Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 2 ]" o/ d7 z' l& }4 O |" q/ E
execution of the YWCA Strategy

) T+ G( {5 a1 h; o, T5 L• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ) |( t4 @( d9 \# V, H
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 7 ~- k* D$ P8 T) E; M6 A' Z5 N1 B
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 5 {) M" b) h2 a, O0 N7 p
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;

5 T6 M! E0 a5 {) y Dobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
% f! j) R" ?5 `; s5 j4 W g0 s g• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
7 `! r# t. W, K( R( o% ]1 vthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
; D+ W2 ~% \! o: f8 x) g• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ) H L1 F, o: C& F l0 s
changing needs of the organization and community; % N+ ?/ F% ?: y% ~
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

7 N I4 h% Z' f6 A9 w2 a2 z• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;

selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
M0 j4 P% b. D7 @ v" W• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
* ^6 v' ^1 V% K4 O• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
2 Y3 K! [$ w c/ w# Qthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
# X5 f! _) i6 O• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ) G) Z4 Y8 V! k: k
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED $ d7 J; O8 K! @) e
the forthcoming year; , b& X: U' a2 }' W# M, k" E
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical $ U7 J% |/ J( c6 J% N
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
; C) e+ P2 ?; \7 _% l% QYWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
% ^$ \6 p1 b) A; H• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
; C4 p& P: i5 a* Q• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation . c! C+ K* q1 B5 |+ l/ {4 D3 g
abilities;
0 }( P" a! j( G h. S' |! ~6 C3 x• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 1 J s3 m1 b+ \7 a
Networking and Fundraising;

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
