this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
2 D; A9 {* V# Kthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 8 y# V0 s2 T5 ]6 c- L) P
the Board of Directors;
. X; N" |1 |( b' ]: a: H s• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 0 H W( }% D, M# \; c: Q- W
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 1 m5 N; z; ?7 |
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 8 I5 p7 H& S. t( r$ r% B1 [
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and }. I, }* D6 b$ {7 d
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by : p+ R( c) ?* G- I7 b5 Y
the board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 2 d. a2 U# a( _2 d' |
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
5 h/ `6 O! ^7 q# z% l6 {• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

commitments;
3 C9 o4 Y% n& i: k3 O3 B ]8 B• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
8 r6 Q' c- [0 E* x• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
; A- v2 H7 n+ }* x2 gselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
3 n* s- V/ G) n3 U. Q• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; # h" X- I9 @1 d5 `5 j
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
: m1 j' M2 k# o8 W beffectively and positively represent the association;

2 ~ q( h' j0 m4 o w• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 5 f4 P7 }: ^& @5 j/ y- j
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
' D2 G. C1 c% I$ H! o5 k: H: X• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal # j2 `( b! w7 F* i/ f! \ R
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED * y2 R' }3 x* p: M! D" e
the forthcoming year; 5 ~- U: J! n& h$ H T2 G/ `
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
0 \' ]0 T" K: j8 Ypractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of & _( Q0 H' E Z( [7 c1 n
YWCA Canada; and

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ! w0 _0 C3 |! |- X$ K
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
0 |' S% o7 p9 y2 N2 M, KNetworking and Fundraising;
5 T1 o# `( Q4 h4 v: m' J• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 7 l+ N7 [# y- b( C& Z \+ o
