execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

4 x; \2 }9 ^7 w2 G" K• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of - B& S' @- ^0 i. P: E
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 3 D& F7 ]4 P- U
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ; N8 m7 W, m% `2 l" c6 ^. x
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 2 l+ [- ^/ h M% @: f8 N3 g" L
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
3 c( K: Q' }% F lobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ! T% K' B+ V1 L' B# N4 q. T

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
: ]" S" e: v1 S9 T1 `$ q/ V• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
; ]3 K* A. I# w5 `2 F& ^; Bthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
/ f% u* M; K. `7 F0 x• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the & X0 }! r" | G O# w9 D
changing needs of the organization and community;
9 H1 _' F, U x0 k7 e# E• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
. c- O+ a; |% e5 a• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
1 s7 b- B+ W" X6 z" R2 W4 \) Oselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; * I" f! R' A! e/ C$ n/ R
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
8 s F$ M6 [) L6 e! m+ hthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 3 G; x# G$ Z1 G1 n0 @5 I- f
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
% L2 _& F% k2 w7 Tperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ; r& Q. }% w6 i* O. Q8 {
the forthcoming year; 5 p3 a5 Q7 b& C; g: c9 i, I* r) y4 U
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
- K, C2 v# Q; y( t) V; cpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
# ]2 @+ E, i/ d+ W% H) OYWCA Canada; and

Required Experience
5 I8 A$ P1 a- `• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
& h; F# X1 T0 i) m8 e/ P* p• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
/ u9 U6 J% x" _1 \abilities; , H& w7 b, J2 f$ T/ s
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, % w0 `0 N7 m9 I1 R% } N, W
Networking and Fundraising; , @* |0 a" o6 b R% B# F( e& }& p
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
8 D% S" I9 `7 z3 O& iand financial statements; and
