. }9 j; [8 ?( q [5 ?Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

Specific responsibilities include:

, p" d! B* ?. y4 t5 \8 |% b/ y• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of + |- ?; V4 I% J6 C
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
/ ?% B4 x" [6 D) r6 z) ]4 pthe Board of Directors;
; P. N$ t: Q% b5 q# [/ ^. e$ M5 n• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations , q5 ~+ `% s6 ^; r
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 0 t% d* {* U, ^+ y( z. u) T0 a7 g
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 9 R' N) ^2 R' @) {0 N- }# Q
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and : x0 M* d/ K9 j
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by : G$ U; V) Q' Q; N3 {0 n5 q

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
: L% [; H8 X+ L1 Q• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
4 n9 ]. m: j# u0 j) ]the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ( c! W) |: v6 p# L1 Z n
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
9 t' l& I! z$ O3 M3 @" _* ~changing needs of the organization and community;
* Z/ b6 F% f9 | K! k6 f• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 1 K3 ]+ m Y' X/ a7 b
commitments;
: W! v- w" t; Y' ?& B• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 8 D9 G9 v6 Y/ }5 V" M
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ) H$ \8 K6 B% R' y( N4 r
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
2 {" w. Y$ e4 u3 n; \ K, L• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
' o' _4 }3 V8 e3 [• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to q- }9 V& a' _& D4 s' k! T4 H
effectively and positively represent the association; ! U$ t' r# T7 G! X9 ?% t

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 1 o! z( M; w8 d* q& H4 m( C# X8 X+ r
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
. V; n( P7 S$ U b• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ( ]7 l% T' G2 _; B" F2 U
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED - G: h2 d. j; R4 K
the forthcoming year;
5 [3 O0 U; R) B9 ]& _• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 9 B3 a/ d3 |( x, w- o
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 7 r/ s3 L" Z b( @7 `9 d+ X% S+ i% i

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Ability to develop and understand organizational goals, objectives and operations;

• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;

• Interpersonal Skills – Exceptional listening and communication skills and ability to build

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
: l) L) n: m) J9 d" ~ F• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ( q! d4 w: e1 \1 m
abilities; , L+ [" |$ C. b1 t+ [3 m% \* ?) j
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
$ }3 g: ]* R* E' ~Networking and Fundraising;
4 e) K' A1 K" }6 R8 s• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting ; V: y+ v' ?3 ]+ B4 @. G
and financial statements; and : c) P8 B3 E8 c7 e
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women , v. Q* ]3 H2 T& G/ C* k: O
centered perspective.
