this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Responsibilities

/ ^, o: m0 q1 Q6 RReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and - M% Q3 N' f$ E0 {; L
execution of the YWCA Strategy ( [/ ?* @/ `, o
; \- a6 I/ O* B$ [' ~Specific responsibilities include: $ I) E, Q" I/ k

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of * a) R9 n* r8 { r& K3 Z! d
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
# @7 v0 h, H- t0 M( n9 m" tthe Board of Directors; ! E* W: |. p' P# i
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 9 }- ]0 i2 w3 r3 }3 o8 d/ {
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ( c1 V7 }3 S \' L7 ]' e7 E7 z
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
/ n2 ~; D" G' \6 v5 M• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
3 S( c% T; W, f. T/ ~7 }' `objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by w, y) d, B- C, ^" t

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
' b5 ?9 I0 b+ _, ~• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ' C. J1 b4 P6 w. {# b
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
6 L, w% J; G$ N5 |$ K/ b• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ! o+ V8 z) h3 h
changing needs of the organization and community; + ?* b8 n; Y- D/ v/ n' M0 I
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ( t* |/ o" K5 @ |/ C+ a
commitments; 3 z- |4 ^; k6 n; g
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; % W- j: g* ]* m+ a
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
* g, I8 A; c2 O; _+ V' U+ Dselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
" `5 b! k7 V9 D• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
+ Z5 ^; R8 T+ f6 Z; e• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to ; b, R1 t( t2 M! E; b3 R
effectively and positively represent the association;

5 q0 n! x& w3 l7 l3 `• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring . c2 B, A6 G u1 a( n
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
0 [! G6 L$ D0 i( q+ T# B, N• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ( p5 L2 b3 g7 ~ d6 N7 ?0 f) }
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED # \$ v, ]0 w- w) u
the forthcoming year; 0 f# \* e- l. C J' l7 Q
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
9 m4 ~) ^$ o- [) n7 Q% Spractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 6 v2 q* j4 c) N, m6 l' I- Y

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. # `4 h; M& B- X7 j: ?0 Q/ l2 U7 c- _

Required Experience
7 J: M+ S) x5 H, F. K• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
& @, `1 G- {9 t) n• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation / X0 d; z3 F1 N* G6 }0 M
abilities;
; ^+ A7 k3 \! j% }4 Q2 T, r• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, & ~; T# O, l( e
Networking and Fundraising;
. a0 l8 g8 r6 s7 s- y% S• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
( D$ H/ C% P) ~' U% @and financial statements; and
