Responsibilities

execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
# x' i5 y9 |, U% Bthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ! W( }, M& \; M
the Board of Directors;
. R% [8 u/ ^* W& ~; v# r• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
% T4 M6 H# v6 L9 B' s( I7 kincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 4 p4 g- R4 m" u- e- o
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;

9 { Z) T2 N/ q: {; `, Iobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
: a0 e2 W3 P8 h0 i. z• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
; Z Z+ ?( q7 t0 }! Ythe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; * M3 T0 M, R% P! t W3 U
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
3 D9 o0 L5 X Pchanging needs of the organization and community; 7 M/ N& _# N6 u9 g
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ' D: ~+ A% E. p: B0 g' F' K' w% q2 l
commitments; ) X* ]+ `' t# U; I
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 1 E6 j J6 x! Y( }
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
/ w: c! v) [9 B C( z; q( n+ k; ~' m4 vselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
$ l! o/ c7 U, A3 \• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
+ c& E3 q; L* Y0 L• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to * K7 b* c+ g' C% |) H4 R# G
effectively and positively represent the association;

the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 0 I! g n4 G" S$ Y% {# p$ x
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
0 \1 n8 W& i3 s2 S$ `7 |performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 3 R: q% _5 Z \3 z
the forthcoming year;
0 O+ _, X% ^4 `• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical & [3 V* w) v/ Q$ p) T/ I, e* Q& K
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of & d7 w: T/ m0 k# H6 S% `. e
YWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. - ]6 n4 L5 p, H9 q8 ]6 d4 q

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
i/ [% B( e& n• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ) `' Z Q+ X- w7 |$ F
abilities;
/ e$ w) @( Q' v• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
! r7 m1 ]& u& O; DNetworking and Fundraising; , K8 ]1 J2 P# A* Z& {: ^
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting / s2 ~: c$ y, m* n) F3 ~/ G
and financial statements; and
