The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of + |* j% `1 O# X: A& h0 N
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
6 `, q- y U3 c6 E! o# @' u0 e3 t( Cthe Board of Directors; ! S( G; {! _3 U' T
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
2 Z" M. {% j! k, {1 zincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 0 H% Q9 [; L: Q' @4 }/ k/ b) @- [
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; & q# t1 h" u! z7 j; Y2 l+ F" `/ X
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 9 \3 w5 J; z+ X, h2 R7 h1 U% y% _
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by * Q- v3 V* F: w% W: [2 g
the board;
# k: t1 h/ }- A' b& [* ^ S• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
8 Q4 M C6 |1 j4 j• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
) E m+ ?. R3 Z8 M! g+ \& s8 qthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
8 }' G, s7 \1 f/ L& m" ?• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
& E2 W8 K9 ?6 m4 m0 \' `. b- d• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
* a0 {% ~- f. Z. Q3 ^: fselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ' j- |3 I$ H- {9 q: U
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
& G- v! ?2 q& c$ j6 e3 E• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to , V/ K" ~ I: D/ d, _( q
effectively and positively represent the association;

4 Z. d! W7 B4 f) _. ?• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 2 n6 i* B4 R, y9 G
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
/ i! S" e% M9 {" G' ?! e• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ; A1 }' r. j# a! s- ]
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED S, Y5 `0 {. I
the forthcoming year;
/ z5 q7 o/ d# d0 v O. \4 i2 u- U• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ; \. b5 ]. P5 J( p5 C
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task 0 W8 n+ V4 M/ K: b: q) n

• Ability to plan, coordinate, and monitor a significant number of functions / tasks

Required Experience
/ I0 f; I! ^3 S• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
4 }" P3 y( C0 t# N• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
G8 \8 N) F6 z% E3 pabilities;
# M7 m4 k3 l* B/ i) {9 U1 I• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, " ]5 I; f$ Y4 a- n1 z; d; }
Networking and Fundraising;
