• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of + m1 ?% x# N. E" R5 D
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
) c, P z" h' O/ Sthe Board of Directors;
* R5 Z; T( b0 ?% c# Z. m# O• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 8 n2 `8 _' u+ j s1 M! ~: F
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
6 o: s( l# S# d& E l/ g7 a- Eenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
8 O$ \! V+ x' @7 U• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
7 L, V: ?6 a% hobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ( t$ y) U: t4 e5 }

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 6 q3 z2 S8 z0 z
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion U& E* Y2 g( L% Y0 L! d
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
. J/ \& J Y( f n/ F2 x9 X7 T0 M• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 1 j0 j) B% ?3 ~7 U. y

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

& c8 J9 ^1 _+ B& {! r* Q' D• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
2 ~, r2 T5 m- u0 h7 ~3 y& T• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
. X* a$ s' [& ?- s. p, Cselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 4 y, Z" q# x2 O( R1 B
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

9 }8 o6 {4 z9 `" Y8 p% O# O• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring : t" E' ^+ i- a. l6 [; `2 E6 G# T
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
" W3 @7 a# T# ]* i1 `• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
3 Q0 G: [4 s% g6 S5 N0 ^9 R% @/ [performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
, @) k& `: [# @# cthe forthcoming year; 0 J) k/ s& l2 d; R! `1 V5 N
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical - ^8 B& c# u) @* m# X
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 2 n, q, e9 a/ e( D' y; m
YWCA Canada; and

Required Professional Designation / Certification
3 A1 W1 }6 O' `- S• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 1 T7 m' T% `8 ~. Z

Required Experience
2 O( s5 q6 ` Z# m• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
) r' ]' Z$ |) A4 X• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ' M2 `% E% }" [7 K' S
abilities;
8 n/ X) u3 H( a• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
$ n$ v' ~: A4 d- k$ ?4 \" k7 ^" @) eNetworking and Fundraising; 5 `- t* [! h' m8 D) f0 C) S
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
7 a" E, W" ~8 q0 f3 mand financial statements; and
: f5 F8 x+ V# ?$ S0 p9 _2 o• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
