Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 5 @) K) W K5 [4 R( x
execution of the YWCA Strategy 5 \9 q7 G, [8 w" H. l, j, R* U1 r

1 s, e+ `6 q! T) M. w# ~' m8 V• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
/ W/ F( R6 F' s& J ?3 i. {the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations # ~# U1 [( Z+ ~7 x/ k/ _0 Y$ [
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and " H0 G- a" e8 x2 C- x. D& y
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by / O( h" l c6 ~) \1 J

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; W3 w- q; I9 {( C; [0 U0 v
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
" Q0 P9 z1 N6 p: x' s6 Ithe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
0 X0 V3 i" t: @• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the : n2 y. I1 c7 M" N& l4 Y
changing needs of the organization and community; $ u1 g M8 ]& M, N$ u
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 6 b, e: O* }( q
commitments;
1 z2 Y2 p- W8 {3 { T0 L• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
& _$ z' A7 Y: X- p• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective H2 a3 n' `2 t4 A. `! r) L! C3 M
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ! z; p7 ~" j- e; U; n; }6 E! ^
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; $ s9 R6 T7 K- P- H. n8 @( {: J' y
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 9 _3 K' F1 ]9 @ t
effectively and positively represent the association; # F/ J3 R8 b7 Y+ R

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ) A2 |6 D4 b+ N7 P* z c1 E
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
- I8 _: S9 P4 N9 T. o• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ) I/ K/ v: c( G% x! m, C
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
% w; g* U: H# a4 a' b" Fthe forthcoming year; 1 O9 f1 s; x8 P+ {% h/ o
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical " Q" U* t* \% f$ X% s
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ! y" [$ S- V& E+ _4 X9 n6 y
YWCA Canada; and

Required Experience
- a' l2 v8 x+ j) N• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
0 H: F+ d% D( J6 R5 N• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation , \) N7 h( P5 a/ B( H
abilities;
" Z/ ?- T7 S2 E• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
( I: l6 r, s/ m/ _. K& [* }Networking and Fundraising; ; }3 e0 m9 D t' [0 a0 P
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women ! z' T5 j$ j" Z/ c
