Responsibilities

execution of the YWCA Strategy

/ d q `1 h% k• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of . `; B- u( z& X' U
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by % w$ M5 N& J4 P' Z: J y3 m* j' k
the Board of Directors; + w: \6 u) y5 r) `& I
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 8 K! b7 K) V& K! Y0 l/ K8 j
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion E8 G* S# c7 ]6 t: ~' a/ W% Y
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 7 x) i+ A+ P$ Z `/ r& a
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the # e0 z% L) D) z0 U
changing needs of the organization and community;
" Z3 `/ c! Z0 V! }% t- ^• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
$ D4 }8 m/ u; K; @, \• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective / K5 m; _4 n. n4 X; H% W
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
' L0 O3 y7 s: G$ O• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 5 ]* ?9 F4 U" w( ^
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to f/ A: o) c1 }
effectively and positively represent the association; 8 l8 G% k/ x! t& U. a8 v

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 5 N- i3 ?1 V, D2 K) g- p
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
0 f0 L+ w5 j* U% j% m• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal " l, S9 u0 }3 J. y% b
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 4 z7 _$ ]) E2 y6 V. O/ W
the forthcoming year; , k+ T" c0 J7 i1 e/ m
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical - Y/ T/ |; S. _2 D
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ! w6 s, ]* k: H/ b. j+ Y
YWCA Canada; and

2 B7 T; _9 p% L' y; j: @• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

' P J) ?# ~( C9 w6 d* ^+ ]' W& i1 N• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
2 B! L* |6 S0 U* K) N& S$ B, |& F$ |• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 4 B- E$ I% |. L# Z! S
Networking and Fundraising;

and financial statements; and
