Specific responsibilities include:

+ z* N6 b6 u* |' j+ i. _) G: H• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ( Y$ C' Q0 @& E) B a4 U% A& L
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by # B, F/ V2 Q2 h m1 @3 y" L" o
the Board of Directors; - p3 q3 p/ M% M- \
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
+ R$ F+ R* i3 J# l! G4 d6 R) hincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to , q+ z2 m5 D$ \8 K
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; $ l6 n$ L: M/ I% g D, t) K
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
9 h. Q" C0 q l7 [0 H7 Dobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 1 R) p6 I' I; p X8 @8 E
the board;
0 L& x& D) r( z- H7 a, G N• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
1 M$ q. C& L+ c• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion C" x {: l5 D4 j* B- Z' P) G0 n
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
9 e% O3 G* g Z! w• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ) L( { i. B# a- m/ d# ^5 X" C
changing needs of the organization and community;
) R6 t3 {. b) d V u) J• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
' S% h5 N! X4 _2 lcommitments;
* k+ d1 ~4 F* L, r• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
* ~4 q, N* Z$ p G- p t9 y• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
. i% [: W. A1 iselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ; c W' C8 t' f2 O
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; " v: G& S& e% |' r
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
( d$ A4 q. b8 ?" `1 z0 ~effectively and positively represent the association;

7 c4 T$ h$ D7 U• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring / k$ H0 n5 @6 Q3 G9 ~+ m- k* D
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
0 X7 ?* Q0 t* i& K% t \( |• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 0 ^) z% G. H3 D$ w7 g
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ( J$ x8 `; z* D, C" f3 s" U
the forthcoming year;

practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
1 H. d; }/ E: v6 B• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
& N; y6 S8 l8 [2 |, D: jabilities; ; R; o: P$ a6 t
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
9 u9 M+ e, o. X( t% ?' ^( YNetworking and Fundraising; : }3 k# l, ~8 n" D: j4 C
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
4 q' u0 w5 V$ @ r& Gand financial statements; and 8 }0 c) g" X& e5 i& n- c
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
