Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and ! y/ W" A# c; k0 d# n

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 0 i1 E4 N( {! c
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ; H2 [' q2 z S S
the Board of Directors;
4 @; C7 }0 h8 r1 i• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ' [! f) C1 G9 O
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 7 O4 P, x: o) o9 ?0 ?
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; + G0 R3 J5 W9 r T! r5 ~
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 2 W6 P, n# H: f. [$ r5 ?3 ?
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ( ?6 Z2 A5 O- k! |" U
the board; ' ]1 c" w+ G+ |3 c+ @: o
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; " _& r% E# y7 ?( \3 r. W3 M' Y
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ) K( f' C! i% A- M
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
/ G4 K) P% E* y+ @• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
) c) M2 x$ Z. n2 P5 }changing needs of the organization and community; ! G" ?, C% P! i# O; _$ n9 L
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

) h6 W. k6 m7 e- p• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
% K$ l3 d6 T: T• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 6 [2 B2 {8 u- W
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

2 d% e! u/ L) n• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 4 `% W2 f: l$ W( K6 b: C
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; ; x9 \6 }: ^$ F6 e9 t1 ~
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
$ B1 @+ v% H( n1 k1 b% wperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 3 P9 T$ b7 D6 U, H2 y
the forthcoming year;
' ~: a) x& H+ ^& {, b• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
" A' c5 @% ^3 U vpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of $ _6 Q. Q( _' @# H2 J. E4 W5 M

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification 8 c/ v. _7 O9 [- n9 I' r
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 1 J" I$ m6 C" Y1 F
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
