Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
; q7 U' P0 ]5 [: L1 s6 N0 s+ rexecution of the YWCA Strategy

$ ] m; C: z. f* {9 \8 V• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of & m' I% N1 @1 s- E# q" [
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
9 }0 h* a) d" F( I9 l5 P! uthe Board of Directors;
* k: J- R4 M$ d& c- z0 B. W) |• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations P H: e! D% I) i( `
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

) W: E6 u1 j, ?' q/ y8 P+ D• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
~* u" F7 ]5 g; d! y( xobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
0 j% @! L3 b3 }$ m: L• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
" f. u% `9 A1 a' Pthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 9 C/ a0 \& P0 G. q4 I, w+ M
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
/ e! i2 u. v- c3 achanging needs of the organization and community;
) T3 f% }7 c' Q+ |$ z+ s [• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
" P$ V, ]3 a' h% x l; {commitments;
* N; C+ p' S+ K' F• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
# z2 R) {: Q2 b; D! J* }• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective E2 ?, T( L2 z7 ^1 T5 `# |3 Y; K
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
/ `3 n% }# Z& v8 U- Y l* d" y1 B• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ) l0 w( o3 A) [& c$ N. }7 [9 Z) y
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to & ?4 E- r% V! ]7 N* {! U: G$ L% f5 y
effectively and positively represent the association; ; t) v8 Q4 ^0 n* q p! z" J/ @3 a
2 C) K3 T9 y) b( z• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
( }+ \" [" e6 Q7 r& `the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
) N7 Q# x" p- B! ]- Y• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
: L" v: ]2 g$ @performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
8 g0 Y! C; h0 P3 k0 y, Opractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ( q& W2 E* d) k
YWCA Canada; and

Required Experience
7 q0 V3 p. `" N2 {9 d! ], u( j• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
0 A4 N9 u1 m/ a2 a ~. k* `• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
( n1 _6 }& ]; S% |/ ~& ?4 r: sabilities;
1 H: V4 ]; z7 v- z• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
/ F2 n8 Y O$ z5 o" z; [ T: DNetworking and Fundraising; : S/ {, R+ h i1 F# ]$ @1 j
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
