Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
/ g5 i( y! F% \' m) a9 k- Oexecution of the YWCA Strategy / f% F0 b( m. e. J0 b* E
5 o5 |& M$ Y! n* X/ o& q( tSpecific responsibilities include: ( u+ T5 T B2 }+ ~
; A7 `! C* D# C2 ] q4 Y• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
2 T ^9 b3 J0 athe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by + o' P' ?. \; P
the Board of Directors;
9 r% [' L9 `0 p% c• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 0 l% q, d; @- I: q8 Q8 Z
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to * y* N O- H7 u
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
. M0 [- E2 Y8 F7 R( i3 d• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
, J6 G( @' N) N0 k1 ~& Qobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion

9 D+ f4 Y6 X$ F5 n9 e+ f' I• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 2 f! x, b. Z5 j& g$ N/ d0 h, s

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
) c& K1 l( M/ K& lcommitments;
, a+ R& X" C+ T& H [• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
1 V( x, |9 y/ w* N$ v& d O: B• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 0 U( ~+ d8 W- o" m& m X
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
1 L E b O) w+ Q• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 6 E% j# r! Q( a% Q( y3 F$ h
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
4 H! {& M/ V4 V: Geffectively and positively represent the association; Y9 d1 _) Q# o4 ?( w
+ P! u, d3 _% M& y& `1 Z M• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
8 K# k) w; ?9 k- w2 Bthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
9 Z7 c- s+ s7 g3 _ b# w• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 9 m1 H" v8 R( z) I4 L+ w/ H7 Z
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ( O' T! D+ G5 J' `5 u
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of : H$ U; M0 O3 S# d+ \- Q& o

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

/ I3 S3 k I1 k! J8 K• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ! T$ [1 x2 g* v. p H4 {
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
+ z2 {+ Q( A& u$ q+ mabilities; 2 A; Q( J: ^, q2 m& V M
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
^( N# o0 V+ `Networking and Fundraising;
& e) y/ C$ t l0 t+ R0 i4 y• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 1 C5 {+ N Q4 C, j1 u
and financial statements; and
