Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include: . ~7 s6 @) k: H# E5 x! l

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of # L/ R- y. a& x; D: i' {3 k0 _& Y+ O
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
' \4 e8 s6 n0 \0 D( J& D9 pthe Board of Directors;
! m2 R! T6 U9 ]& c0 H• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations

enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;

objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by * v2 u" D* B+ T1 F4 S

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
5 l& {7 Z% \' h; V: u& n* ^' @• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
7 V7 E, D& p# Lthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
3 N, p7 y# ?" l7 G9 W• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue . M; I/ \7 [9 \6 |. d

3 M# X& m! ~* U• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
7 O; q2 H7 M3 X• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective

• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring + G" R/ \6 x+ j1 A( C
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 0 ?. z3 n$ a2 o
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 0 y6 \& {9 d$ K2 _1 a# a
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 3 t5 g0 a! S/ j! p
the forthcoming year; 9 c; m7 Q4 E* Y
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
" \, y7 V4 B2 i$ Tpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

. Z; R* D. H T9 y c- Z• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 4 E, n& m2 M2 j6 V* I- |8 X) q
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 7 m* ^' j+ q/ Z( j
abilities;
/ n% {. `9 W5 f/ H9 G3 b1 x1 z• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, : B& z) S, \ g+ A- K" D U

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
