Responsibilities

execution of the YWCA Strategy

4 J! U7 T4 e: \# s• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of . O3 [2 S+ }9 v) b" v5 L( {
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
/ K# _% H3 E4 a( m+ wthe Board of Directors; ( u% _5 K4 L" p& P L- g, T
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ' m# \3 G6 Q+ L3 L# _+ {4 {$ Y2 Q
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 7 R5 L* V% w$ T/ ?
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 1 y- {9 o4 P- b n
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
8 W- }9 G H) y8 [+ ?8 h. qobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by - y$ W; V, r: l3 l2 g& n% Y
the board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion " c+ R! U( o" o" b" `9 p
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
' C7 B" x+ r1 Y% {: u% b• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

8 S0 f; i% J( F( i w+ |• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; / X1 I# H7 d' |+ `
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
3 A5 a* t% b# Kselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ; A$ ^3 A. ]3 S' d- b$ a# [
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
. `% j; [9 L: ~- Tthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 4 d3 q+ Z% k* {% d2 H4 v3 r: |
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
5 T- P: X) Y u! i8 ^performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ' J2 ^3 g: V9 E8 g7 j1 J4 \- E, K
the forthcoming year;
/ [, v* N, r8 i% I9 t8 n' a, f• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical $ S. r' v0 r' o4 b
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Experience
' d0 J; a+ q0 i1 U• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; * H! D) j, x N0 Y& m
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
) f+ ^$ J1 m8 J, v ]0 Xabilities;
) h6 }5 z8 _0 W• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
1 d6 d) W- C4 i% H9 \! JNetworking and Fundraising; 9 x5 F+ d% o4 `- H- V$ M0 W
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 1 U8 a2 n$ d$ t* R7 `
and financial statements; and

centered perspective.
