Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 4 L, P e/ I5 U# Q
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by $ x) D, Z( \( T
the Board of Directors;
& d) N0 K1 ]' k/ z. l& q' R7 b. p% O• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
]3 q& j" z: b/ V* B9 u- u) x& sincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ( H }, c1 o# p9 q" }
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 2 V' h* E9 {+ m1 _6 W) v# h
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ( Y% b' X" ]! q7 p4 c& s
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by / h6 S! j- }9 D1 R) z" m
the board; ! f0 R& ~6 _. s, y. v ^) h
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
* h: f8 V: L1 `% v# R5 f P• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
* ?' \+ E6 M6 xthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 9 ^( I b6 n* z% ?3 b& o& T, B
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
, K8 \9 t: K, d* o' {7 R1 {. Nchanging needs of the organization and community; . C* K9 g8 x m2 p* N+ J
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue . {* a* y7 u9 C+ O: y
commitments;
* w/ t: l" X; E6 Q9 y0 [• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 6 I) @- d3 I& [
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
7 M' v# \5 I" uselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
( X/ O( e" u; P2 ?• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
$ S4 o7 v7 r/ h( s* ?8 m* r% a4 e6 Wthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; & Z$ o2 D8 q- m$ X
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 1 u5 q6 @3 a- {: I
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 3 a6 M( x, J1 n u: l
the forthcoming year;
5 ]+ z! N9 H0 `4 ^* n0 w• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 3 x. o& @7 C) B
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Ability to develop and understand organizational goals, objectives and operations;

6 G4 ]- q# A( S Required Professional Designation / Certification
4 u! c. I6 H- t: K6 G A3 ~+ I• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. # @6 Z$ f, p$ ^3 ^3 B
( g! C; e3 {) V7 yRequired Experience 3 b0 d4 Y$ ^* l
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
$ |) k- i% y0 u; H6 u `( `• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ! C* ]$ j% ^2 v
abilities;
% k! h& W) ]" _, Z• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 7 n) s) P7 \- p8 c+ q3 Y) o
Networking and Fundraising;
% t. Y0 m }* G( Q• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting % [0 u0 w7 }3 Q0 I* p* a
