this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include: 0 f+ p0 m* n, N! u+ D
0 i, }4 C( }6 v/ [• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of : P5 R% [3 H; T( S
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
T" J3 H) t1 W: o$ i& \the Board of Directors;
2 W9 L' x) C8 p% q8 s. @7 J& Y• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
! P K6 y0 Y( Eincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to , o- V$ g" D) }* h2 O9 l5 h
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
4 }% i1 j. T+ b& w$ R/ n• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 6 t7 }0 A" [7 \. l
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

% a& t$ F, k, k' H• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; $ E" }. b5 ?' M8 Q
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
6 D6 n- m3 V r, vthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; , g0 f- F' {+ `* \! A
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
# \3 M2 R2 C2 Z- g/ w: F) f# f: s7 [changing needs of the organization and community; 1 |2 s. `8 K* K
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue : O6 q \* S4 r, F0 u2 |; Y4 ^" Y9 n
commitments; 1 b* n" K! f8 a9 R
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
* h/ @- D+ A1 q0 U• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
1 T3 K7 |1 W( c7 b0 Sselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; & m* Q. {! m$ X, \. |. z
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
1 B$ w" B3 B7 e6 D8 b• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to # G( W- o$ L9 b
effectively and positively represent the association; ) u+ V, l/ k' b- g" }, n, U
/ U' g; T, I7 a• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring / `4 ], f+ I4 `- c+ a( l! F
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
( U7 S( }* ^; q0 w• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 3 J; U9 R8 Z( `5 l
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

* q& V" G3 X8 i• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical , D% p- ]$ y. T, N* r; I
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of : c! k' k$ q% `) ?1 W, |
YWCA Canada; and
# \/ W) z/ H! _: N; T7 m6 y, _5 A• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. . o- f2 \, y: a

Required Experience
" `8 ~2 \% y$ }• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ! X& }. x9 W% J
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

* f" v" {* }) j" ^$ R' A) B• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
. I2 N3 Z w( ?8 t( l5 g# jNetworking and Fundraising; ' f* w$ i+ F2 R# O6 V
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting . L4 `" N/ T9 C# F0 H
and financial statements; and
