Specific responsibilities include:

0 c* b1 x0 U0 p$ ?. J! @. h• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
) d6 G# h# M8 j+ r: y) ?" k3 \$ xthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
) n. N, K* @+ F2 }the Board of Directors; % D: ?' w% h. A( [5 r/ p7 F
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
9 W2 i; @! s, yincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 9 c# S9 i$ E/ U, ^: |) E
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
7 J/ `) A9 X# s; J/ \: o7 \• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ( k( ~5 o8 j7 S) Y: M2 [
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by : S- b7 F! o* ?0 w. b6 A

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 4 ~! Q3 A- b. f# E6 t
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
3 F$ s7 @ j% _ e+ C7 jthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
( ?0 A y6 v# k: a- b( N• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
! O: \5 Z+ d5 o) y& wchanging needs of the organization and community; : C- E7 U* V" J. U
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
9 e" f2 |" p4 v3 V0 M3 k+ Qcommitments;
8 u4 \# u: B$ F8 J• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 6 A) x: f; h M7 S! ]
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
1 U1 h6 ]3 n' Jselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 8 P k4 K7 g+ x! f
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 1 O; S1 ]' ~, ?% L: T& N% ?
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to $ ~% L% Q& x& Y R+ l
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring g/ h# \7 m# R1 a, p- B
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
1 d6 S" ]( b# H8 K• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
) d4 f9 U8 M6 b) _$ G. Gperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 1 K1 Z- o. \5 g
the forthcoming year;
+ J! W; i- _, z" g• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
' O4 k0 O, \2 N; t5 opractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 7 _- {( H1 [& v4 ]3 v! W: u; |7 S
YWCA Canada; and

Required Professional Designation / Certification
" A* L# u+ `7 W1 `' |* z, {• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience ) W' t8 l0 I+ J5 j4 T
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 9 u9 B3 \: K) H( _- _, i
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, * X/ U$ X% ~0 y w* I' j

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting , Z/ N* U9 f; T( b! K7 N

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
