• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
3 X* }: m, T/ ~7 P2 \the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
* }) p( R# r# X1 V! @the Board of Directors; 3 {' n7 S3 T4 R6 s) f7 [
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
1 g x" c; u) O( y$ p6 t+ S9 y2 tincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to $ h8 O6 [2 K' i& O
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ( F2 M6 U7 r8 ^- j! }
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
* ?# K6 s. g }+ ~1 E& M8 Lobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by $ |" g5 E; i3 ~6 s& s

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; / d: ~5 N/ t/ f/ A G. ?
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 6 L0 J/ b9 ~! g: S* h
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; % L9 M$ \4 w$ K" X
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; $ J W9 p* Y9 R+ [8 b, g% a
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective " }4 Z5 a# S: t9 q6 M$ }! s6 |: F
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring & q9 `* K# z4 n# p# o) {: b
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; & w6 b; s9 ]) Q- Q* c0 ^
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
[) m2 J% } yperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

: L2 ?" C1 c- F& | q• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 1 |( i8 W* T6 K& M- p

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task 8 }! q' j5 S- Q5 z! m# _

Required Professional Designation / Certification 0 _ ?3 [$ {! k7 L
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
& S! c S; R) }# z• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 2 t- j* ]& a" ^4 {: p9 ?
abilities;
( F( m( T9 [% Z+ j4 u+ B• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 9 ?2 ~1 s1 R# L' r+ R7 S% e
Networking and Fundraising;

and financial statements; and
