Responsibilities

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
% D/ @! L. K9 h% [( Sthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
/ i G0 Y$ y8 Q3 ]- y1 H1 Gthe Board of Directors; ( J; t9 k; A; ?& d$ ~) A( T
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
! l7 F. B+ G1 \7 K. Kincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 0 ?. \! ~2 t; w4 R5 H
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 2 N' N& Y, Z- Z9 g7 i5 @* r
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 4 c! h+ h! Y% F4 y( z! N! E- P$ {
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

& e, V0 `9 \9 K! C: R' z5 k, L• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
+ X$ L! ~1 W6 ?/ H5 J4 i" K• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
: U. N" }9 y2 R `3 l) s. Pthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;

changing needs of the organization and community;
5 K6 b. k9 u. e& a9 J5 G- m( r• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue . W1 w5 C+ r1 A! _7 l# A! f0 c

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 1 l; \* X" C/ G7 I
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
& f; N7 n o( `0 Pselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; x# E8 {1 X. D* u
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
* O/ C0 C# L' u! v• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
% l/ @4 [- a3 L# Ieffectively and positively represent the association; $ E& e d/ U) d* V

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring . f' T2 v5 ]1 L* R2 g0 g
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 7 [3 z, ]% E: b: B: v4 S8 K
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 9 _8 f- P. Q* X9 ~' y& j8 i4 |" Q
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
@; K9 Y0 U, |. O. M4 f: |the forthcoming year;
6 O" `( t9 T* ?( \+ `• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification
; c& Q) e3 {3 r- S• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. ) ^5 b* t% Z- Q% V! j4 {

Required Experience
4 k t$ i' |( Z2 l. S• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
) {3 a, n. X6 [: S• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 2 _& S8 g5 {- y, Y7 G
abilities;
) W7 \, X8 F) T& n! Z: T Z+ a• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, D: c$ V- }, k5 |, I
Networking and Fundraising; 1 U. U# ^8 d5 T1 M8 X' r
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
+ u* c8 s2 R9 b( `and financial statements; and
/ }% ?. }2 m5 K) E% g• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women + w3 S- v2 U$ j# x6 V' @- Q1 |7 S
centered perspective.
