The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 7 }: F5 i* M9 a* A2 p
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 3 @9 K: U& `$ ]5 d9 K
the Board of Directors; $ _+ \/ C; A4 ~ K( x( y
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 9 T' R# Y% [6 R0 K
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 8 v F( R+ z! h; m n$ w
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; , | |& a6 ?6 d5 k
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
' E& S7 ]" {) v4 i& Q _0 yobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ) A/ [8 W5 x; u k" P
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ) v4 g" a& l7 n! V0 [, m, u* }* T
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ) g# j% @9 n5 j j
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

commitments;

• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 2 V9 t) N! o; a
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
( P8 n, I$ ]( F8 p• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
- o8 L5 @! ^ e1 ~• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to % S) [5 n) }: T9 V% N4 X
effectively and positively represent the association;

% Y0 ^ a/ G! t! i) t2 m• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ' N( B/ U/ g) v" A5 c
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; ( t" i4 |4 }4 I6 X
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
; p: ~5 l0 \* C5 a Aperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 2 j2 S' r$ i3 i$ `3 P" T
the forthcoming year; 9 T6 b; K' z% o' f3 l
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
u2 u2 J& \; ^) o+ B! L. qpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of - @! k) c+ o* G" _( {9 v U' y- D

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task & z8 B8 V) {' s d

Required Professional Designation / Certification - w* X" @# b) S
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ) O$ O/ \# k5 t
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation , H. l! V. A+ B$ b

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, , {9 A% ]6 |* A5 y; \
Networking and Fundraising; O5 r' D; K3 k
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
