this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

execution of the YWCA Strategy " N. k" S3 u2 n0 I
( K+ Z% p5 X% ySpecific responsibilities include:

8 {* r+ n& f/ T6 Z• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
6 ^) O; D) T5 L) B, U6 g! s! Nthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
! S$ x3 P5 Y; l/ ]& e% P( ithe Board of Directors;
. t' g, L7 A& F6 r: V, |! h# P" Y• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations & q3 m$ R4 o7 g, i/ z7 \ J! g4 b
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 2 h8 s% G( u4 [8 _8 B* J9 ]5 s
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
. v$ y2 j) K+ @: S/ n• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
, \' X* A; u0 f! m% s' r0 k. pobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by / m/ S( h2 \8 h6 E$ K
the board;
5 P& r* m+ q$ \5 Y( O• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
' E3 E/ k9 ]5 b# H$ x6 z! U• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
1 @* B% f b, b/ Q' tthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
8 r. W5 u" K" F* Z) G5 V' M, y7 r• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

" p8 V' X- f; P. T2 G6 Y• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue $ `* E; l( v$ @; T) L

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
, \1 _& b+ l$ ]1 Q8 G- ?4 c• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
C( _8 M9 R2 D8 s' Uselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; % n! G [ X* J2 \/ Z3 l$ Q
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
: @$ _+ y& a! d- [1 _2 V9 `' x" v• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
/ y* y% I! X) P: [) K. _effectively and positively represent the association; 4 X+ e* t0 [# s" e
1 A/ [4 K, s7 N( A5 F6 f9 e• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
# K; h7 L' H" d# R) D/ m7 pthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 8 z- o$ a q; Z0 F; l# X- d* q" o. `
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
$ {$ X% a; i0 d2 U" L. c' t. {performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
$ S6 b8 \6 ~8 k+ [7 Xthe forthcoming year;
, a8 V h& {; m \• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
4 k6 p) h$ g) t, Apractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
6 {, c2 B& q+ t( n6 oYWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 4 }* o# E u% X% w k+ Z, |$ S1 o

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
; A X% ~8 n6 m4 \/ `3 u• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
3 o+ d7 A# L, w$ ]$ `% tabilities; 1 u! p; y, ]( Y1 W- A! l& r/ }
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, , e7 J# \2 ~$ g6 O5 H
Networking and Fundraising;
