! m, X' J3 c1 Q6 h$ l9 @Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
( F* L* s5 k9 j- n' v0 gthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 4 T" {* p( N' D
the Board of Directors;
- [: ^5 a C8 L. H4 N e8 \• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
/ l# t$ K7 H! A- ?3 hincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to & b0 F) F" a3 B4 D3 b
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; . [- ~% u7 {' {; Q: u& x$ A9 J
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
( J$ |& A+ J; G* S+ pobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ( i& _; a# m, E
the board;
2 p: j* Y$ Z4 [! c {3 \) K• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
8 h/ ], ` Q9 I3 y• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
+ U1 D# V* c e$ s9 ]* Fthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ; N7 r5 o$ K3 ]
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
# \" i- u' A! K; ychanging needs of the organization and community; ) E& A/ _0 p4 N4 ?5 D. l. O
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
. d; j% }/ ?8 @commitments;
7 K+ C: o- s; W5 J+ @• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ) {/ G& @1 l" M3 m! f ~, X
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
' s7 t. H+ e- ^3 B' M% z0 ^selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
& ~$ x$ v/ @/ Q$ \/ D/ _+ S• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 6 }: s7 L. v0 d" B9 V' n; |" \
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
! I" H1 ~( [. Y3 Geffectively and positively represent the association; % b( ~2 H3 b% E3 k4 }! ?& G+ H

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
9 H0 B* C6 U- l$ m* P; Z" f ^the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
; k6 I4 G7 u+ X" i) a• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
; d0 ^9 a% L8 s7 b5 Uperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
% w) ~' M5 L5 qthe forthcoming year; " C7 s! L$ A3 z2 i" F7 n
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
/ `% _( z# s/ I5 l$ _8 zpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
' k3 A# f8 K4 p4 k5 BYWCA Canada; and
/ ]) P6 D/ P1 K3 }/ U0 @7 ~• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task 0 [' i3 b; Z0 m

Required Professional Designation / Certification
7 G$ p# J7 [8 k7 {! V2 j• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. ) w: ]5 y: |1 j: {, \
# E0 t5 U! r' ]% h& y5 A8 \Required Experience # o6 X$ A; C8 v6 T {
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; : Z9 t1 W9 t4 \ g
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation " W5 u* m! l6 _" e# V# n
abilities;
# B1 }; m) s1 }" }3 s( P& E• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
8 Q6 R1 M2 C8 B1 L! f; I( m, ^Networking and Fundraising;
# |- `3 \' {! s0 T5 j- j) i: Y• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
