Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

) F9 ~ t' l* O) o J. V2 cSpecific responsibilities include: # `+ y. A: |8 ^8 |" G* m5 |
8 H! E, G5 g5 B, p2 e; X& L8 P$ b* z• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 1 P* H9 H) w5 |3 J! O; K( d+ K
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
( T4 {& {# ? f4 Sthe Board of Directors; - y0 O* J0 } O% ]
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ( E8 V5 A) k v5 [$ G1 {: ^+ k
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 7 R l$ K( G3 X& X3 o" c! o
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
- j9 w8 V* H, N+ H, y& R• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
' U, J# a7 \5 s. ~objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
* d; ], m- S, Kthe board;
3 Y! h( d* n% X; D, d! {0 t• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; B$ a5 r$ ~. I/ b; y: j$ O8 f n
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
9 Z4 T7 p' |/ V0 g8 [2 Lthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
7 Y. }1 s; Q# H# K% O% p3 V" y• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the " u! }( x+ k6 C C
changing needs of the organization and community;
: J- g. E0 c" U2 {) ^- O' J. Q2 N. D• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
' P, C: [1 u4 M8 \: M8 B% \2 C9 zcommitments;
3 h; W; D, n7 [' ]/ o• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
$ j1 Z, n8 e3 X, G• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
; }& F" N1 \9 N1 K6 ^* Aselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; % h+ y3 X6 D8 `
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
8 b4 W4 e- I% Y• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to % I( q2 s- H/ s8 T
effectively and positively represent the association; $ G* [. I$ M+ q* t2 e
6 p- e. p3 l6 o- r) h( w• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
: A K; M2 E; A9 e' e) [- n$ p" g5 }the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 8 a6 s" n' X* g
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 2 ?1 U% N) \" i( I9 q; u4 ^" X$ D) U7 Q
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
$ T$ J4 J" N* g4 I8 r% |1 n; pthe forthcoming year; % Q0 z7 h5 P( h3 _: ?" R: X
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 2 t y1 j E: Z/ o
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;

and achievable with realistic timeframes;

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

- M0 D d9 y' P# r5 t& l1 i! |• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 1 V4 U# ^* L+ ?! E
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
$ n! }2 b5 Y# J9 {- R7 p+ labilities; ' h6 \% |: N/ f7 P* B
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, ( ]. g" p- N$ r4 `: ~
Networking and Fundraising;
, B8 k7 [5 E& U4 T• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
