Specific responsibilities include: / p" ?1 S- t" L3 K7 C, S
! d& R/ ?2 ^* {3 }+ [% R• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
5 g, G' h7 A$ k. q. Hthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations $ \* Z C5 o' U4 y
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to / S5 ]4 A1 W# x0 j8 f3 a& c2 ~
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
* G5 g; @$ ?" m9 y/ o S; q. f W3 H( o2 e% V• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
1 i, i1 n+ Y% @; Iobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; * x$ \* v& U1 I
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion & t$ G3 w- T' a. s
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
" b- F# g) s7 r# s- }• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ( a3 i7 @& D0 T- ~. c. O, ~
changing needs of the organization and community; 9 H9 h3 T1 }3 ]6 ^+ p
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 8 B6 ^' K" s+ z! x0 {' k
commitments; 3 u( V; V8 S" O8 D3 c8 c0 F' L
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
; f- H5 t" r& L C5 r• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective . v' |+ b1 S3 K7 t$ I6 T
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
3 ~. ^- |5 B$ l0 _; t( }• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring : n3 x; a3 b& s
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
9 G8 t: x4 X: O; Y0 w$ p. O2 d• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
) r& X: v0 Q" Y) y8 Qperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
! d4 x: |3 C; ]% d- l' G1 _the forthcoming year;
: }8 V3 K3 q# f( d+ P* b• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical - K$ m& q8 B7 v4 [
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of - Z; E3 }# ~' A
YWCA Canada; and
" r) }; u$ y' {: l5 m* ]• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Experience
" v ^! v4 @' V! I( }* u• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; , U! v3 y- t6 Y8 C( n, a
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation / C+ L( l1 Q& i
abilities;
/ w3 z" Z/ g* m' _# v5 z5 d• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
# l9 s% q" i' ?$ S( x1 ONetworking and Fundraising; 6 M2 f9 P+ k$ m. K" S/ o* T
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting , w7 I8 F* j* C f
and financial statements; and
" t( i0 f) k/ ^• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women : ~1 c- V" p8 @5 p5 Z
centered perspective.
