& @( c' V& u1 [, LReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
$ k! E: `# L$ g! A, ]# k; rexecution of the YWCA Strategy
( e6 K, j; I; H! f3 m 9 @" j* u( C& ^6 T- D2 i! h4 d
Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ; P. K# }0 m7 Q( Y/ G( }
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by - H+ j+ H! X$ W6 i& l4 ]: e
the Board of Directors;
" b3 |- e% s& ]$ R• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 7 C6 t( E4 g2 K2 Q8 V# d
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to & L: v6 x3 n9 f$ l& p
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; f! B! G* x7 \3 E% N# s
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 5 d; F, q, {' C M7 I
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by + s; E1 x* p4 x$ m1 `9 C
the board;
& H* h9 @0 _! d# H _2 R5 a- M• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
4 v. U$ B8 L0 F6 g& Q6 l• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion " ~# s5 E% R& H, h, i8 }% i9 R" A
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ; C" E7 p: ~+ q4 ]* T
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
/ W& ^+ i9 x# F' i/ e: tchanging needs of the organization and community;
8 q4 ?, x' p0 B/ T9 M1 h2 ^/ g• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
* l: d0 D$ A6 M% k: qcommitments;
7 h) \$ d* e. `/ f2 u/ r6 K# `• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; " _ ~% _ o) K! j* P
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective - U# @1 _0 f; v
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
) L4 W8 b, j G& N: k4 q• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 7 l x( B+ N; R
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
9 H( l6 g4 H$ ~( V2 n6 i& c, Jeffectively and positively represent the association; $ i1 [4 ]/ T7 V" d& {7 B8 U. F
" V# Z0 X2 e' z& C/ N• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 9 F5 B& W5 Z) P1 `5 ?) B
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 1 A% Q1 f4 N8 w8 f* p4 U' U
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal * ^% l% s$ g5 t# g( ~$ G# | O
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
, q" }& I1 a. X7 e) Y+ Rthe forthcoming year;
# J6 O* K& O1 H7 q, z• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 3 J" }- D% i- u+ a4 r! \4 Y y2 o
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

- W" i- G, }6 S0 l6 h6 \8 ~7 k7 I• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Ability to develop and understand organizational goals, objectives and operations;

and achievable with realistic timeframes;

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience 7 B) l0 [1 A/ G/ J0 X
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
$ w% ], ?! C7 G1 l9 M' |% T7 i• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 7 D3 V; [+ s" h
Networking and Fundraising;
- z6 v9 i% h, \5 s7 e% [& ]• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women 6 E; O# [5 x* P6 e
centered perspective.
