Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
- r6 D* @0 U& H, N" Q( ]the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 3 b. h! X% P6 ~% a: y& q) N
the Board of Directors;
* h1 V ?; c$ B. C• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations * u* [5 ^8 m/ K& D6 P p+ ?8 j2 S
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
) Y; f1 D7 M7 Q% k& n) Y$ ?enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
8 P8 B+ ~0 V1 `• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
3 U* @2 A; f" _+ Xobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by . F: Q3 w& i1 y$ X
the board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ; |7 }2 p/ B; K
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
7 I b) |2 r$ c• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the * t. g9 x( }5 i
changing needs of the organization and community;

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; % d5 `" i& v) M& }: G, t2 Q0 y$ }
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
; Y0 Q) N* p, p t Vselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; * `7 s6 Y2 n" Y" ^$ n+ [
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

effectively and positively represent the association;

the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
2 ~& a1 o0 ~* \/ G& F• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal : C3 p6 `% z9 W2 e' F
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

) ^4 f; }+ \( q6 |- U" L• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
9 s& _0 D! I+ ]5 q6 M! D- Z# ?; Gpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Professional Designation / Certification
1 V/ V$ ~7 L1 T j! X9 y* c, f7 V+ R• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. C! ?% ] i7 [; c

Required Experience 7 p3 d" b! j$ O! b6 Y1 G
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
. n5 [3 ]3 ?: z4 f' I% W: u• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 6 F% L% Q1 O/ n+ E0 a' t3 F
abilities; $ K& S* p- L2 z3 j( o; g
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
7 ?' @( D+ f8 A* X4 ~# @$ o6 |% ~Networking and Fundraising;
3 x5 Z. r& h% w3 z7 f, n• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
