• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of : y5 a. \! E3 O: k
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by * L" \' T% Z% M7 ?, f
the Board of Directors;
H. i V* n0 b8 X, x0 w! O• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ! K: Y& D y, K% H2 @
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
U" G2 J- Y; Eenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; / T* n; O; |! X: z7 k
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
$ ?4 j% X0 U0 \# \objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 3 f' \! b& R: _5 F. e$ M1 ?( a
the board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 8 B- J3 j" @: X/ V$ Y
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ( Y" Z: g: V1 b/ N3 z7 n6 W
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 5 p$ z5 X0 N* J: A
changing needs of the organization and community;
# Y, x: k0 g& r2 @• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue : R/ l1 q5 p" B* V

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
; \; i% ]6 G3 \# P* Q% y• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
! W+ u/ \4 h( v R- c0 cselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; , U) T8 g$ n; [ ~4 P# B
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 2 ?7 D: p9 x d# M7 W. j+ c
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to $ y# J- {& e/ ^ q. M' P/ Z
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
% P$ x% t& |' d d" fthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; . F+ @/ P5 S8 ^9 l# b) [
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal & o( q5 _% X1 p) m9 m) Z) \0 P
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
! x6 G4 J8 ^0 J+ n4 r, athe forthcoming year; ) b7 v% D0 u5 r. y
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical " |" U' [& o) u! u7 ^& M
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
& u0 g& d: R& XYWCA Canada; and
5 t' ~( Q: T9 N• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task ' A) Y4 Y Z, n; n- c
Forces.

Required Professional Designation / Certification
- k4 p7 i/ y9 X. x3 r• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience 3 O1 k3 C0 O9 n4 X# X
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; , V2 M/ C ?4 ]. m( U2 ?: V
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
& O' g7 J" j& X' b- ?abilities; 3 t! R. p: e0 m+ Y( {
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, $ F* n, s1 |0 C( r/ V4 j) ^+ [
Networking and Fundraising; " L' G# L8 [; C- B7 ~: K0 Z
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting . @& q& E. ~: ]+ w! X5 Q+ P

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
