this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and / `: @( H- P- H6 b. \, D, t
execution of the YWCA Strategy 7 R8 p9 M( O- A2 C

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of # o J: f- n) w) R1 i! r/ E: }7 Z! s
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by " G! X& G% G' {
the Board of Directors; 1 D" j, V1 J+ Q5 g4 j4 G, M
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
) R) x5 l) ]1 v% A$ e/ Iincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
5 F/ @ E3 ~" T$ E# Q. ]8 menable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
& A2 e, z7 v5 e, q( ?4 ^• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
, x% X" Q4 Q5 h" a1 ]. f9 iobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by - P5 D! M. Y) J
the board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
& K7 z# c. K+ L' |2 Q1 _$ zthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
/ q$ L) x; _1 T0 }! {' p• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
* M Z& k7 l. {0 z" Xchanging needs of the organization and community;
2 f1 r% o( O4 a3 E t. k7 n• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
( d; q" m8 u7 ?+ Y1 Lcommitments; ( d& ^7 Q6 j* M; R+ a
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; # [$ G' r' o" N
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ' P/ _+ W' }- F% o
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 2 \6 L' z7 s1 I. m. \8 {
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 3 ?% u. f8 M$ u/ Q ]
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
! z" p; b: T* h+ Z: L5 d1 weffectively and positively represent the association;

* o) |% {* e1 J' @" `1 v# f& C4 s• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
9 ^* W, R' j- g7 k9 xthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
: \/ D/ S! P& e! |( F) }, x• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
3 K' @2 E# l( Y4 A: xperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 8 P' x4 @; I+ m
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of + l/ p7 I p# O' m0 N& m
YWCA Canada; and

Required Professional Designation / Certification

1 a$ W+ v: D, D6 A) Z" P! _* U( J• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
9 ]5 \; p8 V) z8 o1 f• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation $ m; i4 C1 s4 C. n0 d
abilities;
6 s+ l8 {7 \) D% t7 t c• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
