Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and - f& f ^+ ]) N: g, K
execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include: # o; b9 j8 d8 T$ o$ _- p
) M* `/ H7 t0 U+ B* m• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ! S* v" {) C3 Q s/ g
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by : j8 @/ ~$ }: U$ y+ P3 s
the Board of Directors;
$ p7 W) q6 B, J0 j• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 7 h/ ]2 c9 e" A0 S- Y
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to - |: o1 u9 O" c" U$ S$ S, _8 H, S2 s
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
* }0 _9 Q; B7 C• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and & J) |) c; O/ d8 A
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by & Y2 ]8 C4 Y/ T; C8 s: E0 p

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; : i( ? t& M- O2 ^/ l- B, L2 k* J+ o3 J
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
& G6 }0 e9 A( `0 N7 }9 N5 D& g8 }the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
9 K- W, ?0 _+ R* m% q6 \• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue % A1 M% w4 Z/ }

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
/ X E7 J* ?( ?+ \5 o/ [• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
1 i7 I& ^* S; h2 r- @, Mselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 7 G% |$ x# ^4 R4 P7 C6 m( k8 `
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
) L" w! j+ Z2 T- n3 J* Q• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to ' X M# Y1 O% B

0 i4 [; I3 K) C: }• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
0 \8 }' d% L8 ^" qthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 4 Z9 m' P& Z. L4 S
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
; r6 x/ X& b' ]2 R; j1 Q- d* pperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 1 P8 e$ k! x! S! Q3 l. y3 n
the forthcoming year;
/ z) z6 x, ~. R: T8 }. Q0 M• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification

Required Experience
" P% I5 j+ b+ u6 V5 R, N3 p2 ~• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ! W- a# C( u$ R. w) p
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ( E% W( H- A& n8 C
abilities; 7 Y5 r: Q3 A- n! b
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, + |! B9 e* o6 {( C& }# J9 r
Networking and Fundraising; ! _8 [* X K8 }1 N8 ]4 C
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
