Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

$ X; O8 ]6 \9 w; R& W" athe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
; T4 B/ s( n) H/ hincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 5 P2 ~4 K5 _( V, B/ C
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;

the board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
$ l ~% N9 O/ A2 z! uthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; % U4 M7 |* z3 N" c
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
' r. {" x5 L. X" A8 i2 q/ x4 W5 nchanging needs of the organization and community; ( ~" x; o1 x, }
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
( g( I! j2 F. J& ~. d$ _" Ocommitments;

• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
2 L+ n G; x$ Iselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
! d3 S3 H& L; j0 w T• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
$ k& e# r i* h% K( W4 E• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

& Z& j; m' b: T8 L I- w$ R% S9 F• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring

• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
1 Z4 O$ _: N) j7 ^: @! Gperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
: k7 z+ X7 |7 z0 ~% T. N: Lpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of $ z0 o O+ d8 a
YWCA Canada; and V! l& `6 X" P" L K+ w
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification

Required Experience
, F: U8 o! s6 ]" N" R' ]' K• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; + H, h: d) t" a( X1 M6 o
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation # V2 w3 f5 U' R* K9 b
abilities;

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
