this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

/ s ?. O; V+ ~8 ]. {Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 7 r/ W' G* F F1 w" |& v
execution of the YWCA Strategy # D: [2 ~ C. z3 j

' K& P* o1 ? p, i- \3 C• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of * d/ C1 N; Y; ^+ u
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
0 a& ^1 @. n4 K7 @the Board of Directors; G; X' N) l. M
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 4 C, e+ m& g: y6 U* v
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
8 @; U7 Q/ S6 Q1 h+ b6 E0 E5 jenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 2 d3 h2 A9 z" ]4 u* T0 Q
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
1 g. u* A" e! `% oobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by % D7 B* v3 x, n3 Q6 J
the board;
& A+ F$ ?* H% s2 D• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
" i- R1 J. b6 n0 \2 y0 ?7 D4 j• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 8 D# V/ w' J* j: K. d3 N
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
0 W5 a5 X9 @/ Z" X• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ) l9 ^: ~/ G" S2 o% n( T
changing needs of the organization and community; ' L0 T9 Y1 s5 d! f+ k
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

) h6 V7 N# x* x. b• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
0 y' Q! ?6 f3 N/ Z+ ^• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
) H+ y1 F1 K6 F" Kselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ( P, K M) e6 C" F* Y/ K" \
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 3 m0 H- \ ^* f' ^# `
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
3 T4 ^2 Y* H7 l. z& U9 |7 ]( N• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
& m( M" C9 Q) u5 f# Zperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
h s7 H' N4 T' P2 G$ N, w( gthe forthcoming year;
4 }% q* M; q3 O6 y- C8 W• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical V% K$ K+ s: U* |- L Q `
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

% Q1 _8 K5 b( h, z5 _• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
5 T, F9 N+ K4 ]• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation , G! Q% k0 E8 j* Z6 ?! H
abilities;
3 n' {) M6 l5 {. g# E• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, , {, W9 d" G3 L, G: V( _5 g) \
Networking and Fundraising;
