1 y& f9 Z5 z- B; u1 @% GReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
; q1 E1 `% p; ?+ Y' }execution of the YWCA Strategy : @ }) J7 W, c) J( M

Specific responsibilities include: % i3 b, ]" e; | F

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
5 u" ~! L& Y7 qthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
: Q+ w# |1 q o1 \the Board of Directors; ; ~$ R. e/ h$ b( [: u: V
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
( c# Y, N3 ?# }including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
' {. @' r, n) {# y9 S* ~3 nenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 8 Q+ t" a; l+ P
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
* j# k2 G9 l+ O1 Eobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
. } W$ i8 Z; ~& I1 jthe board; 7 J) ~$ {3 ]; k O8 W& U
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
5 _* V4 d3 e2 e7 e! n7 l0 l• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion % A& B5 b' v$ j2 a/ @% O: ^
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
7 S2 R9 ]5 e0 p6 h• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
4 d b+ b4 X. k$ ]changing needs of the organization and community; ! w' A$ }. F! U
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
( v* c& s h* l8 B8 _; ?4 W4 Z# lcommitments; / o) U& M1 {! k* y( |. }
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 1 {. Z b/ E3 s/ ~" f
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
$ O6 B6 C' M% |' _, G& [selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
* q+ m& b) n4 t* ^# g1 e• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
L5 `5 }% N- f1 o3 H9 U• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
4 f# o. {! P- F0 u9 E2 L$ zeffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 3 j0 n% ~, u$ l- y1 b+ Y
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
# a$ }/ Q9 y' l, p6 r• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
. _9 C3 |3 M/ D9 n' c" pperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
& B1 X$ F" }. E+ J$ nthe forthcoming year;
e" x) j8 q; a1 H# }& `. T9 C• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical I# A7 F+ Y; W- T
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

# F$ N. V. ]" j2 k7 u• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 1 J; f5 s8 |$ T7 S3 b0 M9 @, p
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
4 ?% R) c! k% s) }: N/ E5 ^abilities;
( n' d! M* ], t$ k0 \* k8 w• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, & G! s' R. R' L- L8 n1 g; K* }
Networking and Fundraising;

centered perspective.
