The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
) D3 z1 |3 `8 i4 J8 Oexecution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include: # F: e, i5 `7 G$ Q( l+ \5 b
- x+ ]0 x! T- F: m$ P% T; F• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 9 U$ y0 j* n. p" l
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by / ^8 N H5 t. B7 S4 o2 a* h& ]! ]
the Board of Directors;
. `! N/ o& G& f! y9 L1 k+ o c- A# }• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations $ Z/ J0 v0 {. d, c" d3 {
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 2 r& V$ y6 b, X
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; / o% E9 {- G$ [ P: d; ]
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
- ~ ^4 ?% I! V8 a) mobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
, f# w% K1 V' F: p$ W• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion " A; b' S$ Q$ K- y0 o! E
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 2 f* b4 f4 s1 R2 A4 ^ u3 O& p
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

8 b% U' U$ R8 u/ q• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
+ c6 P- S( g! s; v2 ~3 T+ l+ Pcommitments;
8 w( J5 l% H4 \+ |# c J& c• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
. K# r) k* w" I• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
: e W' c4 p& mselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
2 y( o# A+ B! S- W0 |! \5 E5 D, \ F• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
- o W6 K, v. r$ x& f$ jthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; ! @3 K" J# H J& j8 T3 ]% k
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
5 z. C* ]1 ^" v! I+ Vperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED J6 N `9 r5 o* V& C3 d2 v# r( P# V
the forthcoming year; ( z& _- B: {9 W$ u. e! |
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
) H: ^# B+ Q O* e- D# ^practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
} _' E( y0 p. o- k6 \2 Y2 E0 F- H• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ) N: X. H. `. X+ v
abilities;
