Responsibilities

execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 3 a4 b2 s$ G: `9 R C
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by . k* B0 z# A) ~. L
the Board of Directors;
$ P% k2 P7 u7 j \3 e6 _• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ; o! n) W4 }' X1 l0 N
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
& ~# `7 g. f; q4 z2 h6 |1 Q4 Aenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;

objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
( m% @* i0 j, |0 ?( Nthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; % S( t2 i; q0 \
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
/ R" T' |! c$ F o9 U+ E7 }+ Bchanging needs of the organization and community; + |. M8 T/ Y6 j, n4 U
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue + }( y m Z0 h- |, t' F M1 b
commitments;
5 M* O; {7 I: {8 o+ B9 u! u/ S+ }3 L• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; : y* f3 N# H! ? Y4 Y% B
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective % x' G6 I" ?) G$ C
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
0 i* H9 [, U( {$ h6 R a( Z• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring / m( ?! ]+ x, _ z7 U. D
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
; B6 M8 B" t& T& y& U0 {• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 3 e4 Q2 k1 G# X
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED + Z7 F2 b( Y8 u4 J4 K
the forthcoming year; 0 A: ?8 W% E* _4 U0 y* A0 I% m
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
, L. g0 k" c- ?8 upractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task & b/ _6 Y& r3 f

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 1 b6 E: Z3 j. Z; T
1 N3 u7 P9 l' QRequired Experience
Q* I# X, I: l" j0 x: s7 A• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 5 p; w% n8 T0 n& ^3 t, [
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
! b+ ~( a" ?. d- J8 B. L8 j) L3 zabilities; ( P8 ^3 d0 N- W7 y* `
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
! g* [4 A! r) C9 q1 b5 qNetworking and Fundraising; * p o6 F% j; C3 a7 S1 F
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting " G3 ? R9 A, C a
and financial statements; and
