Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 5 j8 X0 o5 M& r
execution of the YWCA Strategy 4 s9 q. X- j+ W1 b6 X& [

Specific responsibilities include: \( B8 I( h9 D( p/ Q, n* Z

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of , \/ y5 M- B0 N. S
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
& M' h" y) F; P- L( A" A/ ]$ }4 Tthe Board of Directors; 2 E/ {) g; S0 \( h
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 7 B8 l. |+ o1 [
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
( }& z4 `% {" n& u. denable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
. c& U1 u/ O; H$ M• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
( {! n' Z- y! _* z3 l0 b" H4 Xobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 9 |, J/ B$ Z$ F$ ^& i! v( U
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the / T" H% n' p% h
changing needs of the organization and community;
# |' L! L# n+ w0 c5 e5 h) Y• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 9 f5 Z! M; ?/ A. M7 y
commitments;

• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
) X+ V N% z/ e9 X3 m8 w! M# Fselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
1 f3 P) g( C# ]the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
# |, g7 m( i4 i) ^) p" y• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
1 c% g( l9 |3 V/ p6 s; }performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 6 C' e( A7 l8 @
the forthcoming year;
% B, \' c# X! Y) I• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical - |, G- @9 e3 a2 j8 B& V5 p7 ]: _/ R. z
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 8 ^3 }0 r: ^. b3 t& M

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

) M A$ t& G2 R; K4 N2 i/ }• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
5 r' _+ |* f0 v1 F• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
