Responsibilities

execution of the YWCA Strategy 9 V6 c1 a' z9 \/ u$ v$ k- f

/ N) e1 r7 V& H+ q& |5 Y& z• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of $ r& a0 P' E Z' i, h
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by p1 ^$ t' x1 L, @/ v% u& o9 W- Q N
the Board of Directors;
+ F4 K9 Z2 C! f* B4 H3 W• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations * ~- D. t% f( L- s/ m
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
/ [( i( _- ]$ \4 G1 h" Menable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
! Z! ]: E! c* n1 l' e• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and : w4 z/ z4 j/ a+ d
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ; b5 ]7 _( I0 k! _& c- i! l

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; $ Y; z K. n; E
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion : n% f. X" h+ F5 ~" p8 |
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
2 M1 c0 v' P& v: r, i4 a, |• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the f, y) b/ T9 l6 \
changing needs of the organization and community;
" r) T* p. F3 i# B# A2 N$ i; d• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

4 E! |, ]# K0 @3 K• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
7 B1 a! U- Z/ A# r• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
* p2 s" y, b1 Qselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; + A, z. {7 R: L$ q( V
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
: y1 g" ^. s. s m- N" w8 h+ Y• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to % U8 m! r8 h5 r

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring % W& G1 }( F8 W+ S
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
6 i; `5 _$ R3 ^5 g• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
7 A# s/ q6 V: p2 Jperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ) | [" E" t/ N; R' A, U. X
the forthcoming year; $ z: ?% ^! p# J" y/ o, u" E
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
2 [+ i# G* f5 h* F6 D4 W7 a, Lpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. ( b; c- x; c$ J2 l7 O

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
" d9 G1 z; m: t7 W q• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 6 ]0 s( e s7 s- I' h: {- Z
abilities; / G, ]: B+ i7 ^' \* V6 W" C5 b! l
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 0 A8 }: |$ g. O9 H' T
Networking and Fundraising;
