Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and / U- j7 M3 a: T$ M8 }' k o# {2 I
execution of the YWCA Strategy 8 e# K1 W; t0 f( C8 B( n

Specific responsibilities include: # F$ ]* Q8 [& s$ x5 H

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
0 U4 O* G: S' t* B7 X7 X6 Sthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by / _0 q' O- i% u3 _8 \
the Board of Directors;
5 z! \) P) G6 \, o( V• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ( T- t# f% H6 p) H7 z3 [
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to $ {% |0 X, \! Z0 b/ [: d
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
) w5 S7 U+ R4 i• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and * _; T: x* W( K" d
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
. p# d* y4 \3 O- U% W* J• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion + z+ U! M! g7 I
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ( t8 m3 N8 W; Y
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the , |. I6 C$ ^+ d) j) c, U- Q5 c7 V
changing needs of the organization and community; 7 Q; b L L7 H) F. {
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 8 q% m( k+ v% S. M
commitments; ( Z; d3 B1 V$ P l9 M; C& l
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
" U; F2 n- X+ ~) v• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
: p( @; l0 k. a/ ]) y' t& @9 @/ m) hselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ) A, k, x+ h$ U
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
[7 [% U7 L1 n) Cthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
3 ~: ~8 I* m6 |: n3 O• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
- {: K6 V6 y: h5 H. a, |+ @3 Cperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
9 f0 u8 h& {, ? Y$ D# f hpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 5 @+ q" B, w6 |

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task , B% a6 i% c+ ^7 z

Required Professional Designation / Certification
' b x2 q) o/ Z6 x% A# `• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 2 X7 u" S+ R9 l

Required Experience 3 j& ]+ E6 v; y4 l& d+ k
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 1 G: H; b. Z5 b6 Y* M
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 3 u/ i* l. E- x( Z, c
abilities; + ~1 C" V+ {$ M# k* V; D
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
# y4 Q' ?/ T9 j' w" T: C0 H( D+ p0 \Networking and Fundraising; : u4 ^, l0 U3 X8 ?
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
