CALGARY - A fire has halted operations at one of Suncor Energy's two oilsands upgraders north of Fort McMurray, the company said Tuesday.

" Y v# `2 D; F. {No one was hurt in the incident which happened after a fire broke out around midnight at its upgrader #1, Suncor said.7 Y6 W; m7 |+ T j
5 F- b5 T8 J. N8 k& iThe energy giant said the 125,000-barrel-per-day unit was shut down after the fire, and it is currently assessing damage.

Suncor has been plagued by a series fires at its oilsands operations in the past five months, suffering three fires since October in the upgraders which convert bitumen into synthetic crude oil.
