this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and # c+ S. W" t* x6 w/ ?8 u/ C

Specific responsibilities include:

$ O0 `4 R/ S i- h7 V% m' ?• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
9 p7 p+ a3 n( pthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 9 G6 }9 ?2 V9 z- Z0 t
the Board of Directors;
: n0 Y- _* _' E8 h' u5 I5 ?• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 2 L* H2 r2 w, t% b8 ?5 Z1 U2 Z2 R
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to - f9 D( j$ s: O2 \
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ' Z% u5 h; Z6 ~, Z
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
0 Z" M9 @. S+ L# h: d7 ~5 Zobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

' l; e: o4 K8 r( N) z7 e• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
5 \4 s3 x' n( s1 r3 H• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion - q1 U+ l; ?8 K( O# r2 f# ^6 k
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
' F5 Q/ M, [8 ` M# ?• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ( r g7 ` y5 ]' m) _
changing needs of the organization and community; & d" q2 k U: k& n
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 2 E/ B% D/ H+ y' d u3 x
commitments; ! k0 t4 s- H- d9 p8 }8 J
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; + _; l' t4 J D* U. Q6 ~7 N
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
& o) U0 {7 O$ ?) S) yselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ! J0 j# s/ K8 w V+ r7 e! b
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring : y; u7 E7 t. ~* e. K
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; , g( b0 h% o+ u7 ]
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
) I1 o J. B; g% j2 ?3 p. |% sperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
% c; ~' l" h6 ?9 N! P, t! rthe forthcoming year; h0 C8 t" z' a7 B
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical / D* V3 `) E- k. n' ^. A7 w
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of + }/ ]8 d- G$ G( e
YWCA Canada; and 8 P) }; {7 A, ]
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task ' `3 _1 C$ t `* ]$ ~/ V

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
) n# ~& H9 K7 Z; f+ B• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation / q9 M W, S W
abilities;
. g1 q8 S, h% J. A3 Z5 c- S• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 3 [" I( s2 y/ r3 @4 C/ T0 a" }
Networking and Fundraising;
