Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and ' |4 \7 i* a% U$ G. |6 q
execution of the YWCA Strategy

) r; i6 S" G$ Bthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by - c3 y) D! s7 A$ b1 ~
the Board of Directors;

$ ~. u: `9 V& q( nincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 1 `# r. t$ n! K$ U# r2 ~
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 0 u: i( H3 ?4 t+ N8 S
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
, D9 H/ r0 Z, Mobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 1 |+ ]$ Y2 b6 [% g0 o/ E
the board;
# B" Z7 h5 u* F+ ~- Y: ]& G e• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ! S+ p# ^, }) r' T1 v+ U
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
: [9 ?1 y% ~' rthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
5 P& F: Q! d/ a. A, `( @% U9 l3 J• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the . G3 _4 Z# \9 u6 c* M X
changing needs of the organization and community; 5 f! Z. l& u) l5 S
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ( s$ n7 N' l. y1 V
commitments; + `6 Y* L' {) {' K: M. V
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; " @+ _% z% n7 D7 d
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
: r+ l# L1 l7 O" r2 \+ bselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
( [* p0 z1 L7 A' u3 W$ s• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; , E* C% r m" X& `3 X' W D& U
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to % d6 R: d, [* g9 a; _/ O& \

5 X9 l7 e' N2 k• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring D5 G, D; |6 S+ m- ~% w5 b" L

• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 9 E2 H+ u1 Q [) q
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; , u7 r* ?% ^+ J$ i+ t/ Z
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation - I! E6 `* X6 \# A$ p7 |" K G0 J
abilities;
