Responsibilities

( E( Q' n; g7 Qexecution of the YWCA Strategy ( V1 n' l9 `) Y, \' t% W; T

8 h: a5 G! F N3 r• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of + x- [5 t* n' k! B
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

2 x5 f, K+ H8 I# C- B! V. x! X% R) s• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ( }- v5 ~8 ?# c- J* `
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ( y8 S9 H N* g( F
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 9 G* ~$ w# C6 X
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ) j, n$ w6 q1 W) ?# [& k$ h$ ^
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
3 {# v3 }" \ ]% D9 C1 P• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the - t& t$ W- _& G% U; a! C/ w6 W
changing needs of the organization and community; # E" z* d$ s$ R' [ ^2 t) K! K
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue + _1 y! E' w. R& Y- q8 l
commitments;
9 n- n6 P; T* n/ \• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
0 n, y1 n5 Y7 q" `: B• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
0 N# G( A9 w7 y! Z) qselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; $ d- [: ^2 F |! l& H# ?: W
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
! ~7 Z: q- A! l F• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
6 k0 d! ?) K) Ceffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
B$ G- ]9 G, u+ v4 ^) xthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; ( r7 F# ~# M0 v
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
& f% K4 v: N( o: y5 D0 pperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED , ~. P( J0 s" c
the forthcoming year;
% e& Z6 ]2 x! m( y7 x• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
I# }: Q/ m0 F* C2 M1 y) upractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of . h: U# z. i' ] p& C5 X2 o7 l

Required Professional Designation / Certification
6 p9 h" V# M! `* @& [# D& @9 u% z• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.
( T; ~+ Q- A5 p1 W0 l 8 i6 g; C, O$ W( q
Required Experience
) T5 B+ x0 M! E3 M1 q• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
: M/ r7 f G6 v* i# ^9 p3 s• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
$ B0 @# d' u; `; P% pabilities; 1 M& f4 {/ D. \/ Y- x# u
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
& h5 M# k* x; E4 g5 r1 o( nNetworking and Fundraising;
! M! f, S1 F: `* F' v2 o• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting + v) ]. X9 }6 q. B
and financial statements; and
