Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 0 y" L% A ?( s
execution of the YWCA Strategy , v( E# s* i; }5 S* ?

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 4 F4 }$ K( J# P6 M L9 f1 [9 C
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by - X" O" E0 [* w/ B" e; y
the Board of Directors; # b; E [# n3 P j" I* J! C: F
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ! m) E6 }- |1 r8 y S4 d3 w
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to - {5 y; q( k& H8 T
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
7 H7 p" W3 }* s* L; B% ~! F- R: m• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and # v, o5 y# H2 z0 e/ J$ h
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
' G- X( S( E0 H0 a" X# x• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 8 r7 ?0 D; \- H* x
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
' N# D1 l8 _/ } @• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
( w. W6 q4 h L5 y3 jchanging needs of the organization and community; ' P4 H& i8 ]8 U" j- {
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
. o y# Z/ Y6 rcommitments; / g- [0 R5 p- O! ~0 I
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; , N! B; L9 b, j6 m1 Q
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
$ e9 ^) i: t! W& R; }( D5 H$ |selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
* [) s, P6 y3 f O• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
! g# `+ h) K3 h$ p6 o" k0 `: r8 {• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

! d! y4 x9 S a6 ]) N& X$ b9 V• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ; m! s9 F3 O1 p4 ?; |
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
/ t, }' h5 g, Z5 U c/ f• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
: I1 B& }5 _1 q- n5 Nperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 7 ]9 v Y, \. ]# A7 n
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 3 Q+ i* {& G6 {9 y
YWCA Canada; and

Required Professional Designation / Certification
5 N: m8 w9 L7 k4 y) U• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 1 Q% O% e- ~, H4 i/ ^+ x/ D

Required Experience
$ f8 U* q9 ]2 }" U; n• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; # \; R4 L! ^ \8 h; @
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ( T; F/ h9 d4 n6 i
abilities; 6 ^, t, t+ Y2 f: W' A: s% n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 3 A% f& l3 C6 e7 G1 z- K
Networking and Fundraising;
* |' L* O d }. E0 Y: S• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
