3 J' f4 ~" M1 K: T- HReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

( ^* k9 ~. t# W% r, N• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of $ _) Z0 [" q; J; \0 Q
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 8 s* N k. A$ n' f' O5 e. E
the Board of Directors; 7 }' O! N- s! l; X
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations : r& Y5 \9 n& P' F: ~' Y6 `
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to " ]1 `) U0 ^+ q) G! b7 ~
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
: q1 f; ?, Q. Q/ s• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
1 b8 i" T& w! R6 W3 ^! s5 |objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
c% g8 m; ~% Ithe board;
' f; w8 }5 G+ o! Z/ j$ [+ ~• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
7 C+ l* ~$ \2 s3 H; I3 l( {9 k• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 0 H0 Z: a, d$ J5 m# p$ D( {
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
+ C. q i' B5 }* u; Y• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 2 M4 w6 e n$ I. ?2 W
changing needs of the organization and community; 9 f" H( T+ {$ H
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue * m7 R# Q+ N$ c0 \
commitments; / j0 h# V! M0 R
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
& ?, x6 N0 D1 e% t, \) C; B! R• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 6 I/ C2 [( o$ U3 C) @
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
( O7 [- K2 u# k' y4 N- b$ j• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
. r& G* j9 D5 b: P, G• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
; l& Z7 k! c( i+ B8 cthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
8 m3 }' E6 `% B• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
5 N7 d$ x c s. E0 j/ Qperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
5 d: ~) k2 u; v. @9 I2 n/ fthe forthcoming year; ) V5 d4 w- } ?) t1 X
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
7 ?% \. I8 d8 F0 w( k) ^4 \: ?4 xpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
& H1 d1 P) e, ~( p% u, F7 NYWCA Canada; and 4 Q0 O5 _: f3 b# ^9 H. `
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; U. B0 S2 n( S1 H3 h n
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 0 w9 u/ J& U7 b/ m
abilities;
# X" m' u& h8 U• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, : r1 G% z2 _4 o8 t4 z& N3 l
Networking and Fundraising;
* p, k6 `" k: `) v) n1 {• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 0 u+ @9 H( Q) y
and financial statements; and ! B1 a' G- R& J2 n1 q4 g
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
