this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ! z" `9 I$ j) G7 k7 S) ]
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 0 {7 N+ ]' J3 S' Z! ~
the Board of Directors; 2 f0 u8 ^! x% ~+ a3 F3 k4 E" w& {4 x
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
- [, ?. }5 D. J7 ?9 ^including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to : X4 I( |: N" C/ k- f( z( x# J
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; : Y9 t' \1 h7 E) f
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
# ^( X6 d9 M6 N9 C8 fobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 0 r5 u+ T$ Q) t4 Z& a9 t
the board; " m+ m( D0 c; N
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
/ w0 J. X- O$ x2 i/ o• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
: C& H$ s7 U$ \) ^3 Sthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
+ y1 ~; @2 Q! Z3 S% G• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 6 ^$ B2 _; _3 f- N" _; T
changing needs of the organization and community; & \& m: d+ s) g. x, h; H
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
) Z/ D) b0 V2 Ccommitments;
5 y1 |% w6 T+ g- ^/ `• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
% ~6 W! u$ c5 L# `8 Q• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective , m1 p, O5 J/ N! w- V% E- c
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
0 t! C. v5 c- I• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 1 u) m6 v! z9 Z+ |$ _
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
% h2 ?& x* l7 z1 d9 Zeffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
7 L) N( c7 q9 i+ N3 Xthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; & Z4 g8 [$ `5 m$ ]! r6 j
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
% R2 T- x/ d' Q4 ]' T8 c: `* i0 tperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED / k1 J! z/ B* M$ ^. @3 b
the forthcoming year;
5 W& P9 {" p8 g4 G4 g6 H: X( A• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
( k: g$ n( z4 [1 {practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ( a' _9 {5 t, ^5 D9 a) q9 [/ K, d

T* X. g6 r; j7 H x• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

. ~2 g: f+ x" I1 k; I5 r• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ' g5 Z, K7 a; Y6 _; [& n
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
( r' s' x8 F2 U2 pabilities; # [% f/ j; d2 t
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 0 O, _# y" j" a4 F) ]! A( a0 ^
Networking and Fundraising; : c, G! m9 K& E2 [, [. C
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
7 q3 y$ g( p& M9 G8 G: T0 Yand financial statements; and
