Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 4 T1 w, i7 ^6 l# D- L x0 @

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of % p% g! K# _# N+ Z s7 h( p& Q
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by , ]. J. T7 P: {0 w! X c8 e

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations

enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ) T @# o3 C' S& }5 J3 k8 g
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
3 C- l" K6 z+ Z1 s) ~objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by / y0 D/ }/ J! W+ c$ F1 G

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
4 y2 B; S, J* y; ?4 k5 [) P• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
' `6 k9 G+ o" [, h5 z* Sthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
0 y4 P& |) D6 g/ v• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 0 H) X8 E6 X$ N6 m
changing needs of the organization and community;

selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 4 c# |8 c% K/ P5 E" I6 `( W; \1 P; H
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
+ }( q. }4 J* ~- e; ~" u' zthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; ( {& q6 i1 X2 ?0 a( O7 r
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
+ w3 d% H) K' g2 r, e* uperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
0 d3 ?# z+ ?( U7 `$ Mthe forthcoming year; : Z9 t& J( y! R" b+ Q
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
: Q0 F3 T% i4 ^- gpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of % T6 N u+ A V) J( L
YWCA Canada; and

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 1 w' J6 n! k$ a8 Y* R$ T. i
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
% F2 u8 j+ m& m9 z! {8 ~ o0 `abilities; - L1 c3 ~+ @) [' N3 {8 X; I
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
0 u+ D; r2 j* ]Networking and Fundraising; $ R. ]' C2 b# n3 E* \: m
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
# s+ o5 H7 {1 _5 {* M0 s/ F Hand financial statements; and
