Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ' D( m) I y5 Y6 [! ]8 D
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;

objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 6 v8 u# n$ C( X
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
& O3 i8 Y& n- S4 a& N0 mthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 4 b9 t; {4 C3 {2 [! q
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
, d! B# v; F. W" dchanging needs of the organization and community; $ B2 X* S# t' j: g
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue * Z9 i0 W1 r. ?% S+ ~0 C

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; + ^1 h h) H- x- g) k; Z8 J5 b# t
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 9 U# S8 Q/ z4 X
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
# q" |2 w% C8 o9 W4 k' e9 G( b• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 7 e# n; J+ ?. o- S( B
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to % S6 \. t) F8 y
effectively and positively represent the association; ; {6 d2 y, l5 _/ K3 l
# E: b/ z) [1 h4 W& e$ B• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ; X$ Q' {8 f/ h, [* N- v# W0 z
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; + r7 I9 i( a' Z2 x2 X
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
& Y. s& M3 x: K9 @& ~; v, zperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
! J2 e6 c. U0 \7 gthe forthcoming year;
+ s( a' r* T$ q* ] k• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
% `7 R: H8 u# M) \7 Dpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 6 w- E( V: z7 Z) z( p6 w

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 7 c- c% L/ x: Y" d9 S
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 6 L! o3 ^) e* [/ ?
abilities;
