• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
# f2 d# |* ]4 [0 u8 [3 ?% lthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
% j* K' r& k* l( t9 Qthe Board of Directors;
( E( |9 `6 E) |" V( @: h% `• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations / L+ J. F+ a) h
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

/ ?- m: ^9 c! E+ d4 D% h• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 9 P0 f3 M9 ~) V3 i
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by , J( }9 c) j0 w/ _* F
the board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 1 ~5 q( w4 U) |; p) ]# j$ r4 g* V: D
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
) M6 F9 |) @% G5 C3 L( i7 |5 i! O0 n7 e• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

5 r: Z' k6 `. L5 N( I• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; : W2 z9 M) a/ @/ ~0 O
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
* u: ?6 i1 r8 Qselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; + c. `' L1 g) @$ L' x: J. ~
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ) S9 ?! q: \# f) V' y& l5 K" \! V
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to # N/ R" S$ j1 g- o% L
effectively and positively represent the association; # n0 k( D/ Z( J3 Q5 q
; _& ?" b1 q/ ]9 \9 J+ l; [• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring * L" c/ G" f. K4 o/ v# F
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
3 f( a0 t# \+ m3 p/ ^+ b* a• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ! X$ d) Y* {; M3 _0 w
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED : Z: f4 W9 z" C5 C/ q
the forthcoming year; + ]! n7 c# ?) ]; A; h) o; A0 [
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical # r6 y6 e8 L; W9 c$ i* @+ A# V
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of * P% M7 a& h# k' I1 k
YWCA Canada; and

Required Professional Designation / Certification
& l, K8 Y; Z0 F/ W- Z• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience 4 y0 g m& A4 t9 x6 ~
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; - \( g9 a7 Y# Q y
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation : y. V( b% z: l0 _0 i: X

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, # T: a; I( o8 f" z2 V% y1 G$ \

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
