Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
! \0 m: w) a6 ^- i# Zexecution of the YWCA Strategy ( r( a5 G0 O* R P
( w; n" Z% Z, i4 ]+ a1 _
Specific responsibilities include: ; k$ [9 u, G. \* `
* h* n. ~, h9 c8 s! w2 ~• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of $ A* b. P* ~0 [; K5 B* f+ G
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by $ Q+ ^$ l! v: U" ]& j
the Board of Directors; - \2 P4 k2 n; Q
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 3 ]* ?/ S0 d* R9 T( w$ J6 m
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
: x# [6 g) y! {9 E9 Fenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
7 z- j4 j& {. e- o0 }$ V* u) z• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
' {6 x% k; R" x+ v7 yobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 1 I7 C5 V8 @: v, X- m2 A9 y
the board;
& X9 c1 v7 s3 O• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
0 G0 J' _( y1 S" L1 n! `4 \- F• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
& j. O' g. q/ {$ O5 t% s8 Z; cthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
# C! x- |7 ^/ X' q. h4 {) E• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
3 s# c5 K4 A+ _6 I `% v9 gchanging needs of the organization and community;
g0 G2 k0 _9 t2 e! U+ }• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue % i/ ~1 I3 s6 I0 c: ^) h/ p
commitments;
) O9 j' J1 Q: m% Z ^. B. ]/ ?7 U• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
. W3 K# w D6 f; H8 c/ t2 {- r" Q• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
% W8 r7 z8 ?. B; ]* L$ F# i( c5 s* Nselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 0 g) |, M% M7 M! z
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

effectively and positively represent the association;

0 h. E \! Z( n3 q: W8 q• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ( T7 N/ f' n8 I2 v
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 7 p# v5 d" z) V, J2 O; f
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal $ W$ v- z1 ~9 n
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED : _3 m+ V0 c$ P4 _' X+ r+ ]" h
the forthcoming year;
5 a' B# S( w0 [2 K. P• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ! ?! c# c+ L* A% ^! z1 {
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of # W2 p* B6 o# U% F4 b

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

B k; l6 ?! T9 C, `• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
+ |( G, d- j/ a7 c- c• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
$ d4 W7 M% ]# J& s$ K" k• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
6 s; W ]' ]2 _0 v' d5 G: rabilities; 8 P. t" d1 W! m* R8 p
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
- T& Y1 o9 {. P2 d2 E/ TNetworking and Fundraising;
8 y9 Y1 t1 t, J( X1 e: A6 ^) w* |• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting ) K8 X- L% ~- ^: k* f6 p

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women 9 ^. R9 M: {8 [' u5 \$ @5 g |( ^
