this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

Specific responsibilities include:

the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
7 N4 q+ W0 D8 K) b) }, Rthe Board of Directors; % {' L0 t- C/ s4 g5 d
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations $ C+ a5 _ C K
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to % A3 o8 j5 w! O
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;

objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; + _* Z3 k$ n: M! D
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion " u$ Z2 E t: g9 }4 U
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ! Q1 H' e2 J$ q+ R( L) `: \) K
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
* x" A* Q& A7 f3 E, ?( G5 f7 p" vchanging needs of the organization and community;
( V, |1 B3 w2 F7 O' y% y• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

7 j7 ?; `; M1 l) P3 N3 V7 b• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
, Z( W) ?' I8 P1 m5 p7 u• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
1 N7 w# {# A6 W$ ?1 k+ lselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 5 q: W! q) V- T0 J& M
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
$ {7 o) Q/ m, d" c; d5 Zthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; $ _( k" G: b2 {- e: r \
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
3 T0 p+ E! v, h+ @0 k6 r# b2 wperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED , C% P8 h. `9 K+ D; s
the forthcoming year; 2 ^$ I& ]) `8 ^& i$ m7 P
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
! f+ f b7 T! K# dpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
Z& p( C3 L- lYWCA Canada; and
) L! _' L# v* ?3 a* j* G• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task + x5 S9 ]: A& J' G
Forces.

Required Experience
' D+ H7 p: F( V7 M6 U• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; * ^) P0 j5 P9 Q0 b3 B' s& d/ m
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
1 {" D" k" F3 s8 D6 k* G# aabilities;
: @+ |# H' A4 S. P# e4 g% A. Y4 T/ Z• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, % ~: G. H6 Y: Y9 [+ a! ^

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 5 b. g% Z( m3 v, F7 K

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women ( Z) M% |" f4 j
