Responsibilities

execution of the YWCA Strategy $ q0 x( A/ s. ]5 s& ^; I4 I. g: O/ s

Specific responsibilities include:
) x, i$ a2 N/ Y+ S2 X# Y5 | - J/ D# ^! e3 a- M' ]7 f$ ~
• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
1 ^% d4 z5 \! C1 G7 ^the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
" ^1 F9 }! D" ^+ o9 f- U8 uthe Board of Directors;
' B1 r/ n( M2 l6 l7 g- [% b, `• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 4 J7 e; S P! i# @4 q& ^
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 5 Y0 P6 g D8 t' ~1 n
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
) m4 z" f; W: }. k9 @+ C" Q( z, m C/ x• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 4 S/ ^* U+ S$ T9 `7 q w
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
; ^- `9 T+ |+ sthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
" @! Q4 E7 w% L3 A0 }5 \• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
. `( }1 D: L! f( }0 A" i6 |changing needs of the organization and community;
, ]( b7 Y/ A( _8 x; {3 v• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 5 ^0 A8 E( j w5 _4 i: V( W

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 2 R4 h5 r0 w9 s9 U5 d
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ; n0 [" a% W1 @2 e L
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
k6 S! U* m I! G: ]( }1 X% I. O. ?• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; % i5 o. }4 R& E# s a! V0 O
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring , t# N/ ?5 V5 y0 N
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; + b4 H% d) R# p( r3 H. }
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
, S# s. S5 S y- F( M" Pperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 9 _5 M5 j- y% D- H& S1 J+ p
the forthcoming year;
) P; t2 W5 D7 _% ~" I• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
8 G7 Z3 J! l. }. wpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task 7 ?" v, x& O' _% e6 W

2 U1 b7 b5 o8 \' Z7 M) K• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
- ^& N) J; |3 W; u• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation & s+ @( c; `% a, q6 b
abilities; 3 O! ^. s2 T e- S K) v
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 5 X) i$ U& E8 a a5 G( n7 n% \
Networking and Fundraising;
( m# B) [1 Y" \: L8 T: H$ M7 l• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
! o, z) Z9 v9 Band financial statements; and
