Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

+ N% g3 Z' r/ e6 r0 U• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
' ^* l! s& z- b! E; t$ i/ l; Ithe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 2 C7 m# v% F U5 f: y1 o& z1 k

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations

• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
$ Y) R% o( n. H M7 Wobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

( G9 t* z0 M4 x% H8 `2 O& ], J% J• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
+ N- D3 m' _" @# a& o7 r/ Q" J• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
5 k, g# X3 ~5 A- w9 xthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 1 I9 a- \: W' B, s0 ~
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
6 H1 g I7 d4 d8 t4 e V* q7 vchanging needs of the organization and community;
) M `' x# j# w5 s0 z4 y• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

0 @7 [1 H0 I* r& d4 O; [• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
4 p7 R+ T& {. f( Q- H• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
5 Q! j; [; ?" @3 p/ g6 A1 G% l$ t) }1 ^selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
% I! _5 |' q; ]$ {8 Q1 L• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ! A( X2 u" T8 g A+ X
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; f. @/ L9 C0 W& |& |7 X+ B' J
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
3 B4 c2 K- x2 N) \6 S$ f- kperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED & T0 h2 ]' T" X% [3 }+ S
the forthcoming year; : Q+ Z& o, M& @; B( Y
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
* }; T% t3 y' d6 G ~5 G" B1 Bpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of : d8 A" W7 f( U) s" o* @
YWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; - X8 \9 B" W( a( l6 V }! T
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
* z8 m3 v5 A n! sabilities;
& j( G! e M# [1 Q/ x$ m2 Q• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
+ U, C' s* i. n" `+ V& }, a) TNetworking and Fundraising;
