Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and # \/ B8 C1 w' @( ?
execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 0 l. n/ b. B! q: L2 y
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
) T7 o% T1 `0 v/ l3 m+ Nthe Board of Directors;
1 B2 Q. I! @% Z3 x; Y, r: R6 l• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ! q! l5 l5 s( {/ Z/ T+ v
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ; o' m& e ~ w, C3 b% V
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
' F" a, ^# \5 o2 ^8 C• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
: \( ?, I8 C) oobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
. o" m. n' M4 }5 c: u) x) L( f- _• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 0 l. U% C2 S0 C
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
6 A; o2 @: `0 \0 e: x• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ( w2 E- ? L* `; w7 C
changing needs of the organization and community;

commitments; + E* A$ x" W- j
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
( y2 X# h/ v9 V( F' h! ?, Q& P• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 3 C) L# I1 a# i# E! ]7 U8 c
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
$ I: I4 j% `' c1 c# x• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; & g5 p( D( {- o _, e( d) H% X
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
" c% K6 o8 b3 Leffectively and positively represent the association; ' m% b) f2 L1 d4 P+ s2 k
5 A6 o1 l! B2 T$ B( c$ a/ o3 F• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring : n) l; `7 u2 k( F r& ]" \
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 9 {" ?# i2 ~% ~- S8 o, H7 r
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
* S; M( w1 [3 N- V. @4 @performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
% R4 n- M, C9 G# i; |& w7 Gthe forthcoming year; 2 [ l7 B0 V& h
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical / A1 w# P8 |& |0 P& r, }5 |
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Professional Designation / Certification
" Q! F* [7 {5 T) d' |% a, G• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience 4 S' l$ I4 V( D! q9 c* }
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
f9 w( V& v/ J7 H# `8 ]5 \# E• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
0 B! w6 k# P8 z: L& q2 eabilities; 3 a# Y3 D$ O, J% k+ x7 S+ I1 E0 Y) }
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
7 m) A) x1 A YNetworking and Fundraising; 2 l# c/ \7 ?' k" p$ B
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 1 f+ i# w& G" O# [4 v
and financial statements; and 1 P6 z: @( {. t9 S! x- `; p0 V
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women # p3 C9 a2 M8 s' C1 R' {
centered perspective.
