The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic " y7 [- |3 S* B
thinking and be both enthusiastic and an outstanding communicator / relationship builder to lead

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and # U* P, X& T4 s7 @' P* e7 h
execution of the YWCA Strategy

8 f0 X- c( n2 i4 [# U- W5 g7 q& r- g4 v• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of / L( z( a2 H$ W) F3 e( ^ U
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
9 r# _' Z* I# m" b" q% g% W+ `3 sthe Board of Directors;
: a# ^; _. k& M5 G4 I- ?- k# B• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ( t' z5 f& A( ~( C( ~
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
& Q+ a# `! I6 L1 V0 [) menable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
. ~8 B) ?, i+ n) A+ F. ?• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and " j/ [. u2 @) ^4 f0 a" A% y
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by " h4 t" s# ]3 c0 ~9 ]3 K1 v
the board;
2 E w% U6 F# T. T• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
. O) s2 a9 O5 N/ W" K. }• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ! J( \9 H9 S! X4 ~
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
0 K5 r& j9 l, X• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the * a2 X3 p4 B* h' X; I6 Z
changing needs of the organization and community; [7 j( g! L* _8 K
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
" d9 L+ d6 A& K! ecommitments; 3 }& J) d! V' w# Z. U: ]
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ) i ]4 R; R) ^9 \
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
* Z2 Q8 L) i7 h5 y/ v) B7 `# Tselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
' {2 C9 J/ }. ]+ p" P/ O! s• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ' u8 a/ a2 G. z% Q
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to ) A" N2 K4 D3 k) T4 Q# c) Q% z% ?
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 1 j- D6 X0 v! j
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
5 t5 m/ }3 {% l5 n0 e$ G• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
% a, [& Q' R7 ]- U: ^5 N9 _performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 6 W! B1 |7 \9 j0 B
the forthcoming year;
& K! i3 p, {. w4 O& M' D. H• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
9 j2 ^4 e3 B8 Y, G8 _. Y0 {7 Epractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 4 A9 V: t* K3 Z' a

% G; P3 b4 r9 X4 v• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
& g$ B5 f; A/ q& f X; }6 [• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; c/ @3 [/ E5 _ ]' B
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
/ {8 Y; T3 q O% Aabilities; 5 K3 w" `* X7 C7 L' a( y4 K
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
6 m. q6 f% R, U- r+ TNetworking and Fundraising;
6 _( ?# M2 d& A/ N- ^/ ?• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 8 z* Q1 @+ r% ~' W9 {* b2 f4 V

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
