Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and & K& K" ^" p# g5 h" A. Y; `
execution of the YWCA Strategy

+ G o# {6 _( J. P( p+ H C8 P$ D- z• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ! k3 i8 x% {5 v7 |7 I4 j" D
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 1 _) g8 E7 c0 O' X, `4 c
the Board of Directors; 9 R3 \; d: V f C7 l5 G0 i8 H! u
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 8 \/ W- E* n) j3 }9 @' l, u
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
0 i D. W0 W! v) w& j9 L( m% aenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; g* s9 |& h/ L
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
" L% `/ m0 b' _! t, [objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
/ m; C3 H2 b5 Z1 _2 y5 C. xthe board; + H) L4 e# ?3 L6 A+ H5 d
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
) u( w- q: q) M" D3 N! f+ G5 p• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ' K3 Z! n# @( O( U* i/ v$ T; @- q
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
* Q3 N3 o$ I2 X7 T1 u3 Q• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective " T$ t, @* m0 ^1 a
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; & [ A) S# K: t
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
5 R7 h( k! {8 B, n" o) A! o• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
/ t. T' o1 ^* @( u9 N/ O# `2 Yeffectively and positively represent the association;

3 M/ F* L+ g5 S- x b• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring

• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
& m% I! Z9 X2 P6 |performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
3 U; u! V; N% b( `the forthcoming year;
" x. @- s6 D$ G5 b; |• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
3 U; x# U& T# p" a3 Ypractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

5 k6 b0 @! C! Y# ^. S• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification
: h/ H6 r, n; J k5 f# B, f• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. # I% q; }0 u' Z$ H& z6 |4 r4 g

Required Experience
5 K) j G' e1 r- P• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
5 g4 T* F* h4 {& H% y& Q• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation " q( ~+ d/ ?- v6 u1 m
abilities; 5 i) q* M0 ]5 L+ m5 r0 d( q3 L7 Y
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
! S7 H; M$ V" QNetworking and Fundraising; 3 K8 z/ g3 x. Q: A' q
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting ) D0 e A+ O" C# }
and financial statements; and 8 V7 ?7 k: ?: e/ t H
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women |! h$ ]' y) V7 ~! {. ^
