Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

Specific responsibilities include: ; P& i7 \- \! w( T

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
+ X' s' V) x3 m6 x1 X& o8 Kthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
8 n7 a! Y1 s" n' {0 z' D( I% athe Board of Directors;
2 [- C/ D$ J" ^' W$ T, r1 C• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
% P6 G- {- P( ]1 [' Rincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 7 f) b" M' R6 z9 D- i1 k
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 5 H6 c/ _2 ^3 [* e" W
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
- P7 [/ f4 I- H8 Wobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by , f6 o0 A9 Q3 F D3 J8 G
the board;
% v( S! m# j8 n' M, r3 }• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
1 v9 y, o0 K0 X- S" f/ J• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
( @/ i3 l& t6 H, r7 rthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
0 T0 A& \- z' I7 d6 Y# C9 I• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
% k- t% w8 s, L. z2 gchanging needs of the organization and community; : v2 ]4 e+ K% F
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; / t# m d! J+ J4 d( R3 `. `0 l
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective / m r B8 { ~1 y& R" n4 `
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
* O I0 ]' r9 B$ `2 C0 K• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
* B) D1 K# x) N3 a• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
( m P, H# p/ d# @the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
/ W9 j$ w* Z+ ~2 d• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
4 u# g" O+ K* B/ C+ Uperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ( c7 Q% y# F5 I: v8 Y
the forthcoming year; * h- k% t6 t4 X/ V1 R4 e8 L
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
' z- Z: K8 q* T0 _practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
& R' o# P0 j4 I( X8 }7 OYWCA Canada; and
4 [1 t1 M h2 L• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification : {/ O% i- n6 a! q2 W: D
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. : Q9 j$ C* `/ Z* Z2 H, X
' I) G& p. V9 M, e, R) JRequired Experience 5 h p K+ P4 E2 `
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; % @/ q0 J3 S4 ~% M8 I
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation % q; X D( a4 ?9 d- E
abilities;

Networking and Fundraising;
