Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and ( a3 H% e/ C: R/ v
execution of the YWCA Strategy * S9 s& N# y9 o. k
: A7 _0 w4 v2 r3 v4 ISpecific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of $ }: E# I2 C, p1 q0 \
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
3 H6 O% v9 u6 [* q' C e, Hthe Board of Directors;
7 j( C3 G% }4 C! w2 v/ d, l3 t• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
6 ?3 f3 ]4 V$ pincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
# Y$ m9 _ ^. O; X* zenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
' R# n8 `, v* O$ a! }" ~8 D) A% u Y• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
% G, t" P$ F5 I4 a9 qobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

% [- j. f+ e! U! M• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; % s/ E" }$ z- M1 _
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
+ i0 D( \# E* Rthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
+ V: m: J0 u" a' F• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 5 m2 @1 ?9 G( ?
changing needs of the organization and community;
0 S; \" O( y1 g. _! A• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
. D) n8 A+ h2 `4 O9 O• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective # ? m' Z/ w5 `8 `" P
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ; t% E) ^8 r! m) E9 z9 e7 N
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ; a' B$ P1 X s7 x: J* @, }: W
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

$ Q: E. j% |/ A7 F/ H- l: H• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
7 ?. P: q+ M( A, C+ O7 Othe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
' P, E; n" R. d. i( d9 D3 x# f. i# V• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical # A% u: }: c' S' [4 ? f
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 7 \3 C+ l7 x% f7 O2 ~. H9 `

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 1 u# E( j; p+ }8 M

- e5 |. x0 m8 }; s. D+ @, b• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
& ?% t8 B5 R) t• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ' }0 x* I y9 J) x- ~, d
abilities;
# m F; \# }$ _* a• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
; s7 J8 v. }5 S5 i& e, jNetworking and Fundraising;
( o- T* n4 Y3 G/ B, t• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting # x8 Q) r$ X9 S
