Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

|2 F# j9 Q$ U+ T1 u• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of . K7 s. |, G! t# G8 E" G2 J
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
5 u. P" \# s5 d3 I8 tthe Board of Directors; ! F( u2 d" w' @4 C
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
! B/ R% ?, l4 |8 |; _including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 8 j' b0 U1 S$ R& O0 w' l
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; # \/ Y6 u v, C0 n3 l. C
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and / u$ v* {* v5 s7 n% @' k
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
0 i G6 W2 f5 r/ ~) b! ?6 A, E• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
" }" r3 d. x/ m' Z* K0 m% @the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; : C" t2 B, D% z7 U: R& g+ T
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 6 |+ j1 O1 u# M6 M. k; N6 h
changing needs of the organization and community; + q! t3 L. [/ a* |9 Y
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue , c( S6 D9 T( ?) S- X' J+ w
commitments;
/ u; Q) i# | J• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
' }9 v; @$ ^. r& f• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective S& c" Z9 c* @' n
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
) _6 u+ ~: X- I3 s/ N/ f• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 4 @& S6 l# Q/ }2 N8 ~% s
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring

• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal . w5 C7 C, W/ E5 V0 V& e& C4 R3 O
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

Required Professional Designation / Certification
; m3 e) ]- Z' l4 v& P& ?) l4 I: Z• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience + @1 W, ? j% g' [$ i' ^6 h6 y
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ' Y& F' ?; k9 B6 W& A9 I+ X' F
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation # Q, `1 \' X- l. Z
abilities; 2 d" R1 D: e6 r$ n( p
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
" z& Q5 x# N$ y: \Networking and Fundraising; ! G# {9 t5 H8 `& r# V8 {
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
9 {4 o+ Y2 _8 y7 X# e6 vand financial statements; and ; G9 Y3 H! d, J0 k
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women 5 y5 V( }, ?4 i- a/ I, q: W
centered perspective.
