Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 6 j$ y; H3 u' y' ^9 w2 ]8 N. g
execution of the YWCA Strategy

# b+ _4 P5 p+ u1 ~* e( b' F( U• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of * R& I6 M8 b. \( q; l6 r2 v
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
0 Z- `: [9 c& |2 fthe Board of Directors; 3 F, n/ G8 U1 O
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations & K5 A6 j. _7 H s
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ) Q3 c8 X! s( W- B$ ~
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
" s$ @4 I0 s$ m• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
* \5 F$ {1 R- e% X; P7 Qthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; % C8 ?" |/ g8 ~7 E+ d
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
$ i4 o" x; |, u7 @2 V0 c& T5 | ichanging needs of the organization and community; ( d' n" y* O! m3 b1 a# y+ p1 G
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
2 O4 J) q" B" h {+ r$ r# vcommitments; 5 t. N F4 L- L
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
2 @/ s) U- A( q& B' P• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 6 q1 a5 ~2 v3 c0 E/ T" B* F% H
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; " F- I6 m9 t1 J8 |% k! |1 i
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 7 W# \# z: N! u* u
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
: r5 K4 @) S+ o" Y8 heffectively and positively represent the association; ( M# F) n! o4 s y
?* F |2 \( o m2 v• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
- W3 u) \3 ?% S, L* I" vthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; `' p9 q) ]& B* [
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal % }( a' Y2 P" z3 }- v: i( f
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 0 M8 }" n: {( H3 S' k; d$ Y3 e7 B. ~
the forthcoming year; 3 _+ K8 ~! C3 }& l" q0 \
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical $ {' b( h" P( K& D% @7 C s
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of - a2 n2 e3 c" I) @1 R9 g/ N- e2 d" H

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Experience
9 j/ ?7 C$ i5 s s7 t• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
5 N, e4 {" s0 @0 R, L! B% ?( z• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ; T) t! v% R0 U/ Z% x- ]9 p
abilities;
' {5 z" Z: W3 }7 y. ~- L4 S• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
! F% ]! g! b8 n, f0 [- W* Y" F, iNetworking and Fundraising; & k: b3 \ _ n0 |$ n' d! D. w
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
3 A% v+ c6 t( w# J) \and financial statements; and
6 U7 R( L; }; L2 M! @2 y• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
