The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
, R8 Q5 M5 {7 z2 |the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
, {! c2 Q6 g5 h' H. I8 d4 C) { X- gthe Board of Directors;
' |" r1 t6 G! X0 N• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ; a P, U; |. V A1 K2 H; @6 A
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to " T2 a3 j: L& y
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ; \/ \! b- l5 c+ W& W
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 3 ?+ ~: e; k# E* @
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by . X9 w- ?6 L) F0 L5 ]

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
5 b7 l' ?1 G, E6 D' o# D• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion

• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

: j" w) X, n% m6 D3 o2 r! \, n• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
( Q; z- M) W% Xcommitments;
- j: {) H; [7 G6 J) G1 M• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
7 t5 _* J% Q- N4 ]5 X* E• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective . ~' V! s0 |% g+ l/ ~
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
$ U& O2 ]; f; `6 R4 C7 I• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; # ]- Q3 |5 \6 e# b" |
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 4 f& M/ D- l* T( p/ Z0 }; A. g# _- T0 V
effectively and positively represent the association; ' h6 W* n' e4 X, L( Q* p* Y

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 8 u8 v7 y2 I$ g' ]
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; / c4 P( ~$ G* l. e% C* p8 S
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 0 e$ W+ u3 B: N/ ]4 e: f& u
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
( w0 w! K) X$ ~/ V* O# nthe forthcoming year;

practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Professional Designation / Certification

Required Experience
3 @3 n3 U8 W! |; U0 W• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
2 b' Y1 G1 B, Y! l• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 3 {& C) z$ @$ S/ H9 h8 d/ A

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
, i/ N3 h& Z6 x1 k* ^Networking and Fundraising;
6 J1 l' m2 H8 Y/ o• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
