Specific responsibilities include: 4 ?4 C; {5 \+ @2 N8 A6 {8 S

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 0 f z E; u& x6 ` G. p* B
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 2 u! y! U- w+ o" r
the Board of Directors; w4 a: G$ Q* ?+ d9 B
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
5 O' f4 x8 G* [( a6 N9 sincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 9 t/ _* R7 N- s- m/ l3 i
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ; }9 d7 F" x( j" X" W# H( h3 s" c
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
% Q! B+ R$ ?6 ^) a* @( qobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ( P0 }! a" m# ~

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
' p/ B2 w6 [; m! L: m( | X1 D• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
* F, d* N0 B6 ~* Y ythe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 4 ?% y, z& X+ Z& e5 H
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
) Z2 z, m6 e1 A n9 Gchanging needs of the organization and community;
8 e/ \: {: B( b) I' a( S& t• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue # O5 E. B8 ~1 w; a* H% K& C- P8 K

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
n. M* x1 U7 A- L. @( L% M• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ) B) x, U5 m. I+ C& s# V
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to ' Y7 ^2 ~! o2 y1 s- l: A
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 6 l7 V3 j- v- ?* D- M% q
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
( [+ s/ G: A" I1 o) h• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 3 ~5 I8 E, t) J$ p
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED " y: s4 _, A4 e' _% u0 I% W
the forthcoming year;
" u1 @) ^: s) q• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ' @* }5 }8 |# p7 {9 r/ P; n
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
" C. N" y3 ~" ?$ V• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 1 N D3 c& K$ {
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

; E1 ^$ p/ ]& A* t• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, & s: j1 Y, m6 e1 p' t3 K

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 5 T7 \4 H+ e* Q# ^; {. \

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
