Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of $ S+ d/ U3 k. @" Y0 n0 _
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by $ W' P% ?) f$ h* h$ {7 }' }
the Board of Directors;
6 [, m0 s- O1 n; n& ^$ u• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
& D- v, T; M' G7 {$ Zincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 0 b* J4 y8 n( `! g
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
4 r, d$ Q% _) z% z6 R8 `( p• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
4 Z+ u: [9 L7 [! l* tobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by " A5 C4 b1 f/ ?

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; & r5 x! X0 j2 J) E1 i" d \
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion

• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue $ i, F: Q0 J% x' |2 m' ~

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
`# I1 m# @4 }: {8 b• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
) A, g- `, D; h: Kselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 2 A) P8 B S8 z( ^
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; , {! D) E- ^7 Q" u
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
- _9 w0 s6 m6 O6 G9 Meffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ; n% q) O, u4 x% T. n
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
6 R0 r; h3 X, t; V5 F• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
- H7 S! C1 j v, i: E: A' Dperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

0 v: W4 d) Y" N9 X• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
: {+ t7 T0 I3 jpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. : {% v1 y+ R' R; s/ O0 K

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 6 W. r7 @( M- U. L4 g$ Y( o4 c
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

9 ?( v+ u% H& m• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
