The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and ( O, R1 x( _. m* l* D
execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
/ F& l, |7 o% i; Gthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
7 `( ]( w1 [8 q' p( mthe Board of Directors; 9 a, M, p6 s" k& @
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
! p2 c b3 S x! k$ F6 u4 @including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
+ q; y7 C5 \# A0 n( t% Eenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
3 j8 @, |/ h+ Y; i8 l- n• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and % ?# y3 ^% k9 G3 ? _# \
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; $ \0 ?/ n0 M: F, ]
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ) m' T8 W& X q& J9 x- H% \
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; : q& j, g0 o3 y$ H
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the " Y8 J7 z8 t! d0 i6 n
changing needs of the organization and community;
2 [+ _: a6 R% M• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 2 N3 W% D; [4 p2 {& r, L
commitments;
4 ]/ c v0 u: `( A3 p• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
6 S5 M, t& Q. u0 s7 R• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
3 R/ _" M. A1 Qselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; % K+ ~ w. J) `( _5 {( J2 I
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
6 E `5 M( ~" y# j+ x8 M• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 7 F- u* i/ v1 F0 \; A v% o
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 6 X' Z- i) T: k& i% G! n
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; & T$ T o4 @5 X A% m' Q8 r- D8 b
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal : V+ R9 k3 d; ~. R7 O1 r! N9 d" @
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
, ?+ i: f8 O: H4 a* wthe forthcoming year; ' F: J( o0 T5 |6 ^) F$ X7 r( ~
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 4 W* I4 i1 A8 e L. K& C
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Professional Designation / Certification
2 S/ f/ p; s* i. }9 g0 N• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. . x k1 _1 V* W' x7 y
% Z T# L1 e7 y) u2 FRequired Experience & G1 R! b* A; R" M; I. G* D
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
7 k* g) `" e" l# X, Y g5 M) A• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ) C* N" T, z" L+ g# T3 ?' t: s2 O
abilities; ( B1 j5 K- }6 F6 f) p# [
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, N: q9 F! j1 R3 S* R
Networking and Fundraising; ; p& M7 u: R* Q! \0 Z9 {
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting T% R* ]8 l2 `& Q. W+ t5 Z/ ~
