. E! A! T3 V# I9 F0 L/ PSpecific responsibilities include:

$ O. Z0 l8 [/ |- o3 s% O• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
+ S: F! g n8 G$ {: w6 n ]the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
, D$ \9 G" o2 Uthe Board of Directors; : j8 \8 x8 l" q# g+ f
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
5 o- o; @( ]6 k( @ J* Hincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
/ h3 j7 O' `" s! u9 K+ qenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
8 J" G$ J' U; g* K* [ b• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
9 p. O) Y# `3 d8 ^objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
/ N0 I" t8 l) Y; N L0 xthe board;
) _; ^6 ?0 c! P Q# G9 l3 v• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; : x/ U3 ]* u6 n5 c
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 7 W$ f: o! W5 o3 u
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; & x: x- a! y4 _; Q, S8 b
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the t' v9 O/ a# {$ V2 ^* M
changing needs of the organization and community; 4 r, ~) R( ?4 ]- z0 J+ @
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue / z, U9 S# x1 {
commitments;
! G ?' L, `0 ?2 q9 [/ h. @) a• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ( z4 X8 ^9 ]/ z+ I/ [8 E2 u. ]
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 5 p3 t4 n, W, N+ }0 D' l
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
3 I& m1 o# X2 M r- {• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
4 ?6 ^! i2 C6 p V& {7 B• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
3 X6 _9 S9 H5 E7 b! v* S$ Yeffectively and positively represent the association; + A/ X( g. e2 P3 v
8 P% S% I% o% R• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
9 u2 A' |. I6 P$ K0 Fthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
4 Z, v! v: E2 _6 z• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
8 N z; t8 Q" tperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ! g8 F8 W" v( o S% o
the forthcoming year; , L& U0 D1 \: e A
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 2 ]2 V5 S2 `6 ^6 m
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
! E3 E- x* K9 T3 O* @1 V" l: F B* JYWCA Canada; and # {5 M4 `' T( R% g
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task ' O5 R; J/ G/ _* A, }$ X# d

Required Professional Designation / Certification
$ u7 ~+ v& s0 B& [3 I! i• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience % M) K! S0 X$ X" v
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
! W3 h+ o, O) S, @& ~" g: o: K• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
! {. ]6 i! ~ i D- T5 a4 w/ l2 Babilities;
3 @* R' ` j; A& s- i; ]• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
# `; ^8 j6 C/ ?' [8 ^Networking and Fundraising;
0 P' U; u; y+ I# W. ?• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting # U' G- G, A1 J; u9 }
and financial statements; and
