The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
. Q2 A9 V* F( H1 z/ cthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
! T( f, A7 @, X# U' ^# b. @; Tthe Board of Directors; & K6 }& L# j" L5 z
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
) [7 G0 \) A" r: D) Kincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
5 Z2 K" b1 G1 Z# @enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
5 V- l: e7 `6 F! A5 ~- v• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
1 q2 B0 C. a1 j7 x' ~8 bobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ' n, g3 ]0 i9 C0 \# d6 t0 v

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; & `& g9 ]# K. Y: c/ t1 l
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ' W6 s# K3 R& U& M
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; & k: L% s, @* e# \. {
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the $ E% x: S6 b7 M( k2 x( X
changing needs of the organization and community;
9 X+ L+ ?# C* M0 m# c& h• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
/ _: Q6 v; W u$ D5 O2 q• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective / t5 c- z# ~% y) `( u9 G# z) @0 c. o
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
6 @) n b. q* O- m/ t- {2 K3 g• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; # O& E8 O& _& z2 C* _) t* T1 [: N
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to ) x! [4 S* Y+ h% u6 W
effectively and positively represent the association; 4 x& q: J: _. {9 K* {$ W( v. W. Q e

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring # [5 B+ b9 N5 ?" S1 ?% A
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
' q. |( f5 ^: S) T• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
; b/ J2 H& U9 uperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
9 [4 ?6 a R4 |9 x: u9 jthe forthcoming year;
0 D9 a* Z' Y# ?• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
1 b5 O- n/ K0 Q! r, e2 y+ opractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of - x, u8 p* g8 x! T

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

6 H5 v7 @. }$ q• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
! Y8 x6 ?1 I& d6 `) E# I6 L5 _0 m- p• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
/ i% r- P `4 K5 uabilities; $ p* m7 s- @ J7 k1 B# _, d
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
) s7 y2 \8 `" VNetworking and Fundraising; $ ~4 a0 }$ o A# T0 [5 C' {6 A
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
: s8 f' w+ Z9 D) }! Q6 m9 Uand financial statements; and
* z, L0 ?5 x6 z5 j! |# n• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
