Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
" l3 {1 K- S [& `+ N5 bthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
5 [6 ]0 f0 z: u( p# |the Board of Directors; 4 c4 q$ Q- v" h2 o; \8 @, X
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations , t* ^& o1 u9 b$ g; z: E% c
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 9 _7 W0 ~, R7 }" y. _" s( I+ }0 H
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
% L+ T- q1 ^& Q. A9 g: N8 v& I/ W0 P• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and : _7 j1 S8 ]% a5 G% g: N$ E4 a
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; " P' ^- d/ v2 d. e
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
& u) m3 e" o1 O; @the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; * Y" ~" B! S* t( F2 o0 D9 V- @
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the , W$ e6 V8 ?6 _5 F8 T# e1 N
changing needs of the organization and community; ; u/ t0 C3 z5 g
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 8 `! J. H4 ]5 A- ]7 R# U2 c+ |
commitments;
" e5 I$ d6 c; |0 [( D1 b# c• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; - C0 u3 F5 k N! K; ^7 Z1 F4 E
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 1 P; B9 z$ ~$ {8 K' J0 ]8 b. x
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; " A( q: M" t) g2 D$ M8 n
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ) n; Q9 |! y g' ?
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to * f; f% ]( }" X }. x- w
effectively and positively represent the association; . M0 Q: Q) _% U, ]% O) z9 h

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring # U' n5 f' E% z- v& ~& S
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
/ ?6 [9 J" a1 I* x* r7 N) O• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 6 R- R$ I2 @6 ^0 t. p' k' Z
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
+ U, ]; X3 b+ t" I8 s5 z% T) Sthe forthcoming year;
, u7 X5 ?6 X, Z a. Y" O# }5 g• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ) v8 a* w& J% k6 _- ~+ w+ M
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

2 _ d' o1 l% |; G• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification " O n% K/ O: c& E4 Y
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
( D0 F9 G4 w8 f& \• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 3 S, v5 R1 H7 p( P8 J/ e9 X8 @
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
/ s4 e, C# T R5 C8 T! babilities;
% i+ y- `1 Q0 i; N) s# z• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, " E, A6 e" {1 [
Networking and Fundraising; % P2 Y/ l1 c1 ?4 q9 @3 I
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
