0 C* E1 N. h7 E0 B. J" zReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
, p( q. E9 O8 \& q% k2 q0 Jexecution of the YWCA Strategy ; y. W' T* n/ s/ B7 C6 H7 F

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 8 G j; s2 t( y" V
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
2 F W/ z, H& @% t" Mthe Board of Directors; & `0 Q' b7 _+ T8 r. S, U
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
% U& O, x4 {+ I2 d3 h" `( L5 }including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 2 B! a" J- s- P* T- |4 v, V
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; % s4 x# b; ~$ R$ F6 h6 r
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
# P0 w9 X% e" |% T$ cobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ; E+ j- T# I5 L ^+ O( d
the board;
/ o, i& \* H* ^, V0 {5 Y; h( p- Y# q• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
) B/ H% I( N `, C" I4 k7 i• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ! F3 @0 D& }, t7 o
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; . k; n# v2 y" y9 Q6 S2 s6 O
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 0 B2 ^, g% {- c! F T8 f+ n: M
changing needs of the organization and community;
6 Z0 k/ x$ ]- v8 c• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
- t4 b3 k8 N$ a/ L$ Vcommitments;
- {' z) ^5 l3 L2 ]4 I• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; # |+ r2 e1 ]1 r( q6 o/ `$ o
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
9 [3 a' t+ W C% bselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 6 z' C) k( b( P
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
" d% {4 m" e( b3 t4 ^ K• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
! E, L+ S3 r" [effectively and positively represent the association;

8 x* d9 m t7 n4 j( ~6 R• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring / M! X( I. ` S' E% r
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 5 g+ Z6 G/ a- v0 I8 g9 i9 L
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
N' f# l* \9 G! J0 {performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED " {& H8 G# T( t% U& i2 V+ g
the forthcoming year;

practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of / T9 T, p7 f) x5 ~2 H' h _9 n

Required Professional Designation / Certification
. Q( Z& F1 p' T# J4 S( {• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
9 z, M/ L4 P8 D- O8 X' c: B/ x B# w8 y• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
' A8 l; O, U' U• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
, T8 o$ l2 U) f) _abilities; # l) W- E6 t: d/ |9 E' X
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
& f; v" I0 J5 JNetworking and Fundraising;
# O2 S8 q1 C& n$ J/ Y8 o• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
1 c) E+ m% S( O- T' H: M' kand financial statements; and
4 g& O- F& \6 t$ t. @5 W• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women 8 h0 G- Q6 W/ L2 E) ^3 @1 u- m% s
