Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
+ _4 b) e; x" b3 u9 M1 O3 e' Q7 sexecution of the YWCA Strategy ( [7 u1 v1 k% I

1 F& M6 o0 v3 U0 z3 I7 ^7 G6 ]• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of : u. n4 t& \0 n G. Y p6 z2 q- }* u
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

0 C! S& p# n6 h! v* \6 U# L0 ]including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to : f0 ]2 i7 Y7 D0 n) F
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; + ]7 k9 x" U) V* u$ v
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
, T) J Z% Q, |# \+ c6 W; b- eobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by . D5 l# s; X$ z

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 1 k, L$ i9 p8 f% F% i' f6 ^
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
6 h- n' W ]7 g2 S7 X. G. i2 {. X- gthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
- T* c/ f2 C4 x. f8 l• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the / V( Q7 U& ?7 I+ t* N$ a \
changing needs of the organization and community;
+ m4 P: [* s: w, K6 B; e, P• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
+ n- z1 O1 N' ?4 m; z: l6 m9 j+ Dcommitments;
) q, | v+ T7 u# @/ M3 H• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; " V& b" [0 B# p# ~# ^
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective , N( V) B3 z9 t& D) g
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
! j: Z" H: O' \& f1 X; { D• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; - Z* q4 F% p' Q
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 3 o$ U9 w0 j+ N/ Q
effectively and positively represent the association; / F9 v/ g* \1 V+ j& M

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
G1 o) @# @, O0 Pthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; - V; X" |8 x& O" h0 ^6 r
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
0 a. j% L- B/ x7 Kperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
( I! A) J% X' uthe forthcoming year; ; I* m3 Y9 E& D& R0 t4 f x: G2 W
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
/ t+ |- B. U' ~, q! Z) v" jpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 0 d/ p0 _7 D, G- E: h
YWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

; R# d" X- [9 A: ^2 \• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 1 L0 d- N* ]5 }5 y+ f( o2 g+ k
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
$ w& p( s6 a8 ]& Y% Z8 eabilities;
5 ]- z3 S' ]; v• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
- e, R" _: I' E9 u" zNetworking and Fundraising;
# j' y( v5 v1 K- o) Q• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
" V& G7 H& h% F. ^7 X2 hand financial statements; and
3 {1 B2 \" r$ [! y• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women $ h/ J6 H, X- Z1 M
centered perspective.
