execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

4 q! V" ^: T5 C8 K5 ~' w9 V8 i• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ; \3 l5 i; Z. v
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 6 i4 k t( I" i ^* m
the Board of Directors;
& S; }( b/ i; T" y• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
9 G! i+ U, f4 [2 Mincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
' k0 i' `$ J& }2 e% e; c- g$ Uenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ! U& A. c6 j7 ~' \; ^
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and $ X+ X% E0 G R O1 J. y3 c& Z' g' |
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
' e: ?$ _8 |# \2 K7 u5 i$ othe board;
+ V* m6 \1 O9 x! Q& V% q- r• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
9 ?# W: |; R; N- N& m0 u6 m* V0 g• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion % \9 k- i) s3 k
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; - `9 Q3 p# I$ Y' y4 I9 l1 G; ]
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 2 _6 s7 R0 u$ i3 p7 P* q
changing needs of the organization and community; 7 \" R6 Z$ C( {" T
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue : r S* U. W! x* v% U d6 h6 ]! K
commitments; Q( X R1 |) m' _& H
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
) f: n, f; D( Y• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
/ c* o8 j3 i. }( n! pselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; & }* @% \* j8 e9 ?; G
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
: F8 K; [$ v6 O, |, y; l; {& k( X• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 4 E6 G. E0 S& h7 j7 G Z2 _( u
effectively and positively represent the association; - N! H" n" A* e

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ' J' E$ N( h& d
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
, @5 Q) w q) u' L/ M- F• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 1 @* I; J) E' h
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical % J8 B. k* ^! W2 L) ~4 ]8 L
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of $ ]6 g- r7 i0 y! ~/ v2 ~; I

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

' R- C- ]: ^3 F, _1 x. Q/ H* D• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. ; z+ Q& q) E( ^3 f% E _9 |6 D5 X
5 ^0 a( X% P" Z# f5 CRequired Experience
+ u) h' m' _8 ~& s• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
F* R6 L$ l5 k4 e• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation - b2 S: }; a2 v2 q" @# w! z5 f8 O
abilities;
9 V5 U: p0 {) k7 I) ?• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
