execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
9 K5 M. H8 j* _0 T. q6 ?7 Ythe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
9 I, O, {, \2 G8 d/ o( ~2 u" ~& Ythe Board of Directors;
# I: V0 Z9 X B/ O2 f& F• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 9 P! D4 T' m, _0 J# ^- [
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ( B* }& S5 p- Y
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 6 ^: y, |8 @4 p" ^: B
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
/ ~/ Z$ K; [/ F' E, i5 }& i" [9 ~9 }objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by , \8 z+ [' n8 B/ H( e2 I* d) s
the board;
& _ g$ q# G F; _0 B& m• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 3 M" @. d- m m1 B& r+ L
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion g$ z, [( D2 v% I( n3 N
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; & J4 Q5 z: r4 V6 z
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the * }3 D5 ?9 B. O4 S& T
changing needs of the organization and community;
' d: _" }, {6 A$ J. o& X4 I& @6 a• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
6 _$ }& t3 D# Hcommitments; - t& {6 W1 [* X' |' B
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
# f0 q, ~1 \, b1 @7 f+ p• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
/ _$ J3 X6 P1 e: E2 l; ~! kselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
0 A6 ]/ O0 H7 r! n2 d" U0 C• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 6 D; h) ?& C4 Z: q# O4 f/ {5 x; w( N2 j
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to " t5 A J+ R. \# m6 o! r, ?
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
! r" J$ @+ w, P$ N6 [$ s0 i9 Ithe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
6 a* a7 a8 a- d9 ]% ^8 {• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 6 D$ u% x7 B+ i% L
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
4 b- a- T% a% N6 l4 ?7 z# z/ Uthe forthcoming year;
, Y$ D! X5 J& L5 s• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 5 i- M& C, L, y
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. |6 ` [/ o% {( P/ n( w

( ?& \. u3 G4 k$ X; G; y• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; $ T L2 E# B4 @* g" I
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation . t6 k6 a' A5 _" j5 x
abilities;
1 z5 c. X1 w9 o• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, . I+ Z7 K4 Q5 F( l; t) J
Networking and Fundraising; & X- H) V/ a( T+ b+ r$ F
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
