execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
3 j$ E# c" Z' a6 {0 i' Dthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
( V- T! e5 R' ~4 kthe Board of Directors; % l, A+ `. s( N! x- G
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 8 c D( A$ U2 b- }* J* j
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
B% e' `+ g4 y# Y- ?enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; * b8 t# W J" |$ G5 R
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and : B! R4 e2 N/ K* {/ q
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 4 L7 N" A1 I; B
the board; % y+ c F# P' R( \
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
( m/ o1 B) f$ E) m5 u' L& V• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion * C% R* r* E5 s/ t$ `* g
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
9 W. u0 H; s7 X• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
8 N3 a/ h0 F0 g5 F+ K1 L# qchanging needs of the organization and community;
5 z/ S9 y3 }! Q8 Q• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

+ v8 ^" k& u6 x3 k; Q• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; + e% E! M$ d& V6 V4 I; D2 N) {& r
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective : w( \ _# L/ ]4 B- B- \
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
5 a/ x2 r- e: }$ `7 J• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; . S _1 |7 }0 A; k1 m
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 0 G6 O; j& W) b( A! K' r
effectively and positively represent the association;

the implementation of systems to manage these risks; ) \; h- b/ E8 N. d
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 9 J5 o( C w! W9 d0 j9 c2 s
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ' ?; o O4 h5 P; d, U, J
the forthcoming year; , h# h& y8 T& H. E) R1 Y
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical $ H- I7 D9 V. S7 v/ @. h& f
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ! H$ I* ?" f6 C: u* V5 z! S- p+ f1 F
YWCA Canada; and

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
" f. D3 c) C$ Z6 J• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting * V3 ~2 y" U" s% t/ |
