execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
! w8 O& e+ v9 C9 b' b; R. ^, {- ]the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
1 X- z( M5 |9 O4 ]* N* f- ethe Board of Directors;
% Q/ ?- t X& R" V• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
. e, [9 m/ u' ~' p3 ~* Rincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
6 G! [( _0 o) tenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
9 g ?* f l1 }• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
8 K: K1 d& g: A+ k/ H; Uobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
. s+ |; t7 z) l' L4 F• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 0 ~, A% R" g2 w& j. R
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 6 H+ F% V0 {9 I( C7 h9 q8 G$ f
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 4 w. W3 x/ Y0 j
changing needs of the organization and community;
" t8 d5 y. G+ a# n+ ?/ N• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ! K3 I9 o$ \ x- c6 o8 R
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
5 C4 e% Y# ^( mselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 2 j8 T. K0 |9 p: v2 ~5 }# E3 \
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

& e! e/ c. b O. Veffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 9 Z* V& r- Q& r. X
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 2 I. @( C' M8 `2 h# X/ c
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
2 j4 M9 d, ~& I- f, eperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
7 w0 N; |" q8 {+ uthe forthcoming year; % n/ L( @; ?# h9 ?: c) b9 z5 e
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 3 K- z. v% a! z' p
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 7 g5 ]" q: R6 A( f" F- M
YWCA Canada; and
' _6 n& H+ a( g• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. * _' d5 u/ \, x- a. h$ B

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
8 Z6 ?8 Q0 l. R• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation # H4 v7 `! E3 i/ N
abilities;

Networking and Fundraising;
