execution of the YWCA Strategy 7 K# t* V9 l0 @5 @1 x( ^

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
* J- S5 p1 u+ M6 U* g3 v- c$ i3 Uthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
, U& ~ D4 G+ ithe Board of Directors; 7 ?; ?9 i) [; c$ Z1 `# l( t
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 9 c# r2 m2 x, D7 L" B
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
/ o! n* R; @: N3 Eenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
, i2 @% Y) m: `, g) F4 |+ }+ W• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
4 x+ X1 n) v$ M+ U2 |$ Yobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 7 ]& y2 {$ e& z' p9 @, F8 Z

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 7 N- P# h, f, U9 d X- k! V$ R0 \
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion , ]. ]+ X: J: n/ |
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
0 u: n1 ~& W; g• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 3 q7 l% R) i; Q n2 Y
changing needs of the organization and community;
: v4 h/ n5 C1 l7 f• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue " f' A$ o/ {6 O7 u. w3 r! S6 i
commitments; ( H o6 T5 I1 ^
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; % w9 d( G: _0 H5 _/ _
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective " f, E4 G' P8 }4 c* `; w% s& T
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
" e" [( B1 I, d# j" H6 K$ {2 e" ~3 V• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
: v* l6 Q4 v9 s- v• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 7 O2 d1 [$ N" G: h9 N1 u7 v
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; * c c) p) Z! q) x( I( [
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ( _8 W* Y% f; \$ c1 Q
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED $ _. y( ~+ N- x
the forthcoming year; 4 ?6 U" d$ ]9 {: ]4 y
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
( z' F8 }* |7 N5 O* ]$ qpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of . l. o9 Q1 x# j# l
YWCA Canada; and
4 A' H! j l2 L0 }+ \: N" I• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Ability to develop and understand organizational goals, objectives and operations;

• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. ( c+ ~9 P q2 ~! `. v0 R8 B

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
. w6 u2 M7 a' y• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
& r/ w0 Y/ L1 R4 @# x6 {( D) j9 Mabilities; 3 x7 o1 ^9 R ~6 N; h+ u) F8 }4 ~
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
5 V* o* X; S8 q3 _/ ENetworking and Fundraising;
3 T2 g1 d' K0 }+ v6 A- ~• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting % z: @" E N r3 y5 S4 j
and financial statements; and
