Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 2 ]4 |* H! R! S. J( J+ A
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
* h' O( l- g- _# Z$ L/ s3 ^the Board of Directors; & a9 o6 r+ p) ^" k
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 6 @6 H9 R g! M
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
+ m: e% I# S9 E! Menable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; " |# h7 p" N, _# X, [! z1 I7 p1 Z
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
9 L6 e! Y9 g( W! y1 [+ [objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

! M6 `- k: R9 ^4 g+ d, r• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 9 Q7 D; m6 R3 l* j2 ^, s9 V- l
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion + D, _ ^3 t1 N- A* s1 P. k$ z
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 6 A2 J3 ~- _7 U
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the + B! C u& b/ \! A
changing needs of the organization and community; - a4 L$ M3 I5 \2 w5 L
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
& r7 q$ m6 j) X3 n5 t2 K, W1 Ucommitments;
( F7 ^' n9 O, X• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
" p y" g/ ?1 i6 }1 @5 ]6 e. m9 G• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 6 ?+ i! g3 t6 m* [+ w
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 2 t& s# w2 N. b4 C8 J
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; M# m6 }* W ^( f5 A
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
. u' s$ [4 y* x+ ?7 Xthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
& q( I8 v0 n- j! k• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal + _3 Q; @9 g! K- M7 K+ c4 R
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
. r" w& ^ ?( W2 jthe forthcoming year; 9 ~+ _2 m) Z4 ?$ p d D( W8 ^
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
3 R& O5 q) F; f" tpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task # I7 S' G2 y5 E: N K0 r- Y5 a7 N

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 0 b( T: z! u/ ~/ c6 T @" E
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
2 t/ P# ]8 ~& }; H7 t: r6 Z# \abilities; 2 z% G1 C5 B( G) n1 m4 J
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
2 I$ V2 \" r- _$ x5 SNetworking and Fundraising;
; B; V% u0 z% ]+ N; s0 w$ O• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting ( a2 I4 Q7 z3 j( f
and financial statements; and
