execution of the YWCA Strategy

! I) I- B2 \6 V. [; T* W• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
6 o& T, d% t8 _, V( h6 tthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
# T! i+ }4 r) ^+ K/ gthe Board of Directors; $ U( C/ [3 K8 [" R
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
$ G1 n! I% q# |* |$ R; rincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
" B. }4 C" X5 W! denable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 7 k6 o+ y1 L/ V3 H$ [8 b# q
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ( I/ e9 d, J4 Z8 H! v3 W
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ( p( I+ S/ w/ S0 P$ `- w- s
the board;
+ V* ~" `9 ?! J4 V• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ; g. P; }" Y0 j& K) y% d
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ' E' n, ]9 L1 [. Q/ D5 T
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
9 Y- }8 p* Y! m/ U' C1 m- f, x1 H% B* _• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
- L# f4 G4 C+ E: F& @changing needs of the organization and community;
6 }- u+ t$ S6 o: y' t3 O& m/ ]( y( x• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

3 U& I9 P8 P1 c• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
+ b8 P w3 `6 Y1 I2 g" `( d• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 4 }. u( _& l* ?# _
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ( U& A) z4 {( e
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
7 m$ ?$ M e% Q8 U2 i* H1 A• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
( U! {1 _7 w) v3 ~ Ueffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
& M! W' \5 `& ]3 v$ m% Cthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
: q& `. D" h, H, G! H6 P( _* H) |$ U• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
! i5 n( L+ U) b% T) A$ k- c- bperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED & X1 g* `7 L+ g5 }: p" E
the forthcoming year; 6 H6 Y0 K. T' X1 [, `
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical % e% p* s8 y% g2 X# H- y/ x, n
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
/ C0 O6 i& i/ x8 _YWCA Canada; and * q4 e1 o; Y8 @: V% @
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

! O J6 y* x0 r, b/ r- Y8 d• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
) N r0 i( ~* t/ F# y• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 1 z2 Q2 h# N5 h, D2 ?. Y! s

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 7 Z$ P3 o; W) r; d
Networking and Fundraising;
