Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 9 [; m/ |" U- O* Z
execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
) [( h. D5 R: H' `; {the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
( ~4 k+ C9 ~: Y/ f5 U! n/ l8 Ithe Board of Directors;
2 i' P- q8 T, m# P) R4 I• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
- t; \) |) l* u- c3 I$ I$ E8 gincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
, e6 ?% u5 G' Q5 M5 P7 v" n$ uenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 8 `5 C7 d- L( u Y: s1 [
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and - f9 G9 L9 K* W
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by d' m# }7 U7 u; l1 m' ~
the board; 9 g( L6 U& O3 T8 t8 z" k+ y
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; + e1 J) Q) d5 V! b, q# m0 f$ d7 Q
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
$ ]( D6 p z. p9 Zthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
2 \6 V& X6 q* @# l• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
) | o! x! D/ P6 n3 J+ ^+ ~changing needs of the organization and community; % y8 ?. [2 C3 F$ P- N
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
3 V& M/ n6 o3 U; y) k1 `5 ocommitments;
# M& e( j0 E! t$ F ^: v5 o• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
/ M1 y/ x6 C3 g• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 4 j$ H- _7 o' @6 R* c8 G$ n
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ; h+ G9 w( J) v
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ) C! \% x. }7 y' a6 b
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

X* H' x7 a2 w/ k• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring : B: [# d* N* p; o F
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; + o* {$ X$ w* [$ p$ {/ t' i7 L
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
3 {! X+ o+ h5 O3 K9 V0 k" Z% Lperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
7 Z# k: W6 O: R, T+ m0 uthe forthcoming year; ; u, i+ B5 k, J- `/ x/ [. M
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ! g$ c! J. c! T) }
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
: d& }. S' x8 J$ \YWCA Canada; and
0 Q9 \- Q* W' s7 n4 E• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. - H- S+ {$ X5 m; P( H

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 8 j4 @9 a( F/ D7 Z* B
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ( b4 u$ N2 B' P5 C, M+ E
abilities; - f: _$ h/ i# d, ]# h
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
- m$ |$ l! ]1 m2 ?6 XNetworking and Fundraising; % i8 [* }4 M0 c3 [
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
