0 t& b. c% Y8 u7 ?+ P, [9 [1 y& ]# Q$ [( rthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ( h' P6 M+ R5 i% K5 Y0 b0 K* s* [

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 7 ]$ o8 ^9 `1 Q. ], E
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 9 R e. {( ]0 C; @/ [( ?! S0 B
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 8 T1 i# h. \) B1 o% o9 v
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
8 J" B5 B* t% Zobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
8 L; ]0 k( [# [; m! w+ U( v8 Bthe board;
& P8 H8 D' Y/ k+ k n4 v, j9 d• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 6 f7 m$ A# Y7 j" y6 }
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 4 R7 [$ ^( x. t9 _7 E
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 3 C% e- A% Y' i9 P
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the $ c( G) B6 Y6 L; C% e4 U" U6 A. H! H
changing needs of the organization and community; - U% i2 N; P$ p+ e: Q
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue / Z) ~& U# r. {0 y
commitments;
1 c1 j* d+ l3 ]. h! I& P/ P; }• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
+ w5 M1 u8 N; D5 x8 H* m. n• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 8 J+ P7 Z* i2 q! F* {, i
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 8 _! a, f4 {3 u8 S; K$ x7 m. @, ?, @
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ~! H. O% x- B9 a. [8 x
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 3 V W" D5 N( o9 U* E2 U8 L
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
* ?6 i& b/ b. T' K8 eperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ) j1 f) d1 ~" V; ]2 S. B
the forthcoming year; ' \" S: J8 |& m0 ~: l# ]
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
2 b! d* u1 ~) [4 q: Y' v- Cpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
; C! S/ @7 q" N# m# EYWCA Canada; and
# x& Q$ i3 Z$ d• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
( u2 v4 L4 T/ I F2 t• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; % m6 r% I! ?+ d- p! J
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 8 o1 v7 A: u' p- U4 t2 g8 M
abilities; / X5 X8 |/ q) P% n$ M! U+ B
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 0 H6 n' n; R; w9 b" R @
Networking and Fundraising; : @0 c# _& t5 {
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 0 G, z( \( t* r( M+ ]. [5 G5 b
and financial statements; and
