Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and ~6 ]) o6 R2 t) l8 g+ p" Z- X6 Y
execution of the YWCA Strategy

9 h8 z1 p, X, ]& u• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
: V8 \( W& q% [ Y7 Z' Sthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
0 B" D A8 m9 J1 mincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to " C! ]2 ]) Y( n
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ; Q. F1 W. ]% v/ t4 C& z7 \, B4 r: i
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and " m- r0 Y# n: S$ g
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 9 V l% R" T2 z
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
$ y1 q/ m9 |5 E3 {the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; $ U6 n. a; v. z; a+ [0 |. [
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

) q2 f t0 ~* |' ~. }% E# i• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue $ b& S- t' r& s4 W3 t( k0 y

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 2 c( K% Q) O( a4 w d' q) R0 f# ^6 o
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
/ S, w( J8 V" i' [: \9 Tselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 0 g, ?7 C2 U2 C9 C k s5 [
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 6 i2 S+ S6 g' L% G1 }6 |9 @
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
) _9 E2 \5 T l* G7 Z4 L4 Eeffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
: q, I! |% N! h% y- ?' i+ ithe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
/ s' v( i5 [/ \8 u7 m) q• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal # z u- w) \1 C
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED * p. x5 {! c5 b6 O* f
the forthcoming year;
! X _5 m; |+ m9 F M2 q8 B• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
* R# p& N3 j" n' d* b9 ypractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of . P G6 i6 v; l) o: H2 q" [

0 w) Q( o; k3 x" W! L& o• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
! n% O6 C& A" q1 k3 K; q• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
7 B1 d( D$ v3 y& H* J5 W5 Tabilities; 3 `" G {6 f% O; X- m* y: `
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
V" f! N1 r! [8 N" c- D, MNetworking and Fundraising; ! O$ B5 w6 G" P% ^
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 4 @& p3 a' y4 { f4 r, P7 z& w
and financial statements; and
