* s1 V7 d- U6 j# }" m- }Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
' d1 `+ M6 w$ M8 I' a; o& P% ?execution of the YWCA Strategy 3 q/ h# _1 P4 O- @& K
& N& y5 F/ Q7 }/ QSpecific responsibilities include: + w+ o9 \* C; N" j6 n, T- S
L' O( `8 D2 X% E• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of % x* O; E c2 h% M2 N' S$ C
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
" E0 c. d( W$ `8 \6 h2 O3 ythe Board of Directors; * |+ X9 h7 f, V( T/ x2 x
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations # b' K- |2 h& {) E
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ) [- I T# x$ H: g
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
8 z& x! ~4 R' v/ p' H7 d• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 6 S, G |2 J$ d' W( D x
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

+ _- F* `6 o) ]% `• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 1 o2 n9 t8 g" x2 v5 O
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
" p( q& q0 ?+ q, athe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
. V( r2 \0 I# Y0 U. X/ N• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 8 e# u8 `# z4 x' E
changing needs of the organization and community; * j3 b2 L: y/ U# s2 @2 @9 W
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

, t; F6 ^" l: l0 i* ^2 V• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 1 Q& g4 x, H7 q( ]
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective / H3 Y7 H) `, `0 v/ E1 {4 L
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 1 m0 B, |+ _5 s; ` z" E, h; D
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 7 e; w4 c1 m$ k
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to ?: g( M! S; C" |, y' f: u# S# F
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring " I9 v, n* @& s1 l
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; $ n5 V& u; d+ i2 I+ j. V
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
( [7 b7 u9 L& I2 M$ T# bperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 5 Y1 S% G+ B0 f) |9 Z0 J* `
the forthcoming year;
5 d$ U1 x- X1 p• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical + {# H& M7 B/ b& _" i6 j1 v: F
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Professional Designation / Certification

0 ~6 n; H1 Y# u8 GRequired Experience
1 B. m5 ?; r5 z# B• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; , Q0 e4 A0 Y( j7 j. d% l: P, ^3 j
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
1 m2 C* P9 I2 J! Q8 O# [# w& Xabilities; . r: a k2 J) v3 X4 s1 @; a- a9 D
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
4 I% j- _7 t: F, v/ c1 ^Networking and Fundraising;
0 u- K3 k, a2 t• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
