Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and ) _% E& b q i5 a
execution of the YWCA Strategy 3 X8 [ n% u) K' g3 f1 Z
4 ]7 |7 c3 O7 j# o0 ~Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
2 \ ~) _4 P& G" sthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
0 G5 M3 W5 \. v6 l' dthe Board of Directors;
/ [, o/ D8 z6 N5 L• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
, B# [2 O; u! q+ Pincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 2 I4 Q0 ? V8 ~9 G7 u6 `
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; , b3 b5 X/ w+ Y, }4 h1 D: g, [
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
( c$ a0 Y/ Z% _" |; ^objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 3 @1 O% {* h0 }* B4 r i [
the board; ( H+ p3 I& \! M7 y2 \
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
& F8 w8 U1 ?( s! Q8 m3 d• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 1 \9 S, P7 E1 r; X+ y$ l3 N9 ]7 i
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
9 j: B1 N3 h1 c- K: F• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ) i0 d% n3 _/ f# w
changing needs of the organization and community; 8 |: N* C9 @$ P8 e7 f
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 7 v( J J* Z7 a( v* |
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective $ p2 q" H/ T6 p
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
! C* J6 ?6 |6 v& o" V) O• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 3 R# m g, r" M' |, z/ u' F$ T( r3 ?
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
5 a1 L0 Q; n6 P0 G: D0 U8 s; K/ Jeffectively and positively represent the association;

3 A; X3 ~% A7 B• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
% ~% t) g. _2 Z6 f& a2 y0 e# rthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
8 H2 p7 c8 M$ F6 i9 i: f, W• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal $ c$ E' p. \0 @- u6 i$ @/ `
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
3 p. w' D8 e# X8 l* Gthe forthcoming year;

! F( A% ^4 c. o. wpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 7 g1 ^; \( `' ?

" I/ p4 T) {- C: d• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 8 ]8 j4 A5 P. D( b" b7 N' @# V

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 9 w1 x3 E# v7 ^& u# p' K, v% p
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ! H" @+ O$ }: M0 ~4 m5 W0 V8 s7 f; y

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, # Z6 u- T% s9 j6 C D
Networking and Fundraising;
