The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

execution of the YWCA Strategy % P! R: t, ?7 }! a% u, j5 e: ^
1 A; l, ]1 P5 |. l& SSpecific responsibilities include:

, J- R2 h: H7 g" V) Z, L• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
6 Z( g% |& I7 @# g. r7 Nthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
# @0 G0 e' ?7 \5 Z# \ g# E. lthe Board of Directors;
* U/ ]4 p- \1 R5 e& }. @• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
* \( \/ d& D i0 s" b* Zincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
& V+ r K3 x/ T. [; penable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
# u- j5 V- ]6 |+ X1 F' T4 F• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
8 j% b) D% C! h0 z. tobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ) i; n& Y' ?* E5 G2 ~
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 0 o4 F& y: r$ h$ Q. Y
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
% ~4 |8 Q1 n: k! B5 ychanging needs of the organization and community;
' n* S0 a: _" H) r• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue % w3 I, O7 f% V! l" O& w8 k5 ?

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ~' X4 m: p& a7 n
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective + p& G2 P/ l/ z! _1 [
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
$ Z$ N+ s( w1 C* O( y2 |! B# z• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
0 e1 M' A5 _- A, y# F0 ^, T• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

$ L! C( X2 p# ^• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
3 T# M5 d8 B+ ithe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 8 P- e+ y T( K* @4 \3 X
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 5 ^8 f \* y- _
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ' D9 `. t8 L0 W J5 l9 h& g
the forthcoming year; $ C9 N) l2 h6 l8 Q; Z5 W4 o
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
( \$ k3 E; P" m o: Ppractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task 0 q2 }: Z6 l' Q% c, t$ q0 D

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
, Z: ?- B- a# C• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

' a2 V* O$ ?) v3 s' t( D" u" N• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, & _* T, q' e Z! o! ~6 M
Networking and Fundraising;
