execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include: 7 h* j+ ~5 c, u6 H. a" H0 p
% D% Z* t% R" ^% O/ C; c U• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
7 d& V+ n* {, c. k1 K+ y+ x7 Sthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 0 A7 b0 p4 Q }, G0 r
the Board of Directors;
' Y5 c* x" ~3 w3 }9 b4 K' f0 F• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
! E( K6 Q$ v. ]1 M/ H. Lincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
% o3 s) ^9 e, y" j" U, oenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
# d9 h* t. I% ` f1 @• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 6 j3 f% D: r$ n+ p" k* |3 f
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 0 [$ d9 F e+ u8 I2 w
the board;
" @, ?& T9 C) n• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 6 C( Z0 B. j. Q+ R% G
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 1 j/ \. ]% u( o" Z& r% w
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; / ~7 x4 M" e- ^& t2 `
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
! f+ l4 @8 J: p1 uchanging needs of the organization and community;
( |5 r3 Z. {5 l u$ C2 Y& j• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 9 |- d* q" G3 [ e& R* U

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 2 y F- S% K* k: d ]7 U, U
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective / L' R1 g" K( Y4 ]% w4 \ c
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

8 ^$ }2 O, t& ~+ {3 ~; e9 k• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
) ]& U" o5 z; b" Q8 N0 O- K8 Zthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
& A0 p3 E" A3 |6 U L4 l y0 j• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal : Z+ y, [, v9 n" W# C) k& \- Z
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 5 Z- O) _- y4 [4 G3 o9 |1 J
the forthcoming year;

Required Experience
3 C- N; ^. f0 U• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
7 u& `9 w" Y! e6 b2 q/ v• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ; ~0 B$ {! X$ X4 t/ B3 v* Q) X

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
! h1 U7 t6 W8 m- }Networking and Fundraising;
* n) J# i7 [, K• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
