" v r0 H {1 t. T: rReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

Specific responsibilities include: 7 W7 O: {/ s7 W

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
% Y- A' V# u, d. ^6 qthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
. P; C5 h) ?7 X- a6 b1 E bthe Board of Directors;
; Z. w: G6 a& |) d0 X/ X3 k• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 2 N5 U# Z9 r$ A! c: K6 F
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to . G0 u' b$ C' @& B$ G
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
: U: r v% J7 [0 m( T0 j& u1 g# G• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
: f5 Y6 j5 G3 |" r& c8 w0 Q6 b: h3 Pobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
2 `! P, {: W6 l- Q- O7 u- L, x. h• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
9 G( B/ L' W+ Qthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
+ l) I2 \* f o7 A• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
$ ~$ B+ O7 N" {& ]" fchanging needs of the organization and community; 6 n: }, ^. G2 {" t6 O
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue * \- d/ {6 {1 [' b! L- ?
commitments;
8 b+ R% k4 e( h5 L8 p• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
' O8 v+ X0 Y, f& E" G! Q* D8 r7 Z7 N$ f• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 3 J( n3 A% K$ h8 l2 x" ^( {
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
: ?) Y z9 f+ ]' g6 j/ A S• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 2 v; J; \4 S2 p
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 5 p: x" S2 ~; y# L- }$ J( u
effectively and positively represent the association; / S5 c, t! L4 d6 ~" n3 e+ c5 s
+ f7 B4 e9 r1 T* P- x( v }• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 2 V" U+ N Z' d8 U
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
. J; _* A7 k A5 \• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
& N3 T! m( p' a4 Yperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED # j9 u! L' Y8 \, m. f( d
the forthcoming year; 6 t& i3 V. e( |3 \
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ; ?, E" ?- o& v- e5 k4 ~: I7 a1 }
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ! T/ l) _2 I2 p/ B7 `
YWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ( C& W5 I) h# O/ P
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
+ R' m2 ^ l& W6 C3 }0 }0 N+ Labilities;
7 e; ^3 \; {% F# t• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

and financial statements; and
