Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 0 z) K6 u o5 V7 j/ Y
execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include: + V* s$ s) K: D

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
- c ~ B* c, `. Pthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
$ c6 w+ ~8 u+ ]3 ]7 k( ethe Board of Directors;
6 H+ D: R) ~- Y4 n) w• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
5 L8 _3 O g1 U; D2 E3 { y5 J3 }including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 8 Q# ]$ K3 U+ b& ^, j' W5 m% P- C9 u
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
5 {) b) ?1 R! R. q Q• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 1 g" `. v4 m' F2 @) h @
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ) v7 g" k. r) T, i o# w
the board;
$ U, J3 i; K8 J& K• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
, q# w: e0 \0 a% e" j0 C• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
% p$ W0 t% L: E8 Y& Bthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
: m9 |% O( {; [4 o% p4 Q1 l• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 6 H# R; K c! X3 d T! I$ R* I; w
changing needs of the organization and community;
, K( ~# P; B% G. c8 _• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue & V+ r0 `+ L' n) b
commitments;
`' W( \# ]' W. N% y8 D• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
% k* ]5 [; ^5 z$ S. L• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ^ @) P. t, |$ t
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
|/ \: [4 @" |; \• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
4 X" U0 ?4 ~. _% P. _" `7 u% y" f• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
' Z0 d8 O3 {$ Deffectively and positively represent the association;

% o9 }# P+ Z f( a d; J+ \3 W• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
& y7 @4 M5 T, R& X4 z# @8 l3 }: nthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; , Y5 L* J& ]8 u+ h7 f9 s
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 2 t& E: e% T+ [! i# }
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ( t G% v+ _- f* {7 @/ y
the forthcoming year;
( V- T2 S6 v( {) B+ \9 x7 K$ ]; F• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical . T6 h" M# N- k! {
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
