Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and " o( o0 O' G# J+ z$ g3 S
execution of the YWCA Strategy ( U2 W1 [# `/ v5 }' C% {2 W

Specific responsibilities include: + H9 g/ m0 P7 f+ d' v: K( y- j
' c9 b- b+ z9 d+ Y; J3 Y. h5 t• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
! }9 D8 J0 _- L" ^( i; Jthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by # O8 y9 F. m, ^! ?& D

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
% Q; @0 l4 @, D) K8 T) Z( j4 V8 Tincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
/ D0 Y' R& ~; q( f/ y5 `enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ( i" L0 H' Z2 O) N
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
2 W* @# f% j5 `4 wobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by : R) M5 W) b$ Q
the board;
; ]& m6 {+ |! E3 I w% |• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ) P- a- H' @0 g. Z
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
9 G6 i) ^: F* }( h; P) M: i+ Mthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ; X0 u8 `4 D6 H+ W. @6 V- Z
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
/ [+ \ s" T5 @5 k3 H) u; Schanging needs of the organization and community; ' V& i/ a5 c9 R/ v
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ( Z2 i9 v/ p9 r6 r- o+ v
commitments; 7 z, t1 N5 ]0 P/ ?
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
! y+ R) {3 A0 q. f0 B! a+ ]• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 8 u2 `; H. V) |, N V6 D* f
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
X9 d* {, L4 F• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; & @& E* S: {, ]8 Z; S, C* K
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
$ y- U9 g: F6 r. heffectively and positively represent the association; & @+ x0 Z2 `9 r4 C% {

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
9 K5 w" i9 E' B+ M/ u5 y. A: U& `- Rthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
; ~, I6 }$ ?2 i3 x6 e6 i• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
4 u$ x) u& V7 B, ~, w5 Yperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED / {/ `7 B* \# N$ T1 v* l1 H3 f
the forthcoming year;
+ U* a# C5 M7 |1 J• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
/ |( d; u" K: k4 z$ t. P' ~practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of % B3 b3 o. M5 e% X

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
7 i/ w- N- e6 f/ O8 A, J0 c4 U• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 3 q6 W: h8 M9 ~1 z
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
8 z% L8 q$ M3 {- ] oabilities; 3 p* R+ i8 e3 u( Y. Y$ F& Y; I
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
, x& r1 I9 h8 `& ^Networking and Fundraising;
) _+ m3 T# G0 Z. p; a0 Q7 `! ~• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
x6 ~$ ?& p" A- V; f" ]and financial statements; and / j, N+ N8 G: b ~4 D$ v2 k
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women ! `6 F) B" \" M" ]6 Z+ d
centered perspective.
