this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
0 U) h( q$ u$ e' Q! v; n5 ?the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
' R$ f4 T# H! v( G) [8 Z: Tthe Board of Directors; 9 n1 G( U, g: V9 g0 \' S2 w0 p: L
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
- ^$ R) y0 f8 y% i- Yincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to # x; I" G/ H4 k! v7 Q. G
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 7 X. q5 b# m; E
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 9 n$ N6 P$ H2 g+ A! P
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ' j" i3 d& Y7 l9 [& K" ~: G/ T
the board; % f; R. A. @& }& } a# `
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 8 z4 ?/ f0 i6 y b
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 8 Y- L; b. m6 a
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ) `5 X- ^' E u1 x2 U! @. u0 h
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the , _/ D8 Q, o+ g: H
changing needs of the organization and community;
2 X: g7 r" S' h9 l: d, y" H: @• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 0 F+ T9 u# X# ^( _$ \$ p

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ' ~+ |+ @# A0 ]/ W
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 0 [9 m9 a: H7 l) c1 k- l$ x; V
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
- B2 d7 s0 f: Z• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; G' X2 }+ J. b: }7 G
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
$ z: O( W1 f& V' ceffectively and positively represent the association;
+ y4 K* K$ }' _& Y/ c# ^5 I, ` Z
$ x, }( j X p! Q k• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
9 {" p3 j& p8 X1 `6 c6 Kthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
+ \* u" F6 G" r! _/ Q$ s( w' r• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
$ n X2 C! @7 z8 N8 dperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
+ x3 c3 L4 G+ v3 Jthe forthcoming year;
7 F: T/ m2 m& x0 o5 p• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ! A+ v8 V$ L/ ~4 ?6 C1 T* Z ^
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

& C) I4 `# C0 U" L• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
+ O- s" T- f7 e$ T• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
! r' g O% ?/ q4 d+ A- K- eabilities;
' N& }1 ?" G, m! m• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 3 V; o; Z; X$ F1 a G9 U
Networking and Fundraising;
: _( I. _; l1 j5 i+ g• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting $ Y5 P3 r% Q( A2 ~* |+ e

centered perspective.
