Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

Specific responsibilities include:

% }. z1 X% a% i" i& `• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 2 U. I4 }: M5 C0 I
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

2 u! }8 M: X! I! h& K( t9 l• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 7 T! A; i# D- r# J- I
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

. p2 {4 A& h, h• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
' `6 j- @9 z0 O) V) X& l. d% Y& uobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

. k7 t/ b- Q% ^% L+ W% s! ^• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
$ h" z% ~# c7 U# g8 I' M• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
9 s4 Y) N" F/ r3 k) Ithe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; / O( M: F; S( [, K* u
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
: B8 P8 B6 W$ [( t( Pchanging needs of the organization and community; 0 Y4 `( G) E" ^
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
% W( h7 B) @0 o8 Tcommitments;
/ J) Y/ R3 _9 g* b, G8 ]5 j9 z• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; " ^6 M4 u7 j. N ?+ A
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 2 a" l+ N7 M* p8 q
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; : E* I+ J- g( P/ p6 ~' [" ~; C
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

- `5 S, b: h) u i J. M& ^• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
9 f1 B6 T3 {3 J) l4 Y7 Ethe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
7 j! o4 g2 U: B6 i9 f; }• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal * E8 v' L( n. w* L0 Z2 `' j2 l5 W3 D
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED , {. Z0 ^ @% @+ ~' O
the forthcoming year;

practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 0 l# q' N- W& S2 \3 U/ t9 E

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
/ R, W& e, y2 t6 h2 _. E0 q" p• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
% |& ]3 Q( J8 r1 q8 j, S• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation - u& B* j0 K5 j, x# ~0 e
abilities; + B+ _. {+ }2 O. L: R
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 1 [5 `" r7 O! U r1 `
Networking and Fundraising; + b8 c7 f# v. l8 a: b1 G& _
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 2 ]) H) s( h: L2 u6 G* H
and financial statements; and
h( M E* H6 [5 N8 v, J/ z• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
+ H7 G/ E( m4 L& N8 w7 }& L8 }centered perspective.
