Responsibilities

* U! q$ y- {! _7 n/ T: ]3 bexecution of the YWCA Strategy 0 @ J" V5 ]; ?! _
( L! e, U* I4 r, FSpecific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ) X6 T1 j \* c
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
1 M2 z& o1 W, Rthe Board of Directors;
8 P* c% f" {1 k4 |, K$ Y' r• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
7 T7 \4 @7 O9 I# z, Kincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
+ g2 Y/ P0 o6 p3 ?4 ] Kenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
7 b: U; h2 ^: [# \9 K• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
' G% Q, {0 K( z& g: s. Z, iobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
( l$ _. b/ k, o, ^$ O k8 V6 H1 j( I• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion & e' w/ C% ~2 X9 K |4 K. J
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; - Y/ t% B+ i' v& g, F
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
; B! o) W' d& G, W6 F$ wchanging needs of the organization and community;
- B- {9 R( \) T8 ~' n2 p• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 3 U( T' [ e w9 t% ~3 i% @: o

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
: m9 x. C( c: Z0 f" x+ N! @. z• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective : ]; J9 u V& V' n) T4 y$ P
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 4 g0 o+ ^4 s4 l2 z# z5 m( J# p: k
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; , R W5 e; q' c4 y
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to ' b) v2 c9 \) J1 A6 u
effectively and positively represent the association; . s, \; A; ?% e6 {

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
6 l3 k* n2 ?. Vthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 3 @- Z0 R9 V& d! P, ?2 a) q* p
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
0 L7 c- A6 G1 U W9 h% l$ Gperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ! s ?5 _+ ^/ f; a4 F: M- j; B4 x
the forthcoming year;
; k1 ?3 W( I# V- ~, c• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical : y3 M! Z% Q" h; M
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

9 M3 D X( E" o, S u2 |- t• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ! D8 h$ P5 t) ?
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation . N7 o" p1 U/ d* ~; R: n
abilities; ' C( o7 @7 Q2 h1 w2 v/ _9 F8 V
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
4 {: F( q0 e& f6 Z! L5 ZNetworking and Fundraising;
4 l: U8 W. r) b3 O# i( u• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 8 L4 S" c: E; P0 O* c0 f
and financial statements; and 9 S( m; n: o. s5 C
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women , }7 E- D+ I$ i5 F4 b% m
centered perspective.
