! Z0 u& q4 h; Q7 |; i4 Z• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of / ^& M$ Z# e- P+ @& g. s4 o
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ! Q/ F% q" J. K4 ~- h4 q7 z
the Board of Directors;
% f4 _& {. l5 G/ ]2 j% w• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 6 i9 K5 \/ [, }4 [+ {
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 7 P0 N/ h# o$ d
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
* H0 [4 O. B+ |8 i• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
+ m2 X, E: H9 j2 |objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ' D! ?0 H |/ F

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ' R6 K9 f5 c Q, u2 {$ O9 F( z
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion & G1 `2 v; h3 i8 y/ O1 p$ o; F
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 0 s7 _ m6 ?1 j: R
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue % |2 q) t! f" e8 L

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ' o! z6 J) E8 s, `8 V
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ( ]4 I" r" b9 w: v+ W- n* ~
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
/ \# d) ^1 k4 W# D3 z% G$ F O• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

effectively and positively represent the association;

! d, s5 k% v9 V9 e: ~# A• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 1 w' j8 F) Z/ ?3 E( ~$ j
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
% b" h; v! S/ G& B- L• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
4 f& K& d! n1 {+ x3 E8 Hperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
9 C: q8 J, r* w bthe forthcoming year; 7 l+ i( y, o2 i+ H) G
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical " ~* s% Z# d: u* H$ E. p* h( O
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

2 C6 W/ O& s* C• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; , z4 u/ G* b! b2 ]# J w8 s
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
% }* G- h+ D# i& W: M; F8 cabilities; 9 n/ X: k* c( W0 |/ t
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, . W' F F: h* H0 r+ ?% w% z
Networking and Fundraising; ! y" h+ j" V+ C3 Z8 ~
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 1 o8 o4 j% v4 B! ^! V
