Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and . q; a) t! @6 z5 p, I

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
: \. P: H) Y; }0 G1 sthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by . r( y( S( C, r. a
the Board of Directors;
6 Z; K4 B: p0 t) K% }: p• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
2 X5 \* b( s; d% p, X/ s' rincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
?8 A4 C- G" f% zenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
7 {$ N, m; X3 r• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
6 S6 |7 i! O( X5 d+ m1 zobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 9 a/ k& w; e9 ^5 r, z8 T. k5 x
the board;
: T$ |* y' y* X f3 h/ U• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
+ ^4 V" L0 a/ C( H5 \$ s• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion . p1 s9 Y' I2 X8 I3 ]7 a4 Z
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
" i* i) ] a- e' y- p! H• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
( @& ]- I+ U$ W5 U' ^changing needs of the organization and community;
+ T' Z0 b* D" q• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
y2 H# E T6 c0 p$ bcommitments; 9 m" M" o% H* R1 H% l- V4 ^
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
9 k' S! t W* u• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
3 F7 y: E5 q- w" Iselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
( `( ]$ [6 i* P* F6 S• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
, N, A }7 A! c& s• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

, U+ x+ i; Q2 Z• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring $ B% g4 Y& O7 l1 q5 U* @' l) p7 ~# t
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
* q' |* M4 [+ G: O0 K3 J/ N8 G1 y• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal * V/ T: K5 ^) E' y7 @8 Y
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

! U8 f2 D, i6 h3 L! }2 V' \• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 3 N4 N; ]" G% [/ w- F4 V& l

) @8 j/ s) }$ n( x" p9 m5 {• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
) R0 R* z- r- C' i- n% O( c V• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation - v9 R& F# @* r" S3 L$ F+ J
abilities;
8 U0 i) e' {9 u/ y2 K1 l• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

and financial statements; and
