CALGARY - A fire has halted operations at one of Suncor Energy's two oilsands upgraders north of Fort McMurray, the company said Tuesday.5 W: Q5 y1 {3 i- `7 R! a" R

No one was hurt in the incident which happened after a fire broke out around midnight at its upgrader #1, Suncor said.9 y5 r9 g3 |- [% |5 l1 h

The energy giant said the 125,000-barrel-per-day unit was shut down after the fire, and it is currently assessing damage.

5 b9 Q* V; j% wSuncor has been plagued by a series fires at its oilsands operations in the past five months, suffering three fires since October in the upgraders which convert bitumen into synthetic crude oil.
