execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

4 W& ~( u2 K3 [ s8 L9 \. ythe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
: Y9 J5 `4 H9 a1 d8 k5 wthe Board of Directors; 6 |" O( h2 @7 {
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
/ c* I, c: L: v& \$ K5 I5 jincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ' R; m# ?- h/ P( `
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; : d, f; g( f* s; ]( R% Q
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
; ?* V& v# f" ^& [objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by - y; J2 e; q; [
the board; 9 K# w: ^ F9 s k
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
9 t6 s% q7 F8 A5 p C7 D! H• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
0 z1 L7 _# i# E5 L) P2 Athe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; h3 k; |7 I t* t' [
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ' ~7 X$ m n* u! e' ^; q% M# o5 F
changing needs of the organization and community;
! [7 {/ Z1 V" T3 v m• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue / C4 J, f5 R" m
commitments; & s" ~( h- W; A9 r+ z
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; v% d( g- u0 G7 X
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
2 Z7 L1 Z% {. j+ uselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
$ Q4 E7 e/ S' W5 @3 n• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
- ]: E1 i: |& r" ]( A* g" C• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to @ z( }+ ~! Y+ l: E, R$ W
effectively and positively represent the association;

7 S9 |$ o* {, _8 m: E- ~• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ' K7 ?8 u& n: D. L. @
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; " X5 l2 p0 {' F+ N; L b$ e
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
4 I* ~) \: ]' v. Q/ tperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

' M- L$ [* h2 f( \. ^; Ppractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of " c" e* O9 V+ W8 ^# F
YWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
y/ l( P/ u; H. Z7 r• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
5 k: g: k& _+ O5 u) o+ O% [6 Oabilities; & B9 p* K) f! B* b3 \
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 0 H/ h& o# r- D% P1 T3 Z7 S
Networking and Fundraising;
) l/ P1 n2 [' C* J3 i6 [8 n. K• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
