Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
3 E$ L" ]" j4 p8 B3 f" Wthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
* M6 m; C& R1 p- ]! m. }, @the Board of Directors;
2 R( ]8 V/ }0 Y, l8 r+ k. X• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
& D% Y. M$ Y$ Q% t- X( y. ?including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
. [4 S7 A. W) v8 }- }) Penable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; $ ~) h' C1 K+ [9 j1 }" s, l
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and % U5 L7 E3 O( j" r/ ]
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
5 ~' s8 D- u! _: g7 |, H, Mthe board; $ X" R% t' M4 G4 F2 ]/ t$ S
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ( P; H3 }3 z& \+ |8 z, ~$ o* V) p
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
, ]( }* F& q% Pthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 5 @3 x2 r" ~+ M
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
. b! u, k* e4 w+ k& ?changing needs of the organization and community;
* U* b$ C% h" B• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
! u6 z( n) j7 Vcommitments;
% S- e$ d$ t" C0 T( X" K• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
! Z- u: l5 _/ @2 Y% r• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ( u' K- Y7 H, F# J; l
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; " t4 K# T N: {7 A& s6 h
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
o V7 @* E4 p# i; ^" W* K0 m• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
, T5 v/ s. P2 a9 |/ G6 m9 ?# C* S! Reffectively and positively represent the association;

+ c. p0 k) [) V& ]* c+ i• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring , x! A* D. _* F# S! q) j

• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal / @+ \) T+ M) z' @$ I8 B, B( @
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 1 }7 j" C$ {- D
the forthcoming year;

) }9 Y- I2 V$ R1 s! y/ {. hpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; # `7 c0 H! m$ p* N8 ~' n/ A
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 3 e4 u, s0 f, d3 I A

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, ~. A& V' P; k; b0 {
Networking and Fundraising; ! t( j ]. m1 m5 E+ V
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
( A, J- s# B/ Q, Y% N0 Vand financial statements; and
