this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Specific responsibilities include:

! L+ b* e! q m5 A" w s• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
' v# Q( ^0 @# _3 nthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 1 _$ a1 o( |( g, q, M. |0 Z
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 2 A0 T8 s! |7 U H3 t7 a
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
8 _. N$ X2 G5 F/ c• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 1 X/ U. j. N7 l. w1 t
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 1 S8 x8 A7 O4 J [% n1 a
the board;
8 O3 l2 l1 m* p( q8 U& F! T. A$ Z• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 6 y/ V7 {9 N! ^) A" P( V# h/ [
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion / i% O; d% z5 ]2 F
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
& ~% `& m- ?5 V3 g( f• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
/ H) {" ~. f6 h ^! F. @4 S4 g1 }changing needs of the organization and community;
: N5 O9 n% |$ C7 w• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ; d' Z' v2 ~1 j# p5 l. x$ a5 j

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; % W- l R, G) A
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective - I7 ^+ f: ^, ^; I
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
# ]( f( Q9 |* U# o• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; & u. d' S$ L( b+ h& ]9 _0 J
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
& z7 [3 d9 X0 E8 |/ beffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
# y& _ L q9 [. y/ C" p9 _the implementation of systems to manage these risks; , e' g, g% T) z6 g: y1 H! S
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
6 K& A' t, A, c5 `" ]performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 8 D7 t7 w* [( n
the forthcoming year;
# r8 P6 |( ^5 r• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 0 V- Q" s8 J7 z
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Experience
) j$ V6 I. @4 l# U' L. U) P• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
! x: f6 |/ C6 j" |# S& \ M9 `• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation / Z) p: T; Y# M$ h8 F E
abilities;
