The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic : s8 [/ f9 o! _/ P

Specific responsibilities include: X# N6 u3 |+ u6 w) z: n
. D7 e7 h/ p7 Q0 W; Q( k j: v• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
0 g3 R, k4 q0 E7 m7 Q- \- Qthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ( L' T2 Y$ s4 M1 G1 X; e
the Board of Directors; ) r' t6 ]. J3 e6 G+ U) S7 ]* E
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations + P& H) @+ K' v% y5 B! g; Z7 E
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
7 Q- D T- V0 _" b0 e7 K3 D, G) denable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 6 n( G% @1 R1 ^4 w
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 3 E$ M e: Q+ ^. k) t
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by / ^4 M- G j, Q# y
the board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
/ ~9 ~9 X( F3 Hthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; . i9 l E! e+ a3 P
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
# A5 g( b% D$ o0 [7 qchanging needs of the organization and community;
7 @- U% y) w$ E+ |2 U, x* Z• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 0 S& G' A" f6 r
commitments;
/ u+ e& \+ ? k+ T t6 b• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 7 R, U# |$ o1 K! m; g6 f
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
: g7 n" d @: _9 q* Aselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
9 R) Y2 `. i( ]! Y4 |• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
$ m+ n$ U/ u& m" B1 [) r3 r! l• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

: @+ M1 J6 D* I• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
$ C$ E* ` t8 Kthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 8 Y/ b* x9 m2 O0 n- ]0 ^2 G" K
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 4 m) o7 m5 M/ n4 o. g9 K( y
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
: w7 D, M3 ^# othe forthcoming year; 8 m' o8 E1 p8 U- Q
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical " E6 S0 d$ O1 ^$ Z* d+ ~9 G
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
, `1 p, ^+ n& yYWCA Canada; and ) c% Q- q: Q+ U$ c6 K0 u3 d. ~) ?
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task
$ a3 n! P; }3 ~4 }1 w- AForces.

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. ( w6 F0 I5 g- N- C

Required Experience
$ s7 [, o% n* u0 p• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
+ ~) [7 J3 {: r! a6 \# V% Q" ^• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ) v# @/ p# [6 v* [
abilities; 6 U a) U( ^. a5 ]$ k
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, - p! M& X' L9 Q: X" G& U$ G4 I
Networking and Fundraising; 8 R4 e9 i# C' x( |. A9 [8 p6 p
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting - \3 p, O3 d, w' Z" Q

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
