Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
3 @( s7 L, `3 H, D- Vthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
% E" D6 Q- s/ Sthe Board of Directors;
0 H0 G& b4 x0 h M- j6 u3 T* D• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 5 q- r1 x! H2 F& N% b! j
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to & h4 t1 a3 v) B8 o7 R
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
2 W( v( E' n! }8 L% ?• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and w* Z9 T* o' L: v
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ( o2 C& d7 b! k& G

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; . ?! l* Q" J) c) @
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
, H0 D+ r! b# x h1 e0 U& Othe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
4 G2 u+ f. {1 m+ G) |9 |( z• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; & w9 A' T/ x; `' I Y& b+ Y+ K @# m
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 8 d5 @9 s9 ~, J
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 8 V( P( K2 M; k7 H
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
2 m6 R7 L9 W5 C# L; d1 S• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
1 }1 ?' U) U+ M3 `effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
; t3 a' S+ R+ I1 Z# Q) E) Nthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 0 _ V, U! @" E" Y: N: z" P
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal + R1 Y! Q% b) L3 K9 t
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

# }( S, \4 k4 i |8 U2 E6 T• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
?7 y a; f# I# s7 k; qpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ' K9 Y; |& A5 h1 A8 F' z& V
YWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 1 a: C# M z% x

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; - k8 p# f# F8 M6 y c; N$ {9 u" N
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
