execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 8 d* o3 X. ~# H' ~
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 0 v \0 c' _, w! x7 L: q8 |
the Board of Directors; ; y8 @6 e. c! i7 D
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ) G# A! U9 b+ e4 J
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to , {* x+ Y% s5 b* g# s6 R* q
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 3 c T X$ {9 \& U4 @! e$ G$ r' S
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ) W7 J$ X- q, J" R/ O
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 5 ]* N& |. D2 S6 O
the board; # L$ r) y$ x1 W; O0 t$ y& N* _( F
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
& p0 i/ |, ~# L6 ]: W# V• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
' ?, @$ A& v3 ?( B' ]the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ! A X3 r2 u1 ]1 n9 `1 N6 H2 ^
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 9 w/ M/ u7 X+ b9 U0 R9 W
changing needs of the organization and community; / ~2 q7 @" U+ g& I @& J( A
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
- W; v* H9 R& S9 Z" O/ P! K* Mcommitments;
0 B4 @' [! c7 |3 J, e• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ( F0 |. U% \8 x& r/ P
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 7 F: _; a, n3 i; O5 X$ M
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
3 o3 \% w& g/ ]3 G• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 0 m3 C" `6 s4 U- T' I) v9 n. T/ N# ]6 B
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
& _5 K" S# F& E* H; |8 peffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 9 k7 ~9 m8 ~* C+ `8 e' Q
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; b6 d+ p' ?5 ^
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
' N3 {2 T8 I% j6 n+ kperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 8 t5 T. H$ t9 N. ?! p0 L2 ]
the forthcoming year;
. L _0 K' ?% n5 D* C/ }• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 5 p: U6 w+ X2 B; M
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ) L' e7 A0 \5 d7 F V( n
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ! c @$ v. q: Z# h. ~$ p& Q
abilities; / Y" t. \, D; Y' o% M; j9 u j' V
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, + _ W" ], I/ e* G* I3 E f
Networking and Fundraising; / }: \; D5 i3 I2 F' G
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
