execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of & j; m; P: g7 R+ X1 M; f3 Y" X
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by : U! G1 K/ ^3 N2 F2 X0 f" P+ {6 d) J$ {
the Board of Directors;
' m z5 l3 k$ T b• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ' c) r' M1 M' C
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 8 q8 k. U2 X6 A5 j* ~; ~) J
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 0 K4 o9 A& {" u# [1 j% B
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
1 O; S4 V% x% D& ~( C9 Y, Qobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
' ^: K8 w4 g7 X" Q* B7 y$ Dthe board;
' W1 V+ I2 o1 E- }3 m# J• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; / ~* `3 i' I( v0 m
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion , g3 T+ P2 d; k: d
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; . z( z/ ^- t, @4 r% Z! t; W/ G# T6 q
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the * D$ ` {4 d) d# a6 U
changing needs of the organization and community;
, {( {( S1 n7 m5 i6 B% V- e! }• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue , H6 ~. X" }0 {7 I8 R. v4 j1 V

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
/ R1 P1 o0 x: d% `% p+ Z; S- F! f• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 0 R; K# R& m4 n
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
% a" c/ a' u3 i• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ! q: p6 d6 X+ N, H+ j7 n
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
0 L+ I% l- t5 X8 jeffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring # f$ A, Z' ~; c* }; K! t4 ]
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; : v" ^% a. w; Y) G$ w, B4 n
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 9 Y' ^* ?6 U ?) y+ J$ e$ m2 T* u6 m! u
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED : g' y2 J6 W4 ~' C
the forthcoming year; " O, B6 q$ G) a) j2 o: v) o4 P- v
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
# I1 Z: x g3 r( r1 q) upractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ( d0 b7 {$ o" C& |1 s" f1 E; k
YWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

: O- y, V% E. w• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; & B5 s: T$ A/ V1 d! p
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
' G8 V; o4 Q$ \% Z8 x7 m Jabilities;
* M* N" i# }. X9 m7 l3 U• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, ; M2 T8 K( R, G: D
Networking and Fundraising; 7 R& h( ]- W, i0 D" n* s
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting " c" b, x$ y7 ]2 @% Q& p
