• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
! j7 t! M- @. Q9 v: @9 u. d$ Rthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by & U' d2 Q$ s5 a, ?0 U
the Board of Directors; ) \. I+ f. Z: e" P3 T1 l
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 9 Q9 n" ?# J" K) G+ @4 [
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 9 a1 ^) J$ |# ?, z
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
" l0 O, e9 h4 I& ?: I• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ! k0 S/ H4 x. R( g" k& o0 m
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 4 m9 A, @4 k& F$ u' O/ O8 V6 {! [5 \7 I9 M
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
7 r; Z7 A8 c; U: L3 z/ P B# j* Ethe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
9 W" I' w" H, E- [• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ) C: z) t% ~3 h5 H8 [6 V
changing needs of the organization and community;
4 Q7 `! f( L! C, q+ j• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 0 ]7 C+ @ j5 ], e! L* J
commitments;
% a- O* z0 Y; h8 _0 u• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ; q8 y( s# m; c: \- i/ D* T+ @
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
q) r p. `- L" N1 ?* N5 Sselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ) E) j- @8 j0 f0 V6 C/ t! V: ?! M
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

3 g( y* {. X5 c5 J' }9 t" w3 I ]• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
0 f; J0 N7 x1 R! ^the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
L* X! m4 v1 N6 r+ n• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
_. ^! }1 H6 T4 `performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED - s( l. T8 i! N; k* ?% r" J
the forthcoming year; : H6 N- H. D* ]9 ]' F. X
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 6 q( n: _, o0 }: B0 W0 W# J
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task 8 v' p% v/ D& X! F

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

4 S1 j, [6 A5 M9 x3 ^) n. g• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ! y7 g: ^" r6 s& o) T
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
& r. g" p0 ]1 m9 p* p3 o! r, c) }abilities; 9 C8 f. Q, y) Q/ Q
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
3 p. r! h) B, J2 E) ]5 V1 BNetworking and Fundraising; . {- q4 Z/ n. n$ J/ a/ L+ G
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting ! u' H8 w. J" K" `; J
and financial statements; and
9 ~* n3 T3 f9 i8 W) h! \) ^• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women 5 w! @- t: L" ]# v2 y6 C1 O
centered perspective.
