Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and : s) h* N. |- ^
execution of the YWCA Strategy * P" h$ @/ u4 Z/ e/ ?; O0 a

& w0 @& |+ e7 n | U" B/ _• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of : C V. E; [8 X1 P; d5 v* ~
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 8 \: R7 _, S; |# S4 O1 v- L
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
' @" P1 X1 m% i5 R/ D( b6 xenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
: r# t7 j- W3 p `; H! |( g• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and , Y* r$ B# B6 o" T: W; l/ q8 M
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
: K' r! p8 d7 t! U• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion . }2 h: E/ A! p7 b& Q5 c l! W5 t
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 4 v ?8 Z. {$ E# B8 X) {
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ( V6 a1 I9 a K5 J) g
changing needs of the organization and community;
/ v9 s; @3 {2 T: ]5 J, c# o• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
& x5 h" K( G' [0 M9 f& Kcommitments;
* S3 C+ F4 L* }% I) B; I• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ! w* g1 L$ X, W2 g" h4 |, y
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
; y7 v! L* A1 ?7 ?5 Sselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ' y2 o0 n9 I7 B# R: m. a
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

& U0 { y6 G, ]7 o4 P% C1 ?' beffectively and positively represent the association;

- i8 {& E' k9 z& w) H/ }• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring * _7 k7 i$ M8 A5 a) h: _8 h
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
- x" A% b9 x8 [• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 9 e9 `/ b# ~. T! b. d5 O
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
& w6 m3 n4 ^2 J$ z: K- E) dthe forthcoming year; + F$ Z9 s& _' ]0 @2 d/ D$ N
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 9 S+ M) k% ^2 _9 G7 ~1 P3 z
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
0 B6 t" ~" `) yYWCA Canada; and

6 F G5 n( j* L3 k. ]• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
/ n( c* G. R" B. r* ?• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 3 i$ D- f6 q+ D8 T3 I
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
, n6 t3 ?& ^; f( r3 k2 zabilities;
- k- J' y) W% k+ q• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, ) t7 N; R! R1 I- d2 T' T4 B; ~
Networking and Fundraising; , ^* B D9 s$ m9 I3 Z& F: u8 i; ^
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 1 Y/ \: {+ D$ W( P" C; X
and financial statements; and
/ _) N, Q8 D4 v+ R* E9 X• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
