Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

8 B9 H) Q( F3 s- H b• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 5 I# e3 }* l' D9 A7 o: q* i
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

& {5 {- y. _' s9 j' M% z; B3 ?• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 7 P9 c& O' y) Z, `7 \) l- s. `) M
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 1 g/ ^) D+ N5 v0 i) |+ O
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; % W6 f1 S3 @$ b- R8 t/ m
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 0 A9 s3 [, H% \- j
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by % h' Y9 T3 r% S) P; V C X

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; U* B! h- P+ h) {+ U0 @( L
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion

changing needs of the organization and community;

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 5 q+ c/ |7 R+ w: r4 \) y
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 1 s6 A' l3 f3 d$ C: ~" c
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ; n/ j7 ~1 ]. @. U2 Z$ h) M; C
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 3 t/ B! Q8 _: l5 k8 E
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
) m% W; L' s- |5 e, B/ F& n: E4 W• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
/ O! w/ _6 v- Operformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

" |) N! G0 s9 R# z1 L% @' O7 B2 d k• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 7 P7 ?: P9 g" E, \ W
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 4 c0 S: A$ ?# j
