Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and , u7 _ E: z9 V V
execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

! ^- X/ C2 i* v; C5 _! W; C• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 2 [5 w) K5 s/ a+ O1 R& s
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
/ } L$ _- @; J X3 n othe Board of Directors; 4 q: E9 {3 O" G, H8 E8 ~
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations $ h; J/ T, m8 Y8 c3 K% e3 p
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
1 t c1 f3 U) o0 Henable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 3 g0 C- e9 o v' w7 F6 ?
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 0 }- t0 A' z; S* h
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ' a8 `2 W; l. }* L
the board;
. _$ g( Y8 ^4 r0 h5 N; K- K e• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; - {3 ]( c& f) j( W Y' W) m
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
7 \( d- k1 h- a& {! vthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; : n6 x& _% q, o" i5 G& U/ p+ n# `
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
$ ^2 I: }0 J5 `& t# p# G# P: w. @% D' Mchanging needs of the organization and community; ; F9 a( x' Q' @( P$ u. y T8 j
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue * a9 v a6 s }
commitments; ! U5 Q8 s, [$ i, Y& ?3 x$ q6 ~4 y
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 7 s' z K: H5 ]: b
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
W: H1 D3 ]9 D9 T5 cselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
$ w1 d# ^: a4 z. W$ l• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; n) A- b. U( R. p) @ Z' j6 R
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
' x! T. c9 C( @- a) ^effectively and positively represent the association; 9 k, C r4 e3 X, f6 V
- \) ^+ V( F6 [& h) g/ y: f. @5 d" R8 G• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
" y3 @) c4 z* z. j( n# b% E& ~the implementation of systems to manage these risks; & l. u) M; p; L* R
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 0 E' j, n& l6 D# ^2 V: c
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
9 _9 ]( k5 l5 r- |the forthcoming year; # z- E1 ~$ {2 @7 `% D5 V
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
4 R' b" Q- L, P# Bpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ( G2 Q: H& R5 g' |/ a6 H7 x) i

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task * z9 @: K7 ?( r2 x& M( `

6 O2 @" H- ~2 P: F6 g& i' XRequired Experience
" W- g I. S! d# w1 V: Q9 w, l• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 0 C* y- E1 i" k7 ~
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
4 J x" e3 n7 I9 |8 @abilities;
. i: d+ ?0 P$ g: o• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
' c8 h3 c& D: t U, S2 O6 k, vNetworking and Fundraising;

and financial statements; and
