Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and % w' f2 k9 [5 j ]
execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ; [, k2 _4 K7 r7 l. {
the Board of Directors;
0 ^9 A6 X+ Q I4 _4 U4 q0 G# ~• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
# I5 h; t; V! g! l( n8 Z' H( j0 c, eincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by * i5 r* J L: V: I! q9 V8 `: y# [

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; v! w: g/ {4 v. R/ d
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
) b6 U$ @1 s) ]: V/ nthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; c% A( Z4 w+ R! q& C+ d4 l8 H7 a
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
" k5 H3 ]+ n; \changing needs of the organization and community; 0 [# q( c( y" |4 M" x5 \
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue % k! `% ?2 K0 S( Q" A
commitments;
% S& n& {+ a4 V# M& o• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
0 H6 Y% n6 V+ ]. f• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
& D8 g: X5 Z6 Y# ^7 J8 Lselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
0 `7 A5 ^" e" @% L+ S• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 2 A9 S7 m- K% l* N7 y
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring - L1 h; M2 ~1 z. I$ V* F+ V
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
7 j5 e" n0 X y: X+ A) U, o% M• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 2 V* N& a! b' X0 q* s! {% Q$ |
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED - w" R6 X8 i$ A# R8 O
the forthcoming year;
5 v0 i, ?8 M" C; N• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
+ z! m* A E* N7 T0 Ipractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of : ^& \1 `" \+ Y" V8 z9 X

Required Experience
8 ~% O( r1 y& q• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
& }( K' _" ]% I3 Z$ a/ j6 x• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
6 i& F! p, V7 r: _! ~abilities;
2 Z1 C @$ B" N' M8 C• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 2 N" j) O. M1 w q8 x- l6 ~9 c

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 7 [* C4 q* f+ @) j+ r9 u
