Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

Specific responsibilities include: ! u5 c+ _/ s8 S9 |1 `8 r

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of + b. r" }; q: U# d1 f2 Z- {
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
) H3 Q( z) p2 o. I+ f/ M; Uthe Board of Directors;
3 W" P' {" O* ~" R• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 5 F/ m/ G/ `) ]1 o9 R2 U
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to # `6 S3 d/ F$ b+ l+ B$ p
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 0 A$ p! u" ]3 r
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
' |, i' t0 B8 |objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ; }9 x8 |' h; v7 ~3 {( w/ _
the board;
1 m4 ^/ i1 Y U9 ?• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ' B# X6 Q) \9 _) k9 O) z. [
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
/ {! [/ a( _8 x" X# k q8 m0 K9 H$ Athe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; & k5 J) b* j& f0 h3 o( S
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

" P% _- e- }7 U1 T$ @3 }• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ) \: U; ^* @, o; }
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 7 V+ p0 d8 P: u2 L9 B8 q. k
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 3 J, R- s, y6 O0 N5 Z2 c& y( _6 q
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

' W& s8 { F) F' v. ~( j5 e4 P• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
5 h- _ W2 E5 _9 r- kthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; : y3 ]2 S5 i u" v Y
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ( ]8 P0 X8 M3 o$ [( s* L9 @4 ]
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ! F4 n% _# x' R
the forthcoming year;

Required Professional Designation / Certification
; R9 \# f" i+ H6 S) j- P% ]• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. ' X8 ~2 A" s$ V+ M5 O* O6 L
+ w$ f' {/ R! j' KRequired Experience $ K% j- r/ [# t, s- m- o/ V6 ^% q; i
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
`( C/ O- ^, z2 v& X+ S• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

Networking and Fundraising;
