Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include: $ W g, G3 Q X0 z

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ' e) W- P1 m# D2 T( v d! H
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
0 l5 S/ R8 y9 V, ?" h+ g- ?the Board of Directors; ! L) I; A- X& W6 }# v; G
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
% X- g/ P- S$ n1 i8 {' {including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ) l" o, }3 L p1 b5 }- ]
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
4 F6 _0 I) {+ z• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
5 p4 v1 O0 z- n* a$ b7 O5 `. y7 B3 bobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by / q+ I# s$ k% q7 Z

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 2 y- _2 I4 r" y2 d0 ^: p6 r% R( Z% U6 l
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
6 h6 {/ M' B6 Y3 O. O, R, A$ ?the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
5 i& _* U/ K, z v1 l! z• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
/ S. y% I3 k- L6 U8 h. jchanging needs of the organization and community; + ?7 A- q3 w# h7 S6 v
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue / @* V4 Q' L- b& { M
commitments;
5 g! G% p+ x) {" G• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
- ?, N+ A; L1 T$ Q• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
+ s& J( h! J. N1 xselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 7 y2 x9 r* U; W
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
8 u7 \6 b; J# y3 X/ b• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
" \- b; a p$ w/ q& f" qeffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
m. z" r) n( ]. s! c+ F! K6 Ythe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
+ L) `" u( i+ z0 L$ @( g* g• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 4 E, b' [- K1 {0 Y0 q" o3 u
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
+ a& y7 r# e1 T* O* Wthe forthcoming year;

practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Experience
# `; P7 E/ S( A- ?& c. T• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
! y2 E+ {7 u9 C7 {8 Y+ l# [# k7 Q& w• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ; Q- n S$ p0 j& z8 y
abilities;
7 H$ B) Q- D# E4 K+ W• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
4 M( m# N* r% J9 |4 U c" z' MNetworking and Fundraising;
6 A' m6 l/ M) ^; O4 B9 B: [• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

centered perspective.
