execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 3 f; m1 a& w& J
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 3 d( p: v1 T% J g* T7 y$ ?% I
the Board of Directors; 1 z+ j3 ~: ]. s
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 8 W }* G( K7 b0 N" l" u
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
p+ h& g u& a y+ p3 ~5 Y9 H* y3 `enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; / K( e8 x4 B+ a# Z D
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
y- x c8 k- m* r1 i4 h( Bobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
* ^# P* R# r0 w+ h0 g7 \# Gthe board; , Z8 x, j( s! C( E9 b) s8 t
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; . t) G4 q/ P. s8 N
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
8 P `, F* v% G- u+ ]# R$ Tthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 4 ]; m9 F: g% i, g
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 5 c2 U$ e& L1 S5 r
changing needs of the organization and community;
1 Z# N2 k4 z, I; B• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue % n6 B8 E! x" j1 E1 g% _
commitments; 4 j; c5 D% F5 l
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 6 h# h- b# Z9 w% l
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
4 C/ n/ p" P; D. j$ Pselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ' }) }$ X; ]4 R8 c7 [" c3 K6 {: h
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
$ @0 L) d3 A. W+ W2 J N• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 4 h/ R$ n0 f% F
effectively and positively represent the association; 6 o2 r$ B/ j# L7 B
6 O0 y, \$ ?7 o9 D' N' m! G1 y: l3 ]• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ) J' D5 F* A4 z) }
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; : V3 k6 u3 X: E. m# ]# M
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
( ^7 s" `: E4 r, X& E8 ?, s" tperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 8 n Z- J- F% C! f$ }, z; [; c
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Professional Designation / Certification $ \# U7 l3 j, U3 {( c
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 5 P1 W6 w K- H2 d- P' o" V2 Z
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

and financial statements; and
