7 y2 G# C6 J8 |0 vReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and * C K# n6 W5 W: q6 s; o
execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:
1 L0 ]! \7 z& C9 x1 K- U1 J - C8 r! N0 K$ Q7 y! e, x
• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
+ J3 M0 I% \! j1 Dthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by $ j4 v ]( `6 k/ T' w M
the Board of Directors; 8 e% h$ q' t% u6 ]
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
5 C* P# R2 n. A$ k7 m" Lincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to - H2 a0 u0 i+ M, W- p% N
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
% c9 }, U+ M$ ?! v/ H! V! `• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and - i# D* n z' Y- Z' e8 y( x. d: h% P
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by + v7 N' w# m6 J
the board;
: f4 b. f5 f2 _- L7 C• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; : p/ v5 j8 |0 F. H) f: g
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion p% M: q' O% M' V1 j# Q
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
' \* i6 g" ~' [; M# U• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
- S+ c) s$ u( Q, l' rchanging needs of the organization and community;
+ C' Q7 ^- H& W4 J/ ?• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
- L& j" L$ z) U$ ?# Qcommitments;
/ V- J2 `' p3 r, t- _2 D0 {( d• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 9 ?2 Y* ~* D2 k2 ~/ j/ u9 e
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ! f) g* t' k X# S7 v
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; + g# X: A. K% j( V" h
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; % {4 ?- e6 T/ M. y
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 0 n0 `# C& o$ O) Z p1 `
effectively and positively represent the association;

/ P- Q/ _; Y( H' x8 J• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
4 O7 N) p6 x1 ~" Ythe implementation of systems to manage these risks; A. t/ \( [, H& z' L1 L; C
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 0 r% o+ E! T4 Z I3 b
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

c1 [ U. K; [7 Q7 j* q( x# T• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 9 P7 u' |! T$ I' h/ ?
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

h* e+ t2 ^/ Q• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task ; u e7 v5 M! `9 }3 {

5 C% j* [" J% n; u, _' b• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. + d9 U, F) c; T" @ S7 U

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
1 W: P0 I; g5 m3 \• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ! p& x7 S3 x0 |* p5 `' g. i' I) d
abilities; ( }' h9 k5 H, c3 o
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 3 y' R6 M: A4 r, V9 ^( o7 z: a" L
Networking and Fundraising;
) ?# |% c& p" |6 {- Z! K& J, m• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
