The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

: R- R P' J. d• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
* T$ h% M! P& Qthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by $ T/ p" C3 h, A, W
the Board of Directors;
. B5 S) z, S/ U0 e6 b x. U• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
- z! t2 S: `, @including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to # v" C" P( z$ }/ O
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 5 C8 R& N% E8 j c" d3 o
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ( s4 q: B2 ?8 R$ E' M9 @# \* I7 E1 ^
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

) D; Y. q) e. G* I• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
# j4 o2 M6 Z0 j# _/ f7 U9 V/ i+ Y• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
# d7 Q7 |5 R2 ~) Z' E1 K# W% Othe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 1 W) _# @( X6 M! v) W
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
6 F" _. o4 g+ gselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
5 T1 t, T) F1 |! d- K• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
( R) S7 n# l9 o vthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; , _* V; D, f! Y% v
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal T+ E6 N8 S* | e0 ~, d5 D" W: v: m
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 1 H8 l+ b. O) {$ z
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Professional Designation / Certification
3 I" E5 l0 o7 M8 b* \• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. $ b% s1 I" x4 p0 o

Required Experience 9 ]+ G& P4 K q, y5 U* A" _
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
, L% ~, u1 h U8 T9 z• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 4 f. ~4 M0 h2 @8 t
abilities;
8 i5 r- ?! ~8 [% X; R) Z8 ~3 B• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
