Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

7 m+ a. ^5 [- M4 {8 y/ M8 u9 _; FSpecific responsibilities include:

- j. I4 d* w2 z6 }. d* y' D• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
. E$ \8 m. g1 k7 g% Uthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by $ Y9 o# @3 I! E1 a6 K
the Board of Directors;
7 X- \7 ^7 N h# `6 t4 x) M• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations / O5 W1 F; H$ U4 P6 {
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 6 ~2 z' j0 r$ `& q8 b! G
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; % F3 v& Y1 f) E: Z- ]3 `, L
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
. |% b/ L% g8 u! [, F& }$ Gobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by % {# C0 P9 v- h
the board; 7 U S' W2 m) p
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ( t+ Y/ O8 h3 L" g2 E* m
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
$ {7 V, K3 A' ^' q, Z9 Othe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; / d1 G& H' {) m: V1 Q! r
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the " y% T2 Y" o$ r: C) x2 p6 x
changing needs of the organization and community; , I9 n6 H0 g. O
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
6 e2 L( s z- S* }% Mcommitments;
; x( s* Y1 X( X8 j• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
. l# f0 ?, C0 _& b' t• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ( w1 k( y( m, T/ [: D2 X. |
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 5 M) s7 R' u3 D- K
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
: a7 S+ t6 r# Z5 _• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ( `( A1 t7 L% ~( ^+ E9 L& W
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
! o9 \) s$ S# T' f ]• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
0 [( u7 I: h" ~9 U7 aperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
) j# }# c! `9 Fthe forthcoming year; ! G& C6 Q. ^! p! ~3 }. b6 L
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
' ^! v# ]5 ~7 O5 Dpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification
2 T" u+ o2 o6 \# G6 m• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; . Z7 c4 o' s2 p" [4 e7 P, `
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
& [( r% C! T9 nabilities;
! V8 Q: O4 C4 G2 y2 E• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
: ~% }, m- i: V, w5 NNetworking and Fundraising;
# _9 [1 _6 O0 R" H• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
; z+ w: B4 _, [and financial statements; and - p1 K& }8 ~% `; F9 I: c
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women . g" _1 H, n8 w
