Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 4 k* l; H. n$ f
execution of the YWCA Strategy 7 P0 O' R- u3 U6 A

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of : g$ G6 E1 d4 h# n/ p4 Z( f
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by : C8 J- t* w7 |. P7 @7 m
the Board of Directors; ; e: |) f" W. W( _/ z- C) \
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
: W* P% @# c0 T* p. Bincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to / G+ \. \' _1 p. E `" V
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ) W" S5 @0 s3 u- E- `5 ]
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and $ j4 a5 I& O4 R5 y$ n8 ~
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
9 ?2 M5 |3 B4 P$ B- o7 o# gthe board;
/ J7 D4 b" _/ o. n/ w) o• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
# v% h2 K7 g0 Q2 E& N' I8 Y* V& X• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
0 h! S, W' i: { i: bthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
7 ^6 N& J2 u& [- U: B3 X7 _• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
3 U4 Q8 D |3 z+ N6 U4 r* ~changing needs of the organization and community;
3 a0 B5 G( D* z6 r1 g• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 3 ~( R3 W! T, }* V$ B; r

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 8 {, ~' g Y% M3 P& P
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective : ?( Z+ T! ]5 } }+ ^
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
9 Y# l* H f( X( x• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 0 i7 k- Y; L Q& f; F) a
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
q5 c8 a1 n& d) b! Veffectively and positively represent the association;

0 s+ _1 t1 x' q5 Y, X1 M$ ?# S* o• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
1 k* o g" U/ r, N# `& [1 ~8 l3 dthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 1 L1 v! y/ B4 ?. M3 V o& y0 v( o
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
# L" m. I! c) T0 [1 Yperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 2 \# m7 t0 n1 M! H8 ]: c: K
the forthcoming year;
5 F6 U- Y6 K; i: F6 _2 {6 C• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
9 e# w; h7 G! w8 R+ S! {" {practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
6 E2 s" }' A- L, R! |• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

1 d9 E# Q+ W0 u/ L$ ~• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

and financial statements; and
