Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 7 B+ J9 p7 i2 x) P/ M" j# f
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
' w, H+ d7 w; f- ?; ]( Vthe Board of Directors;
% _: c8 G3 g8 r; z" E• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
7 ?! i; I6 Y# t/ `including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ! c( g+ V1 M; M% Z" e7 a) O
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; $ T( }& t2 ~/ F: h. @
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and " X% R: d& [& ^3 B) F8 ?0 h% y
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
$ N3 V f* I I& h1 R4 n( e$ V3 [the board;
5 I5 T, m$ K, I% A& R• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 7 w& I/ p9 p: I: Y1 h$ C
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
) S3 W, p2 F! w0 b2 A8 ithe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 7 ?5 O! h1 ~$ \. p! Q
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 6 L- A3 x4 i, a6 Z
changing needs of the organization and community;
/ ?" D: P2 b; d0 m1 c, ~• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; , B% b+ {' Q+ W3 k
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective & c6 a, }0 z+ x2 J; m
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 7 |4 @* }8 ]7 d v0 X
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
& p8 c% {: t+ _. I, B• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to ; I/ ~7 H$ i7 }+ A6 v3 W( H3 F
effectively and positively represent the association; : e3 i3 [+ P3 }+ x* T0 W
3 _4 ?7 }+ H3 s: o0 {• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 6 r( I- G0 L9 g" m
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; / a5 T+ j4 ?1 v. A
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 8 r( N' T7 t' u7 \5 U: b
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ' H3 u0 a" R# ?3 ^& h9 q5 J7 T. a
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ; K& r& r8 O! Y3 x7 ]) @ _) G

• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, ) _- f1 a/ t! M) y- d2 C x
