The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic 2 \+ f9 V( I. R6 n
thinking and be both enthusiastic and an outstanding communicator / relationship builder to lead
$ o5 R& V1 [0 fthis multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 3 D& T, l) g6 y/ U, J5 m) o3 T* L6 a
execution of the YWCA Strategy

% s8 d1 z. c7 N0 `( a• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 8 F4 Z6 E2 Y P( ~* M6 X7 N
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
8 q" l) R c- _" c0 T' wthe Board of Directors; # r* Z* S( L$ b; y3 c
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
; Q# R4 q9 r" {7 [, [including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ) `, j2 I+ K2 q0 g9 ~9 i j m
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ! G- v' N( G, S5 j- w
the board;
7 Q- ?+ b% a& }1 i, v) Q• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
8 I. P8 i, w" ? z1 U" p& S9 r• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 3 A8 h6 R. N3 [6 |
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ' V% `$ e# s" f" Y. g! a
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 6 `. c& b6 Y+ C# U5 w& T
changing needs of the organization and community; 2 Q, Y9 U; S* M) M
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ; h# u/ L+ q% N5 N" ]* i
commitments; 8 Z2 y( e/ d1 L4 l
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; % p' r) k4 R: I- p. d' y
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ( C3 R% w; [9 K, J# t
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
/ ~2 I, v3 P; b9 G! p! d• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; " }: C* i- a( m. A# ^( u
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 4 U7 P$ h, f( O% n
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ! C- M: L( I2 v! o
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
) j! l! {. ?+ I4 t6 \) u# j• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
9 {) p4 ^; h+ U0 P5 D2 ^performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
; r1 G0 |& ]# C$ n( V0 Y, v" wthe forthcoming year;
$ m( C9 B7 q5 o• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical , M6 R; G- N, x/ X) G! ^. H
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Professional Designation / Certification

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; t' b, W, g2 B2 M% U* p6 Q
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation " o5 m1 J- k- n7 p, y9 H; L

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
