Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
; ?0 L) o. _9 Y3 N3 n. G$ ^ [3 Pthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by " d& f D. [7 C5 G; f
the Board of Directors;
8 w( w2 d4 ?" a% A• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
, M5 f, g! v7 l" L) u5 ?, Jincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to * _- h- a4 H: ?& _% I0 w
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
, ?- T: a8 D1 J8 E8 N/ I t) n• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and $ \% b/ P& D8 s( W
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 2 ?5 z s# B7 ^# B
the board;
$ h4 e& }5 c0 P- }• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
" H: i5 N9 B! u$ m: J• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
/ E" Z" M7 y+ a3 Ythe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
: t3 F- n5 S' }# E3 Z. ?- A% U• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
% ~0 Y- ~9 y# n5 o7 Kchanging needs of the organization and community;
+ L0 N9 j& Q. M0 w• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ; Y: H ?3 M' a& y3 K7 [3 F% a P

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
* J9 F+ U; Q; _• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
7 l& H: |( T7 {selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 9 \) | U' w6 V: W( f t0 z4 }
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ) k4 A$ d& v1 p: V L- U
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
( Z* s' r4 C$ w3 ?' A, C2 qeffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ! N# f$ D& z: u) W
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 0 o" H4 E8 b" p4 P
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal % X6 c" D E/ F
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
* m$ F/ Y/ s' \: Athe forthcoming year;
6 z* A C; B ^, H4 w• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
. q" b0 g! j! ~* Tpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of * D! v, T" ?- S; ^$ B
YWCA Canada; and

Required Professional Designation / Certification

Required Experience
9 Z7 m% ]8 D* j# c0 D/ ]• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
! Q. D* X9 q* W6 g• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, - ~" x, H. w B3 n- Y
Networking and Fundraising;
