this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA + n& {6 D& |; D2 g' i2 C I6 a( U

9 {- ^) l h8 y9 IReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and b; v2 T9 b, b; t) G
execution of the YWCA Strategy 1 {/ G/ e! C) |2 ~. s; D

Specific responsibilities include: " c/ g0 U; K# c/ \( K) ^* M7 g0 b
+ e: n& N4 L6 n7 _• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of + t2 A" M! r" j. J Z$ c
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
! S( i: l0 `, c9 E* o' Kthe Board of Directors; & y" j% V6 |, _$ P# n+ [& [. f: z3 d3 V
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations + Y( C" y3 @3 _1 ~) _: L
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
7 {1 j. N7 w Q, Lenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
+ T; @' Y) |2 X* f# z• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 0 k. j2 ]* W* a3 k- L" u
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by # Z0 c4 l3 d G' l# o g
the board;
" U/ W# k3 T0 w9 d• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;

the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 0 U* c4 u( b5 n; N
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
5 [5 N/ j ?# j9 P$ W* rchanging needs of the organization and community; & r# a" Z9 d( I# U' n
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
" C4 C6 @1 n7 hcommitments;
. \- ~" C1 a5 S4 f/ T d• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
0 y( g: o+ w+ C% v3 @4 l1 f• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
! z4 O' b# G2 sselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
+ L/ M; j, @8 C, t# i* f• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
4 [# _' `0 \, B0 l! r8 s• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
. Y4 O, k- J# T( ^, Oeffectively and positively represent the association; P5 O$ c- q! c; J6 i

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 4 V) d6 x; C; m$ M- n G$ R3 z
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
: N; q* G! F2 x• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
% W9 q% n& F) Nperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
$ B; s" I) [1 y L" x) E% _the forthcoming year;
- ~& P1 ^; P* }• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical & m0 C, H9 h3 t
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
! u4 A$ K' p' YYWCA Canada; and
+ {7 K9 O$ P+ n9 w+ ~* S: P• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task ' G8 m2 g; ~& s4 G; {- y' M

Required Professional Designation / Certification ; |+ V* j5 P! v. c2 z# s; m
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 2 A# l1 O6 u, M3 k

Required Experience : P7 u" i$ l& D1 y6 `8 @0 u
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
5 Z F- ?4 ^8 \- @' P7 r# O( v• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
% C5 U* u" V& r' A2 xabilities; ) Z* O5 o# F1 {6 s
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
. c1 t+ G+ D. ~0 HNetworking and Fundraising;
# ~% m$ L* Y5 q e3 A• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
# J3 A( B$ X+ g5 ~and financial statements; and 1 e+ S/ L+ @, K* Y
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
