Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and * V8 \5 x* b7 Y- S7 Q7 `! D s
execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
1 Y/ ~7 e+ i4 L( v$ R2 D4 mthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
* M( @- H; c' ?6 c* `% N: ^the Board of Directors; - a9 e8 Y @: k5 d2 I6 }
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
! C3 i( ?: {0 S( ~' h* ?including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
. g: M% L3 b5 W, A% S& Yenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
( G5 y5 z# @/ n% K• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
; ~* V3 U7 }- u/ X ]1 Oobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by $ ]" [0 O; k: ~
the board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
+ M. D2 J' e3 _; pthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
5 N2 {1 K- w* e• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
9 j( P2 F8 D: L2 V3 B/ P( Uchanging needs of the organization and community;
2 E$ V, E! N( `( z6 k2 U }• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ) C/ p1 C4 V+ ?7 ?" b, R

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;

selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 1 ]- d; Q$ B6 }# s0 U2 B/ B

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 4 {$ q& b' X- {) Z$ [
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; & ^( T4 }: ~5 T: y2 K* t
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal * _! r8 O. D& b( h4 J! n* `3 G, |' R8 u
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED e! Y' t/ r3 x0 e" _: Y! c1 N X
the forthcoming year;
& M* E+ Z0 F, R& j& |3 C$ j9 F• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 5 o- _# h- @. k: y4 p. W8 K
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 7 _ o* p# ~, l- o4 [

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification
+ X2 }8 v% @; N3 z• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. # T8 X) ~# E c7 G; E7 {

# D9 V, l, }& Y# r$ G/ O• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
M' F9 R7 k$ C( ?; ]) `$ i• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation / Q! c. y m9 d! Y

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
