5 U. x2 ]* H: [* gReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
0 ]7 V/ K0 }: Q3 `8 jexecution of the YWCA Strategy ' G( }. s* v' C" D) X3 n7 q

Specific responsibilities include: 3 ~8 t+ u2 I4 B: K' q# A

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
- b0 c0 [3 d, J9 B4 y8 Ythe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
% R' k* V k P n8 `8 O3 W& I$ Ethe Board of Directors;
$ z- x" B+ u8 f& V' n• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations * F3 Z1 ~: ]$ t7 ^. @* m9 V
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to $ n5 I! m: O2 D- m' F. N
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
; }) L5 t8 Y0 a# I• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and + ^( H6 F: d6 k5 |$ {0 R
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 6 \1 d( a" ~+ L8 J* l, R
the board; 9 r. g# r/ H, Z* K) i
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
% T; s% \- I: ?. C+ i& |• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 5 E& J# N# |) h& h8 y8 F
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; / P# S+ `+ T/ G3 h- d, u' [
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the + `, K( x! \3 k& h& F+ c4 t
changing needs of the organization and community; 1 {" `; u/ [7 S5 C( K
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue & o/ _& u$ ?. Q+ _% M
commitments; 1 G; Q9 L% \4 w* ]/ W
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
+ z; |9 c2 J3 d3 t• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective - s" X% R6 ~" u, |& ~" Z% @0 _' B$ o
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
, v9 u9 u( \ c' T" n! ?; s• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
9 \; ?8 X; ^* C# A- S5 k- b/ Z& Z• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to # {. b1 c* }/ E' u6 [
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ! S7 W, @1 |& E0 v+ l
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; ! T$ n( O- j( b9 `$ A9 O3 m( d
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
/ c+ H. Z1 |5 fperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 9 V3 k7 j8 k. i, V6 w, ~1 O
the forthcoming year;
4 B2 s9 v J8 K- @! x0 }• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
3 E; z& |/ C; Z8 P; d$ ?; Wpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Experience
% M6 e$ C+ o J* {% p j; M• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ) e9 E3 R3 }3 g0 K3 V: _& X% j: l
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 8 s8 B% C3 i! k& y8 n/ C6 W- z
abilities;
* ^4 V7 b* X$ T$ x% |• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
$ Z5 W6 [7 r& @Networking and Fundraising; 7 h3 N2 E) }. N$ F6 |4 d
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
$ o* f: _) F- v2 T, F" g7 ~& Uand financial statements; and + j, B. v, d1 \# {
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women , X. k$ b) o. ~0 k: S
centered perspective.
