6 A; _6 e. h; l7 `
YWCA Canada; and
3 A3 j, P& z3 N, G4 v7 ~9 ^• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification
) _# ~# S7 n( Y* C7 `• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

* A! H4 O0 }6 v1 J5 }2 {4 K• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
# C& S% t, t' j" T6 m: I0 {* {+ @• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation & f% J1 p1 c7 t) Y6 m' ~

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
