execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of & T; R8 [$ I2 h X* ?# A, h" n
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 6 t3 ?4 c3 k2 I+ ^

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
( R9 \3 U5 V7 A6 E' f: oincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to . B! a+ [7 `: o$ G5 V* J
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; & o$ ^5 S0 }& ]0 X
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
3 G- X+ l2 n2 J% Cobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
5 L: [( C; {& o P7 xthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ( s3 ~4 E+ @+ l7 a! p4 ?" l9 q
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue % d* N) i. k2 Q
commitments;
: R2 M/ _0 {% c' m• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 0 M/ Y5 S* w, G8 G3 c' N
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
% {( g! s+ B1 D, ~; t4 Wselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 1 p. [9 \$ o, L2 l. ~
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
/ C& \, u% q% U5 V* _, | I b• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
+ P% K' X+ w. k: _: Ceffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
; p; t5 y& j) K! n2 O. N+ f3 e9 Hthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 9 R7 G/ L! d/ R* \9 z9 X0 n
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
( U8 P1 v" e+ V. U; g' s! q/ z% e( [performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
# l8 y- g6 e6 U4 zthe forthcoming year; - m% r8 a0 ^% I' V# c
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical - f$ H3 M1 i) y4 r3 g, r
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 3 u! `' E5 i) T9 ?! t8 A
YWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
. `/ c% b+ c# \5 ~• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ( c- a. |. {' a' |: b
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ! Q8 i7 j0 C: d' t" w
abilities; 3 |5 x! P7 Q' @, p1 y
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 3 L7 K, I& X8 T1 v
Networking and Fundraising;
1 B7 x& v t' g( O• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting + J' i) Z# q7 i$ E( i
and financial statements; and ) u: x9 t' z% z, n
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women + |; E$ O% V& N5 {( K
