Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 4 b- y! V9 i% S& Z7 t0 `3 q
execution of the YWCA Strategy ( g5 B% B8 @& g" V8 q7 B6 ?- ^0 P

2 {' z# Q% K7 v$ q+ n( kthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
5 z; h, W; T, [- sincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 5 B8 m" j+ o1 b9 M5 K0 B1 L+ c
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;

objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 9 ~6 v( O$ q( [4 c; r0 p! D

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 4 k# B* ?1 G9 K& O; ]4 _
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ! S7 I( u# h8 y1 v
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 9 T2 B) j1 ?; A
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 4 Q: E% T3 z+ U/ t2 l: c- ?9 P2 E
changing needs of the organization and community;
" w+ `' T& Q+ P% i• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue , v5 h) x/ h# _8 I. \% a3 E: {

% ^) [! Y) f* d z' g! N5 q) D• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
3 s& Z7 b" `( K6 B2 n' ]selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; , L* P1 U" ^0 I$ V9 `1 x/ R
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

' S. D) L; y- U• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ! A/ c a: y K& l. T
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
% T$ @! x, a& b& E! n) i4 K. F• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
4 L+ y% C, q$ q+ g8 S* Mperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification 9 b3 W; F+ e2 j- J
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 4 k& A: S. M3 ^: t0 L" R

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
- h$ d r% k8 v$ ?! s• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 2 S9 }! e9 B% I) ?" H% q0 x
abilities;
