• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of + J; x; T- q: D0 t
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
( s1 C8 Z& C+ T2 N7 A2 [& Ythe Board of Directors;
* p* Q1 G* H4 E( o8 @0 D• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 2 k- _9 A1 Z0 D, p6 f# f& O# ]
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and + V9 a$ ?5 q4 _" |6 E- Y
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by & B% R4 K. n' X
the board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ; C- M; W C3 s4 `/ ?( z. h: G
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; . s# j$ T X" l
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the , q) m$ V; e6 V$ L0 C
changing needs of the organization and community; ( M- l; [8 E% O+ v9 @
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ) V4 {- J/ e! E3 O
commitments;

• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
. E) C9 h) S+ I+ e: [+ {% dselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; " K5 Y. ?+ O o) S: \
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; , z' p. G2 [- Q0 M
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to ; N! D, t$ N9 b9 h7 b% m
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ) c+ ^# g( ~# e: s" \
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; ; O8 l" R! z$ Y( d" J! N* |0 i
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 1 M4 m( K! ~! t8 s
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
5 j1 c& N; {3 @# Q( K/ ythe forthcoming year; - K9 A6 p) ^/ [1 z! R! {
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
$ I" _! D+ c. q+ b4 Wpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
9 r8 ~' \# D$ @' HYWCA Canada; and
+ r1 x9 C8 Q' @! X$ h8 J• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task 3 K, Z$ u7 A$ q5 c9 R8 U. c; J' s

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; * Y: a( O- L$ Q4 D$ g4 U8 |1 L
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
