Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 3 X+ j+ m8 }) N3 l! d7 w8 O
execution of the YWCA Strategy

+ r7 B# x$ ?* j, H4 V6 E• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 9 `9 g8 R5 [- j- v
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ( m( _4 W6 q) P8 } \8 Q0 n# A
the Board of Directors;
# P6 @6 v, j+ Y( G I- d• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 7 L5 K# G! w* C0 Y! v
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ! g5 |. R( g. D' i# f3 e4 U
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
$ O! Q9 h8 a& b6 K• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
# G& u8 a7 a( o' zobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
( i4 \7 {1 p5 k# _0 h3 `the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
* y( \2 m- N! _1 y% E4 M• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the * q0 Y1 C: X2 c* I1 |0 z6 W' O7 C
changing needs of the organization and community;
5 E1 a5 N9 y7 O! }# }; q: C3 t• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue / L! T. C u6 Y. t7 s

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
4 B s: ?& ?; ^" L" D• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
* h+ y6 w5 ` Oselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ! r1 n6 s/ @' F/ B+ _5 _
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
# a6 | ^! G" w* B* p+ m6 M• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
) Q% L0 |! U Y+ V+ w9 meffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
% T! @8 d/ F% Q O W7 kthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
& k& D( s' I$ U% W; S2 ?• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 0 `( }8 l% |) \0 H& q! X
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 0 d x, J; s C' j# m3 k/ Y
the forthcoming year;

! x9 @# Z. g+ b- ~) m- x- f# |practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; y% |1 g1 _+ b0 D8 l, l' w0 r7 o
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
* D8 z3 |6 c7 T5 I2 M. a+ \abilities;
5 r2 B: N0 c6 O+ N5 q5 Q0 s• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
S$ `& Z$ s9 R- b3 }& nNetworking and Fundraising;
