Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 3 w5 g. t: \2 R
execution of the YWCA Strategy 1 N4 l, K1 i) i( P4 B `
6 J4 b5 P* N9 @# `4 ZSpecific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
" r0 l, e9 |4 h% _& g; i: D& Sthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 4 y( \. _; B1 B- e: ^8 Y1 J
the Board of Directors; % _: V( G+ X6 ?) I: ~; }1 T0 R
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 7 D- `8 Z& G6 S5 a( R0 h' _8 `
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
/ b$ `, x; K& G: l$ R/ @% Y0 `enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
; P0 @ D) J* Z# s# F/ l& _• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and $ y, J( {) j! L& G6 s
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by : I# [* B' c3 n$ E/ {3 p9 ]
the board;
0 h2 V( H& h3 u+ d# F* G5 y& e3 ~* m• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 9 t8 g! p0 _) E G) b
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
; D3 a& P; n* y9 Q [% Q# Z9 Xthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ; A; ~& v1 `: s; H" g4 E) G
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
0 m' ~$ y+ K5 Q) N1 |4 h4 Schanging needs of the organization and community;
6 `3 u! h6 f) \• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 0 J4 J; s! k/ a
commitments; * t$ u8 b/ I7 e2 _
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ( P2 o6 F. S U( H* a' Q1 r
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 7 G$ Y0 T3 e. b, L! d \
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
6 b d7 u+ @' l: g$ g• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
[+ M7 ^1 u, s5 A8 \2 K. g• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
! n8 E7 f# h" D( vthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
- ]$ U5 |* k b5 X# @4 Z* P) \5 g" ]• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
, }9 C) p2 \, L: `" c1 V4 S* Sperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
# n+ m6 ]- R! _$ I% n! n: othe forthcoming year; 3 f, Z k" e: s N: Y4 ?2 \. u
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
; n3 Z/ Q& Z8 e6 P6 y: z+ mpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of / {& W% `/ }& @0 l- e1 k% ^

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; - ^5 b! _( ]( D* w+ `& u+ b
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
