execution of the YWCA Strategy

- p8 q, p8 m( C* N& b• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of * J0 K: q$ w: b3 S [* v
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by $ B8 L8 [ r f* C! Z% z% g
the Board of Directors; # U# m9 d* M& f1 E* X
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
" f' _) p0 u2 R0 zincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to * u8 \ C% s0 O% B0 F$ s- R
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
0 t8 W/ h3 c9 |4 |• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 1 L0 a3 b( N! Q$ h, W/ v, `3 E9 H
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 8 R" M' d' \6 U3 b% c
the board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion + v1 Y, i9 g0 Q* J3 s! l% X
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
6 C, J: c$ @& T, g* g( }• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 0 L! s: v/ k: r/ j
changing needs of the organization and community;
4 D4 e/ Q9 a1 A• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
) Y ^) s) g! m• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
9 J& _9 H) {4 x* Qselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
8 \' f. j% J( U. Z• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
8 @1 x# x; T9 Y; |4 W* a0 \• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
! m% F4 |4 I* D6 fthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; & L4 Z; \0 G# ~5 l4 m
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
5 {) V/ \. \4 O) S! Dperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 1 f9 Q6 K2 b2 M1 }5 }, H
the forthcoming year;
3 t7 f% C+ F" o• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical c P: J, r1 T. W2 {; H4 F
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ! q: p9 @. a$ k
YWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 3 k# ~% I( v; S% A% Y( x- y) I

) k/ I9 Z' C8 Y- n) j• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; " P, [% B. j/ L/ n' r
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation % P: h6 L. T0 D
abilities;
1 Z" j" H2 O/ P1 W+ x• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
: g' o# F5 i6 l) j M! PNetworking and Fundraising; ' P) n0 ~: d( U2 P! W o% ~
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 6 M' T4 G/ \1 X5 s9 ~
and financial statements; and
% ]" I: \* i5 e• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
