this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and : K( b, D, A: @8 T: L. `% b4 m: I/ l' l
execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

! i* V X: x; J4 {5 j• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of % O- w8 h( z+ U: K% _; b8 u
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 8 B: @# L& V, N& C
the Board of Directors; # I! e) l! Z" S% P1 c
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
- r$ _% i+ A) t& Mincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
5 D+ c+ l: r! N! }9 jenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; " ?5 Q3 Q3 a1 Z$ Y. F
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
& k5 Y3 r6 h5 x9 b1 S2 Xobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 5 E! k+ l Z4 h$ y
the board; ( {, K9 v3 y; s; U e
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
- i& Y, \; b9 m: q# s$ I/ N6 d• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
$ o M) H# m* ^& |the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 6 H7 x1 W& |. w: \$ p+ h; U6 n
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
8 n, S3 X/ x) V7 E' ]* ?changing needs of the organization and community; ! G% ?: H: C; Z! f: [' R
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue % t" e3 P6 j: O! v( A
commitments; 1 P) f$ g! ?- z: g; q
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
/ l- U" f- b) E, h, {+ G) h0 J; P• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
8 Y9 K7 t n6 {. Jselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; f2 F6 F7 O: i7 Y6 y) Y$ W
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
" w0 `4 b9 f3 c4 X9 Rthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
( G5 d1 a& O j- C# q• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal

the forthcoming year;

practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ! g( b# F6 c$ R/ a/ u5 p+ a

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
# c1 r/ J* q4 P8 B+ n2 }+ c• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 6 \* f w6 G$ o; h
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation $ U! M c6 u0 A4 i5 h
abilities; ( A" k1 N6 F* Q
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
6 j- H* q) i) C/ X! W! ~Networking and Fundraising; " p7 E/ C' o4 _* V
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 3 w( ]0 e, ~9 ^ b/ u( Y
and financial statements; and ) k# n* h4 h. S) u/ v5 U0 M
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women / Q; X3 Z7 w' J, d, s: U
