Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 3 h0 k% J- a6 v/ C- ^
execution of the YWCA Strategy

4 Q! Z& S7 ]# z- U6 sSpecific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 9 h5 r, B H$ _! Q7 ?% ?! [
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ' r7 O) g9 v: }4 C$ s
the Board of Directors;
) ~. x* u: P) B" d• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
% J; Q# f- s& S3 [: Eincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to T% l, E% d6 k' q
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ' D* Q5 e8 z! Y( v2 G9 |
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 7 N2 w, d: {" H9 f4 ~0 z" S- O2 g
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
* e% A/ T% l# w; Ythe board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ' d/ p! r; O$ i( K
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
. w3 L j. c5 m# n• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
. ~7 l t$ e. E$ {9 L$ F/ z) v$ ^changing needs of the organization and community;
* R5 f& p. u+ r B* W: x5 L3 H• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 5 e; M# [* [' h
commitments;
; d2 q- @ j6 J, U# e: ^) }, N: B• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
; u" s' x; s. P/ {" |& D% d• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 5 m$ l* t, k9 |
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
t9 j+ @0 ^9 ^3 O: o2 Q• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 2 L" Z7 }0 y# I* h
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 1 [7 y0 B+ U% t# r- l
the forthcoming year; ; g0 Y+ }/ O9 I. [. v+ U4 y
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
, W7 M) H" R" U5 ]; q `practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of * a% c$ K, y! j5 q$ m

Required Professional Designation / Certification

Required Experience ! s; k7 S7 R/ o4 ]6 Z
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
/ V) J' j3 s" ]# l- i+ v( V• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 7 w2 H2 V7 b1 x, e6 _
abilities; ' ~& j ^+ A7 S8 n0 F; ?
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, & O& `. }* J) @! R& ~5 R9 {
Networking and Fundraising;
' i, w' O X0 p2 O# h2 p• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
