Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

' l. M' o8 J# z2 W- V9 P( A• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
, l$ |, Z' w% G6 }2 p/ K4 \the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
+ O) J8 Q u2 Ithe Board of Directors;
4 l! Y% ^' p! t• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations % t# _3 a9 q1 c) q9 N: f# P
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
! r( J) f) m S! A/ F4 s& D2 Benable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
6 W& s" r" F. D! p• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 4 K+ y8 O* a1 B; e5 Q
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

' d( v) V a2 G, L3 l2 j• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion + @3 a$ X1 {4 G5 ?: R
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
% a: A+ ]/ T3 X, G: J% L• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

' Z6 ]) s* n2 R7 p$ h4 f: K• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 9 r. Q. o: W* P. G

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
. @# n g9 W5 f- ]3 _+ k& L• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ) x, V, R. _# [6 [7 b3 q; H
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 9 q1 Q7 s. h4 i+ m; U
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
# o# U ?& _4 O2 A# p• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to * m" ?4 d8 M& M* K1 ?( d: _' M
effectively and positively represent the association;

$ f( t3 k* @7 W+ ?' n/ M• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
2 F3 C* i. G. Z. T( r/ a4 \$ hthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
! D" J+ X& {0 G4 Q3 T• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
' _, f9 x# h5 j1 ?2 c/ I" ^4 v/ Cperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
1 w& G" C6 q, \the forthcoming year; 6 x0 r3 P: S# a3 Q P+ p- \# Y
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
* _' \/ k7 n9 _ cpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of # G/ v0 `7 ^) M+ H. D

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; # \6 M/ ` X" N- Y4 I# @: y
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
