• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of / F+ \& ~& \; X( t$ ?& K, Z
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 2 d$ C$ B3 h: G/ [. G/ C
the Board of Directors; $ P( U3 q7 j: ^/ q0 @& E9 L
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
: n7 }: X) n( a/ oincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
. n! `. i( P! [# W0 P# ?1 Ienable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
* j, ~/ b( C* q3 o• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 8 }8 T! D' H* c0 l+ C
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 9 k' M) g! {! x8 ]

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
1 A) J9 o# s- \% o" f2 ]4 n: H• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion & F5 t1 v% C' ^9 R* c# E
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
6 Y8 F, h$ K! c: }/ @) n3 e, q• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 9 e1 [( ?0 a% S' i! G# N n
changing needs of the organization and community;
/ k. g4 }4 @( z% }• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ( q% X1 u2 c7 ^" t
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
# N1 B+ C7 B$ T, I7 u# S; `/ ?" p• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 1 D. s# H! X/ N' p& Q6 S- ?
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
+ d7 s2 F; F9 V8 i3 T* Keffectively and positively represent the association;

- n2 Z1 h& A, {3 Z* ~• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
( b/ g$ e& w' b E- I5 \the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
6 F* c* W B/ G7 b• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
5 G" {0 @$ j4 Nperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 6 c7 P- h) C0 Y) @
the forthcoming year;
5 L; V+ s0 ^: e; `) ]• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
8 u+ ~6 I4 z+ [, ^practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 7 p4 x" P- F5 x' K9 L2 g; C% f8 Q
YWCA Canada; and

• Ability to develop and understand organizational goals, objectives and operations;

Required Professional Designation / Certification ; o" Y L$ x/ y7 p5 E( }( V
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. # K, `8 A' |$ ~, {; m0 q. z }

3 P; L+ h4 T+ Q. {1 z& n2 B• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
+ @0 K* q$ a. W& W/ k• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation / _, `- Y, K, G8 d0 W
abilities; & ?# @0 \$ X6 S) n' s: A9 Q" S
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, ; {9 u; [; P0 I
Networking and Fundraising;
& [% O+ ~! U# B5 M$ y• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
