Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

% \0 V( O6 j1 L, U0 a• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of + T0 i6 ~# a2 f! h
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
4 Q( X Z' H" G1 Y3 X, Mthe Board of Directors; % l0 m4 @/ r) M- y& i- g
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations . J* S( Z% r& c# b5 I0 @ P
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to # Q( p& K/ q4 c- u
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
/ r% B4 e7 S& I/ D D `• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
- O7 T1 v, q: c, u) E# J% ~objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by + Y2 z2 L1 U4 L
the board;
- ^! y. l8 F! G5 N; W• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
I0 t/ t! x- j2 e* f! ?• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 9 Q. f( i8 j7 u/ P
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; " d' }+ [& @8 K! ?. x7 D
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 0 _6 T; T' J( p5 u. M3 ]
changing needs of the organization and community;
- P8 E: X" R n; \8 v- q$ C, n• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 7 `0 R& O( v! n
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
. }: O" Q1 E4 [) p3 T* Sselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
7 G+ S$ @4 ?5 _3 C8 @4 d• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; + `0 P7 H5 v5 U& u& ?0 {3 T
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to ; i3 r7 T; g, n w: N: U
effectively and positively represent the association; & P1 C6 x5 Y4 m. ^) `

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring " }8 T$ v: a5 ]& i
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; # K. g- f# u' w' O, X: x
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
! \+ f$ j9 n' F' K$ A0 {performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 3 Z- I+ V0 O7 j
the forthcoming year;
' i) Y: ^* E) L6 |* H• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
b) Z1 G4 X5 V, gpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Professional Designation / Certification
. t5 }8 x: W1 J7 ]5 k• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

- E0 Q5 s/ u/ V# ^• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
8 } L1 e. V/ f& S• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

3 _8 ]% K* D6 A9 x2 t( B3 d• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, + Q$ k0 ?( }& B2 m

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
