this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

Specific responsibilities include:

3 [7 ~2 s3 {+ P/ d1 P* Gthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
' K; o7 B5 ]6 s5 V& P9 o" t/ I' Lincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 7 A5 ^+ g5 w( f6 m4 x0 a# b1 G
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
/ h3 B' e, L$ C6 w% n+ ?( rthe board;
, G$ |& \. K5 V; G4 I/ k3 r+ w• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 4 `1 ~3 C+ s" X0 h
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 5 h4 p* z; l- j5 O0 z( j; W
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; / J/ ^0 G8 r/ v' ?. r
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
0 U1 |) T( O7 K& u% Rchanging needs of the organization and community; # |1 N4 y3 t; E/ V5 U
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ! X* v. q, [" Q6 u
commitments; 8 s: o, J& j( y. q7 Z
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
9 Q) L* K, k: B• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
9 T9 y! d$ S0 W, c+ h% ?# p6 `6 n# uselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
! ^! n" I7 c# J) ^- ~5 E' v• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; % d2 y* U. n) t# o
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 8 g( ~2 c @; g- y3 B% }: G
effectively and positively represent the association; 3 o E5 M1 O1 y9 W% }( E! q

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 9 r* m. z b& U- Z% Z
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
+ C d5 K5 f- x0 u• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ) R4 o# R7 O* `0 L& D5 d
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
" U) x o" z9 [! p% Wthe forthcoming year; / a1 A, Y, k7 R }/ {
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical : E, D0 F$ a6 c; t7 J3 s t
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task 7 p( @* @0 y. i

- r' ~9 U: O5 A! c; c: Q• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

6 S+ Q, H j: H8 x/ g4 DRequired Experience % v: t; ^& \; i3 L: l# m
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 9 x6 P1 U& d/ n$ b5 ~" n! _
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
; k/ Z; y; R, e T5 G( `4 m. L5 Xabilities;
5 p ~) w1 h/ g# c2 n• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
5 x X- |7 b: m4 y# q" r, w2 UNetworking and Fundraising;
0 b3 E6 {: W9 h N; f' X* D* W" O• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting & e0 w- P, I1 I/ |8 N! t7 e
and financial statements; and
0 N3 r m6 R: i• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
/ P4 x' B9 f7 T$ w+ C: v- vcentered perspective.
