surrounding region. Through generous support from a variety of funders and donors, YWCA

Responsibilities

execution of the YWCA Strategy 2 ^( V) i" i+ d5 V8 ^1 N* G

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
0 z! K9 _1 d% i* Ethe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 3 N4 D* Y5 V+ k: s
the Board of Directors; ' `6 V' |' h% T# \* M, ?
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
$ i, x/ W' u H2 V0 k; jincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ! o* h8 `6 g, ^
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
7 i2 \3 s3 I6 X' a& a• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ' g G7 v+ C4 ?
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 0 r, p0 k w# r
the board; ' I% C( [2 X' Z
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
* ?/ M, @1 `- j! l2 U• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ' F* h4 b% w( Y) x2 }
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
5 C' R- E* _0 o% C6 A• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
0 v$ V" V' W! }8 Fchanging needs of the organization and community; ; R- e8 K& o! j |9 q8 _
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
. L& y5 Y. O/ L n, dcommitments; 8 W8 x" `4 p! [( |0 e4 e- y5 Z0 `5 @7 F8 ~
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
7 u( K, }% e R d% g• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective # D1 z& ^0 f: B4 E2 ^$ P
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 1 e' i8 F3 p" n0 C- ?; ^5 O
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 3 Z: m; j8 d( I1 t# E% N' G9 t
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
! a" y3 x8 C7 _& s$ Q8 ]effectively and positively represent the association; ( ~$ c+ o: o3 o% p3 J
8 x& d# n9 \; x% m9 U• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring - o% I- f: \2 D! ~
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
% S) }2 ^$ ^: c9 m: ?• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
0 F& S; B) r. b( j. lperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
D; i8 c; `) d& rthe forthcoming year;
( X7 u7 o" {5 y3 o8 u# o( l• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
4 i, o( o0 k, [/ q' K# C4 F/ V& t8 wpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience * W, w# T% y7 N C
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
4 a _5 A+ N: q, A7 q• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 6 a2 \: q1 G v) t* N
abilities;
) f; Y. q; {5 w( p• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, , K; B* _( s. U, G+ K6 S
Networking and Fundraising; - G: X4 D0 W- w4 Q& t
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 8 ?0 @7 x* ]% B' ^! A- x3 S* B
and financial statements; and
