Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
. Z7 N) O' O1 r- T( x# r7 qexecution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

0 j3 D0 s8 H: U2 i• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 2 Z8 H4 s( U2 n* Y* @6 S& f' m3 M
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
* ~7 U- ]9 V: |; Hthe Board of Directors;
( k+ U1 t! v) n& ~! m• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
/ C7 d4 P4 C. x7 u* wincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
+ r. ] O J) ^. A" s" Senable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
+ |2 e6 ]4 h K" k2 v• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ) S; f4 x2 y6 E* M2 P8 c
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ! S5 ^: C! G5 q! b1 G1 L- g3 I
the board; 4 l& J+ K5 }+ y) I9 W( b. |
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
3 A% `3 o+ m* K$ u" e) n. ?8 s• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ) K* N7 p# p7 W0 B1 \
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
% L6 G5 `2 N: V7 w* p/ [7 c• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the * Y- n, `) c$ h. o
changing needs of the organization and community;

( E; A q" _# S# Z j• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; * y1 Y6 J2 m, g' D) P
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
- w/ K" ~' e V7 f; K3 k+ O3 d. wselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

7 c6 k1 I" Q9 A' L! D: J• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring + Q, S. [& G: ^# n( L
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
1 J8 d9 q4 X+ c+ c+ b• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ' R; ~+ N) k. F' S3 K" L4 r
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

, k/ Z3 t: G- |' m7 I• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task * a4 t' j" E8 h5 U" o

Required Professional Designation / Certification % M% C0 P3 K7 I
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. % y; Q. |# U, J4 M9 E

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
3 `5 m. W: k3 ?8 {9 W) [5 O• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, # _" L. ^6 ?7 ^" n* U3 `' {

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting R9 |! D7 ^* s' C+ r! D
and financial statements; and
