The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 1 p% p& T% s7 u. F

t4 m5 A/ } j5 J$ _ ^• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
2 N2 A. a0 [1 m/ O, d; V; cthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

1 ?7 C* L: L/ Y- B! a• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
1 ^% T2 g5 A/ Kincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
, V1 h% P0 c; [. S2 yenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 7 h0 R, ?* U% f u2 t
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 1 M+ J& }+ V& G6 |9 X
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
1 Z* l0 e8 u- s6 s+ r4 c9 Nthe board; ' M1 j* f( @ t# T4 {
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
/ U. E! @" d, b Q• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
" o/ B4 M% g, |, } }the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; & w1 U X1 D5 v7 b7 U
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
* K4 F/ v/ o2 W) [9 `7 Echanging needs of the organization and community; 5 q, i5 e! k1 B( x1 P: v6 E! w; n* \
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 8 }6 V6 |0 @- _* P1 A
commitments; ) ? b0 E) a- ~3 c; R' Z+ j# Z
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; & M3 [- S9 v; E. _" N1 w! \
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ; p6 {! [+ i( E. ^7 F
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
7 r) [9 u& l$ U" E/ X• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; . V3 X6 E$ h k, F8 H
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to * c" o+ C# D _5 p. J1 c
effectively and positively represent the association;

$ x8 q) x# ]4 U5 \( `• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring

0 I- f+ I6 X1 ]• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
! V: H! v% z: O5 F: qperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 5 |& b; {3 B7 A7 o+ M
the forthcoming year;
% W' l. N' m" `- x# `% j, C- l• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical / Q ^/ [% r2 |+ m3 S
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

5 W0 D) R7 O' x• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 0 J2 H8 y& \' _8 S' M, [& P
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 9 @0 B! X b- i( S
abilities; 9 ]9 ^7 `5 B2 p4 U/ J$ @, B
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, - _$ x5 s' b, }! j% f$ V0 v
Networking and Fundraising; # k ^3 l- g. h( f$ q
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting . i( _' C$ N3 G; ^( s0 Y
and financial statements; and
