- Z) i, z$ _9 VReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

! R3 j6 t |4 I+ \' f K• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
2 ?2 Y5 n0 \( b9 zthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations , L' B1 O. E+ S. E: y& \4 {
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
! R9 N5 o& ]3 X7 P. ]; X2 Henable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; . \' L# @. F. |3 }+ u
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 5 w4 S, q4 N$ k3 d/ U+ Z
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 2 j# H a- y9 k0 [
the board;
$ T/ q; c: n4 D• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 6 I+ B' G: _/ j3 e' ?+ ^
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
1 ~7 ^4 R) h4 c6 F9 Fthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
% ]& q E$ j0 h! u+ Y4 [: v• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
7 o5 B: V# m) W' }3 l2 T0 ^: M5 dchanging needs of the organization and community; 7 Z' W; Q- {' _# f9 ?" ^
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
% X1 Q6 @& o& T. ^commitments;
0 t$ h/ d% F) |: \& O5 I% I- }, L• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
) l0 M& C# C$ [6 ^. f2 o• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
. r% @( W7 S! a6 B/ J/ u: gselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; , g1 j; B1 g; S% ?" D# O* p
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
5 F! z' c; q" @9 ]+ o7 O% j n• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
9 p: j3 u9 \$ Y" W5 k+ R0 reffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring , ~- q% S! H. m8 x+ r z5 w
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
& K' j- U2 K6 V3 U" Y+ V& D• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal & k1 |( ~. U t6 q$ O
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED B }" z' ~$ G- `9 N, v
the forthcoming year; 2 [3 ?# g' X0 j; R4 t% Q
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
; y/ j3 ]9 ~6 ]/ F% h! R2 Bpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
& M( ~- {# C2 N: y; u$ xYWCA Canada; and # @6 `' c1 s1 k" | L& V
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task / f% j; [: _* S9 g% J1 o% Z: }' g

Required Professional Designation / Certification

Required Experience
3 d( {% ]5 f! w/ a5 q: A, ]" d; T2 @( q. I• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ' G, W& N4 F* ~" I& k5 S+ S
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
2 \- `$ r! g5 l1 y3 Eabilities;
/ s% B/ e0 \9 o• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
- b( p$ [ g5 F9 l/ DNetworking and Fundraising; 8 c$ q5 ]3 g9 c% S
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
