I! o* v I7 r+ d0 ?Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
; o, _3 d% ~2 Z% R; o4 Pexecution of the YWCA Strategy , \6 ~! \- M2 C K& h

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 8 C& i" A; X0 Q, t6 v/ J7 Z
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
) c' g6 j+ U# |- f" V* _: E9 L3 Mthe Board of Directors; ( }$ e5 s1 j/ M! k- G
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 9 o3 t. j# z2 A. Z
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
. [+ p" g9 y9 J* Denable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
! O2 j- t# D! L8 X# g3 w2 r: `- D* ?• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
% L# F0 j- ~5 S* o( X+ robjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 0 m# q6 B/ \2 y: }
the board; + X3 T# L4 n, V% o0 L
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 2 y3 E3 L: W( _* U$ y* e% D
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 6 f2 M; q$ s5 b& s
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
8 Z& q( K0 \8 s: I• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
% Z- d% U* H" w& t$ J b+ ~changing needs of the organization and community;
$ p$ k2 v9 ^; E5 ]- \• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue : U3 Q, m9 Y2 Y
commitments;
9 R' z2 L- D2 Y7 l• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 5 i. C& n2 y- @
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective " q# b% B0 J: a
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
0 Y# U7 e) u$ w% k, `• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
) i0 O0 A; l {( G' v• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to ; e' Z0 E6 H' s. U- O
effectively and positively represent the association;

. r4 T: J" A/ k" l( f# p- [• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring

• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 5 _( h+ \% }: F" Y
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED - H) j$ J0 @" Y$ s
the forthcoming year;
$ Q _9 N( d5 r& X& i• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 6 g+ ~4 X0 B, E0 N6 x
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of * R# j; j! P( Y6 H
YWCA Canada; and

5 l# z( o) G6 q5 P4 r* h• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 9 W5 i0 T: x( g& ~5 x
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
; A0 c) L7 F+ U Kabilities; _, h% ^* ^8 g& T9 x2 R
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
8 _% s" F0 \% S% b# R; J3 VNetworking and Fundraising;
. V1 M1 V$ k; y; W• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 4 e3 i6 X8 [: n% t
and financial statements; and 8 r1 G* N1 W: \
