Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
: J* A# D4 o s, jexecution of the YWCA Strategy # k7 a' G$ P. k* J# I

% Q1 ^* d; _+ f: e( u• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
3 _$ q6 y& W* V; {; `2 Fthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 5 x# i* V7 c; O: a; L- v9 G
the Board of Directors;
- S, U0 j0 q8 w• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations + ]( u# @# ] z# V T2 G4 Y
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to , E: S5 g0 ~* f! c' S
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; G2 V. F2 x" B1 G, `+ B& E! E: ^+ q
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 1 D6 i4 w) @+ d2 Z& j( }
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ) I9 y+ L6 J* @5 P5 |
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
8 g; {5 r4 [7 k+ h: mthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; % H0 T. ^3 M- W) l( T) v
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
( G+ Q8 D* P# C7 {+ K& h echanging needs of the organization and community;
4 c& r6 l! v" f. n/ W0 a5 Z• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue + N& T% ^: M2 `6 ^+ q: Q+ A! {/ ~

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
, O" Q8 o+ C! n3 v1 U+ X0 C• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
, d8 Y2 w% p6 s( D fselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
: G9 {' `; ^2 C7 \3 `5 c• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ) U, r8 [0 N! R9 t7 E* s" o
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; ( G; Z) q6 H X8 N2 d4 T, |
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal % k; |5 ]2 {. x( t
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
: w2 u, [6 L- H! f7 ]the forthcoming year; ; \" v1 n- c' u- q! _8 Q' d
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 2 E( Z% `$ t& T: O9 {1 P
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
$ z( A8 a2 Q& U7 b2 S4 fYWCA Canada; and
7 g$ R: e$ n* O7 r% x• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ' j2 v# i$ w' S) l3 g7 @
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
# q* c6 W# r! D$ O" s1 C. e8 fabilities;
! [' Y7 b. S8 D1 C5 g• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 3 ^' `! R8 g- [5 [6 s2 O+ @
