Responsibilities

3 B$ Z" w. S! _% h( EReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
' _2 W* Z" ?' s4 lexecution of the YWCA Strategy , K+ b7 l& a# d7 \
% u: F5 D, i5 F0 `: c+ m% RSpecific responsibilities include: ' C, F9 I/ i0 x4 c4 `
( f) X3 Y% j( \6 x0 C• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 1 f; B5 E$ v8 l1 X3 C) ]/ I7 ~4 x
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
' ]( c* c+ Y9 y, m& j8 M0 Cthe Board of Directors; - q! Q# e& b; C* o/ N+ v& z% }
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations H' z4 q: X! M% z2 ?" q& I
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to / p; `, z9 c- S# [/ @4 g; v+ d
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
7 @$ R: _1 b/ ?• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and $ \0 }# b' A3 I4 o5 U% x
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

0 K/ ] W; w6 `6 `9 Y" D+ Z! ?• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 2 W$ Z, u# Q& q) I
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ; I$ U% s t. J+ D2 X Q, z8 A+ r
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
6 i: ?$ c2 U/ k• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 5 H/ x* a* i6 z& B! X
changing needs of the organization and community;

commitments;

5 V( r; M. s/ u2 e• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
5 ]' B2 y1 l9 X/ T7 V- o0 {5 B; }selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
, L( V4 a+ { v. k• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 4 g$ `$ E5 X6 P' _* ?& x
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to + f# J/ U3 V# B- X% k7 h% j$ f9 g
effectively and positively represent the association;

) ]4 ^) H! f. D$ D9 v• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
- h: f4 Z" j- a0 c( s/ F; l! j D# Cthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; # o* {; r, Q& ]
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
. l% b. K+ m5 d: \4 e6 W$ sperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED % t9 a. S3 M4 m5 _
the forthcoming year; 6 c' ]) d/ }+ y1 D0 K
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
4 L- `8 r1 i. p2 @2 O( Hpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ! q+ v- ^+ ]( y

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 7 P7 Z4 ]/ S8 m5 B; R2 N7 R
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ) \; L) i0 n9 t' Y4 W
abilities; 4 M5 z' p* B% l% x6 s
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
6 @* s' B4 m7 b1 L! N' }, F. |Networking and Fundraising; ! ]' k/ h* e1 c& }1 H
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
