The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

' ^. q: r+ L1 X3 p5 t8 o2 K• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of & J2 i7 B. F: g6 g* ~0 z2 Q& ]) R
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 4 ^/ M! v u; B1 z) i& {& m
the Board of Directors;

- B5 u& z% d l* |. @2 S2 n+ [including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ) D6 V# `, h3 m `: G/ X4 O5 ?
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ( o, `) @! s: M" G6 ]* {) \
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
) |! G& F+ k3 s' K$ }6 dobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

, r" H+ _8 K* @1 `- s6 ~• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
k. f3 ?: K9 t; ?$ B• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
& u o( X4 B' F6 qthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 9 k7 m$ q' M( k4 |8 N: t8 u) L
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the / Z! S7 U. x/ h, }, N2 }
changing needs of the organization and community;
- n6 @' ]- ?6 H: W0 ~" q• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
$ \+ y6 q& z* J9 p/ U; H# Ncommitments;
, s: G* T+ s: d• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 1 v$ h, F" C# S- ^
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
- H2 b" i6 N; ~8 `selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
5 V0 ]8 O ^: T; E5 R [8 e6 \! I• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 8 T6 p" k, Q& Q+ S3 z d
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
) s) |$ w* H) r- d/ \( p% Keffectively and positively represent the association; % w! A; M4 {+ [# H
. [2 ^' }5 ]" I6 l- b+ n• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
' b8 J/ ]$ j# _ X0 ~the implementation of systems to manage these risks; ( X- Y( E- I; b( P
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal * _# ~2 D; [& ]% Y8 L
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED / k% L& J, V! |& o/ K7 d
the forthcoming year; 1 R& q K# i1 ^# m; }* A! [
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical + z$ u+ t4 ?2 D+ s
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of * V1 s+ Q: J: G: H W3 x
YWCA Canada; and ; A& b/ a. b7 @/ F/ W$ k
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task 1 a i1 R+ K$ v3 H

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; R$ \( l+ Z+ t- V9 v
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

3 l. _; z8 {) p3 S p- M) U, s7 u• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 4 V( } C# [3 C1 O3 L

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting ' Q, a% J; w# T7 s& m

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
