Responsibilities

execution of the YWCA Strategy

* q N; g7 s( ?# u6 Y• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
( W) z! ~! ]$ H) K$ g+ m7 Hthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by E8 F5 S) R6 ], P: T7 J
the Board of Directors; + o# A' z. T& s( M& _ y
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 4 ]: g5 J1 j A( `
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
: X! x9 q8 k" b" C, E" t& T" kenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
y' J4 b) z8 Q! ^) E• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
- J. A( c7 Z- {. Gobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
. o- a* j4 n# g& N+ d3 n3 sthe board; 0 e( W7 d! U% j: o/ `
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
1 b& P* @1 }4 Q$ O• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
- C/ S2 O- y- Rthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
I6 E4 w$ \1 b# F• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 3 B0 f( I9 R& o+ c& y
changing needs of the organization and community;
4 T* F) R3 u! B* |) p# C- m( x• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

; u5 o" `% o- A& n X" J• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; j# {0 d9 K/ N2 d# x8 @0 _3 p
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
7 d) t1 W; W6 Sselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
" H8 p1 E+ V4 U: J! {• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
& [* a, ]) m* f- e• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
) O* n4 W( T$ x1 c: [9 h# k) ^effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 0 q$ T0 g' t) `8 e+ G+ }
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 3 V( y6 ]0 u% }4 u
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
7 w1 ?/ F6 B% A$ R4 d; z2 eperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
0 X$ I3 p J: m: T# _the forthcoming year; 1 O: F7 M" v4 X2 z% t
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
& g: a5 e! F5 j6 |2 Wpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
% ~( d! ~9 n4 y3 y3 w: XYWCA Canada; and
$ h; S1 g/ N* m N9 e/ Q& G• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

1 @6 C+ ~$ A" |• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 8 d- p' A( T: o/ m
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
+ K: N1 y7 D, @ |% }abilities;
; d& l: h! G; \" i• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, * x Z' I1 p' [$ `$ @( d* O' @
Networking and Fundraising; 7 C# h2 \% M, [( D
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting - @5 ~% |# ]4 e( X8 N8 `! J
and financial statements; and
