Specific responsibilities include: 7 |0 D/ q) F" D6 n% _
0 |! \0 J! y* ~5 Z1 W• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
1 u: u$ p# Y/ W: Mthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 1 x$ v* R( P2 `7 d. H4 I' t
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to $ u0 q4 m; O6 }( c" |* `
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;

objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
9 z" S6 k+ M0 I2 ^: A. O* G• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 6 c' j+ ~0 b# R, }8 b4 M1 B5 |3 B
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
/ n o& w3 n7 T" c3 e• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 8 W& ^* l2 {9 s) P
changing needs of the organization and community; ) W" U$ p1 ~* J5 n6 ?
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
" {' D2 g, d `! ]commitments; : c" w9 e9 E2 E4 x& c2 C0 q
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
+ Y/ |& ]8 N- f$ \' g• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
* ~& ^ ]" R9 F5 W9 Nselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 3 [# A4 u0 y2 z
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
" {4 G. ~* Y. a0 lthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
" t% t% ?% Z1 V0 ]/ M0 L• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
& y) M/ G) _' N' Fperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
" l+ D; m- l% D; U1 hthe forthcoming year; , W4 p1 a, D1 h2 j& E
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
1 \) Y# W; U8 p+ Xpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of / i: T: S: }, h) d: B/ f
YWCA Canada; and

Required Professional Designation / Certification
4 u% X% P* l# i, w0 d• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. - y" u/ H% Z0 h1 S$ Z" [, ^

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
) p8 X0 X. J: s8 Q) W, n• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 0 Y3 B! Z% h" c4 S/ R2 R6 S1 \
abilities;
3 n: H; s0 A" b& l% _' P, `4 R$ r• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
