Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
h) N3 o( _1 t0 v! _execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include: 6 w! E. Z" {* }! G$ M

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
0 s# J( n2 v& othe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
1 R ]9 z6 f7 H+ I# Y0 Mthe Board of Directors;
9 B( i+ p" {# [" Q• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations & b x% |1 I' [
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
8 t( ?* ]& X) S% Z: denable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
* W9 O9 B; ?8 L• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 6 D# B' t( n1 B: q
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
( X8 Y1 v$ B) ^0 ethe board;
1 z3 X# A, b; s- O( b• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 1 I9 H1 k$ T( I( j
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 5 m9 V/ y, U8 ]0 j! ~$ N
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
2 T2 y; t% N& ?& o( r# s• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the # H9 {0 L7 _' o# y4 F4 Y
changing needs of the organization and community; % Q1 a8 K3 y2 ^+ ~% r
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
% l+ \: Z4 R8 T/ N# m6 J# Xcommitments;
* m5 p7 F1 j- P/ Z• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
8 w' ^9 {* X9 c& \; g' M• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 7 W# ?5 F: I" W4 c4 d, L/ e7 e
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
! L6 Z3 n7 _& O# @+ b( M5 O$ X• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
9 f5 W. c: O# C5 Q" i# z• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

( Z3 ~, H" E" r" j1 d2 w' D• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 7 C; d: L, n5 S/ K- w
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
i X& W! L9 b1 c2 {• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ; m1 A+ w, F2 a+ v
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

' l: h9 }+ `& u9 D• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 0 H7 C2 Q1 b! P: f4 U
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of . F1 x. o( |" X2 D$ A( Z. l* n

Required Professional Designation / Certification " k0 c$ E u; ^5 g
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

: T2 e0 ^) h/ w" ~• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
* }3 m) a; j5 R" h2 H4 E• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
" Z; {' R3 @' _abilities;
$ n3 I* O# s, J# A; J' B• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
$ N% b& K$ r' ~% rNetworking and Fundraising; ' e0 S/ x, t3 y* M! Q5 a
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
! ]1 M! F0 v: m3 aand financial statements; and N* |1 l* D' L! \* c# i5 V" n
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
