The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and . @ ]" ~% p4 }: U" t1 V; i, ~: {
execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include: 3 _% a$ z8 W ^5 P
2 {( P, n, `0 ?1 t0 r' s+ b* q- @• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of : n! y9 L r8 {1 A) T6 s" D! S
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

4 c7 ^: h$ q7 A, R' |• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
: P7 G; }8 p9 f" aincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 5 F8 h% i5 h, S3 _. W3 F1 K
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ; \% A8 I( h% L
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
3 ?/ X _; n2 U2 Yobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 3 {. s: H1 u' [9 X/ s

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
7 j. s7 p7 \+ ^3 i0 V3 ]9 [• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 0 A% L: A% Q5 p* k
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 9 {% i& l+ g7 e* ^
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
) H4 {. o# z1 t- h+ Ychanging needs of the organization and community; / M! ]( r @' e3 ^( o4 r# I7 o; t! |8 u
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

; a/ f w; R, D• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
1 g8 E! s- z8 L. @8 E/ @• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ' t0 m+ z9 Q9 o6 { s7 N! W8 ?* C: l. ]
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
' ~ s( k5 b5 P/ d7 T" M. B• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring % _/ p+ m1 x" W2 Y( {! b6 i! P0 i
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; : B0 n3 _% Q1 g( D
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
8 f E- U- `+ D* N8 V: Cperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ' _5 K# A/ p; \ b: u
the forthcoming year;
5 J J: I$ }/ y& ]5 ^& M% e9 C• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
/ Z9 ?/ h) M% R7 @( Ipractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 4 Q* r, A+ g; \5 |
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, / p/ m; k4 f5 x" `( a/ N

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
