Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
! g* _5 k- v- t* O- ^8 T* ]6 G( sthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by : X& B6 u9 O5 u3 m: {5 ]9 L8 Q
the Board of Directors;
8 a: Q9 r$ Y: }4 s: W% {5 P+ q• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
. d5 `7 D: I6 F0 ~9 \4 \including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
$ g0 L8 X- y5 m0 Fenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
7 z% R3 o7 `1 K6 V• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ( o* F8 n: {9 C; _% L' ?; V+ y+ P
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

B/ [$ F% b+ \. ^) E; R, E• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
9 }3 }. M4 w( }( Z1 V• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
' ]$ \" D! z; Kthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
. p, |3 Q4 o: G5 V) `; Q• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ( Q( k z' \0 O! v% R* j
changing needs of the organization and community;
0 S+ {2 |% @& z8 h- ]! w• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

: n8 c5 s6 W' g# ]. }• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ' s$ t& A- y5 S7 J
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective - y! I4 C h( y% y2 U( H5 A5 A
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

effectively and positively represent the association;

. I7 y/ u; [( t6 S• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
, Y A* p' t" J ]+ h# e! e) othe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 2 h: N) ^% X7 m, z: `6 c: P
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
( v( V+ ~! P' V# N, ^$ D+ Uperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 9 x2 z& i1 u+ p
the forthcoming year;
7 O/ y) |; j. X- u( ?0 y# G• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 7 J# n6 W0 q4 U3 l1 W& [4 X4 X8 p
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of - A7 L( V i/ K: ~# g) J, Q

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification 4 s" c4 r/ ^: I
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 3 |6 B& @7 F1 K' d

- v* ~/ v3 A7 E3 r2 z• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; $ J' t' a1 }6 u8 ^
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
2 k$ M& K) z1 ^1 {5 Yabilities;
$ v ?2 l! {" _ Q: b• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, ! @3 e1 v1 `7 }$ B
Networking and Fundraising;
