Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and ; O4 u1 W4 {8 B$ e1 X# }6 _
execution of the YWCA Strategy ! {8 M9 u/ \$ z. k% [8 o

* m* x9 M! O" E" v7 D( v• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
8 L+ f3 x$ k) R( _# X4 ^& Gthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
1 a6 g- D( }' e$ C! `8 o* B7 Mthe Board of Directors; ; w* K' q1 o6 v: _& q
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations

enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 7 y8 g7 B" M& T5 m( _
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 4 x5 L" G; T, z7 K @: y
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ; X+ T. V+ R: `

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 2 k: E$ k& O0 n4 E
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
& C7 t+ c. `: @ C U6 bthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
1 N, O5 @" b# d9 G7 F8 Q• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; . u+ f9 A9 M! v; r& g" w5 G6 l
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective

• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring % R% I- ]3 q8 {0 \

• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
9 ?# ?1 e7 e! {4 Q3 N* U. operformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED $ n2 {* c7 y" h; ]9 B! _. M
the forthcoming year; 8 Z8 g4 B# Y' N, w r5 \
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical : @) u3 y5 e$ S+ N
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ! s2 Y3 \/ q) w6 D0 o

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 9 Z8 S7 P5 I+ ^5 c% g$ r# J
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
8 j6 a p; f5 V9 V4 y6 Zabilities; ~5 e7 k1 m/ Z
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
9 @/ S s2 r0 K: PNetworking and Fundraising;

and financial statements; and
