Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

) D1 p Y; I v" Q% b3 Z• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 2 n) {1 l" I9 c" ?' z3 ~1 U
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
% E0 [" S# h2 K jincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to . P$ Y7 Y: K) y* O) [
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
, c! F+ g$ ?8 Q• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and # D H' o, I$ U$ [
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
& l ?5 h- t5 v- `; ^% g8 _• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
- J' p5 ~' L: Athe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
* u! r1 T& {4 b' P• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 9 P$ |3 y j( z
changing needs of the organization and community; 5 z6 G1 ?3 b% z
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ; D1 a5 h" G5 j4 w( e' e; \- p
commitments; & G9 K/ O, t- g
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
# E6 E9 [; F' P. R& ~• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 2 x) O- l6 T# T) e/ L
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 2 m, ?) U2 w$ W: r1 [
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; * \' o8 B1 u9 ^* A: F9 P6 M, Q8 U: _
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to $ I) t) ^ s; k2 H/ m
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
: |; [8 |" U/ V# e" Athe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 7 S. l s" o Q" F
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
0 W% _9 _- G# m. @performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
: M5 b8 @+ c0 A9 H1 V, o0 Jthe forthcoming year;
+ _+ |8 q$ O" |/ }% N* {• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical

YWCA Canada; and

Required Professional Designation / Certification
/ X" [2 P! e' G• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 1 S( G8 C/ {4 A( s

Required Experience
- E2 ?( |7 l; Z• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; * c$ S8 ]- g8 A
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
: i2 ^+ g8 q1 ?9 labilities;
* X, \& Q2 |1 [) P5 X# G: i• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, \8 W' z) u* Y( w
Networking and Fundraising; $ U" k$ v/ O. |" K# Y! J( b
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting , b/ T h( t9 w2 J
and financial statements; and 7 W) Y v& L. {" ?6 s; m6 f
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women ! Z5 N1 @# c2 ?- \, o# P9 J) \
centered perspective.
