Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and + d& [" A) ^/ v w: d2 R0 x$ ]
execution of the YWCA Strategy ( E* E) d1 O. ~2 O7 o9 s* k

Specific responsibilities include: 9 o7 h1 r- N2 M5 K6 s

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 0 z+ S) ^- l7 |; M+ ?
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ( S( ]* S. ?1 o" j4 W- o- s9 X
the Board of Directors; ) S5 j( o Y; p# b
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 3 T( t5 t$ l, F$ q5 l& f7 |# T2 j
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and + G+ _- \. Z0 L; V
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 7 q! D+ K; _. H6 l% w% \4 a( T- u

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; . A$ d7 y* U& W6 V4 `9 H+ A
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ) k) p/ Z; p3 I
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
0 J# n* J& }9 _( ~) @• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
. _( B8 A. G& Hchanging needs of the organization and community;
$ Z. V6 b8 h% E3 o# t• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

/ P D- R/ u2 B4 s• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;

• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
/ v: ?( q1 z) G# ^the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
5 M5 [. S( \1 V8 N$ M• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal % h( H0 K1 y: t, ?3 ]
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
6 ?6 g2 l; r0 o! d0 k$ ]0 N( T6 zthe forthcoming year;
7 G1 W, T9 r% V M6 ]) C" B• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
6 w J& C9 J" Npractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 3 j- H4 B' a @3 X
YWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 6 ~ M* {" O* C% }

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
M- e. B) X6 D0 c7 v. N, ^9 }Networking and Fundraising;
! R/ I) U9 P8 |& u5 }: |• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting / m3 S; }& g2 c

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
