Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
( t# j( C; t+ e! Othe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by / `% ?/ u8 w% a
the Board of Directors;
2 f# ]* ]( B1 p8 H) [• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
H. x$ m$ }0 Q" [6 Q& kincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
$ @ |" D, S& G) D wobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by . o8 `; B5 O C' E2 w0 g
the board; / N* F1 H; _( m! C2 ~! M1 D
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
% a6 h' J# l8 @; I& H• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion / v9 H) L1 n0 ~# M7 e
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ) N8 E# o( ]+ \
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
! s: a* d+ z' c7 `changing needs of the organization and community;
$ ^; m. [/ D' E+ K* G1 q' r4 B• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
" J! ^( k( H4 n& P: ]" ]0 F0 Q2 Fcommitments; 2 l& t: ^( D5 E$ ^9 u
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
9 i; K$ B. C4 l% G8 B• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective $ a$ j, H" `# o% ?; d; |4 a
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
2 S: O! ]+ ^# I2 D• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; + X: F3 N+ }, Q
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
; k/ X) [' ]% h) h+ x* r2 S9 w n& U! peffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
/ d5 \. w7 _7 y3 w+ {; Kthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
! R/ h, Y! L2 n: z! M• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
' ^& A- n/ ]. Y& Dperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 1 o7 C" s* h. g6 s- x; r5 Q: E
the forthcoming year; D% D" ?1 F; H4 e
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
* S/ C# u) W8 ^# O7 Tpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
) O/ D, G8 J' `) }: A) W' ?YWCA Canada; and * E9 R7 m! `$ B
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Ability to develop and understand organizational goals, objectives and operations;

• Ability to plan, coordinate, and monitor a significant number of functions / tasks

4 v+ U3 f% Z' G) J7 w6 N• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ' `8 b$ j% b/ d( K7 O
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation & R9 k1 j# x# T5 {! ^# P
abilities; 9 X8 b3 T1 r1 l
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
$ W8 H* F( I$ Y" qNetworking and Fundraising; ( p6 f. s* i1 a9 {. J2 [# [2 h
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
