execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

* x/ _0 b; ^- N: v( y( T• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
# U" R; v- N4 k; i3 t/ sthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ; S+ z% _7 j4 _6 D( K6 h

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations - @ S7 e( ?, J
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
& q( w$ r, ^6 a ]enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; % h4 G2 u5 `% j, s& } R
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
+ I9 x4 |+ S% _objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ; \6 H# `! N7 y, Q& J' {& v

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ; p9 Z0 z: J1 l3 _- g6 e0 m. W8 Q
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion $ H- o7 E" x" f7 V4 N
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; / o# X P, D3 @; w
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 0 D8 J$ Z; G; ^& z2 v

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
5 u6 i4 Y) \0 B- D7 ?" K• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
8 D" j- {1 X9 i' `) Zselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 4 s9 A2 v- G+ f& M# }) }
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 6 a" y% Z' O. e9 F+ {
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to $ e: b" b$ ], @
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ! t& ~% [2 g U" W* _. u
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
1 U2 t: f0 S# f; S" i+ M" r; i• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
: L: c/ L5 ?$ pperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

6 q' _9 X5 o& `5 _1 ~• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
5 s, d P8 l6 K& Q7 ]! ]; vpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task 4 V( M( D1 }# E- U: ]0 Q1 [! f

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; % s. u& S- V* G! m
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting - t% H% o3 {( y
