Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ! M* q( u2 e0 ]! t6 c
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ! |# J A( }- W& l
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ) W) Z: [* }' y; D
the board; 4 L7 q9 B- G) a/ v! v/ B/ Y$ N5 O
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ) i4 I+ s2 V6 }! A/ l! a
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion % c0 ]' o3 e" R6 t9 k9 {
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
" @$ l/ X, q `- n, D• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the " E$ n- k: `. B5 f: } {* V7 j
changing needs of the organization and community; $ o b' {' B; a* J0 n* K$ A% s
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue + M9 f/ K* m5 \8 ]1 \" ~6 I
commitments; S( J3 c3 ^# _, p
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ' P/ ^$ ~5 V; t
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 8 t: p% M9 @" s' S3 M# ?0 d
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
8 I3 A; F8 g+ [. w- \. ^% Hthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 2 u- \- u; Q2 Z1 |! a2 g
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
/ h! R: L ]2 `( _; M# `performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
& I+ N' Q& l, {4 X- m% othe forthcoming year;
& d- j5 E6 |9 V/ e# H7 f, K; g• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical j' O1 ^# V! i" S( F
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ! q1 F, n, o4 |2 w+ \0 v1 M

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
, V+ s2 U- j/ [+ f6 Y1 \• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
