Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
, \' q3 Y, o j- C! cthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
# p% k4 U M/ \" G/ Uthe Board of Directors; 6 d/ C m, e9 l
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 8 U& C7 P- n* i8 }1 z7 k
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 2 X' x) R( u' X; R7 w; ?
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 1 X9 t Z2 H" b2 K' f/ g1 I
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
" i( E4 `+ L9 ^* ~$ Y2 mobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
/ W4 r5 ^. i. S" A9 jthe board; 4 w' G# A: z7 z4 C0 K- [. B
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
( ]2 f% L5 v; F" u7 s" n• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
" ~1 _: B, a2 w, P! Uthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 2 ~- s- n6 p, O8 Q
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the . a. [$ _, C$ ~
changing needs of the organization and community; 5 E* A% v, f: _# h
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 9 Q+ J+ T& f' Y6 E9 `9 }. E
commitments; 2 a6 f9 G" G" N! W% N7 H: p
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ( v# t0 l$ A8 b9 v& B ^2 ?2 d: Y
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
7 t3 I, c, ^# p5 n8 l! p2 T4 w$ wselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
, V( [& G& c$ n5 ~8 t, L• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ! m+ S8 C+ J% h. F2 y9 M
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; & R' w. N! T0 l) v
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
) }0 N& W( |9 x1 Kperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 0 J( S2 q* g# ^ F
the forthcoming year;
. V) U, ]3 E% \2 \' q1 ^4 X• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ' |& p" m. y7 m& D0 P
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

! _6 `' o5 X. t, ^( y• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; % w: g4 j! ?0 m" ]
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, ) ^) N( O7 u6 |/ c' N
Networking and Fundraising;
