Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

Specific responsibilities include: # |4 V* m& [3 n0 C

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
+ K- m2 x7 V( R* ]& nthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
! B ~; q1 j1 n# _0 \6 c9 z; @including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to - v" w3 }* h! q5 o8 v
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; . m5 s$ F1 @& |2 D5 x! i( r
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ' J) Q: w s/ |0 a' e, i
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by - [# I" \" z' e* r4 }: f

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; * b* e# ?' U& C0 v4 X
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion

• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

commitments;

• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 5 ^6 K3 b4 q1 ~* Y( ?
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ! n* L: h/ Y, B' M7 T$ ]
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; . y0 \$ r0 R, i
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 7 Q; O) ]: [6 H4 o3 t) `% ~
effectively and positively represent the association; # y; F- W3 x/ x- [6 n: u% w3 V1 l
2 i! Z1 c" {7 ~6 u• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
7 y) s: o. \' ~& ]; m$ P. x& b. tthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 0 j; s# p4 ] F) v
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
! t0 n9 |* B' q G: I( Lperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
, n+ j- o1 u$ h5 D/ {% `the forthcoming year;
6 l9 _7 a/ ?$ M• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
; [3 \. A( O: @8 qpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ' x$ }. u) O8 w0 r! T( {

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

# F& @' j' N! w' r• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
1 m# p f) ]+ i, H• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
& U, l# c% w1 j8 \abilities; / b. M/ Z9 q. a" V
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
$ F/ g) G( x; u8 d' K) P5 vNetworking and Fundraising;
4 R1 ?' x, r( Y) q( f• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
0 H2 M$ u' u* a5 ]* jand financial statements; and & E6 L+ `- p( b0 _
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
1 y( ^ c" E& p5 T- icentered perspective.
