Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
) [* N! V6 _! w! \+ j/ `the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
* c: B, K- e* W9 _& Q$ L" D7 Ythe Board of Directors; ' l7 t0 v2 L# c
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations . K( |0 X$ N% ~1 j
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
7 x: a/ T. f6 T' B# e* v3 {) Fenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ! @* l, _3 j: W2 [
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
% ~" U3 j# V) p2 Kobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 9 J l0 n! L0 P, Y

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; % A, s/ ?+ M8 ]9 i& \% i
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
, Z# ] D4 e Y* ], c4 W& y8 qthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 9 v7 Q7 t/ p! z2 b- O
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
s1 B! y( u7 z6 Nchanging needs of the organization and community; # v+ J3 V+ X J3 D* D( U! X4 w
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 3 A' T# F7 p8 ~6 ~0 E" t
commitments;

• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
( E1 L: a/ }: w1 tselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
, l$ M+ S( _, o• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ' N. _) O0 V& |
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to , }5 w1 w! T/ X! l2 y2 B3 M
effectively and positively represent the association; ; o6 K5 I. g5 m$ H

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 5 I( L3 ~7 d# v5 \. z
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; ! z5 `/ o$ x$ A R/ ?; I; y* _
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
, t" |" p6 e- s9 ]performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 8 z' g$ v" d+ K! y# V n) n' N
the forthcoming year;
! v' K# h) t" c, W• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ( W# r' R' K9 t9 ?- e
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ( u* r! a, @2 @- N4 F' k

Required Professional Designation / Certification
) p6 `) X" X: E8 o2 W• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 3 H- a/ V" ^4 F( [

Required Experience
/ m+ E$ K$ Q# d) @• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; / R' h7 T" y" G9 J! P
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
# T/ I) p3 B. _abilities; 2 E/ Q2 K% d p
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
[) Z/ Y7 T7 r( P ^Networking and Fundraising;
& {8 ?5 k. {' \9 ]2 K0 p" h* ~• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting - |1 O3 r4 y7 T* {6 s3 L C& ^( W
and financial statements; and
1 a5 d+ V7 b; K9 j8 g• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women K+ S$ r% C% u! o5 k$ \
