Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and ( W2 _! |( x+ ^ \) r# a& V/ u! f
execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
! H- u$ y4 c6 ]8 Z+ V; m+ Hthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
; H1 r! }# P( B0 F7 z+ V) m2 @the Board of Directors; # O" z! x% j0 u/ j# p+ I
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations : c8 d7 K& S5 b+ g8 w2 I* E" l
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 3 {9 ? c3 O4 K9 I
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
6 T: W8 v* x9 o0 @+ e, y. d• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and : B7 N& C: }( Z' D9 c( Q$ R. O5 @
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by , A& x/ U6 q! ~- g" i- Y. X

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
6 H4 B! g0 O7 J% H/ c+ F% f• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
) D; {, B/ Y l- I; ithe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 9 S3 L5 J: u* p0 {$ |
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
7 h) e, v: ~& i2 K6 dchanging needs of the organization and community;
' F4 B$ l' k2 W; r/ J1 T• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
4 R# A) n+ Y' S# d: p- T& ecommitments;
. u2 K1 p9 `; x4 ^! B; I( k• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 0 C' M7 E! i2 Z& {0 c! h
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
1 m3 P: @0 x# k( ]* [5 dselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
% H8 K9 {! G! w& x( K• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 4 P3 V9 j# O3 N$ Q
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 4 H, M4 A; S! |- `% Q/ t1 j/ C
effectively and positively represent the association;

t0 s# |9 E& l/ w g• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
- l4 d" ?. ^2 G0 c$ z/ {7 ]the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
) J9 l0 }9 B2 g0 F/ I/ d• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
1 G1 c9 Z2 R+ A$ C' |performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
0 @: K* {3 ^$ h y2 z' W( Rthe forthcoming year;
8 _+ N( I7 J7 h9 T% J3 `• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ) d# _8 U% y8 {" C2 m1 ~
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ; X& t4 b7 P9 ~+ m7 R4 F+ a) a

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification 9 j) [) l# R: r% w% ]
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. & @) C& i( z, L

Required Experience
# g5 f6 W4 ^" c6 o• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
3 ~0 [: ~) R" [7 o* b• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 9 t5 a+ o& `: y, n y
abilities;
# v3 A+ O- C/ a" O ^6 Q• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
, @. Q D2 n; b7 G4 VNetworking and Fundraising; " w0 E3 e( O& y
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
