execution of the YWCA Strategy # u3 ^1 S4 u6 M8 p

4 ?; G, W% e7 N0 e u( d& y• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
9 k4 ?9 f m! |. K6 b: f2 T* Q+ }the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by % y/ s- }' c: \5 x8 |2 Y2 B
the Board of Directors; 9 g2 R0 W( A2 I. n
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
( i) E, Q! F; E( xincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 6 z6 X+ q4 {3 K& k' g' x, S4 }0 l
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
. A& B& D, G l! {7 W, z& B* ~• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
2 O# r0 s. ~( z6 K. M: N5 nobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 6 C; ]5 ]. p( G
the board;
6 g8 o( x: y+ b1 N% S4 [" l• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
C% M6 e: I- h! w• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 9 T- O* F Y7 e7 d' X, e
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; + I6 B) @! n. V
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
( ^( G' m7 i0 ?, f8 \ ~changing needs of the organization and community;
/ Y N | o6 X• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
$ j) C. a) X; p, Hcommitments;
* w, g. }# M3 U• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ; V' M9 M8 _' i5 i! I$ k1 d
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective / X2 n/ [2 c9 ^* G0 g! i
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
/ F. P, J: |# D• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
* F+ t$ }; i& u9 u' Q- H8 X; M; Sthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 2 T, S' V% G2 J2 f
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 1 ~4 x8 W3 h2 v" ]/ D2 }
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
% {+ d7 C/ V3 L7 q# ?7 @) apractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of " D: P V7 C5 ~1 j
YWCA Canada; and ! _ }6 b$ S" i. o6 Q5 a0 F
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

and achievable with realistic timeframes;

5 `+ `/ ~* b5 K/ R Required Professional Designation / Certification
( x- i/ P) J% _8 r. c• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience % T0 R/ M! c1 {0 c4 Q
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
6 m. U: B6 a3 t• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
( U l0 E# L2 Cabilities;
3 K- \' |. e: |• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 7 u, a& h+ J$ z, B) [" u% o3 @
Networking and Fundraising;
9 [* ~+ V) q/ r# s+ P5 i* [ f• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
' Q7 Y+ Q0 x3 y2 t* Rand financial statements; and
5 i# G+ u) T7 E3 m2 i• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women 8 Y& }% U( o/ d* T+ s$ q9 M: M
centered perspective.
