The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

' c8 e( m4 ^$ j1 ]9 }; jthis multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

surrounding region. Through generous support from a variety of funders and donors, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

2 N% K! K$ r. J; @• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ! T$ m& }2 P7 b' B- T3 u/ ^
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 5 P/ `1 P [7 R: }5 V
the Board of Directors; 8 f! K( {6 R$ l$ ] _; [- N, K9 r
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
, z: U7 x# _6 O" c8 Y2 Z+ Tincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to + E: n h4 n' \2 E$ ^3 e
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; $ e# k; k4 \/ W
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and : S3 b) Q1 N% b$ o, k
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; * G: f' X6 b+ ^. t& e& S2 I8 x& x
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion & u i7 B% L, K0 i% x
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; + ^( M2 w. \$ b1 J( `8 z' a; I8 t
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 4 m, q5 ~% L9 E: P
changing needs of the organization and community;
- q5 Q% I3 J1 w& ~, K" J1 H• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue + D3 k f) v& P
commitments; 5 A% f/ K) Z; f! c" C y6 \& G
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
1 j1 D9 |* l8 [) r• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
! x: f' ]" r) w' a+ |selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; - }% L! b. L' ?0 Y
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; * Y1 M! B7 @7 u) `( I, o" l
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 2 ^; ^% c9 R4 v, c7 ?
effectively and positively represent the association;

$ \* }( L) W+ | o% z5 W• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 7 b; C) D2 x9 G2 q; I G- Y: \
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 8 S. \6 c5 t) c- o3 h
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal * e5 {+ X! Q0 Q4 U' ]
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
5 W) F" j8 l' b2 ~the forthcoming year;
2 r9 O& {; n* ?0 p4 a, B• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical : O* T( G' x; T. T+ S. U% ]
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Professional Designation / Certification
% }+ p& [; ^ U1 m; N- i ]/ A6 S1 e• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. ! u9 U @ w1 V3 s) s
, @: K: ]; |6 HRequired Experience : V2 ], i+ }7 O, F6 ^, P
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
1 o( o. w& N6 ]( m# H! w• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
7 V0 R& f; ~% m" }) k. b1 t! {abilities;
/ e. u( I4 g/ l4 V2 ]7 W• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
- j6 v% Z; l) x2 G& WNetworking and Fundraising; 0 w4 F0 `4 _) l: h: y( f3 q
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting ; h+ U: j8 l; V/ S$ R' N
and financial statements; and
