Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
( N2 Z" [( m, \0 o" Xexecution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
4 b/ b6 U+ N/ |2 g" x% q. {the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
; X3 L& [( m$ k; X+ dthe Board of Directors; : L, o+ m& d9 f6 M0 @5 b
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
) E& t1 G; ]5 Kincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
; o/ X$ l2 Y; ~9 |; c+ x4 X+ Penable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
9 E" o* z& W! b" g! I% P• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and - A, k9 K1 q# n
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
5 b* i% A1 L3 a7 B• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion , [' p5 M1 a" ?9 D+ g. I
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 3 H: Y7 ^$ H5 a. t
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 3 ~$ E9 C5 R/ @8 e
changing needs of the organization and community;
l' [! F7 n; Q& f• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
7 T: ?9 |. }8 ?2 j* P. r• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
3 |& U. m2 u1 K! @7 P2 Y$ {' `selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ( x1 m; z+ @, I4 X( n, [0 G
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; : e" H( P& t {. B
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

* J3 l: W6 ^# Z( W; s• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring & T P, e7 x$ G$ S8 W- Q+ n
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
8 u" v7 r/ N7 o) k• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 7 p7 T% D- P3 x
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED : A& L+ ]% \6 h% u5 T
the forthcoming year;
7 g: s( y1 L) [6 i$ K- p' ?9 m• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical / ?: ^% i1 E3 B5 P& Y3 d
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ) P& N) S( v3 a: [- m

Required Professional Designation / Certification
q1 `$ `4 g! u v8 J; X. L• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience ) ^7 C( m9 E5 F" }( x1 o5 E/ u
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 4 A) R( R1 n9 `4 E
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
# a1 ~- w& S1 }6 N0 y! babilities;
+ ^; w6 U' n; z1 A• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
