Responsibilities

/ e6 W8 j* E* H" }$ G) c# nexecution of the YWCA Strategy / E3 I/ G, N, N5 f4 Z4 D( h- ~

Specific responsibilities include: 3 q0 P, w1 L) U9 m1 a O
' @0 z4 i7 q) w; y1 J• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 9 ~$ D5 b" R! Q) \" C8 @
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by : ~# a: K8 w C4 W
the Board of Directors;
: @' H- r/ X: C• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
7 \& {4 F, _0 N* kincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to # j/ ]& J8 S" Q; s! }: P& ~) \5 ?! F
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 6 I2 X5 B" a2 L6 f/ k
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
& J- s. A5 ~7 Y6 f' X- @. [# Q) zobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ) E6 m' Q+ {- G
the board;
+ W! b& ~3 w3 {• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; * T1 c4 C! ?/ O4 v
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion Z, \/ _8 b3 o- v. Z) ]; V, e
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
3 T: S, F6 S9 R7 R6 g3 c• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 7 V7 u5 M; R$ t4 v
changing needs of the organization and community;
5 {) G5 m& r% o9 s4 o+ n$ L# F% w: m• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; " K$ @, k( e/ e& F* ?8 y6 v- |! f/ p' j
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
( u8 N4 P+ w" Sselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 7 B8 P ~7 a# Q; \5 q5 U
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
. }# O. a$ ]8 W• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to . }% r$ R0 M* z" h
effectively and positively represent the association; " J7 H. i' P' ~- z& W+ a

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring . z+ X+ ]3 [) w# `) J# e. C* J/ s% V
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
' N7 Y' j" \7 m, w( K! F• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
1 E; J/ d5 Q0 C. r3 v3 Kperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ' V4 k$ `/ F& b
the forthcoming year; & r" o! s( n% H% `: f
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical / [* r+ y- @0 q
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

" {8 P. W6 Q0 L4 j5 {$ ]9 ?/ i• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;

& Y4 N" P5 I- t! G P• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, p% @/ ^! {) S0 `% W/ p6 o

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
