Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and ! W3 J4 b4 d$ o* @8 U6 K( Y/ a
execution of the YWCA Strategy ( h! E+ n v Q; c
4 D' Y6 w) W3 R6 Y" TSpecific responsibilities include:

( g( O, ~, O3 x8 x• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of # {/ t! \4 I* E/ w
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

; `" i. ]; u' u( [• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 6 E( t" \' W" g6 S9 t
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
7 ^ G- ?4 B- s8 b4 V4 p- Fenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
$ j2 x$ g. S+ F3 H+ a0 l: ~• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and $ U8 V) `: ~& {: B' m* p$ c v- g8 H
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; & w2 ~7 C/ i7 c8 v+ u! _0 e/ d
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 2 ?. h: n$ d. c* i
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
3 { T0 i* R4 H. h• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

' h) S J1 r/ S2 y: U: B• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective

3 p3 j, Y, S1 K) o- C6 ]& h5 m• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

, O+ x+ c0 U+ Z( H7 n• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
! D; V5 D2 A4 O. C* Uthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 3 ^( E* Z" B+ y
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 7 s! W/ ?, P- ~- ~7 t7 b! O) P
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED & p, d3 C- @; V9 U, f0 B
the forthcoming year; ; X. h+ P$ i4 c( [: w/ X
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ' o8 X; P0 T- L9 B( j
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of * H; N: I. ~* z- L$ P( ^4 f
YWCA Canada; and 9 V q0 Q6 v$ ^

Required Professional Designation / Certification
?7 @: t' }/ j% Y& ^" |& Q• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

! n9 P: Q+ D) c% j9 a• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
3 N4 b6 i4 ~% D5 g" H• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation * ] T6 y# S" X* j: ]+ @! C

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 3 `9 D6 L0 M7 _" a" U! u
Networking and Fundraising;
