Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by " r+ y6 e6 G8 U1 u( o

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
7 G: d7 }# }' y* C: \including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
* H5 X+ H2 [0 Z6 |! Z8 q# Xobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by , |% d: k# g# y0 C4 U/ `, K; B) z

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ; x& t1 v9 F: V+ ~( B$ y5 P, e
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
- b5 O e4 z9 E. S% m' n k, nthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 5 k1 S/ h& s" U0 g+ j: T; t6 w
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective M( _( R( a, u0 l5 v
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
6 w; V9 O0 W) A• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 9 w" v% m7 r( u' g
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

$ B- H. J( V- v& L( T$ k* X• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring

• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ' g' D8 s7 Z/ [) u
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED : p. g0 |9 h3 z
the forthcoming year; ( f: o! H4 Y% D& m" m* j+ G+ p+ i# g5 z
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
) }6 } w( r5 y) `8 vpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Professional Designation / Certification
; W& O) u$ p' l$ V/ }5 u• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; - ]/ x0 x7 Y/ J3 k/ w+ a
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation n u4 u! i5 h: u0 N
abilities; % M* P8 p& R" n2 e
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
) t7 K2 e) B) E' u3 A2 qNetworking and Fundraising; 7 w3 ~: d6 m5 F
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women , `3 U0 Q) N7 X
