Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

2 _7 k& }- s5 N d- _3 f6 Q• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
! L+ {5 u0 h; e1 ~7 |the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ( h) e( F( M' J' v
the Board of Directors;
) n2 {8 ^2 S0 d2 \• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
( r$ l6 v8 s1 Z7 n3 A( }5 A3 Fincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 6 w& v0 v) X" L8 y( `
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 6 }5 L% A9 i- W* F7 [( E
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
- C I7 Q8 f0 ~& j6 k* B Hobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by * H r( ]9 c" a) u8 c8 _
the board;
8 U& z& P, z* F; `• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
, `. ? u, G, e% l• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 7 i* P! C! d( M- i
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
' b* u2 t! D7 L& ]• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ) ^4 y5 @2 e4 q" l9 F- m' ~8 n; E0 T
changing needs of the organization and community; * e! |& X Y% R: ^; W
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
$ O* q& U* d( _7 i6 icommitments; ' W- y/ d; E6 h' I/ Y6 C% A/ N6 ^0 q# h
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
4 p# a3 e; S; d8 @7 t+ w• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
8 P9 d- G/ \8 eselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
% T' `* G \) |- m- r3 j8 n• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
! p' M# }' G& N- P4 h* U; _$ ~- g! F• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to " p8 Z$ g) |8 G: s, b5 \
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 6 I5 V) l# l' N Y0 ^
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
; v8 A9 O$ C* d/ A* j; e0 y. g• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
2 U9 s% U: s% k$ ^9 |performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 0 h; p! {6 W; F7 T, G
the forthcoming year; ( \& R% [) X- I2 P X0 n! P( |
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical $ {5 G: i p7 D n5 `! L: |
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
7 c( b' Y0 ^0 U' }2 JYWCA Canada; and
* o! d/ f- z5 g5 x• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task ) t% J9 A7 Y6 B' A
Forces.

• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;

• Ability to plan, coordinate, and monitor a significant number of functions / tasks

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 7 U2 g; e8 _& d, `

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
, B, A( L+ r2 ~0 v* o& A4 K• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

Networking and Fundraising;
