execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
( `- q! K- B* f* j! N, o' T3 mthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
* g* C3 E- y+ r! x2 c& \the Board of Directors;
0 }% D$ O6 _8 [. I3 D! i• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
E4 Q$ [/ C& `: kincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ' k5 a. R- B0 Y& A
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 2 H, a x$ n) ^# Y0 Z4 x
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
5 O& s) J1 A. Nobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 6 ^. d& Z; N8 f$ E% k- q
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
9 x# t: c% e. H% j! @0 K9 \' P1 Lthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
' p. h* s m" J7 j. ~. C• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ! R/ x+ n0 k0 \9 w4 g3 F
changing needs of the organization and community;
, a- B) V6 X0 g; U2 `9 H. ?• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 4 f7 A* L5 |; o

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
8 f9 H% e% f* `• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective + I- ~- o3 E8 {) t% E+ H
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; & I5 _ j: @& w! [+ R
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ; b8 B p s# c! K: l1 E0 [
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
' N4 L0 D) f/ n3 H9 \! i/ Ceffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ( K' m* s! i5 C& `
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
7 N3 p i% y! ~& P% u• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal / Q, ?" W3 F. J& C$ U
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED n: A6 R# m' p! [
the forthcoming year;
& Z! J5 U. W$ p% ^( p' h• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
9 I4 L3 \6 I6 l2 Y) O! c4 Mpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 4 p6 g" B" k: y" e9 d+ P1 V0 N( \
YWCA Canada; and

Required Professional Designation / Certification
+ D+ T3 E1 T. a- N0 o9 b# u% t• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.
+ }* K% X7 t: M% y9 }2 c; E( F. ~ 1 M3 \, r6 [- j' Q/ ^
Required Experience * g% @; [4 |; g3 `; v/ b8 Y
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
% _8 T6 E$ A, i b• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
8 S% l' k5 h4 S" pabilities;
3 N6 V1 _& p' H2 V! j1 c• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, : l% E$ H: z* ?1 n$ m
Networking and Fundraising; . B# F5 X1 w& M0 l$ [
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
