Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 9 r! u1 W3 O% i7 O0 I0 a

Specific responsibilities include:

the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by " ^, T6 ~4 ]& |; s
the Board of Directors;
, O6 m% ?4 h8 w7 c• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
! H9 p$ q) c: i' s' m- \including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
A) z, C" F$ s0 s) K) pobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

4 Q( b, V( ~. K• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
+ t( F4 n7 A9 J. e0 s7 K• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ' s0 a; N1 x0 J& Z2 a
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
& u5 b! ]7 D0 c" A4 F' n- u; [1 S• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
& N0 f8 s; ]% H3 Tchanging needs of the organization and community;
9 [8 Q- O' M3 z4 M7 ?• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 4 y. ]6 t+ {1 m. ~7 n
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective : e0 X V0 B' J
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; % I2 x2 y9 a2 a4 j; z
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; " @0 d/ @( S+ q7 ]
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to , v( \/ L. a2 L
effectively and positively represent the association;

3 U8 I9 P! |- F6 M* }. ]% F' X• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
+ o8 q/ [" m: m! ] Z$ Ethe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
c7 d5 _, ]6 d• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal : U3 e3 C4 f% s% V9 `
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
% a. j2 G) A q0 pthe forthcoming year; # t C% l6 B& H- C& g/ Q* Q
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
5 k* x9 H( J& q4 jpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of , Q+ n( l( C8 G. o; I: R" Q+ a
YWCA Canada; and

Required Experience
7 x3 K5 v5 I$ k+ M- G* E* q• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
3 q/ l9 b' C, h* C: E7 h• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
2 k& D3 ^3 V& ^! M6 Vabilities;
; m, p+ s/ \8 ^0 |3 T; N1 W• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
