The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
3 Y0 d3 Q* z5 gexecution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of " z$ H- _, H' d& ^; ]3 Y* h
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 3 m" d7 ^# F- y8 b/ N/ \. t6 I
the Board of Directors;
+ f) D& |/ J) e r+ A• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations $ {$ M0 ^' Y/ b7 D: _
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
" p7 s2 S4 P8 m* R' ^6 E/ Y7 h! xenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
; i3 O7 d4 t" a# g& ]' s+ V• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ( T7 j/ _0 ?3 d
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
& |+ f. h9 t0 N1 ?$ F% s+ Pthe board;
2 t7 |; J# L4 E) n! r1 v' h& c• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 8 i# \7 j% R/ b2 \4 @9 U
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
+ Y( S) _! x( x" a$ U$ W8 [2 @3 wthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; % i6 [# ]3 g" M8 p8 R( I. R' H
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
* T9 {1 D! A% F6 o8 echanging needs of the organization and community;
( O) S: o( {' ~7 L U• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
+ I1 e1 t" v4 f' N' f3 G0 gcommitments; 6 l2 W0 N' {4 g9 K" a
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
2 j9 ~2 p# z; T' h% W& [• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ; L* h4 d/ i8 l% _0 h
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
) T8 Q5 n3 ?6 x: q# K0 `9 X$ H( a• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 0 Q5 y) \! ]) i8 l" k
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
/ J( y5 d( d1 x) K. K, yeffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
7 F3 x+ p' U* ~8 ]4 L9 F8 @the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
0 V3 z% g- d6 F s9 I! b9 g: j• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal : v1 \, E3 P G( v" x1 B
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED $ i2 \. d5 u8 Q) E: h' q( ^% z
the forthcoming year;

practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task 1 H. u: \% V; Y4 j9 \
Forces.

Required Experience
- G! A: y3 f, u9 d/ D7 ~• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
! C7 \: Q, B; o+ Q/ D1 ^2 ]• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
% C# K1 h/ T0 j, g& M/ D+ _) A: kabilities; 9 |% {! L( @9 u. @' O
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, # I1 r5 g3 t$ S; a% m) Y
Networking and Fundraising;
/ o7 k, K) j4 e, {0 B• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
$ F" W' Z+ I9 H6 s3 L3 N2 Zand financial statements; and
