Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

# U% J! i, K* a1 w7 MSpecific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
- d- k+ a7 z& ]- A+ `the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
& d }3 T6 J7 P7 T0 hthe Board of Directors; ! r" y7 Y" q& [5 ~% \+ K) b
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations & C$ ?4 R @. O& \' k9 @" Q
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
+ b( A! v% | B/ r" Oenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 8 ?) Y7 W( \3 |! [
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
: l9 X# q- S- U# wobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
' }, W, c. j! k5 c# vthe board; 7 c" v- B6 q- ]) o& k& z( ]
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
/ N( R' @- h, f: v; V, S• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion * S0 J- V, c+ g, n) ]6 T# e, Z6 f
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
) c, _ A! b* d& q• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
! G. y/ b! q; M0 W, A0 S$ Q3 Hchanging needs of the organization and community; * l6 _5 h) H3 R' }1 M# C- z4 L
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue : z: E- {! m/ o! c, d
commitments; . X5 n) v3 o. E1 }6 h, R
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 1 e& m& e( z. X& R
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective - F& i: ~8 K2 t! o
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
' Z) i% Y+ s2 N$ J+ k• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; * N& m' B3 x3 {- ^4 R5 q
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
9 L3 d) V9 p7 ^6 r* leffectively and positively represent the association; ; o0 i* F' l5 S5 D

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring $ x: @1 _1 E( u0 t6 h6 `9 R0 g# f
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
% N4 D6 G: }) N& x2 W( K/ Q1 r• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ) D( u5 W$ c% @+ p
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 1 s" h! i" d& [- K7 N
the forthcoming year;
6 Q0 y5 S5 ~: A& d0 v/ W• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 6 a6 y: n6 W* ]. \7 \! S3 n
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. ; l6 L% X& X5 D0 Y ]/ g) Y& e7 q# h

0 @5 A+ Q a# _# [• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 3 X0 a# Z1 |# V
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
# o" I% D' Q4 G' Wabilities; 9 B1 u2 W; l# u/ G
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
- s N# u- G9 U- x4 }: _Networking and Fundraising;
+ V$ o: i# F! | u* }, p• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting , R: u* O& }7 Z$ I1 l3 u$ }8 J
and financial statements; and
