• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
! b& ]' ]% a y6 hthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by # G5 S# {. r" o, k! \! Z/ y0 s/ ~8 x
the Board of Directors; , b L& \- r7 ^# h% c! S
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ( N4 J4 w: H6 K" [- @" T
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 6 l) e/ q$ g6 j$ m% `) ?
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
9 \4 x7 g! k2 w: f( D. V$ ?• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 8 e$ J6 @ l8 i3 ]
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

$ }! \1 G5 H8 j2 S; o• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; $ I6 m d( Y. W
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 6 b# @7 {2 [- X. ?. f! ]3 q3 D; u
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
% D: ?) z' o% b3 {* ^• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 0 i3 ], E3 a$ v3 G: y2 V
changing needs of the organization and community; + n1 N$ ~& _2 T
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 0 N' z$ O0 e! c3 i e
commitments;
' N$ i: k& _2 V; ]! F& z. g• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 6 v3 c# P6 W z' y& ]
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective L' G' u4 [. G) L2 Q! j4 s5 B1 b B
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
! }% z7 a T) ?0 S• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
. H% Z% n3 [6 A8 ?1 ?+ X! u• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to , g2 e$ u) J/ z2 d1 m% o. q
effectively and positively represent the association;

' H3 m& n1 x2 U• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring & l$ b$ V( N! U4 |7 C: ~
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; , I9 s; s% } e( Q; h7 _- ]' E
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
; T/ w& f: Z! d8 W. j4 `performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 9 b* o1 e' w2 c, c7 j
the forthcoming year;
, G/ b4 S0 w( `• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical * }' G& ~$ X5 n5 {! P
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
4 r B2 G. u0 ?# G, m' Z |9 n0 `& k• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
: B4 T" t3 x7 Z. j6 N* O/ k' r6 a• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
# U9 X/ k4 C5 H! }9 wabilities; ) l; n/ p4 C( M: F5 R
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 5 s* ?$ w; \( V3 }& K3 V
Networking and Fundraising;
