Responsibilities

execution of the YWCA Strategy 5 H. e4 ]# ]: H, K$ \0 a- `
% d$ G. ~- T) n3 DSpecific responsibilities include: 4 Y* {) }% ]* y

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ) l# a- y/ W7 W" ~4 m
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by # I% J7 E# J% m' p
the Board of Directors;
# X9 g0 ?8 {- e" ]3 N• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
c9 s @$ V, u% }8 Uincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 7 C) \+ Y- P. Q( a
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; - b+ Q0 u# f- C2 v
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 9 f3 ~+ \3 F3 Z o8 Q
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 3 Q# G1 Z) H0 e( v9 W

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
0 X g" G+ N: V6 Q G• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 2 \/ F2 _, S j$ v
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; : o- F. }7 y. N* j/ ?$ X
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue - r" z) u! @/ D5 y
commitments;
9 ]/ k# `2 |/ y+ g5 P: d) r, r• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 9 a. B1 P* I$ E- Y( O5 _
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective - g. h* l+ a/ N6 V7 F
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; & B+ ~+ A: `9 M C4 o, Q
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; : c, d" i. L& `$ u1 U) r
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 3 `1 _6 b: p6 r [6 U r" L
effectively and positively represent the association; + }; \+ G4 K$ b; E# R! K. f

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
% H1 G! v0 j& D* K8 N7 pthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
# }4 i# d6 F) H( e, B$ \" z• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
$ p* ^6 p4 l8 Sperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ; O+ g& E3 P. }) R# v
the forthcoming year;
9 [, }: t4 ^3 t- L0 h• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
$ ?+ j% \% ^3 k" s4 d& Fpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of * T$ k9 d% t/ S
YWCA Canada; and

' g2 p( i: @( K& E• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; L/ [6 b; L2 [8 W6 i- i
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
. K; ~4 _ x1 F: u0 T4 e- }. labilities; , W* b+ K7 |5 w, ` ?# N* S) L
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
/ }& \+ v) M) zNetworking and Fundraising; " b3 n% c( v, r: t0 u1 M; H
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
* l2 F0 t9 b$ Hand financial statements; and
