Responsibilities

execution of the YWCA Strategy ' C+ w* D" o( s6 U

D/ ^0 D. B5 o2 {- g9 k: D• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
( u5 |4 s6 I* xthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

# ?$ g* ^' g0 s7 z• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
& @4 i( m0 X9 A; Lincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
2 B9 T8 t0 ?# e• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 5 V; y; n* H# k \0 t
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; / B& f& U+ n$ _" z2 X
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the " Q. y- A+ J8 q
changing needs of the organization and community; 6 T" h/ E% n- {4 N: Q) c
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ) `+ ]% V* f. o6 s0 [
commitments; 6 `: g% m! k% `9 w9 J/ t
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
& u. j3 n3 b; H• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ( u( R6 ]$ r; y: b: {
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ) w* R- I9 |5 s3 `7 c/ N- ~- q2 d3 I
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 8 |* }) G. W; x- k E; u# o
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to . n; [3 K! \1 E) ^% f( [: B& s
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 7 L6 ^; F7 z5 u; p
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
8 x/ ]6 W2 b7 Z! v2 E( q! Z) X• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
% D& h0 p' ?( w4 F. Wperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ( [( U, c* n0 M! k# V8 M3 S
the forthcoming year; % x% u- b7 T3 w7 ^2 W$ m
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical * K. G5 u$ a4 e" j! C
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification $ d6 N6 r$ j. `
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
- A" C/ N \1 D. C2 [, K& u9 V• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
% f |& D" p b6 N; K6 M2 c: r pabilities;
9 D. \* P: k& W# G• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, & S* ^; W A ~
Networking and Fundraising; ! v* P* L$ w7 T; L$ z4 L4 D
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 2 S3 z$ l/ k: o+ u
