Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and : `8 s2 L9 f+ ^4 J7 L" r
execution of the YWCA Strategy ) {9 l# `$ f% O0 @3 x& o+ c9 r0 K5 @& x

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of * }7 E5 ?" c9 K7 ]/ O" U+ q
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by # W& F8 Y2 E0 \
the Board of Directors;
' n% P W O0 z! i• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations : p( L: [& Z6 S- @0 b; l+ i
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

' k6 M' {$ G7 \5 a/ l6 k( f- y1 H• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
4 T! F J% w$ ?0 p. u+ aobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

+ W- E/ l1 |" M- W• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ( }) F( ^- H8 i; b4 } r# N
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 0 e# e s- G0 t. U
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; \* O* K4 P1 M* }# r' f
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the $ D+ ?; s/ B* E4 }$ I
changing needs of the organization and community;
2 V/ A1 a) A- ?2 a8 d" s* H• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
G9 V n- ~/ F9 q. [• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 8 W% p+ l- y7 v" f$ D0 O
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; i8 }8 _( _* w* @. e$ |# g8 J3 K/ r# c8 t
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
( N' x$ E) O# Z# `2 f2 A7 U4 Y• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 2 h% L- Q) w; B( L7 e) Q: |5 C7 W' Z
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; : x* Q/ |8 A& x
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 2 Z/ s" h' G) `4 L; A/ K5 t) B
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED & F" r0 P/ \/ r
the forthcoming year;
5 k) d F5 q1 c% d) U• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
' m J- }% P6 W: z; mpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification 5 | b9 c0 n$ P5 [+ n f% v
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

7 A4 |4 J1 z7 h o( K' b# cRequired Experience
. v6 N/ m3 H* V' Z• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
2 s/ M5 w! l, d- ?3 ]5 A• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
r a/ Z* R. v. s- iabilities;
# p0 \5 o8 S8 l5 {$ @7 ^• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
$ Z7 [2 E9 F f% R, a9 QNetworking and Fundraising;
2 w) x' M" J! t9 ^• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting ( \, v1 a J( ^5 G$ J
and financial statements; and
