Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
' u+ k* E4 W: p5 cincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; + R2 F' A0 j/ Z8 V' f: e& G
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 8 b2 H( E! o. J
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
( p9 W2 C3 Q; z1 |! L• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the % G( c/ I! D# Z" J5 w
changing needs of the organization and community;
8 \5 h8 l" _' r5 t# B• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 1 A% P5 @8 J' Q
commitments;

• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
; G0 e( t8 s$ ] Wselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 4 O4 t$ p: X! `" v& p' ^, G
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; * F% r) |; u: a9 ^- W" i8 X
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 5 A) Y6 {) L$ T! d% I
effectively and positively represent the association; , t! N6 |# d$ ^% T

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 8 t5 f. d; c7 d: _
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
" g& [, c2 \2 B" @' I• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal : J9 c" R# a% w' C4 B
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
; C, }0 K4 n# R1 d6 ?; G3 P8 hthe forthcoming year; / D2 y0 } [7 R L5 E
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
& v+ e5 N- O* }( A# @$ S( G1 r4 `practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 2 Q* K" ^7 i6 U
YWCA Canada; and

Required Professional Designation / Certification

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 9 H7 z9 z' N$ o7 O3 p
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 4 G9 T0 K+ d3 `& B9 F4 v% f

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, " Y% ?- u4 w: \; y2 Y) G# R- e4 C
Networking and Fundraising;
