Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
! d! |. `+ k7 {# [execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by k! n/ J3 u7 F5 M* V' Q
the Board of Directors; + R P! [& q& [! D7 _; `
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations # f$ ~3 |6 R, f( n
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
: {; `* M5 {% P, S denable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
/ W1 \, w2 b# v. K* S; V4 o. g1 D• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and - p2 m" ]( G8 u$ [# Q) [# x
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ) F7 L5 z- A5 ^3 {

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
1 y9 g6 y5 E c p! K; O4 N/ q• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion , V$ S; ~: s# `' \) |
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; % |2 I: z! p. i& M( Y# A5 N1 o
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
3 G1 j2 }* @+ E$ i) cchanging needs of the organization and community; ' N1 u' M, @- j
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 1 X! L. e$ x: E j$ w' Y
commitments;
* `" R x8 h" a7 G• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
: K# e2 b! ?- F# r; U• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
2 s* f9 u3 Q* c0 W7 xselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
8 z, ?8 o5 `3 c3 x8 |; y6 ?( h7 w• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ( d* C3 Z1 Y _ i5 O
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

, c) K p- h v. p• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
+ s# T! x$ q" j) M7 g# `the implementation of systems to manage these risks; , R; X& ]7 ~" `! H7 X; d& t- k
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal Q, C8 y) q, E1 f* |& o& B$ s
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
' i$ e$ m' { H" Z: G# qthe forthcoming year;
( g+ s( }8 e1 B, j9 G4 Z• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ) Z4 t6 l4 G; e# \" t* J
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 8 p1 h2 ]$ G! z

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task , F6 U, l! S4 V

Required Professional Designation / Certification
+ C" s3 W0 b/ w% }• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 8 O* e P# ^% Z( Q+ m8 a

Required Experience + m" g- l% e! O0 Y+ U; p) M
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 1 I e/ M; M& A, c
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
% P& U& b/ k: Cabilities; & K' Y F! J& r( |' B7 q
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, |1 n Q0 X/ S: X. o
Networking and Fundraising;
