Specific responsibilities include:

1 [" n: S. B; U6 ^. W6 O9 I• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 2 A {2 C7 ^# T) I* E$ p1 D
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 4 j, N& ?6 j$ y' J: W- G' l
the Board of Directors; . T6 `9 u! |& J1 K b* S0 N1 ^
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 3 H( I5 l7 ~ }( }+ I9 {# u) j
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
) Q4 r) a0 ?0 w& I* cenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 4 r, O' p* u `
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
3 y+ [2 C) p1 I: d+ i. u+ \3 fobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
( Y! C2 i2 C( y$ R7 }! p1 Jthe board; 9 i) o9 {5 c ^$ g5 N: {( A
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; % |$ e5 T* k1 C' n) ~
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
, _7 |2 @& {- othe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 6 _& w& W7 \; G/ G) `
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
" y$ }' T! ~! O- Ochanging needs of the organization and community;
$ \/ `5 }; v- I" `5 M% l3 B1 ?• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
7 Z1 N3 e+ _! M0 j% B9 U- x• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 6 L% d" a1 I2 r7 n6 e
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
$ f) ?6 P: c8 u. v' m# L• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ) i4 D6 P" L4 L' d- m
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
1 j9 f( G3 v2 ieffectively and positively represent the association;

3 Q' @$ b# c- V2 ?) w% _ `. J# ^1 {9 r& I• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ) N% V- k) x2 A; z
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
5 C( w* D6 o! l& Z/ [) n7 f+ C3 N• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 9 l! W9 _' i% d: R) u) R
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
' e% Y! H' w; j' k$ ?the forthcoming year;
5 n2 w5 ?2 ]5 x) a• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ! i% R& k5 `0 J$ R
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of - g& P' z ~5 @3 a$ q
YWCA Canada; and & Z0 g/ l; h; g* W6 v
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification ! W7 l; H+ k7 v! y2 Y$ J
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

- `* F; G7 w$ l9 I P5 o$ \3 ?• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; " E* e; S" J/ L1 ~
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
/ l k! t; f# |abilities;
4 Z) J( z1 k& B& g- e• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
; L" U2 v+ V% V( ?9 w9 cNetworking and Fundraising; 1 E& H& R5 u4 e0 ]3 v) b
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
# e5 E K2 W" ?2 N1 [0 Cand financial statements; and $ ^7 r1 w$ W' ~
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
