• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 5 l3 \, K7 g: K5 D S
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ) h6 C- q% {% S, ^( ?' l2 s; S" e1 \
the Board of Directors;
* z3 x q7 p/ k3 B! i# Z( Z• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
" m, x3 Y$ C: l# Y. D5 i4 fincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 4 b5 f4 ^) A/ O' A7 ], L
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
% Q% f5 d, l4 R1 v! d7 w% z! V• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
4 n1 @( N; \- R/ \. H [8 @7 g% A- K8 Gobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by & c. Q1 a0 C; d+ J5 n( k( F
the board; ) h9 _+ h; q% o3 M
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 4 v3 j6 _+ K/ t: J" ~( i
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion + G8 X: z, U' S; `# ~ n$ W* U; J
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
. X* \; G( C' d4 V# n( a" Q3 U+ R• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

( [! Y6 Z+ _' ~6 c7 N. N• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 3 c9 O/ A' v5 ]3 R/ ~) i* y

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
! o, y% e4 H) W( v2 D" C! F• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 4 B _4 t" J! k! g+ N
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
u5 t9 u/ y; M! u* I• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; : ~- X; a; Y9 \3 i
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
" N9 ^6 t4 o' q( `" n, Ieffectively and positively represent the association; ! X+ i1 U# |, m: T8 P

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring + Z- J( P* z/ V0 W* C8 [ y0 _
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
# J4 f# Z* O6 ?5 O: _( [9 z• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
/ t! `, q! i2 R7 y2 I4 l+ lperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ; w3 s `' V8 |7 W" _) M
the forthcoming year; 6 N' R! g$ }: T
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 5 E) E! N5 l4 o- B) _' }3 B1 Q
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of & G- r# A+ U7 F7 m" M

Required Professional Designation / Certification
* Z$ T& H: t W }• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

# F* o4 F5 j1 a; K/ z- q( B) B# sRequired Experience
, q5 k% A, p+ s) N+ ~& s• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
6 d. g" N* b% R$ E• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
: h! g: `/ s/ t; P+ Y9 O8 k% m3 s4 fabilities;
3 \* D# X$ j8 K: X• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
% m: R$ U2 m2 z/ N: _; C- {Networking and Fundraising;
8 W7 {$ i |( ]4 c- j• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting " ?1 q$ @! k7 W
and financial statements; and

centered perspective.
