The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic % b, e3 y# m! @# d

this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

surrounding region. Through generous support from a variety of funders and donors, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 3 ]# ^5 g$ m3 W" q
execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

" g. H* ?1 l4 S h. H• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 0 O" g) P R0 F5 L+ \. |5 _
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by $ l- G5 q7 J# s& s0 ~4 f
the Board of Directors;
7 o9 y0 U9 L6 Y# h/ U+ ]• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations % P! ^8 Z" g9 y l
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 9 r" G V* M) S7 W" ~/ [
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 5 G# r6 [/ Z4 \& k: b/ M+ Y
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
" a( z' X# d% Mobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by * k, s/ }: ~( \, K+ e0 u3 ^' e
the board;
* a" a9 w! J# ?• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ; p% ] f6 M, k4 E. ~ C
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion . J9 Y# M( M# u" O( K2 l
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ) `' `" n2 P- r% f
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the - n4 }1 M5 k0 m
changing needs of the organization and community;
9 W, e: X* y/ ~3 x/ A- u& s$ B• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue . s) y, r5 l7 }+ V8 H2 m2 a

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
; D9 G" k" x0 Q* G- @. N% b$ i# k• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 7 M f- ?# c, h- }' r) }
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; * E' h C+ A' O9 K1 I3 v
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ! A( @* s! D2 j4 k4 V
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to % J" R! V$ s: ]" D* I
effectively and positively represent the association; & |7 M1 [5 _' X7 W2 N( I

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
8 K9 h/ A. h9 \0 f. |the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
! i# ~1 s& P O' K- c% S& E• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal % ?! {% A6 x/ |# W$ f
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
; M8 N: U! J$ X% L* dthe forthcoming year; ) u, D$ z% P- P( X- R& f
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
5 O/ L2 @) _1 `9 zpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 3 ~* B0 I7 j# B' R% V- E# y( V

Required Experience 8 G l }/ q& J' b
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
( n5 x( J b* ~2 n8 m• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 1 y% Q5 z1 z/ k" L' m
abilities;
1 ]2 |# x% ^: C( R9 v• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, ( m' E4 G" y) S8 P, f: ~
Networking and Fundraising; / b% e0 w& a8 a
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting " w' H+ {" i0 w) i& f; P" k) G

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
