• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 8 G1 F' g6 W1 q
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ; o+ o# I4 p4 J- ?
the Board of Directors; 6 X% L& F% c# o ]6 q3 [
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
$ |0 l v+ ]' b6 ?including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to % r/ J+ S# @# ?: E2 x
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;

objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ' A% J8 Y; l. B: T& g M. h2 D. q
the board;
' _- E7 H! d* r1 O! K1 [• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
) }$ B! J x& a, G• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ; Y5 [7 ?# f4 e0 g: _. O* e
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
! W- W$ S1 [+ E• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 9 k# `4 j: D* }! W/ }& _
changing needs of the organization and community; & f& p9 D! X, ~& k P8 X/ d. U( g
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
) m! {( r2 }0 H. o3 a. f2 |4 w# pcommitments; $ V" L. k; r$ F
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
# D, O& y5 u% t. [% ^, w2 i! h0 I• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
- _+ b: L/ d9 m8 k4 F4 s* c4 v: _selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
% p/ n7 ]# l5 i( Y. ]9 B) y• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

the implementation of systems to manage these risks; ; y6 @+ E( j' I3 K
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal + L% q% v/ g$ L
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 5 C& {+ o: q7 m+ m0 z
the forthcoming year; 3 p3 d& O9 m1 z( A8 K
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical / `& P' {, o( h% G/ G" O
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 0 |9 S5 ~/ v- ?+ ]+ O0 q' x. [

Required Professional Designation / Certification
$ Z$ @& @+ c" F( y( B! W" g• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. # p* X5 \/ I5 l5 p7 G

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 0 n7 _# r9 w o
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation % ^' j0 O4 d, R
abilities; + B1 [# m$ T3 N* T' k$ u" r3 V( z
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, , X; |- G6 B6 b' u' h; `& j
Networking and Fundraising; 1 ]5 ^0 s$ I! m N) y% J
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting + r/ N! G9 [4 n9 r: T
and financial statements; and

centered perspective.
