The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

& H* P* }- N$ W* E5 l% g$ c• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
- l- B: B/ V. D; B. C3 o: w# y3 Wthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by - ~. p1 P4 M# ?8 |
the Board of Directors;
& d8 l5 D$ u& o: i- C• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 8 [: @0 x4 ?9 M* h' C+ }/ B/ o
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
2 r- M, `0 K, f7 a) Eenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
6 r4 P* B, q2 Y% Y9 P5 u• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and , a u3 U. G4 z' f4 X
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

9 |3 a8 b9 [5 U, j• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
x9 e7 M, Y, M6 s, w5 [• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion & q4 D" B5 x- N6 r' D
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
; k+ P( s t: P4 o1 T/ c- k: b• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

% ]; ]" F4 N5 Y. a• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ! G# d2 ^8 A$ ?2 `+ x2 K
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 8 @8 O2 f' t( G. o. u
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
N6 o4 C) |' s6 k* u% I7 d, L• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

effectively and positively represent the association;

the implementation of systems to manage these risks; ' m* w, {- E: |" f
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal # }& H8 s# @+ s! a1 ?2 p' R' y: ]
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED + v `: ?: G! U% I9 l
the forthcoming year; , |9 K( A+ j, n9 \
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical , \0 Q) r" X3 E
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of : P+ s) J8 j7 E: n
YWCA Canada; and + G; m& I8 r1 ]5 w, h
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task 2 J3 ~5 ?9 O) g" l

Required Professional Designation / Certification
( c+ B% |$ g' n# F3 S- j* _; _• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
- K4 B' G; B3 }; v/ ^• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
1 d2 z1 D; z7 Babilities; ! g8 y5 @3 N6 Q$ I
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
& @5 H Z; l3 V! z8 W0 @! @Networking and Fundraising;
8 n; S5 Y1 N9 J/ Y( z• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
* D4 b. }+ ]5 u }, J) }8 B/ ]and financial statements; and
$ P( [3 W8 w) c2 H6 e• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women 3 Y/ P3 Y3 F% l6 A+ a2 H4 j
centered perspective.
