Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and $ l( N+ B, U$ L% v( N
execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ) o# F5 u. ]% I. e' s
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by " J' r. S' ] D. F" L% a2 P
the Board of Directors; : `6 v1 u- q2 I1 a1 S- f
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 9 ^, [; t! e) ^5 x( \
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ) x3 P! g& H4 J6 w" z
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
1 \; n8 B, C( J: ~4 r+ L• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and + q5 X0 m! h+ }" V# g, h
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

6 f: D: ?1 o% H, e+ Z( _8 e• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
7 ]: S7 p6 G( ^2 W& z• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
, ^$ j3 A8 O0 j" y% A1 @the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ; s q* @; h2 T, [* y
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 8 f o2 @. a$ F8 q
changing needs of the organization and community; : A: u* Z2 Q9 H# v. V8 t' z
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
( U* @. Z* Z& W; rcommitments;
0 w% t/ V! g% q" u6 d/ n• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
/ ]$ Y, G5 d k1 p. P5 P• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective $ J- [/ k/ o4 l" J5 J; H
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ' {3 D3 @- y5 r" K: h
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; # p L5 |/ Z* F$ w* _8 u
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
+ V( D* C% q* n# j% @" neffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
" I% U/ G6 ?+ ] Ithe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
+ Y3 k( C3 {. L• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
' J! y1 Q& B& Y1 a' Y+ {performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ! y) j, b. L5 p+ ?: G X
the forthcoming year;
, p; g4 C& g" z" S5 a• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical $ { t+ V+ i1 Z1 N, B& k
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
' U" S# l# g3 xYWCA Canada; and
1 ~0 |7 }9 C* g* R• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 9 _5 {8 p9 T0 c1 {% l" d6 A* Y1 W

Required Experience k# w* `+ f( ^/ f
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ; e5 a# d( \$ w7 O
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ) w+ G1 B$ U+ I) S& i' m
abilities; - {7 d6 `, ?+ U# Q
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, ; [( ~4 F! G# c8 o l( }
Networking and Fundraising;
* m% c1 s P- ]• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
