2 j( C6 I1 \" u# E# V2 ^% K% u• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
* P# _7 O# ~1 [# j" n6 B& w- g2 Othe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ) _, X8 k. x5 R( L' y
the Board of Directors; ( q8 i) R1 d+ e |! p2 c
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 5 H p4 A! n, u; k; R4 L
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 2 v7 W5 \' I0 Z; K, o
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ' `0 r8 U$ c9 {
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ( ^6 B4 b# K$ P$ o: v, Y
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
( x2 @3 n7 Y# o8 O- c( `5 t- m( uthe board; ; P- f9 Y/ A6 O# O8 |, e1 E
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
- G3 R: c6 `- P) i1 |$ \! ? Z• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion % F' u1 ]' S# r' ~4 a
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ! g9 |* F, u2 `; j g; v
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
) x% Y5 f4 i3 g7 _- Ichanging needs of the organization and community;
' Z5 a- G" b/ z/ J# ]) S% c C& B• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

' g& P* k: g, f& V) k; C• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
4 W' t6 i A8 G% V: p' k: ?• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 5 ]. |/ R! u3 R" u
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 3 n3 b2 f3 m8 P2 B( i& e
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

$ R4 Q( M- ?; z: _5 \, x" q• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
. a6 O3 a" X4 R, Uthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
; p; v7 z ?7 i. t$ I• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ( E' i! B" a4 i- Z$ Q9 q8 u
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED " v b& ?6 t2 J; g; V9 {
the forthcoming year;
7 g3 m$ Z3 C4 o/ t• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
( ?' U5 ]+ b7 |- [practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ; G9 E, n# w0 w) h
YWCA Canada; and 4 g/ V1 f1 b* f
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task
! T6 h( d# e' rForces.

Required Professional Designation / Certification , l e1 {: v! e% {! F
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

3 ^ H' a5 Q& J9 \• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ' K9 r% Y3 n4 \) N
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ) @& B7 k' U9 r* A: a# w7 P$ ~
abilities; " D# g/ A6 X S$ C* y
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
( ?. K; s+ E$ Q8 d- d+ k* pNetworking and Fundraising; 7 ^) l" c; M1 n# I7 b
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
, ^9 N/ g+ J4 d* gand financial statements; and
9 l3 A' J. R/ c' ~• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
