execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

$ r N# N0 ] v* @# h• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of " B/ p6 _7 Q8 R+ X G
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
& v8 ~3 }4 x6 X- xincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
! ]/ @- L$ h' Q6 h. Lenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
: J, z) G% j% j* Z• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and : N, Y0 d4 K8 F1 Y, ?5 W
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; + p) A& ?/ ?& m( j" ]
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ; ~9 h: v$ S+ M- X% T b0 t# ^: O
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
3 n, v, m$ A8 R5 x# I S$ s• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 6 z$ W: L: u; H0 q( I
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
! X3 V: p7 B0 W! F& @$ W1 I! ~selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 8 [# W i' c( u( W+ ^8 q
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
/ T3 q. U/ p7 q* e$ c• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 7 F u2 W4 s+ d5 O
effectively and positively represent the association; ! Y% E0 _* f, b/ u1 N

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
. \3 \! b$ V' y+ _7 {, S1 _the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
; V1 e3 Q, o4 b) n s" L• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
7 |* D6 k( S% s7 L4 |performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
* K7 S3 d8 o7 U! E; i! d% Y/ Qthe forthcoming year; ! _/ ^) O: w8 R, b9 l( V
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
% c0 v/ i3 G* r$ e$ i5 t) npractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 9 B7 [# j) L* P8 J& {
YWCA Canada; and

Required Professional Designation / Certification

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;

abilities; 5 y6 ~2 G2 I5 d% d1 h
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, # [! m/ O# ~+ ^, u4 e
Networking and Fundraising;

and financial statements; and
