The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 1 W' X$ K/ \; M, U: b
execution of the YWCA Strategy - Z7 R% ~# i5 m2 J: J! x9 Z6 h

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
H8 `* l5 k* N; M) {the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ' [" ^1 q0 ~( E# u$ `
the Board of Directors;
, o, P" W6 z: c' f5 ]& f5 W• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
: z5 x! U0 W+ ?* X$ E5 K! Rincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to - W% S |8 K8 j4 S
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
% p7 }7 p& V3 \* |• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 7 A B8 U# j0 o0 t1 O% u! P; j: ?
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

5 ~* n! Z0 m3 @9 F$ K• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; . h6 |+ P! z# Q/ A2 i$ r3 e. B
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
% `% f: z9 l& h n. I0 D9 Othe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; . |) X+ V5 t2 ?0 @' L; Y
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
2 u H% r3 e- x1 D* V5 zchanging needs of the organization and community; 5 I! r6 F8 E8 Q+ x9 j
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue " Y* d1 Q v4 @$ h& u9 i

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
o8 P) @' R: \4 ]% a1 o0 x0 Y• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
; w& Q3 J8 k. j. {. D) K7 s+ jselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
0 {8 ]) a2 `$ T5 {• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ; v; `) V" \# y8 b4 k
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
; w! O8 @; V7 Z0 deffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
8 V$ j6 f9 C" t7 Othe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
( u, T. P" ?3 ?7 E2 F/ i• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
( [# R4 C2 u2 n" `+ V6 ?performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED * Z' E% h4 c3 U9 J1 o. g/ S1 S4 k
the forthcoming year;
" g6 W4 R% |- `• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 3 G" \& C F! t! M% m' ^% B# Z" l
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

" o& U. q' t( S# m• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task 6 V5 U% Y! K! b# C

: @, C, T/ K5 F/ j• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
1 | k( ]/ i' o0 H• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation # I- @0 [; u' e- X
abilities;
* y- q# V0 Z1 {: I; a7 T; ?* ]• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
