+ s. I; O& B9 ~3 tReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
' }( H! I k# q1 D" O7 K9 xexecution of the YWCA Strategy 8 T+ v# J# d% f2 u+ f
1 X4 R! j: S5 t8 l4 q$ b4 BSpecific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 3 p$ {" R/ _$ w& Q
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
8 c# Z6 y6 k" \4 ~) t; N2 Q- o! uthe Board of Directors; ' B! L& I" H3 j/ u" v3 i
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
$ _) v6 L) b2 f7 nincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
) z" z$ c; l# Uenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
9 Q$ L. y1 N: c5 a( V D8 w3 a; {• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
9 N1 k9 Y6 X# S! Y- iobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by " j" C& h) w% j7 N
the board;
$ F0 K+ C6 z9 V9 l+ W9 W4 I• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; : I' @) R y/ m- |& Y6 e( K( M' U
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion * r8 k. `5 Z0 T# D8 v' F+ s
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
4 v* T; g& f' T; q ^• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
! P4 m1 P- O+ G: r6 schanging needs of the organization and community;
) o' v! I0 R/ o; d2 d6 U8 W# ]8 h• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ! }& b8 n2 v" _0 C* J' o/ [

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
. m3 s0 s" V w; P9 z/ ?• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
* p/ T L* V' q& R! l! Dselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
5 l, h# q" B# Y+ Y; q# ~• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ' C3 |# o7 p; G0 o
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to & r3 a& _* F3 d4 U: ~' L- s- f
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring % R% S+ k5 ^2 ?6 Y
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 0 l' R- g. `8 C7 L. X; e" w0 t# Q0 M4 Z
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 6 [$ d! X2 V$ l1 K) X6 X! g# e
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
1 f2 `! ?5 S, @" pthe forthcoming year;
6 J& Z, O0 v/ z$ E& u) W- X0 p7 s• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
7 D) k3 @1 I! K% H- gpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Professional Designation / Certification 2 s, v7 }: n; ?! E& Q3 V
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. : ?8 L: O" i9 D G
# h" j; i( h9 ^& m$ q2 M% TRequired Experience
* s, M# k' m/ F j% H• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
9 C4 v4 e! V, u! }• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation * ^ s" s/ L/ A* n
abilities; 0 W4 W$ H$ `3 g) b3 e' f/ y2 C h
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, / J0 Q. Y( [/ m- C1 [, W, u& H
Networking and Fundraising;
\ f7 L6 R9 P* B/ w• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
# K8 I, ^3 h4 Xand financial statements; and
