Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 5 w* ]4 [/ U* H1 U0 ~6 Z3 S

% |. o: y5 r6 l• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of % y" _2 u6 k, b0 \8 M4 X! ]
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 6 a3 X6 ]3 z! A/ R T1 J6 C7 A

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
5 P" H$ n+ d* i0 O- p, R" l; D5 Cincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
! H* U2 @% h) L5 Y5 h1 Tenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; + x4 ~' A, i" T. Z$ S
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
' R9 y/ P8 y/ }, G0 c5 v$ Fobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
6 n, E9 }( ^% `• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
: J& Y4 k7 }3 e* m" ?; }- V6 X: othe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
1 ]! E$ z* M/ H- J• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the : p5 Q) L4 _ R" ~( q
changing needs of the organization and community; , i1 I, R4 e/ H: `3 V3 a/ S6 t
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ) c k: H8 h& ]# Q
commitments;
- K+ U) p7 \: z& ^. o% e& V• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; # B/ \1 f+ v( T
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
: Z) m' Z5 C$ l( F3 b- B8 Uselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; $ z5 A6 Q5 z3 K$ n
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

the implementation of systems to manage these risks; & C( P$ P/ L' ` y8 X
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
! g- T2 P% q, t! ~' A% Mperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 5 e) ^% o, P8 b
the forthcoming year;
# \& K$ S* ?) r, d& D l2 E• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 4 `! ~# _- ^( q8 u9 j- F# n0 ~. E
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ( A7 m6 q1 @+ d( z' O A; Y

Required Professional Designation / Certification
* p- ?9 _& V0 r+ e• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; # D* Y% ^- p0 |9 I2 r: ^
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 1 ^; O* D6 ~; c2 K/ j$ t
abilities; - v( E# J9 _" h9 V2 `
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, , m1 p( p, M" L& y0 B# Q. @8 K
Networking and Fundraising;
