Responsibilities

- ]2 d- v4 c/ }# ]Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

5 ^! d$ v! i9 H2 r3 B• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of % X- B+ S9 @! c; D, i* F1 ^
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 7 L* i: |: v; ^! y5 d
the Board of Directors;
C& n6 e& Y/ G. k! E• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations - l8 {! v, f" U3 ~6 p7 v: N
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and L5 k9 ^1 q* A
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ! e) U6 e9 [1 ^6 Z! \2 l; a

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; & Z; V9 B. q+ H& Z4 C$ G* p* [
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
7 |1 b0 U8 V+ J* N2 i" O c T9 O, |the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
1 }$ t/ B0 c" g• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 6 l5 V- V0 Z( t. g' |: m
changing needs of the organization and community;
. j* `) Q" p, m; C$ h& d! G& Z• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue # V) R6 w4 F! [$ \0 |

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
; g/ Y* S" U. `) M, |, _& E2 {• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
& Z! C& T: y* F3 \4 m3 t+ mselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
# U& p( ]4 ~* o• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
6 k* z1 G) z+ @% E• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

5 w- p# [0 E# |; ]% g• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring $ Y' J' w& v" P2 K. s& l
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
y9 D- I z1 Q6 G7 C5 o• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 2 n/ I6 O0 \. R9 T* B" o
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
( A8 t0 c2 s3 ]* v- ~3 E+ Gpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Professional Designation / Certification ! O7 o# W( L/ v* Y4 ~% O- _4 m8 ~
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. * T. t1 v" h6 g
/ D- o0 Q' o: m/ XRequired Experience T' j# ^, F4 w5 ?' O
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
# `: d& `) R3 Y+ b• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation - `* N; k. M. C
abilities; " t8 e: M" w; c# A# ?9 | R
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
0 ~/ W' V1 k. _% ^) PNetworking and Fundraising; 4 I5 q! o; V1 j/ `( A3 ?0 z
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
+ s2 |8 I2 q. y1 }and financial statements; and
