Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
9 W# `8 _) D: C& v$ f; zthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
! V3 l4 b# t7 \ o4 dthe Board of Directors;
$ c p+ Y" y3 D4 y. z( p! G• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
2 T- q9 d' C- p1 k3 _including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
1 u& s8 f! U; K2 O! Qenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
: B, X% b9 E/ u- e Z2 ?8 k) e• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
; J1 d% J* Q6 A, {) ^objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
5 E# R G- d, x `0 M. p/ m/ `the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
, l( ~ d( c. r/ e1 K• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ' L1 ~9 r/ f; k* z) d
commitments; 7 n9 ]) B/ ]) s. Q- `4 e
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
- ~- z$ W1 q: w6 L# a• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
) f5 ~# r% T4 bselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
! D( Z+ Z& q. x' D7 w7 F' C• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; $ l" J+ _% R9 d% w+ o5 V5 s5 ?
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

& q8 |9 z& M4 ^• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ! I, ~2 D% G6 m7 X9 {" |6 b" J
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
% P/ o0 _' ?" |• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
$ g. g* z# Z r6 y& _. dperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 6 p. y3 v' u2 {
the forthcoming year; ) \' o4 H, v0 G _6 E, `
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
( j; R3 o. l4 n9 y% Fpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ) A. w3 ?8 r O. J0 G; Y
YWCA Canada; and ( Q* H8 O9 c4 b: }

Required Professional Designation / Certification
! Z- _: P9 i7 o- ]8 L• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 0 H& w |& X8 F) Y" y. d4 S1 ^( n
; y; @2 ]: E$ Q$ kRequired Experience
8 z5 a. ?2 Z! c/ r• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
/ `; ^8 e+ S- l% x8 I5 N) @3 p9 J• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 4 j6 N o! y/ \& Q! T" _
abilities; - k4 y: z8 J! G8 e+ S
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
