Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
: v/ d6 {( _' x+ v% S3 y: Texecution of the YWCA Strategy & z5 O3 m% O ~7 n$ Q
2 ~+ C4 O4 Y2 \Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
: w1 O0 C* W! F9 [' ~5 G/ E' xthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ! a! v; E5 K2 t) l/ e) u5 U
the Board of Directors;
2 H( ~- N' o% V/ P• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations - M1 g, R3 s* j5 l
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to % ?! K% Q1 n G3 ?( n, j
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 2 z8 o# _6 x* }$ v$ f0 r s- Z( n( o3 v
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and # q. a/ I" W D% u7 K
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 9 K1 b8 r' m# f8 @% y
the board;
% I4 S5 {2 k a$ }7 J• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
/ h( Y, {4 P5 x% {4 [% z• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
& D6 ?6 e( l. K0 e1 Q4 z* gthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ) A0 c j; `! [; W. k
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the $ w$ h7 b" D) |
changing needs of the organization and community; ' u: V. \7 p! b" n: R! I2 V
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 8 M( c& j3 T: Z0 N; q) m: F8 P
commitments;
) `8 } i$ v. y* Z9 k G# x• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
' _1 O+ m4 ]& V- |+ J, G) n0 V8 c• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 5 K* K& C* m1 j/ U8 s9 {0 o
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 0 B) a/ C& l, o8 v* O" r( t
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 2 f; e! x/ W( e k0 }
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring - M4 F( o# k# ^) i0 h0 Z
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
" r1 `1 ]' f* e9 ~6 u- p. l0 Z* {& t• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
4 D8 D* Z# u& T( G' g# dperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED & o1 B u" o2 T. j
the forthcoming year;
: z% O& i9 i1 j3 O: `1 t• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
3 I. o6 E( a% ^& ]5 \ cpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
& |4 e& j: d; U3 m. u/ e• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation + m7 k8 W0 X: u; j
abilities;

Networking and Fundraising;
