Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 2 [3 c; {* S( Y- f0 o2 n
execution of the YWCA Strategy ! @, K( L$ e1 W! x

Specific responsibilities include: - K" } q: r" O( C" H8 V
" V4 T# |( [+ A' o: X% y g• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 0 G$ t, O. Y' d# I
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 5 N' f9 r# `1 U; u1 [4 C( m
the Board of Directors;
6 \+ @1 h k ~; s• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations , Z+ i' Q3 \" D, R: c. M4 k5 s
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
2 G/ q+ V y+ V5 i, @0 ^enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
" p) }* T5 ^6 r- q8 d( i• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
9 r! U; l- Q2 bobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by # P& U' L. g# _3 h- @
the board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion

• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

/ T. @3 H N+ q: ^) S• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue & ? X3 k6 b4 s' ?2 ]/ C
commitments;
- u7 T, m h5 M! _, M' d; G$ D• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 5 M2 f8 G' o/ [( M8 E
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 1 h5 q/ m: v( e4 g V
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
7 `: G# _, r( X, L5 p7 s1 O8 u• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

9 W& S: ^8 [3 _; s% }• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring / R/ q T6 Z: Y+ ]$ v
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; * @8 A/ n% B$ \4 R. i1 b6 x
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal . }( t9 o9 s( a, J
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

/ G5 e7 e/ h: S9 F' j• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical * T. h) R0 } {8 v
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Experience
: a! G! I, `# B5 f H) |• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
" U T: [1 O- e• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ( \3 }& z% t6 z' g2 E2 b
abilities; # M& B! u5 i, V
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, - `% a; J* {8 s9 d- M7 p
Networking and Fundraising; - p; W3 ~& O: X1 P( M4 p* t9 @
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
- g# K! c: K x$ g3 O/ h7 F: hand financial statements; and
