Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 5 L2 Y5 F! K2 m7 z, ~6 b
execution of the YWCA Strategy 2 \0 s. p0 ~# Y6 s

Specific responsibilities include:

8 M6 A( q2 `3 i* c/ G• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ( E2 \' J/ }9 ?8 s( L& `
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
! r' |4 ?3 ]0 N1 e K& f/ fthe Board of Directors; . z2 k0 Z* Z( v) e$ d) w
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
+ H5 \9 m; M2 l! {9 rincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
5 k# ?6 Y$ R7 ^2 q& F6 Penable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 2 B/ g! E9 ^3 W1 a) E, A8 g d
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 9 t* f, H# f- d# U0 p
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

' D: r, A/ z F3 @8 ]! J9 L• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;

the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
& n1 L8 Z" V) y+ u6 f8 m• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
9 ?" I3 Q+ r2 E2 D' w/ \changing needs of the organization and community;
% v$ n) _5 h2 c L7 I5 w8 ?7 s. g• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue % U8 @1 O$ V8 R" f& g

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
+ d4 \9 H) H# Z6 a• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
( j/ x) R2 Y/ M5 u/ q6 e0 Vselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 5 ]& D: I* Z, i- Q/ q* E7 N5 L7 _
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; # `7 d( y8 K8 A- U" c/ U2 b% ~# p4 E7 p
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
5 o$ f5 q9 T7 o J5 veffectively and positively represent the association;

) w* z/ s F1 r, d! G; Q• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
3 ^: A9 q2 e. ]( N0 z+ ^the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
) |+ i" L* x* ?5 x, b# X• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 8 a. c' f: J# L0 h6 `# u6 r
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED * m- M: j) B9 F& ?
the forthcoming year;
: h4 G, q1 u0 J5 \• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
* J6 L- N* \( K. Wpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
& @ I. m. \7 K9 WYWCA Canada; and
! W2 ^% q9 \8 ^& P. Z• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

% X- e! }. e9 S2 }• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

& W8 S8 J3 K# P• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
0 V3 @7 ~7 [5 a) W& N• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation + R8 b, d, c3 ^' C
abilities; o% H, a0 i. l e2 ~
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
- i0 s1 H. f8 r2 S" R+ D; w9 H) zNetworking and Fundraising;
- g% X( p0 e+ e7 o; X• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting ) q. V( x8 |/ c# l; p
and financial statements; and
% b0 E, j/ r& q/ t, x• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women $ O& L/ {% u! ~; f/ m
