this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

! V+ Y# F) x: lReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
+ b+ ~4 A* ]2 i; a6 Jthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 1 W3 w! O* j7 b6 _
the Board of Directors; & g) [+ _+ M4 x/ C! T: i. {* ?
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
$ I. {; O; c o* O4 z( tincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 7 y0 F! Q. _7 d: B% {- V
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 0 P% }& }! ^" F# r+ D- E
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
. F0 {8 ?# r9 j% e) q! Mobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; & J! n- p4 }$ Y7 W
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
3 b+ a/ m I, a& u. Cthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
( F+ L# z' }. P6 E# r• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 5 q0 m+ d# B3 z$ b
changing needs of the organization and community; & y Y3 E8 I: {# b7 e, I
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
, K' G0 U: G9 f& }) N% d2 w; q* Qcommitments; , Y; @( y7 K k1 B8 {- V
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
8 _+ V# u% z# ?+ r" m5 u- t. i m• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
8 x* f& O; Z0 O0 b& gselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
1 s/ v! q8 ?& d; z+ ~! y• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ! M7 V& ]1 M# }: N' G
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to - P% {, G4 @: O
effectively and positively represent the association; 0 G r- O( L2 N) o: b/ r
6 n1 n! H# Z1 E& V) ^5 X' M• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
/ G; P2 t0 \: nthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
; _8 A( O# Y- C• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ' a7 c$ a* f" H# A+ v
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
3 }7 B& f5 o I; z: w2 ~, ^* f/ D/ Q' sthe forthcoming year;
& O( R1 x6 h) L• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
( t& D7 f7 p8 ~1 X" tpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ! u J% A' s4 B) }5 g
YWCA Canada; and 0 L9 s o* _& l$ ]
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task
* E. e; E; E1 I4 B& V, `7 @& M$ FForces. }4 Y& a$ ]. n+ P! g

Required Skills & Abilities

and achievable with realistic timeframes;

3 o1 R3 D( E! H• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. # g0 `% m* I) m9 u- v" D7 G

Required Experience
( D" j5 ?# o F9 ^# p8 M% t! K! g/ k• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
3 d! `0 t0 w0 V" Z/ O0 z• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
: X+ ^ Q( H# habilities; ) h/ p# c t% g0 w; ~( f4 n: e
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 7 f1 U2 x$ _( |5 n2 k( H
Networking and Fundraising; & h4 i" x" y ]6 U: O0 G% U
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting ! Z: U: _5 \( T
and financial statements; and
( c7 l0 o0 s7 X( i0 a• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
