Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and " ?3 U+ X+ p8 A/ ?# x1 Y7 ^' h
execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include: . q' W/ u: [2 V; E( Q

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of * X8 H/ ?/ H, C& M5 V" n
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 9 F( u+ f0 v, L) i! o
the Board of Directors;
- h5 i; B' N( m4 ?0 e• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
+ R# { O" F( `including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to z6 R4 H% C) F; b6 Q4 j$ `
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
; k/ Q4 G2 Y. [6 I: P' E• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
' @* l6 l. R# a1 ^objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; " o, }+ B/ n0 B/ X8 p8 k$ |2 L) Y8 g
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
) O6 Q- n1 O* V+ o: dthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 6 w& y' f0 C: `( ~8 `: q9 Z
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

}" b. n# X5 P5 P• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 1 t5 T; n# ~2 x$ \
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
0 Y t- R+ i/ s9 j {selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 2 ~, M( O' {8 p- i) C. h
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ( b! V" v7 G! Y& Z4 U
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 7 D% l2 M' C; l0 a, ]& g4 x
effectively and positively represent the association; * M! _& Z4 y5 o# g) M# y L
" S3 a# F& h# z7 R L; A K• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
% U4 _( y( ^9 fthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
" O( W" h+ ^. P0 \: I8 k# I• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ; g. n; Y' }: W1 w# t
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
+ t- v* ]1 u& d; ^the forthcoming year; g/ Y' |. H3 `* V
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
7 `$ @4 I& @( Dpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 2 g/ |1 x! F+ W: ]7 F

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification 7 `! s! m4 r4 k1 w
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
; w/ P) |/ v; Q• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
$ h8 @' M4 L) k• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 0 F" v, h6 X$ U6 S' t" i: |
Networking and Fundraising;
8 ]& ~" e6 L! U$ b• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
