: ^ ~1 q' R6 n/ x7 v• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
+ |( L, o; p u ^5 ]the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
^" L3 R# x; }, D5 d# m4 c% J$ pthe Board of Directors; ! e( O4 Y4 z/ m5 t$ a; L1 o
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations : Q( ]" k' I- H% r# h8 P
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
% x6 m( O- I. Q* i8 R: denable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ! G& K; L# Q g* X/ G' E
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and / m+ n5 f& m2 a' m8 ?
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
9 X/ Q* P9 G8 c3 D, T& rthe board;
( L' w( M+ [8 ?( V• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
7 e& I; H4 O) o7 d* g% S/ O7 I ^0 f• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
. }3 r% {; L9 n8 mthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; & o2 s" `. t: t! r5 R* E0 i7 R6 p5 `
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the + y5 X% ?7 y" Q0 { o# X" j
changing needs of the organization and community;
/ r* e, l- J' B2 _- e• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 2 P+ _9 g2 y1 z3 A& M8 V0 H, B& B

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
' H6 N' Z3 A( c) W! p. \0 i* ]) Z4 H• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 2 b+ i" U) K& @! X' C) P5 a- W
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring + ` n* B6 q& `' p2 |! \
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 0 G/ a9 h- ?9 R% W5 c' `- ^
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal : a0 A/ ~ _) w" P; w m
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
. X1 Q4 O+ B7 M2 a+ l1 j/ e" C5 }the forthcoming year; # T7 {; Q! P2 U9 n
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical + a w1 ]0 a1 f: x) G% b
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of - ~5 E$ z p- R. n* Y& g0 P1 Y
YWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 8 N" B3 M6 W8 Q* D

Required Experience 3 P; Q# ~# o" J4 M+ z" v
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; $ {8 e6 K9 m7 Z. L1 d$ d
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
& ~) r; S E- R( e& Y' ?! m" iabilities; , @) U$ d$ f/ B9 y8 s
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
7 b+ C0 U x, @* H( {7 zNetworking and Fundraising; , J) C8 [6 R3 x3 y, T% ?
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting T5 g, K& }* _
and financial statements; and 7 N% m2 X+ E: Y1 a6 z7 C O
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women 1 N4 K9 P* i1 ]' C6 e
centered perspective.
