execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include: % U3 d4 ?- W- @. p0 d
) F, I8 z7 c! k• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 1 K% G, ]" h6 Y
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
' x; |: \! g( W7 uthe Board of Directors; / f" U+ Q0 @+ O; Y4 z
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
# W' W+ V. B4 Q# X4 Q9 n/ Tincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to # ]9 i% |3 v- |* E& r* v; U- R5 v G
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
/ h4 w" V G8 d {• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ; |+ B: N; o8 d4 l0 ?
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 2 Y7 G9 o3 L( L- S
the board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 7 m4 x; z3 a. T7 b- e D
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
0 R$ ]3 |, z* O' d• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
' p6 t9 J% ?3 ?8 \. S xchanging needs of the organization and community;
# k# H& E$ Q6 D! h• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
; E% r8 @; I# W* W0 ]- x wcommitments;
! O1 b' R/ S3 |% V5 J$ R• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
; l2 n- h; t3 \: P& H• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 4 L8 s( I8 y! q5 |* R% H
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ) Z( p" C/ w( |* j! I+ H
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; - y P' y ^, S! w
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 3 \3 S) k( P5 |1 C
effectively and positively represent the association; ( Q6 P5 k: c4 K) A# K
. `, N! g$ z$ y8 K" f( T- l3 n• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 7 S! J' ~2 s& b7 a* t: f$ @6 ?
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; & Y' N. m1 S8 X7 K% O
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal h6 ` J& \; K3 P% Q4 C) h `+ Z
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 3 X5 R' r0 _& C
the forthcoming year; . ~) z0 d Y" X- N: E' b$ }2 c1 H7 S) s
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
( V) K" x. y5 W+ |( j2 k9 Y3 rpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of . J: P! I: O0 @5 m# {1 W1 Z; L
YWCA Canada; and

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ) }* f5 [. a$ Z2 }6 X
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

* `7 C0 w# U6 v: G• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting # R# A. S/ a& _3 A6 j& S
and financial statements; and
