Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 9 S' s) f3 V" U: K( i

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
9 W& ^ w* D0 c z( e. F% ~including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
) v' u: n* ]8 b9 S6 q. x1 C0 cenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
# x! j8 K) B8 m' L6 _• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ' D- I+ s% C2 p; d ]& N) S5 O
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by * ^! K5 d1 r) Y

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
P" i3 ?8 H2 J( h7 X- i• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion # _9 k& L% C. c, F7 [0 w
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 0 z2 X1 C4 M7 t* `
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
& z: {% N/ U$ `$ M, cchanging needs of the organization and community;
1 p3 D, I5 } d4 i* ^1 \• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue : t6 x$ V3 S" l) O: u0 u0 R

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 7 O7 k0 H5 `. I/ S' w, j7 Z
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
1 u% Q; F4 S# |% eselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 5 b( }2 B) u" o% b9 D
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

U4 v: c! l6 g" C3 ]5 _, X• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
$ B$ L5 i1 s# f" ^the implementation of systems to manage these risks; , @! i" D* ^5 [/ j0 D( e, z5 c
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal & H1 t+ a' j+ s: P3 d) P
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED $ c* v/ k$ r6 A$ p3 X5 o6 w1 D& x3 s- {
the forthcoming year;
3 u% c* q5 F9 p0 V$ `, D3 D; J• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical - z$ Y) i& c2 j; P/ J6 X1 g
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of % \0 c0 M9 H' X5 i' _2 Z ^% T7 K, P3 C
YWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
3 m! s5 o) U$ L! N* O6 w x• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; $ k- x2 t. M: I
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ; H. A; n+ u0 b9 y5 f
abilities; : h4 w6 p$ ]9 W; s
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
- A+ C3 e2 K/ T \$ D2 I W2 F; ENetworking and Fundraising; ' L+ P" D- E- B& y
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting $ z) n* p# I8 o
and financial statements; and - L8 u% F' i9 ~& x) A5 @ M2 I
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women 8 R$ e7 Y' n, p# p! S- J9 h
