The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ! ~ Y" x" s' K! l2 z! _# t0 h4 ~1 w
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
) O' {, S! V$ Y1 e6 Qthe Board of Directors;
; D8 ]1 w" ~& `+ @6 j* c) i• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
# p3 k6 I3 ` a# oincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
/ [, f n* m; | ]) _/ ?8 O5 x6 Ienable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
& P0 S, h9 \, @5 O• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
7 y; r# ^/ @; Q! Uobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 7 j$ ~' H5 v9 z! b
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
q( v4 ]3 U3 y9 l' l. dthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; % t6 k1 P$ E; e: B: i% p
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 0 _* D4 n) W( K: P$ Y. _
changing needs of the organization and community; - H! t* R! S4 `5 {& Q0 h) F, [
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue , E- Z8 R0 `' k/ c
commitments; + f. k! l- \7 G+ Y, @6 j
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
. c5 O6 E9 h* ~# s* F" g• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ! h7 S4 ?1 k2 r
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; $ q4 X7 t: r! w, d) p6 \. f& W
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; + ]" w: o7 T! E1 U1 X: J
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to / D" v6 R8 N7 s, ]0 u, m9 {
effectively and positively represent the association; - w# ?' B" m4 b; Q

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
: V& V( }! ^5 T# ]+ Nthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
" q* k! H, z5 \8 h! t, [• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
* W; C* ?" M! O. Yperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 9 h! |. L- ^+ ^) j. c/ P4 r. L! g
the forthcoming year;
7 e# @* q/ t5 ^• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ( ?/ u5 a/ h% z5 l6 g7 b+ V. \
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Professional Designation / Certification
( [) q, x- W7 u) p• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
& F0 O( k' E3 A, K) n$ ?& p• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 6 M) E/ F# `9 L3 B7 s% i
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 0 F; j, Z5 u) }3 C& `$ f0 j+ K
abilities; ) a. R, |9 R$ E/ Q6 N6 R
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
+ w, X7 Q' e- v* oNetworking and Fundraising; $ L: `; c5 Z- a
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 2 N, w) P# A" I! { Z$ {
and financial statements; and

centered perspective.
