The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and - X/ Z; k/ ^- T! R
execution of the YWCA Strategy

: C1 b4 x2 U- }• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of $ O* ~: c2 ]- [/ k! J. p
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
: t9 i5 k! f \+ X, Lthe Board of Directors; 4 D9 ]" P3 L/ ^8 l5 `4 l
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 7 t; |+ w3 K, n/ P
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
' I: U- Y0 M* b: H" h/ ^enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
" v" n# I7 w' d9 R7 I+ F• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
: l" m |# M2 M, robjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 8 G6 S1 ^( C. k$ D* y J. H- l6 d

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; - v! j. M; i9 C+ v* {
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
$ }' ]' }1 m+ ]7 e, h/ C% J$ e! Othe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ) B0 |" X# f" T& j0 K' D3 z! S, R
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the + I3 X( A0 ?: X1 B7 Q
changing needs of the organization and community;
$ N! i) ~ ]/ X* G, L: |% ]• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
) D" A E+ ~. q. e4 G3 \/ A% b2 Zcommitments;
2 l2 P# q+ Y6 k, I3 H$ c• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
' g9 d4 Y4 D, c3 g• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 6 T$ f3 c: y% }' \
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
* f/ I% q! ?) a+ Q+ A• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

effectively and positively represent the association;

& \- T4 Y! D7 A) Q0 i• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring + R% T$ _ O( a% Z: @/ x3 v
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
2 G7 x: S( k6 x/ V% {- d• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal V- @7 G1 w: Q/ t" \0 u2 d p
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
" E8 Z k1 a9 a+ S4 v8 \practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 3 A4 O5 F4 n# v9 y9 E* a
YWCA Canada; and
! C- }& A! }! w- d• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

- m; j, i: b" L9 O& w4 E6 t• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 2 p: Z4 h4 ]& p% i5 x0 g/ N; i; y0 G
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation + a7 T3 {! o/ M2 c
abilities; ) r/ P, l2 u/ }
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 3 r" f6 q% n- \! q# e
Networking and Fundraising;
6 K6 W/ U8 W% N! s9 a+ q• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
