Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 4 n) ?9 }' s1 {9 H3 c

Specific responsibilities include: 7 x2 @% z8 I" c

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
# O: V3 W1 |2 M5 w: ]. C( h O& \the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
: r% R0 ^2 C* _+ T; Ithe Board of Directors;
, e7 l& \3 J, v. u• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
; {. |3 I, \ V) k% X3 a. P0 v7 K: ]5 Mincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ! }! Y1 r# M5 r! Y0 H% j; W2 b, ]
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
' I7 T0 B* S, H- k' g• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 5 Z" s" Z4 E# z( g* ~; t% [
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion - F% s/ e( I! i J' \: P
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

. \9 ~. ?: {& Y2 p• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
8 s4 b) J4 Q9 C* ^. O8 c' [• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective $ P7 v; @# E& X
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
4 X+ r' u4 y" _ h" m* ~7 K• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

effectively and positively represent the association;

3 ]. V8 W R) F: Z- M7 x' `• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
9 {% \0 x4 w4 z1 B/ bthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
9 b' I$ U- ]- s! F5 B' G' R: ^• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
. t e/ b- M, w/ operformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ! P2 x' o- T; E3 a
the forthcoming year; 6 ], I5 @2 x6 {( O! t$ Y
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 1 w/ D6 K/ S& e: G" C) X
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
% v* O, V7 X, FYWCA Canada; and
5 q; \3 |# l9 K& \/ ^- b• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification
: F; I) I7 O' N7 M• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 5 y! A8 d6 Q/ s; u
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
& S. E6 u: m' r5 labilities;
/ N1 ?$ K+ E2 j5 l6 u9 A( I$ e• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
3 W0 s" V0 D/ `* [5 \9 G0 NNetworking and Fundraising;
; ]2 T `" n6 n& U |3 I: y• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
: i- x C0 z! X5 x5 e. Fand financial statements; and
