Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and . j" q: ~& r, k( \$ l/ f
execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
9 J2 p6 L: B& }$ }! Qthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
9 D0 |# o+ C l e8 f' V" ?: cthe Board of Directors;
5 d3 I7 v4 V! z7 s6 |• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ; n' S9 ~) h: t0 t; ?! {8 B' }
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
e7 p+ w% t4 q6 k1 Z3 N( j0 Penable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; . e- J; [' b5 Z/ X, ]4 i) x# w+ e
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
- E: O4 K: [0 @$ p+ n# cobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ! k5 C. y# O5 @ y, @. l8 B
the board; F6 j( U/ H$ R% z. V; [ F
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ) G' m1 i- y: r
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
- ^9 w1 {. q7 D' v& d4 Zthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
& a5 k: P1 W6 [ o- b5 \6 S& Y4 N; v/ V• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ) H% A8 l4 u- A+ u& q
changing needs of the organization and community;
( z$ p' L: N- j; B; a! _- J" u" _• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
4 v$ _) u+ g$ u3 O# {$ jcommitments;
: g9 n& X! b" a+ }• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
3 U1 u" X) ]3 @' H2 n, ]- `- B• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective " ^0 O$ P- Z# o1 R, y# c
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
% }5 D% J p2 c! _3 x' }3 j+ Deffectively and positively represent the association;

8 X+ |2 I5 t1 g3 j6 R$ H• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring

• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
" q( d' n% Q$ y# D" A' I* ]performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical

YWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. ( `% q+ {7 w+ d0 P4 z0 F6 Q0 n
6 K4 M! X, C. p- U3 f2 T% ~$ a0 TRequired Experience 2 B2 a# J& i- r# L
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
g; u. O! ~! W• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
! b& u4 w! _3 V/ Q( g6 G; Babilities;
: |! Q& h4 J; [7 S; ?• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
