Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
) ^ e5 R: R5 S! }5 j/ m$ iexecution of the YWCA Strategy ( H' S# C( T }3 g/ p" I4 f# t& e7 x* I

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
* f6 X$ B/ V6 G5 Rthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ' O4 j9 j& [) z4 I/ o8 h1 c, i. B
the Board of Directors;
% Q* @! s `5 X9 b: q: C• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
# ]3 I; B; y7 @+ C eincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ) ^; R3 s& |6 A
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ' l6 b7 q; h& M$ h! F' x
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and / `/ ? k# B6 X% P4 r
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
* K( b2 ]- a" ? R5 Ethe board;
' ^! ^, B B9 {' g4 W• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
5 W; c5 Z/ B9 U• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
, s! u9 j' w( U( Uthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
# I. c+ [# f/ Y3 O' B• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the B3 ^1 `* o6 v7 r- d
changing needs of the organization and community;
5 t5 e$ F( g* ^• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; * v. V6 e. J& ?3 x, n6 a& Z; T
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
v7 h( z. }; n' A8 ?' ~: b; \9 kselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ! n$ C% j( h) M0 |0 m* e7 Y# M
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
& Z: Z8 w! z* Z• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 7 T2 }% J( _/ j V4 b
effectively and positively represent the association; - D2 M# i) e; f& z" B

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ( P Y, }2 e6 U6 r5 a6 V
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 9 p) [$ `" @ B8 `1 @/ V) s
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
' [+ D" P- X+ n' a4 O8 {& dperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED & \ S9 T, L# T7 g& [2 F6 @1 I
the forthcoming year; / u& k. g! r! M" T6 D9 \) Y6 G
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical # f4 s; {, v0 l/ ]& [9 V4 s. a# L
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

0 x4 h8 n5 ^9 t& V" w$ V- [! @• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

O6 x6 m7 h% a7 T: m• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. % s6 b8 ^6 b" W7 M2 F

Required Experience , n( ~" a( m( g% p# Y) H+ C0 U
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; " w- w8 k0 B* k
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
) _4 N' ^* m* F8 d) z1 u1 labilities; Z/ b$ s9 o/ Q: l
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
9 ~5 y5 V' ?3 ]Networking and Fundraising;
) n) H0 w( ~) T+ t• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting % J( n5 ~. V' |, C2 G
and financial statements; and 0 v# }- t( s" o8 @
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women ! k' J' n& r5 S6 P2 F0 |4 c _3 n
