The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

execution of the YWCA Strategy 9 I. ?6 @/ e# B$ |! E

6 f4 D4 E7 j# Z6 ~• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
. {6 V' s9 x9 H) o8 m6 pthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 8 d* i5 _4 A" }9 C& n% Y. }* i
the Board of Directors;
# ?1 t/ {* J9 Z5 d y% U, p• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 1 P% S- h- S# e' P$ _4 o
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ) p8 }0 U* O* v& {
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
: L4 B1 B$ V1 W7 \• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
5 {/ W" H/ }, z9 }: R$ j5 B! Nobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 9 u- n# _$ @* q
the board;
9 C) w ]3 |/ z l• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 1 X' }. R$ j, T- z
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 8 p, {# B. c" n/ a" T) k, \' j
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
3 h4 N- t; N+ Z/ [- ~( O5 X• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the . l- O% ^; |* d& s0 ?1 e9 C
changing needs of the organization and community;
6 W: s& U* y9 M+ d5 }( Z, p! P• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 0 T0 f. K, |; d. F& n. q

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
3 C) \2 L( |. m' o& w0 X" C% t• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective * ?! H( n+ z$ Y0 |9 q- x6 o
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ' u% ~- X+ R8 t T4 b
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
( B+ u ?( e+ K) T* O• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to & ?; U. x; m" J7 B9 `
effectively and positively represent the association; 1 X+ M4 u2 f5 F5 n
6 U+ i* l2 Z6 u0 M6 `* E• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring & M/ L2 S; \7 U( O0 ^" \
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; ' L3 S/ ]8 N' t6 ]+ t
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 5 B d/ P9 u* k0 s$ @6 i
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

Required Professional Designation / Certification 0 c# l( ?6 A3 R# ~) z- @% L
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; # J6 e D* X" S/ y0 A
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation b, n7 \, [2 W" Q" _3 |2 w
abilities;
- @5 Q8 p; a; j {/ A• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
, q( y' p2 C X5 j3 _- W& P- J9 g3 M' tNetworking and Fundraising;

and financial statements; and
