' N! _! C" h$ l; v• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
0 G$ `' ]7 a2 l+ d! cthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 8 w: g% h5 \9 l) e4 N- v, E8 V
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ) M; S+ E8 Q1 `9 Z
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; , |$ J9 o: B, a; J6 S
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and , s6 }( i' ~( `: h5 N
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ) z* X% s! _: o( [, o' g* t) e, i

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; / h3 |: h9 Q& w* {% I8 y' L
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion - V! l2 } B0 a: w0 I
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 6 v6 H7 k. A' @9 e, L: `+ P2 ~* F
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
; w9 I6 \/ v. t: e2 }changing needs of the organization and community;
( V) l6 J$ ?7 _4 O• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ) e" r) p7 r9 U) i' n9 Q
commitments;
1 o( c2 x, X- L7 e+ B• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ! A( G$ `8 G+ v. d# x
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
, x+ f; Z O. W" f7 J$ hselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; / Q7 K7 g+ z0 o* |% u z
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
# v; i, ^1 t* C$ p• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to & ?" h0 J+ X9 I" w! N) g2 K' n
effectively and positively represent the association; $ U# d$ L+ n% a+ y
6 ]5 c* I' Z0 S: _5 ?, e• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 9 }$ s" l8 S. p, i2 x- ~! \1 A, y
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
2 }/ k/ [% L, O6 F• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
; j- I: h( H- b9 zperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
T: ^$ s W5 M6 x+ e+ cthe forthcoming year; Y# C) h8 N6 P1 W
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 8 ^" h3 a1 @4 ^: N0 M w) G& M
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of % V( f8 M* @( w" A
YWCA Canada; and

Required Professional Designation / Certification $ a/ N1 q+ M: C
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
! k. Y" c" r) O% h" B3 a7 d• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation , [ y( f8 X) [1 {. e2 q
abilities; , r; p3 _; x( d5 u' {1 }
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
( M! Y; W* l1 bNetworking and Fundraising; 0 K/ I( _7 V8 L4 T0 o3 T! k
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 2 C- y/ H+ J% ]; A% `6 s) M( t# u
and financial statements; and 4 K M1 h* T) {# J0 R; X
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
