Specific responsibilities include:

& b$ G( I) H7 C• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
- }8 k& L' [4 r: t4 y J0 Wthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
, E% n/ A& `/ Bthe Board of Directors;
! m' }5 M: ]9 r4 r. v; _/ r2 l• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
: n3 j( n1 F* B) F0 ] `$ \including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 7 q# H; ?" V% G: ]- L
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
8 \ q1 p) `7 E& c: L: L• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 2 c7 |/ [, P% w f
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
`8 J- A$ M! }, v2 G4 C( D• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
9 M' i( i7 `( h) cthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ) q7 c' w8 ^8 t/ k% A" U
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
( @- z ?3 {1 E+ Qchanging needs of the organization and community;
6 w( E/ |+ f( I• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
' l" v& g2 i: Hcommitments; 3 d7 |* J, t0 X2 { ~% L$ E) \) q
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; `5 R @* C/ Y
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
' }; O; m' Y: O8 Y- D8 x/ n! |selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; : a/ I6 O# j' _4 F7 U/ Q
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
8 o/ [' r0 g6 X( t' v/ o• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 5 k% H/ o4 W0 D0 q8 `, c; S
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
1 n/ f0 P, n' l• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 4 ^1 c1 R* a9 G& `$ g1 o
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED - q: ?8 {' B( f1 X3 [+ Y. e: `( }
the forthcoming year; ! o' f) e1 n, ~" p
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. & g% P& `& u0 L

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; , }4 P9 P# Y) i2 ^4 k# {
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, ' T& Y' A) Z& V/ U3 J" t- ~, a

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
