Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
! W$ L1 L2 H( k7 M4 k" nexecution of the YWCA Strategy 8 P& S9 ^. u- X" @2 w

Specific responsibilities include: ) w8 _, T) t( _( V) m6 M9 i0 R

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
% Z9 L' W" C1 X) u6 ~! J' b& vthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by # F. M2 b! t' d8 k# |" y9 l. f& y- s
the Board of Directors;
5 X- k: @! {% a4 B• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations $ R j# ]$ P% ^4 c, E) _0 {/ v
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ?: r: Q) A( a0 Q/ O+ Q
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
' N/ Y+ P8 _$ ?2 h! C6 {• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ' f3 L [0 C( X( y( m
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ( L, h* p# ? P: g! D% p3 z: w
the board;
* [5 P' M s- B" L6 _% F• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
, g/ g* `7 d- H. j& b• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
* n% ]5 H0 d- D8 a8 B4 Xthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
g# k: z' ~7 F+ ]! G8 ?• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
) Q8 @, _' {* tchanging needs of the organization and community;
5 M3 V6 z) Q. T/ z0 n( ?• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

, H. f0 A" O7 d2 T! }• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
, w5 h! v. p. E3 a) P* K: z* {' A• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
" l2 J _; j3 ^# _& N; `% lselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
. ~/ f8 \1 F4 Q3 ~! {4 u5 h# Z• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 9 X+ D+ M1 I. r- V6 a" q
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; ; D9 n1 G. i7 F. n3 _
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
9 d, }& V- L- T( F. y. b' f6 gperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 4 b: e4 m3 d5 U/ X5 V
the forthcoming year;
" Q3 a9 \! o# H* [• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ) N2 C6 v4 o/ n& @) y" u8 H" N
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 5 \, \' H* k+ \9 ^0 u$ v: d
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation , g4 ?. l. Y/ n% l$ s4 G
abilities; $ T3 o+ B% o' b& S+ h, u9 [% t
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 1 f. T4 ?- T) m; D g) B
Networking and Fundraising;
, w/ E3 S: ~ k• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
; E: u( i- j/ J ~ s. Uand financial statements; and
