Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 2 U( }4 e6 [, y+ K5 ?( m
execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
$ S I: A5 g; {9 Hthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
2 M3 T6 o& H/ \* J8 i }the Board of Directors; 8 w- G: d/ G; L+ S3 @
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations " R6 |; D$ D6 \# j
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
1 q+ U* Z& I3 \% Renable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
" l* y+ r f3 l* K- ^9 D• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 0 {& G1 h/ B5 J1 }- H* |! X5 K* \
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
& ?8 p& P. H$ } k) m0 i• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion / `5 m7 F# w. k6 z; {4 j' v
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
- H) P' {; I/ f8 ?1 g• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
; _: J6 i1 ?- X8 K3 Kchanging needs of the organization and community; 0 i. c# I) p) A& I2 X
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
( a% C, z, `$ X. [ L+ Z. R4 ucommitments; 3 u* ]/ i* M6 x Z1 `8 a. Q
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 0 j% U/ x# K7 C. Q" L, O' w
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
1 Q( R! |& g3 N+ M* Dselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
0 Q0 F! H* C \: |; t+ G• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; # A) P, |' |% h- R/ s# q
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
6 N. k) l4 x; oeffectively and positively represent the association;

6 E7 V* \- @" {/ W) V3 X3 H- ^2 i• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ; w, o# l" B/ ]
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
" I7 q" h9 q8 [/ A e1 `• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
& S8 ?+ E2 v8 m/ {performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 7 A0 A! p3 F9 _" ~
the forthcoming year;
) s# g6 T" J, B: M: I• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 8 ?2 x9 W+ ~& L0 ~% p
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of * { j5 X4 \& `& U4 r6 p

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; / G6 j" W0 [3 H' _% G5 a& M
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 5 }; o8 a0 z' O/ O; v" f

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting & T& S n! B! j+ R d1 I3 a
