Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
: e1 o! R9 W0 }& E+ I0 Q' o" dexecution of the YWCA Strategy

( d2 N0 B6 w5 T2 z1 v+ V$ k• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of , A% h& Q0 n' f d, @) C
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by : B7 x/ k5 W7 W$ v L% n1 g
the Board of Directors;

including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
9 i3 K) {; t* W0 R1 a! Senable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
* }- x+ }' B4 Z• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and - j' H: y) o$ O) [' [- n
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; - Q* @2 [' H) ]( w6 t" z0 x
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
6 a7 F7 T2 W$ e$ l! P$ F, ithe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; + q5 l/ B7 E/ _" h- ^2 D0 J
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 5 w. w+ Z, \% b, f# X" U
changing needs of the organization and community;
% F4 }' Y+ A5 V• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 7 f6 g5 z% s. [6 c
commitments;
3 G# W6 B# J8 g/ c, w; d/ t$ A• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; + }4 j6 t5 }- G; c* G% [
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective # m* B. G# T. ?. R! L) Z) O
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

" D2 ]+ F- O1 b5 K; G/ i• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
$ O. G8 p8 s5 D: E0 Athe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
# F' K3 v( m" Z0 q; b/ s) j8 O4 Z3 ~• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ' T' |( q. e% f1 a
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 0 O. V0 a/ f4 x7 K# j6 e: ^
the forthcoming year; - O, k0 W) U4 |
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
0 U9 u# r0 v# {- D9 L( fpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
0 `3 l& F) N, Z: L$ E# ^YWCA Canada; and
+ K8 f+ E$ p5 C6 r# X9 K• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task 5 p) q9 D; \" A' p& M
Forces.

Required Professional Designation / Certification

Required Experience / U: n, C8 J2 y* u- e+ x
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; & w6 X+ x c( x& W6 Y
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 7 b( M# _0 e* t, Q/ \& |
abilities; 1 h4 @; C S/ L) }' x. Q' q
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
" G+ M5 @! j* U, Z/ l' c S i% PNetworking and Fundraising;
& h B' T* g! }7 o, ^• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
9 ]! T- g: G" b& g2 }and financial statements; and
