The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and / X+ m* @$ o7 T! [

Specific responsibilities include:

. z- [0 A# [4 x( N& Kthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by $ P( T/ |* J4 R# \6 h
the Board of Directors; {# X" I4 g3 l f+ L
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
: g x6 @1 d3 ^) i) X/ h# M& J# ^including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 8 N# z, t1 n4 j. [* U, C+ J
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
( y* Q! X$ _& J1 _* c; d• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ! W* x( q# P7 W# ]( q
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

+ |- q; e! ]9 E- t5 J/ }• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; / ~6 p) m5 {! \
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ! l" d5 P) P# M9 M2 `1 D% j" q
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; : t7 c0 P# s' `% `5 V$ V5 {
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the : P% n6 @9 p1 b& E4 X
changing needs of the organization and community; $ |0 B2 X9 n) ]* U% G% i% o4 ~
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

# y0 F. U7 s8 ^, d• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 0 \# @4 A. \$ d" r0 m) b X$ c, H
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
3 R. ?0 L& [9 xselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
/ y/ v& S5 A, w+ O( m• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ) }2 a/ U6 ~4 ` z" K
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 6 S7 a% @1 J+ \5 e, G
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
( { Q& F7 j& D0 J! _) o- u+ ?$ ?1 ethe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
0 ^! L' x# A* n; J' C* y• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ) m' m7 `. a% ]/ H
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

1 S" R" K z) q; I6 u5 B1 M• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
' G8 f2 p8 }. P# y; Ypractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

: i4 \; E! q, C' |7 B7 c+ x/ M: K• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
5 m3 [) r9 M9 @# I5 f$ K% Q" M• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 4 m; N2 }# Y( S" v$ _4 \
abilities;
