- U" A P- E( q% D+ fReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 5 {7 _" Q2 a8 W# H2 ^
execution of the YWCA Strategy % K5 M7 b" J% } ?

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 1 ~: s6 m# l/ F. R% q
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
6 U3 N& K5 u o. b% N2 kthe Board of Directors; 2 y2 ]5 p% M; U% ~
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
1 Y/ s w9 M+ k) tincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
9 S$ N2 V, P! _0 b7 W( nenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ; [/ e8 h8 d2 ~
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
! U6 b F; Q( r$ Q7 b& fobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by / m" }% m" Q+ C% [: I9 p
the board;
' ]& \" b3 d- z% {• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; / C; J# j+ H% s" o( o: e7 k
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
* J9 c; V" D. q- N M4 S' dthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
/ u) H# f( X3 ~( E7 p• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 0 W! y0 K) {1 R- l4 u9 t# p
changing needs of the organization and community;
3 ?# C2 p! a7 \' K' l• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

. L7 K+ d/ |' n• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 2 B# f5 P' E+ z: Q- b& l1 q5 @
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective * \" h m4 R5 N1 Q/ v
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ( C) u2 I+ p" c0 J# d
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

5 n6 K4 T2 [! Q• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring , D8 q! ~9 K, }; B0 Y, E7 J
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; - ]# W( z: |/ R
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
, x/ n, c9 s' c2 wperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
$ \0 s; g o, O& Q) q" i$ R4 J( Sthe forthcoming year; 3 Y. y H1 W6 G/ ~" o
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
7 u6 _ `" q$ H0 zpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of . t& B8 t9 n( {( w( Z/ r I

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

and achievable with realistic timeframes;

Required Professional Designation / Certification 4 F$ D' i: \8 G
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

$ I, O1 ~* ?9 ]4 @• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 4 y5 Q( w5 f9 F6 G: s0 o" p
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 2 }& V c2 h/ M1 D1 x8 d
abilities;
# ~4 n% H* m6 D( E0 R: _; w• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, ; g$ t$ v' d' o ]( s6 f8 r
Networking and Fundraising; 0 a" T6 j& Z1 v+ R
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting + W! t" m7 E# s
and financial statements; and
) X9 b" \, B5 a+ a• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
