Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
0 {, S2 R" m0 u, G( F: J0 G( V3 nthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by / Y3 h$ X' `+ q
the Board of Directors;
0 }* H9 _ M+ e* s# m! R* N+ p• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ! Y7 K/ _# w& c
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
0 k" b: K0 W2 l1 t; N; A# Yenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
3 i. F K7 b! J1 A• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 6 w. C" i0 O. \3 n2 P: \
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
) r% [9 G" T- ]2 c& j• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 4 U: @) r J# e, d9 F
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
5 z* r* h' |6 B" ^1 {! l" p• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
% a) ~8 a0 c# o _! w3 B/ I& u. Schanging needs of the organization and community; - a* d# ]. B& Y/ H) Z
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue / A7 m% j3 [1 D5 o2 {3 C
commitments;
: \5 Z4 r6 l" B \• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; - Q+ h7 k, G8 N) l3 v+ Q
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
- ]$ u; L3 b9 d1 T7 Aselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
3 I* {/ t5 L5 R* z0 b/ E( _• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

( z; n' G+ l. w1 h3 h3 F1 ?8 W7 V• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 9 V: O; g7 C t6 _) ~
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
( E- N, h* Y% O7 r/ J• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
/ W9 @5 v% R; |/ o5 }4 ?performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
& U" B3 w! Y |9 z* m. ~! R" _the forthcoming year;
, i: a6 j" x% H0 X$ f$ [ G1 E• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical % {1 P9 A- f0 [
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification * L0 c- n, C) N
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
% U/ o( b" f# _$ m/ y0 m/ G• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
) d$ y* a! d8 F) @4 p• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation , Y( D3 \# r6 E$ ` K
abilities;
) e9 c* J3 _/ E4 r C• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
5 b% J6 S) y7 W1 {, WNetworking and Fundraising;
: ?( k4 |' p, @; E6 o• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 6 i5 j0 h( F1 L7 t6 b4 u! |# J/ R
