Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 4 R n; D0 g! B! j2 z) I
execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 0 X) a2 G1 e3 _$ Y, C& \
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 9 h% G1 u8 b, S. I% v) m
the Board of Directors; 5 H/ ~) I1 g3 n+ _( z9 g( |. ~
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 7 V* U: A0 R. {. f
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to Y7 z7 f$ M! M8 V# j
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
! @6 D+ m) |/ l4 y1 W' W• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
" n5 w* E0 l$ R3 pobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 1 L" r( f& b4 Y( G& U# ~! q- E
the board;
/ o8 X/ X9 S6 h* P) Y0 G• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
! u4 j+ m: F) H; `• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
' n1 u( }& z) ~( \, H2 gthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; $ k- L. u+ P& ~3 N& \ _1 Y
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
0 ~, ?+ w1 i7 qchanging needs of the organization and community; 9 }" [7 P$ o8 [+ X" v4 W$ ?
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
! w6 ~0 n( {8 c9 _/ E& Kcommitments;
/ q, |- }# T1 ?- ^. ^( ?6 S7 }• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
$ z, b5 u! g$ x& Q" o, K• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
1 ?6 o7 f+ v& I8 w8 e8 V3 L/ Pselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 8 G) N- {' V) U5 h, S' ?: d' z2 S
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; % z+ \' Q$ g( W' P$ D- j
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

8 t4 d9 X) n) N1 x- O• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring

7 \% F; E0 E+ Z6 d/ L/ c8 c5 K |; J• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 5 ?4 \3 P! j; _( ]5 m" ~* e2 l/ W
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ( s$ S6 C0 t# Q8 p' U& k
the forthcoming year;

practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; , G& t" W! V# u6 |" G
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 5 a# e& H) c. \, C3 K9 ^' i: N( A
Networking and Fundraising; 3 N- H! y; q: O* {. A+ M9 Z6 ~
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
