• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
7 B! b* S& Q# Q. j9 j6 ]8 R4 othe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
0 z/ S4 s0 e: Z9 |the Board of Directors; / p& t: n( b. @: R' ` |" p" e
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 7 S: j$ [8 H0 S
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
6 w! b; t0 ?: z$ Senable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; $ R4 c0 K' ?3 L- N9 {! h, T
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
4 m+ X/ ^7 ], g. t" \# {% O xobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by * h/ F. W2 }" L5 o. A3 \5 E+ s
the board;
& X7 D, C9 H( f o• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; * I3 A; g! m. I/ O8 c8 J5 G0 g" x
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion % v/ ~; R5 \+ o# e8 z4 ~+ j
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
: y, v4 P# D i• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ( D4 A( ~' `2 [$ P: t/ W2 c6 l- k/ |
changing needs of the organization and community;
! v# }' y5 b2 t6 y! R• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 1 O* m! ~8 [6 a- P+ T3 a; a5 L
commitments; 8 z) x2 g/ L* }
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 4 V' x+ q: i7 V- h1 P. q( M
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
N6 Q+ }5 Y: J$ Q! I1 \selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; " M" P& y) }' [/ }
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
# c8 K+ D& X3 f+ o7 ?$ p, \$ J• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 7 c3 @# ~" d" q% G
effectively and positively represent the association; 9 U5 c; _2 `' o3 p2 @
) q( B! ~3 f" N, k1 Q+ w• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
$ j2 N- d3 g5 zthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
8 n- [* U& X6 O" D% s+ w7 ?' W• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
" M* U0 ?$ \+ U& l# Eperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 7 u5 K1 Z- C. i
the forthcoming year; ( i& V$ t. t7 L0 |% |) _/ ~
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ! X+ [9 X8 d+ T4 b! _' d7 I$ R
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 5 }6 Y% j5 D9 K9 Z

Required Experience k, q) K% L8 P. _+ a
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
1 ^- A3 s: y! ~ T* o0 O$ j• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 4 z4 u! O, F" l& j3 [" f: t* ?: Q
abilities; " z1 ~* R5 B) A. C3 @
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
. e/ O* ~* D7 M r+ K; CNetworking and Fundraising; * `& d" K/ a7 Z
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
4 T- j. ^; K! [* E! _1 cand financial statements; and
