Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ( i" p" [2 `7 |
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by $ A. e/ G0 _4 T" d- p! I6 ]
the Board of Directors; 4 v |% L" V" N# m4 r
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations " x! e, M1 i4 c& }; z: m
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 5 A+ r4 _% d4 G0 m* S
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
/ d3 M! z% j9 ?0 e/ n2 C7 k• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
( g, R; o, s3 @$ a/ f' {4 ? \objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
" C3 v$ ?8 F. U+ @• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion . y+ F, y J/ J& |; t5 v
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
( B, j5 B6 k9 S t; o• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue : \! K+ H K' V E5 E9 B: o0 e3 J' G
commitments;
. A- D; _+ S0 X" G0 I& |• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 3 g+ m+ ~7 ^% S& l! I
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective / \- a3 Y9 u- q
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to ! H2 S, e7 Q' X% r
effectively and positively represent the association; % V7 u" o: Y0 H X0 R

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
) B: [1 O! L2 V* Zthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; * r' z, Q% Y: J U# ]3 m, k
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal . D" {/ ]0 c# a. t+ x! |
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 8 g) D! c* d9 s: Y+ O* q% S( h- ^
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification
, w9 U9 Q9 G+ |& J x5 l• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

0 S' c% j# G& @: |% G• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
; E9 t7 N1 a! u1 z1 |7 J• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
! ^1 a6 P5 O. i2 [9 [abilities; + t5 y* S( g* U+ [. z5 Y& K' U
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
$ e. D/ c/ n2 m: P; VNetworking and Fundraising;
/ _- |1 N6 ]1 S- N• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
