The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and . o" U: o# J0 p5 M$ g3 B4 ?) Z
execution of the YWCA Strategy 2 e: ]" \9 j9 W- ?$ U
& | `* q4 n; z8 b( r$ N6 T: L$ x6 Q$ \6 nSpecific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
7 R) i5 Z% { S2 m- K7 o7 y0 Athe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 9 `/ [$ g$ c& | N. U
the Board of Directors; ( D8 h! R9 G$ u, t
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ) h; t/ J: w4 a# C" h! G4 Z
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
# w& W: }& I: _4 f' a j- uenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
6 g) c/ L( O. {; M$ p• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 6 S9 X6 T, O2 `7 u
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 9 x% S2 [8 |% F- m: m4 I

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
+ Z$ F& m. B# m3 U* u• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
9 h7 w9 Y" B' qthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; + V& y) n& N& `$ l9 Y
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
: V6 l2 [! }. D% H) v$ vchanging needs of the organization and community;
+ N3 w/ C1 J6 W6 j! }% u _/ F• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
4 o& q/ O1 l: Xcommitments; N/ Q9 V- b' D+ e. j$ P7 M
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
$ d1 s v q# w; X• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 4 Q: T" `* s: K8 R
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
4 {# b! O" E( s# d0 u• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; D; j! K5 t. g) H0 ?% w
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to ; c" ~/ O) t; b N
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
" \! ?7 V7 m4 d0 V! U2 E! ]- Zthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; $ D4 |, X7 V' A6 s
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
: s! `3 e" @ Y; D% }+ |8 sperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
4 n" o( m1 s; w2 u! x) o0 Bthe forthcoming year;

practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ( g! [% B4 ]% R; H9 F; m! t n% L* @
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation " F2 ^! u+ q0 V& ~! d
abilities; $ W; R! y7 ~+ l" n! q/ D7 A
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
: q( c5 E0 K7 T9 t4 vNetworking and Fundraising; ! M) e) K! m6 s
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting Y. \: @0 K0 t# S
and financial statements; and
& O' X0 H" p2 a: I9 _. p2 _: p3 ]• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women / j6 b3 G+ J; E" N5 Y
