• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
+ x* O: A8 d2 F) R" ~$ n" V' R0 Xthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
/ R. w9 U w$ d) s3 Q! Ithe Board of Directors;
! M! V1 y) i" O+ K" s) E1 }• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
# m- v* g2 F, }- V4 `. s2 yincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 8 u+ ~8 V2 |1 r: j9 B8 D
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 6 m! Q& C+ o6 t1 T) e5 w& p
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 5 _0 d7 ]; {4 Y% j3 V
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by k9 V' S1 R3 d/ |* b, w* m
the board; 3 l0 }4 c2 y' K+ w, A$ ^
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
$ K9 W& A) c- A. R8 S* M• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
' T, { Z* m( V& l8 X) y1 ~the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ( n N9 s7 r9 }
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
2 M% j R9 ^( X0 }! _changing needs of the organization and community;
' G# a+ ^- N, t Q2 Y. d• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue + I( z# y$ b+ C" q; q/ R3 H _
commitments; 5 s* D) G: I5 o
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
# _. E! L+ ]4 n• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective # S, \* K' m0 r& l7 @7 y
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
5 j" T9 U$ L+ W8 P+ O% i• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
, m5 e" ?0 a; u" g7 V0 X• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to " z. n) Z* s! m6 N
effectively and positively represent the association;

' @8 H; F8 |& N" y4 _- X% |• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring & J. n$ x$ N' \- ~- }
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
. ]8 ?- M1 H" v( f6 x+ n• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 4 S, p: R# P- U) V2 J5 D
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

. z9 ~5 j N- ], W# Q4 V" K+ D• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical $ H2 C* m% |& G3 }. Y9 d# o
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 4 d% U4 C6 r3 B" `
YWCA Canada; and 5 }2 U( `$ V, a: V0 t* X5 c
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Ability to plan, coordinate, and monitor a significant number of functions / tasks

• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, $ P* b* ]' |# T: x c% P7 s. y
Networking and Fundraising;

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
