Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include: ( ]4 E! j4 e0 E2 l4 Z
) v& K1 \. e( O+ J7 c• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ( v7 H- F( K) l; D# t+ O
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
4 s& D6 B7 P: C. ]* D6 K% _the Board of Directors;
6 I- W% A- I4 ]0 @3 ^- }# t- f• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 6 K. ]' _; e6 B# q9 ?' P: v
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
/ ]+ Z( k0 x+ I& g8 K" S( o+ Cenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
6 o5 B5 j& }$ ~4 b* H% ?• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and " j2 M9 T6 V& c$ m
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 8 M0 u" J9 x- w) h8 D

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; - H+ K3 g. {( G, n
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
5 j( u, ~6 {/ q: h5 kthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
& q9 l* \( T0 B6 T: V# q8 P9 [• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 0 ?3 u. }/ u4 m y( U4 j
changing needs of the organization and community;
/ y0 Y: L% ?' K5 _' d4 T1 T• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 6 U6 {2 }$ y* Q) e; G$ ~* y
commitments;
* N( G! B" _6 N/ B) E5 c' O• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ( Y$ h! V6 [/ d H% {) U
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 2 N' ]% p' f6 K/ |% U" n/ q
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
" J7 Q3 ^6 K$ k( Z4 qeffectively and positively represent the association; " J7 z* z& a C
' B! b2 Z4 {+ a M1 g B+ e• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
5 q+ s a9 n# c: _the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 5 E& S9 i8 h7 d7 z
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal * P6 b2 _2 R& I3 ?8 Q
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED * ]" X! e, \) p L$ k0 N8 `
the forthcoming year;
; C# ^( D8 G' ~! t) i% R3 q• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
/ G5 _: }( T3 J1 ppractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
@7 q" W- ?- `4 q( b• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
J1 x* {8 z7 D/ A5 O" d1 _0 k4 l; C0 f• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation + Y+ {3 v* v: B1 l; ~7 e" H
abilities; ' C" l7 S6 G! r/ c
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, , T6 ?) q* ]8 F" n4 B: ?
Networking and Fundraising;
& C( c% _# _3 G" G& {• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting o3 C' v S" |! G+ I1 u
and financial statements; and
