Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

4 T: J( g1 E4 w2 M( [( U3 vSpecific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ) _4 ]" l; {6 J6 v" b g" K
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
* \/ G& J, U i5 i; Rthe Board of Directors; 2 r O7 m2 R8 [8 U$ i
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
% p$ |/ {5 { x! l: Oincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 7 ?$ b% H9 K. _. J8 v- G3 ~- S4 Z
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
7 V: M9 ]- s# I- t• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
) F. N/ H' Y6 ~% v9 H0 Gobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

; V E# e- W. }% T* U1 N7 x# h% V1 |• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 6 B% V' u* I) R6 K+ H$ p) F6 O
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion % W, t |( O$ ?& e5 \
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ; d; B8 r" j$ ?% f
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
/ Y! i- E9 n# G2 c$ L, `changing needs of the organization and community; ( ?8 b1 H3 U, ~0 Q* z' l% j0 |
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
; o5 E6 [- D5 k) vcommitments; * X$ y' m' D! i7 Y
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 2 R2 |. J8 n3 `: [
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 4 j' Z, K) L' A( u2 p- S
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 2 Y% _2 {1 \( {

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
# U, \7 |2 k% h) i: n# @the implementation of systems to manage these risks; Y) z# R5 M3 S- @* }: p- L
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
# \" L6 i, L' G4 M) o6 aperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
- o+ U" }9 A# f2 Jthe forthcoming year;
- q1 |6 |( \$ j4 u/ |3 H0 {• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ; A8 H& R! f/ D* h5 N7 k& |2 K9 d c
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 6 T- s8 a. M+ j# J1 w' m- R
YWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. / K5 p9 G- B& u8 R" w1 _

Required Experience 2 [3 i9 ~9 o# V3 r
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; - y3 o% M5 H9 |! D# `9 |9 a
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
+ L( d5 O' ~1 q/ ^+ c0 iabilities; 3 q3 l3 M( H* t. ]9 d
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
+ U3 {4 {# O u2 bNetworking and Fundraising;
$ e- `8 y+ a) A9 _• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
& k" F5 f: C$ L% X- S, y# \and financial statements; and
; m/ ~/ S: y2 t7 |9 V7 Q4 F• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women 9 {9 {7 o7 s! ^ @
