* B" W; D" j8 j1 j# e5 y! g# Z• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ; Z( \6 v' v2 B- x' a; Q
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by , F' w9 {7 m4 G2 G0 t- r

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 4 E9 ]2 n% Z1 a& Q% I1 i
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to + V9 q- I) F; |, z" u2 D" Z
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
; d6 ^- b1 S7 [2 V4 K- xthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ) s: v' T ?% ^, I) J- O# P' I$ X% ?
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the / ]8 p& |) r; p9 w2 {
changing needs of the organization and community;
, ]# X+ V1 `; L" B- f5 |• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue : J- J N% I) w' y. e
commitments; ^. z% W v/ i
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ( z& k( R3 K# W
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
, I2 K* ?7 ]# r3 c! V+ Kselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ( E$ H3 ~8 w0 Y* y# G' O
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
% M3 P" t" e# J# ~" b• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to ! ?+ _' z: f$ ^3 {. G2 M" w' Q% r
effectively and positively represent the association; ( i& Y5 J E m* O

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 1 U- j0 X& a! `" ^8 S' q
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; - F& Z" a% X3 N
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
" E! R$ H( P: mperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
+ |: U/ a3 H E0 R8 [6 rthe forthcoming year;
8 @# N( P" k4 l! S• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
! m6 e. G" O- C& I1 v8 Epractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
) M3 b+ m7 A% RYWCA Canada; and

6 C3 X, t4 @3 g• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. + V7 Q L5 `: D: W

Required Experience . v7 G1 m$ R6 o. o) \
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
! P. C+ Q2 c5 i3 n• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
! y& Q* \: A+ I: N$ x8 x) Kabilities;
+ v* Y% n, I8 Q P& z# ~• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
/ G8 s, L6 q3 R2 T0 XNetworking and Fundraising;
" h6 P9 Y# }: Q5 u• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting % x1 m" v6 ^' p: U; n* m

centered perspective.
