execution of the YWCA Strategy

& i; ^ }% w. F) q9 m2 j" L a) N• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ( e3 Q+ |( e" u! e( z5 @
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ( k3 j% h! P m: R
the Board of Directors; - T' j, S: ~! v: ^
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ' r& P. A2 C2 N
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
$ K6 j$ ?6 c# j7 wenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
j( H' t- H* W• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
8 w0 G% H) M6 n- mobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ( s8 x: l; Z5 s
the board;
/ v$ \! d. i2 N+ W! @# E) w• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ! n+ D+ G. k% O) ?
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
& r$ w5 [6 D+ S. L: q G( ^9 zthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
# ?1 v; ?6 B1 n• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the z4 X( u* g, t9 K
changing needs of the organization and community; ; R. Q( J6 d) W1 Z
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
% K/ p0 l- A5 L7 n' A1 E( Dcommitments; 4 @) q4 _2 x- a- f3 q5 {& t r
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
6 k+ U; q1 q4 g' @# n2 C4 h• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
4 b+ V7 P1 k3 _. W' s- xselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
) x" b2 f9 X0 k• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
1 j) P/ m+ d V• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
2 M# V5 P! ]& j9 `7 t, aeffectively and positively represent the association; + j0 x" _$ P* u1 U) R
$ E( e+ ?' M9 z! e/ ]0 Y6 V/ O• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 4 i+ k& E! ?: V6 E" d
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; * k' X. R, r8 E8 S" {
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
4 u& T" \- T: |9 l5 hperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ! L) t, m. D; O e) T
the forthcoming year;
6 ~4 s, r, U; I6 F4 r• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
8 H' a' i2 c# v! K4 spractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
! |8 ]# q/ z/ M4 l3 jYWCA Canada; and
4 ]% @3 E" Y2 A( w4 g V% g, A8 J0 a, M• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification % H( h) k5 O, [) Q) f. D. A
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
3 ~/ F4 n; J( ]• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
/ Y5 H: f7 e7 G• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation " y8 x/ l$ O2 W
abilities; : Y/ _1 o+ Z& H0 y+ E
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
9 ~$ B3 d8 W& XNetworking and Fundraising;
1 b y& N) t2 h) H6 D' Q- G3 J8 s) ]) E• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 5 a1 Y3 B& i) _' D/ P4 j4 l- f" `
and financial statements; and
