Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and : J& v0 ^8 f* R2 @& p( v' E

Specific responsibilities include:

0 K' F$ m: j4 G% m) c) i• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of , s" V- p8 | R
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
. b7 A6 q) O# _. f7 f- F v8 ~ Lthe Board of Directors; 4 _: u9 r- d" _9 h/ O9 c
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
9 b& V8 C9 W! W5 U; K6 z8 aincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to # g1 L# S5 b7 M) v
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ' \7 {* W/ u: q0 T. r+ m7 u
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
- [% E% e. K2 s4 aobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ' {- j. z9 P3 G: L1 I- E# q* T
the board;
3 g, k; t8 k% G1 t9 }% W+ W• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
* c M$ r! b; F. e2 Y% i3 G• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ' l8 j$ P6 G8 h
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
J8 N. b& l/ e3 A• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

! w+ I6 k; C5 C+ E4 [; ]• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 4 I2 v& @6 X1 a+ U# Y+ R

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; - N2 t% h" ~4 @( n( _8 x0 }# D
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective

k+ E; p9 S* E w; t4 ~• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring % E1 N+ C; b* p) g
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 0 x5 f; l/ k$ r* s- t& h, ]3 X1 y# z6 A
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
" {1 ?, |" m0 C) w8 n6 yperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ( n6 E# S$ F2 @9 G/ y9 _+ Y
the forthcoming year; . U' t% t7 R5 A' b, ?7 X1 A
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ' x; r! X# Z5 ~4 z% A
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task * I4 t# G2 \# T( L

Required Professional Designation / Certification
. j S6 s( _6 M% ~' ?0 \• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; $ D/ o# ?2 h ^# |) L9 h
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
) N( d$ r5 v# V/ f3 }. X9 `) b+ `1 babilities;

: w) T5 l( `; L- UNetworking and Fundraising;
