Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and # i [/ n6 }! @: j. z) I8 s
execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 4 b* a4 s' [* Q" D. o" P
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 2 d" v, h, H' g' U3 f
the Board of Directors; % f0 S- J* N$ C }
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
2 C8 K! x/ C9 e- f- T3 o9 U6 hincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 9 G2 e9 Q' O ~
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ; m- e2 L+ _+ ~) F+ D/ T6 g
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 0 u0 @! k- [2 |$ V
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
( N4 A% v P, S& s( s/ i: M+ N• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 2 X0 f* _5 u9 t
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
: p9 T0 U9 X5 L \& M6 C• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the # D4 c. A: C2 k- f* u0 ?
changing needs of the organization and community; # r5 T- {% n# M4 E: i: o/ Q
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
5 V" K _* W0 V( Qcommitments;
2 ]$ g3 [ v _9 ~• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
2 s0 M) [# f$ |+ Q+ z• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
m% J! P4 f( W5 ~/ fselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; , j! v* ~) }- p4 p. M* F
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
) V0 E5 a. R9 l2 Y• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 2 H: p1 S+ a4 |2 O4 G. F# i
effectively and positively represent the association;

+ I+ Q* J) B) I; r. b3 l' R• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ) T& |. C& `6 Y
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
8 Y r) t) {' E! \0 y6 u m9 \* r' U• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
; B/ j6 c7 X% D( I) ^8 V; _6 Jperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
& Z: V1 Z% V% mthe forthcoming year; 9 M. ~, K: {8 B: I9 U. ~+ i
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 5 E" [8 V. _- `& S; j
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Professional Designation / Certification
. J, ^7 o- c7 f n7 ?& y• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.
& t+ W" D. w" q* R : \# T- {9 s1 n/ J1 c
Required Experience ) K; P9 G$ Q( o6 {8 F! d
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
5 t- z+ `- Z1 I+ K5 ^" K4 `• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
$ ]- J6 {6 q y4 T: F* habilities; ! b& S* y# s7 M! X5 s9 O
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
4 n- I% o' l9 N2 ~$ n; E1 CNetworking and Fundraising;
+ L) p# w" I: N( P3 G5 ^• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting ) p! m, w; o& e; g1 p& Q0 z' X
and financial statements; and 3 V9 A, n4 q Q0 E
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
