Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and ) j% L1 R/ a ]# w# O4 H5 T1 D
execution of the YWCA Strategy 3 @+ L. @6 \; E0 L; b, _

Specific responsibilities include:

7 i" z* O. C$ ^7 S• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
4 @( w9 z: E" _9 _6 r! W1 c* ?the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
" u$ Q4 Q: k1 O# Y+ y2 rthe Board of Directors;
1 F* L' T! i" P; \6 |5 L7 t3 r• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
2 A9 o3 ~/ I6 \including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ! z3 d. ^# A% Y" n* C) L
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
8 K7 I( b9 l! o+ v• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and $ Y& U. v+ G" C+ `# o6 s
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 0 E+ y$ d$ J& _- s. e( k/ @
the board;
' X" u, O# o9 }• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
4 B& ^. s2 ~ L; s• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
- d6 E8 f% E( |, q- Xthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
' z/ T$ g7 Z) ~• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the @( x$ A# V$ i) ?& ~; r* h0 [
changing needs of the organization and community;
; w) S# W' r( F/ g2 P• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
r" m6 s6 J8 z1 H• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
1 [" D4 i' M" J# Aselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; / u8 `# }6 x" Y% I
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 3 K1 H q4 t# s9 k8 }9 V8 p k' ~
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
/ O0 X6 k; \) o9 Y. Neffectively and positively represent the association;

1 ^1 K% g2 j( G% f• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 5 W: M7 l2 I6 L4 a. F2 _/ F
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
% D3 u% I$ `3 X9 V• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 6 S( b, Y' Q; T# _# R H
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical " ]! k7 e; P6 }) o
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of $ f; C0 m' e. Y

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task K3 S6 _' _, h1 d

Required Professional Designation / Certification * Z) _* }9 W+ }, Z4 Q( D& ]
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
7 w2 ?: M! B5 Z% `• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 0 q- E# m' z# ?3 s' v' x. A" R
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
- J- N; i& U5 |* zabilities;
9 w. R1 m1 w0 B: ~% z: c: [9 Z• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, ) {- Z/ D. Y, }' R# p# T; e/ H3 E
Networking and Fundraising;

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
