Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
: B3 I6 M4 Q! s9 `- lthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
0 {4 D: i& B( ]0 [6 pthe Board of Directors;
" Z1 B3 [1 V' K% b1 c• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
7 p5 C. c1 T; E5 m. \including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ! C9 `& O& _& f' x6 M; a4 z. v
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; E. _2 t/ R, R( M" \, F% H
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
7 q t. D% W, r' aobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 5 r& U; [# S8 s0 K
the board;
4 @, q4 V1 p, d. w: r9 k• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ' t/ r( N( [4 O* J, H5 ~; u: r) B+ x
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion $ p9 J) Q, ~0 x
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
2 U' _- E- ]; O& ]• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 0 ^+ V7 g* w8 p% G2 b, p
changing needs of the organization and community; ; }2 @# |! O8 `1 h S. j
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
4 v- q) N5 M ccommitments; + e6 l+ r9 A+ Z$ K' p
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
# t! ~, p7 K7 k, ]• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective : K2 b( Q0 V" t
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
# V- x9 L) }* {: @! [# k• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; . g" s( T- {1 J$ m
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
% i3 P) g6 Y' f$ k _. o1 ^8 Leffectively and positively represent the association; # Z% n: E2 Q. k$ a0 l
& R8 {/ ]1 ~; n$ ` Y: q* G8 f• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
0 Z2 s$ j0 ]# ythe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 1 h$ F. ^0 G) V
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
1 S1 f$ | W9 Rperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED + s$ `" G) o& o4 g; _# }
the forthcoming year;
0 D. Q7 _' H& z! `4 y• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
/ _# F& t% [- mpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ) K( z; d$ Q( U8 Q3 o% J$ ]- v4 c( P

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task 0 Z) Z q/ x9 e" k: M- }6 h8 u' Y

Required Professional Designation / Certification ! q- L4 l7 M. _- H
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience K' e$ W) @) s3 A7 e8 [5 M
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
- ^! N& x0 U; @9 F$ S2 o• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
$ O: t! K8 ~- [/ K; j; \abilities;
& f: {& G4 O" B; H% Y1 w3 y• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
, i% x4 ~" t2 C+ uNetworking and Fundraising;
$ L# h$ i# f; n7 g8 i• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 8 d$ |$ W" D) a# R
and financial statements; and
3 j2 x$ G+ N, {% F2 q4 o" z• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
