Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of * S z7 E$ @6 N0 A( ]% o
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by - H# j5 I4 a& ~( v3 d, M b
the Board of Directors;
6 a& e7 v. L* }) z• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
, P; H9 O% a, _0 }4 {$ [including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
. U& @3 N2 w O& \. X# f, Denable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
6 S' ?) O- k/ K: Z6 i• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
* |: W8 T: z% `* Qobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by & s! q- ` P1 q, S4 z
the board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 5 I/ _' R* x" u
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
* x8 Z* `* E- [6 C0 {- _; j• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 3 H" B( ^; D' N
changing needs of the organization and community;
C; y! `; d8 l• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue : ^ u Z. k6 k! K8 Y

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 4 g1 q& O8 t! _. M Z
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective * R6 T1 B `2 I, j' {
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
7 b h+ ^! w( e1 J8 P• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring - D) o- G0 k/ l
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
9 Z: F1 {% o$ t, e• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ) M. I3 e9 ?9 W- `1 e R
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ! e0 q) R& a9 l+ R
the forthcoming year; 5 D; Q3 c: _ E$ e7 P$ K
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical . K8 v' u& Y# d q' R. L6 @
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

4 B3 ~3 V4 K( D9 v9 c• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 2 ~( s2 m7 ?( J9 P: Y9 t' m. Q
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation + i8 C9 u1 e- h4 y7 `3 R
abilities; - d/ e2 v1 w0 r( ]4 L; \' p+ L
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
+ y, h G3 J* y8 B: o7 zNetworking and Fundraising; 6 C- Y. I s6 ?. A" f" ^
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
9 x6 a9 v. C9 N5 [" a. ?7 Sand financial statements; and
# `9 ^9 G5 \2 T3 w/ r• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
& [/ ?% k( q) m6 Vcentered perspective.
