Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
' E5 r6 e+ @& t; p# I3 ^/ Kexecution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of s" T) }# [- J. e+ o. @
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
! s4 X/ I) q; O* X% Rthe Board of Directors; $ r% z6 @/ \8 {
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 0 y0 x& i9 n; h
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
0 a( R6 @& V+ k- fenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
" @% N7 X; `6 I$ d9 o4 w" b3 ]! d• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
' g" S9 Z% r3 l8 R0 ~objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by , L h6 x! F- b" Y4 R

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; * h7 e" u+ U6 @
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion " b1 @; {* X( C8 r3 ?
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; * D; h$ J c0 |$ N
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the N; q4 |! v; U6 j
changing needs of the organization and community; % j( Q5 \ n# ?/ @$ c
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue : j; g4 v8 h2 s5 |5 f4 U

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
; V% D) v$ J4 S$ Q4 r• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective . D: N0 m. M. p2 Q, [
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 9 H6 l+ o0 W9 r# [4 G! V
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring # b3 `8 ?, R# a- Q ~
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; $ s' b4 c9 g: Z$ \, D, G
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
( B- P" G5 F N. q5 [; V- ?6 g" ~, T- c9 Lperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
, y, \7 d; l5 o" P! ethe forthcoming year;

practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Experience
% z9 v3 C/ `0 V+ K# B) W• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
& Z/ N& M7 y5 I. U# l; C• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 8 m" ^" H, X) t+ u: \& M4 a
abilities;
2 y5 ?: y. F1 x; w' Y• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
j% J. {% [/ W+ p- eNetworking and Fundraising;
$ Y* ~0 F. ~$ @• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

A5 h4 i4 r! R- c• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
