The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and u) Q* I/ t, L+ f1 \4 Q8 i
execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
; o% c: i* \" M9 Z2 l+ A- d, b# b, h- ?the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
/ `8 y6 x8 p/ n5 P1 H! D/ Sthe Board of Directors; ( g: A! j2 @" J- k) B; T8 _; U
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
3 I. O8 U0 @! `2 t* y# d' E% w1 c2 nincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
+ U0 i+ O* o g$ G4 n5 \% u0 k# f, genable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
% M# }2 {2 M; ~! ^• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 4 o1 W& ^" p- j [6 p
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

7 a) P$ a# m; h• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
5 u7 E: y( S! w/ C: R# m+ ?( p. T• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
, W! A% G% a) u Y; Lthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
; k/ x6 \6 t' D7 `; r8 n• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
: T6 L( W# }5 Y* lchanging needs of the organization and community; : o6 W( S/ X" R9 V6 D# p
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
& e$ H. x% |9 ?; x2 Y" v( Qcommitments;
# X) {0 o; H" D( c+ p. G9 P• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ; U8 B8 H; M! h! o" ^" ~
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
0 Z& g- @$ R. d* M: r2 D6 Qselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
: S L9 C1 B' p5 n) m5 M( p• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
& s, L) d) N7 j6 W5 B( Q4 u3 ~• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 6 _; s: E# b" q# f7 ^' i. p
effectively and positively represent the association; , H- z, n7 G; _

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
8 H" l) } C% J7 `# v; Athe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
/ a( f" d1 ?2 j' J( U, @& g* M• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal # y+ U) O7 Q( \' _/ P7 F
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED : T3 T- A- w7 ]* ]2 }9 p4 d$ @
the forthcoming year;
& V" t; o% @' Z/ j) R# |• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
' K( k# `1 J. x$ [ u& {2 rpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ! ]- b/ [; r* X1 a1 [7 F& t t

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Experience
p: E6 g9 i; `$ h7 s• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ( ?# e' J3 ?9 I* k) [
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ! B& J2 b& F7 ^& f5 N4 g, t( x
abilities; ; A7 r0 p' a- x, \0 d
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
3 I3 @5 l5 K+ R7 G% ZNetworking and Fundraising; 5 |7 p: b( C K7 s! U. I- |4 U& B. q
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 0 ^) g" z* @) N A r7 w3 x( W/ d
and financial statements; and
