The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Specific responsibilities include:

5 n) K: [ q- {4 othe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 6 U0 u$ J7 i+ a- L( [8 m
the Board of Directors;
3 ~& F! M. A9 D% k$ o3 ]& b, |% J' [• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations " Z @+ O! {% R" C2 m
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to # z' R7 z4 Q$ p# r
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; # H V" m! y& ?6 s5 U" D" x1 Z
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
+ D3 ^8 A2 h& A6 o" ^, bobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by - l. o, y- E) \1 T2 D/ c8 v& j
the board; 4 b: A8 z5 ^( l- i5 Z$ `4 T
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
; ]% y8 n, x/ K• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
( b) g4 \9 i2 M/ w3 Z7 ]6 hthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
4 `6 l4 C) C+ P• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ! L4 [7 |: F) }8 ?7 E2 L; G
changing needs of the organization and community; ' v# B3 c- v4 _6 J. h
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
% ], Q/ M3 P& w3 s$ icommitments;
, g$ M5 ~) C: Q# T1 r4 c7 m0 @• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 2 v+ Q1 t9 v# I' ^3 D! E* |8 {: e
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 1 F2 q" U2 J4 m1 F3 w
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
+ C0 o* q1 n% G8 @+ q7 Z5 H• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
7 \9 r" q- H, O2 K) athe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 9 e7 `* n' r B3 T; j# ~
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
8 C2 S# b- j+ L2 a/ _- m1 m+ i ?performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 3 P& u. u7 z# M, K, @2 |
the forthcoming year; . d; z4 T/ V" c
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
7 H: O8 R% i4 |+ xpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

" ?8 K( n5 f1 g2 d3 f• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;

and achievable with realistic timeframes;

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
9 s8 f# v0 A9 P( [• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 6 H! h7 M# K( `
abilities; ) e( W( K. A, B& K" a$ \3 d8 I! B
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
, c- x$ t h, y z: ZNetworking and Fundraising; " f F$ X$ a" U6 Q
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting " p! K0 O+ h4 q. t- ^# z1 K
and financial statements; and
5 {& J" c2 C) b K3 v• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
