Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and & h" a6 e0 I3 z& m8 {4 K
execution of the YWCA Strategy % B+ h, d7 a1 D, |/ H

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of % U2 T& y6 b: U- R8 W+ k) v4 i
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 1 t2 F4 U" V+ l& l
the Board of Directors;
# k9 g2 \: p6 j- W2 _2 q+ N8 U6 n• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
9 i) L& C1 _. F$ @" Y( X8 {% tincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and / Y% M; y* E' l5 S, F
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by % `$ q/ f1 Q+ S9 p' D5 x* t2 X

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
! d: h* _1 n. I8 b/ H• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ! M# f2 T8 b; j: o! D0 [& J4 d& \. x
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
0 Y- ~4 I: k' z. A' V( f• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 8 I; J0 i6 l6 |6 q
changing needs of the organization and community;
1 \- J8 u) A M' G& }$ l• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ) f8 q" t& P+ Y9 w9 y
commitments;
' T4 ?- S' l, {• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 9 H3 U/ \6 x8 p9 R! ]1 D: S
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
& o) Y3 u: E0 nselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 9 j( _$ y+ @0 H6 V
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; * ]* z; X9 w4 b: @9 f- s5 e( ?! d
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
' \6 ^# k: u; Keffectively and positively represent the association; ; R) q# m; K2 z/ r7 e' n
3 S0 o' ]3 M* h# [7 g• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 6 Q5 O9 q$ k9 ?1 Q7 f8 V- ? ?2 K
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
4 E1 l8 H8 r: G, g: b& J( c• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ! E9 m" k; Z) X' Y$ Y) l* g9 i
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 5 P- x, P) S1 W9 N3 q
the forthcoming year;

Required Professional Designation / Certification

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; / s, u; a5 Q+ S% U; }0 [
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation # k2 P$ M! P( E- B) M1 l6 U7 U
abilities;
