execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

" ]0 s5 t" k7 P# G• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 5 e5 v. w$ p! |! ?# \
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
6 j' t' e" A& ^- @! Sthe Board of Directors; ) c4 `; T* ~- H) A& n$ ^
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
4 b2 g" R8 {) P6 c) hincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
) l8 c5 G! B. ? B; e. h6 F) R1 Zenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; & v: b' k- I, N2 f- C
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and $ C2 P2 F0 m# ~/ y" |+ O% P
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
/ w0 H, l8 c9 o: N, w• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
9 ]8 ^" h, f1 B$ V+ L( |the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
' \9 r- r) R% L; T, C1 [9 \• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

& e1 Y1 |: C+ P0 Q- S% L" Y• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue . ]: r' v2 n- {: ? S) t9 c) t

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
. B/ X5 M$ g8 l) V• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
1 \) A, Z9 z7 y* Q# `5 Dselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; , u+ n7 z* Q! A* Z# f& E
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

effectively and positively represent the association;

* a5 s0 n/ K# ]- D2 M0 M• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
& e$ I3 \% L( `, cthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
( ^+ O$ T9 k b! V6 l0 w1 b' V• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal $ d+ {6 J0 Z& A; ~; d6 Z/ s
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED * o9 {# J {* K6 q7 i, `/ f9 s
the forthcoming year; & K1 p5 t" W$ a5 }6 T; x
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 9 D8 w: x& q8 b8 ?% D8 w
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 9 o8 ?, B9 J" d, x: s2 G* i
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation & ^% ]' ?4 ?% H! J2 g2 r0 F
abilities;
1 M+ I& Q" B& P# e& N/ d• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
# \; f. T p* P# j. A4 XNetworking and Fundraising;
5 J! l4 j& v& D6 h6 s s$ q: H: e• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
