Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

4 N: b. ~0 @" R' b ?1 C/ F5 x• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
1 W; h2 O3 ?" w( F9 l4 pthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

/ U0 |! Z) a6 d$ c! C( v7 M: D• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
+ P4 }6 S' y+ [. U- h8 {3 G: _0 dincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 4 C+ q+ J9 z% L1 R) j* E
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; # Z/ {* v5 e, e! ]. q r' h i
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 0 B1 w4 P& j2 U+ e2 h
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
( K) x" ~2 v! n# Qthe board;
! t/ }/ j u4 Y4 b4 p& w" u! g• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
' F' S6 {: e; h& D# ?• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 1 J" g, {8 z6 R) y
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
+ X9 M5 v7 C9 ?4 }• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
# V$ ^8 v! x8 C4 S7 \changing needs of the organization and community;
. B; s% a1 X! O0 m: g: @• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
& y' Y# g8 J: E& A; E& fcommitments;
, v0 e" B4 a$ q: j3 R* p• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
: ?1 s- z, H! h, J• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
) W6 f8 d, |' Iselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
5 F# @4 ^ } k• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; $ H8 C7 ]$ q0 B& i; J
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to u; |" t' u, x& C, ^
effectively and positively represent the association;

the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
& t. T2 [: g3 \$ n. S• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
( @7 P/ z2 J9 l0 Z& o* a. aperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
, v) @2 u- M f1 @# [, I1 ~% w* |2 Othe forthcoming year;
( }1 @7 \3 V/ k$ |2 j, ~$ d• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 8 k: s9 f+ X% z6 `6 w( _
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
: n) z* O6 I5 ?& S1 _• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ( H" z* |5 E& Y: H; K; a
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
8 b6 x& k. E3 M4 n8 B& m5 G/ \abilities; 4 \( o- w) f# T
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, ; C- h7 T$ H! r0 P+ p0 t$ s$ @+ z
Networking and Fundraising; $ D+ `& r! c" A# K7 {
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting / {. W' y5 ^9 Z9 ]0 M4 t: L9 b( |5 d7 w+ e
and financial statements; and
