The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and # A+ F/ l1 K8 [7 ?- S7 I+ M/ Y
execution of the YWCA Strategy ) [- ]2 u, A( O! g' _

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ( {! \+ E H, Q7 y2 c9 ?
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 3 c/ W% I& V2 E8 [9 q
the Board of Directors;
% W; ^1 H, X6 W- T+ e. [" L8 }• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations - O) {: O: D4 C" {6 l
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
+ _* q5 N, p @: H( y" ?enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
6 p( p* Y, L+ V! i/ K, T4 }• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
M3 e' c- S5 D% _* dobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by - L% b. l# I- |# X# ?2 j4 j4 t
the board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
: G! N2 g; F- m5 | Cthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 0 a1 O: m4 ?7 T2 H
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
# y) }- M# Q8 f% A2 ~changing needs of the organization and community;
% W' w' A8 @3 E; p3 Z8 N/ D3 b8 C• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
. I) V8 z8 \0 G7 T$ m# Q4 r• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
0 J5 B3 F. I) F+ P) hselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
5 @8 i$ L" g- t• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ) h$ _. R$ _2 V& h* c
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to ( n% G0 v+ i$ T) {2 b* V
effectively and positively represent the association; 9 }* x N6 b# F) x% D) x- J
. x. d1 \2 f5 S/ s( {• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 9 i: G# G A( `. @+ w, \& u
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
' n0 _0 `* Q: a* T+ J• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
+ \3 Z+ v( ~- m# {: ?+ y. {performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ' m! W9 D! X5 F5 ^1 |2 h4 q5 U
the forthcoming year; # s& W0 A/ O- M( p
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
5 h9 Q. a" [, D" i dpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience , e) |8 o- C1 A. `# `
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
8 g# m2 u! X6 Z3 G: D• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, : F; v. u( p! d9 L! w2 x: |
Networking and Fundraising;

and financial statements; and
