Responsibilities

9 |- v. ^5 N) q$ zReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

Specific responsibilities include:

9 B" a/ h X. m5 l/ a4 {• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of : w0 @$ |1 z1 ]
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by - b! f; u/ X0 p/ ~ n
the Board of Directors;
( C8 e# h7 D0 @ J• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
" i J$ z2 ?* f% F2 e, {including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
* ]7 r8 H" ~: b& i2 z: F# u' @7 Senable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;

objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; . R- H1 Z9 N3 f7 _
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
- |3 x8 f# `' z% H! Zthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
~) d& X" l6 k. j' P% b9 |• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the , X- Z+ W. W$ Y4 B$ V
changing needs of the organization and community;
. I! S% A R: D0 \# [• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

9 k; O4 e. x, e' W• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; " z8 \) @+ [3 r, t
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
, m: u6 o7 J! C3 @4 x- a8 rselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
* o5 W4 R2 B/ Y$ ?) F- D G• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
. k; r! g! d; A• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 4 U; f. Q6 Y5 @$ h" k6 s/ z: o
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 7 H5 x1 p+ A* ~- j8 ?
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal * e* x4 w* l* B1 E& W' g
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
5 P% B, [7 R1 o/ Tthe forthcoming year; & A2 t3 Y+ F) `+ ^2 h6 L6 Q
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
! U% @3 U/ _/ G! e Jpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
) e( l/ C# O6 Q( r0 {1 A+ X3 kYWCA Canada; and [0 d2 ^4 w; | W+ {0 D
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification
; d. r/ o( N) B! J' O* h• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

7 m# [ q3 L' {5 z+ E( \% |• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 9 B& }5 ~& q) s
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

& w" `& r. x, ?• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, K! C2 r& O: j, B0 A
Networking and Fundraising;

and financial statements; and
